Clara Fehr
Clara Fehr, 89, Robbinsdale, Minn., formerly of East Grand Forks, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, in North Memorial Hospital, Robbinsdale.
Clara Luithle was born Aug. 19, 1911, the daughter of Jacob and Margaretha (Seuss) Luithle, in Willa, N.D. She attended school in Manvel, N.D. She married
Eilert Fehr on Feb. 24, 1931, in Hebron, N.D., They lived in East Grand Forks. Eilert Fehr died July 9, 1963. She moved to Robbinsdale in 1996.
She is survived by sons, Peter (Doris), Robbinsdale, Walter (Elinor), Ames, Iowa, Eric (Chris), Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Robert (Diana) Lexington, Ken.; daughters, Marjorie (Harold) Lang, Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Jean (Bill) Rath, Vista, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lydia Graf, Staples, Minn.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Peterson; and a grandson.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Grace Baptist Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.
Burial: Sunnywood Gardens, Grand Forks.
Irene Bolin
KARLSTAD, Minn. -- Irene L. Bolin, 81, Karlstad, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Irene Olson was born March 16, 1919, the daughter of Zachary and Helga (Anderson) Olson, in Halma, Minn. She grew up and attended school near Karlstad. She married
Clark Bolin on June 26, 1946, in Karlstad. They lived in California and Chicago, then returned to Karlstad in 1957. They owned and operated several restaurants including Flat Top Drive-in and Clark's Cafe. In 1965, she began cooking for Karlstad High School. She retired in 1982. Clark Bolin died Dec. 31, 1986.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Bolin, Minneapolis; a son, Craig, Karlstad; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn; and a brother, Raymond.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, First Lutheran Church, Karlstad.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7: 30 p.m. prayer service, in the church (Hughes, Hallock, Minn.).
Esther Tice
FERTILE, Minn. -- Esther Tice, 89, Fertile, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, in Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Fertile, where she had lived for the past 111/2 years.
Esther Selma Lucken was born Jan. 12, 1911, the daughter of Ole and Carolyn (Gustafson) Lucken, in Fertile. She attended school in Mentor, Minn. She married
Earl Tice on Nov. 2, 1936, in Erskine. They farmed near Mentor for 40 years. In 1977, they moved to Red Lake Falls, Minn. Earl Tice died in 1983.
She is survived by children, Shirley (Ronald) Olesen, Deer River, Minn., Ronald (Marge), Cohasset, Minn., Carol (Myron) Cote, Red Lake Falls, Janice (Duane) Wilhelm, Stillwater, Minn., and Dennis (Paula), Mentor; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ora Gilbertson, Detroit Lakes, Minn.
She was preceded in death by a grandson; brothers, Lloyd and Myron and an infant; and sisters, Ruby Lucken and Gladys Abbott.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Wednesday, Little Norway Lutheran Church, Fertile.
Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. today, with a 3 p.m. prayer service, Fair Meadow Nursing Home.
Burial: Rosehill cemetery, Mentor (Erikson-Vik, Fertile).
Hazel Wahlberg
ROSEAU, Minn. -- Hazel H. "Patty" Wahlberg, 88, Roseau, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Hazel H. Dornfield was born April 7, 1912, the daughter of Rudolph and Alma (Schroder) Dornfield, in Withrow, Minn. She grew up and attended school in North St. Paul. She graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in music and English. She married
Carl Wahlberg on June 22, 1938, in North St. Paul. They moved to Warroad, Minn., and later to Roseau. The had many business enterprises in the area. She taught music and English in Warroad, Redwood Falls, Minn., and Roseau. Carl Wahlberg died in 1998.
She is survived by children, John (Mavis), Roseau, and Carla "Chris" (Ervin) Vacura, Greenbush, Minn.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Kueng; and a granddaughter.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Messiah Lutheran Church, Roseau.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. devotional service, Helgeson Funeral Chapel, Roseau, and one hour before services.
Burial: Hope cemetery, Roseau.
Jean Pisarski
MINNEAPOLIS -- Jean Pisarski, 68, Minneapolis, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, in Hennepin County Medical Center.
Jean Jacobson was born June 10, 1932, the daughter of Harold and Mabel Jacobson, in Whapeton, N.D. She married
Edward Pisarski, in Minneapolis.
She is survived by children, Bruce, Minneapolis; Edward, Burnsville, Minn.; and Linda (Dwight) Wahlin, Manvel, N.D.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and brothers, Bruce and Robert.
Services: Private services will be held.
Burial: Fort Snelling cemetery.
Clarice Adelmann
OSLO, Minn. -- Clarice L. Adelmann, 65, Minneapolis, formerly of Oslo, died of cancer, Dec. 6, 2000, at home.
Clarice L. Olson was born the daughter of Edwin and Ragna Olson, in Oslo. She moved to Minneapolis, where she graduated from high school in 1953. She attended the University of Minnesota. She married
Thomas Adelmann in 1955. From 1957 to 1988, she helped her husband run Adelmann Engine Rebuilders in Minneapolis. In 1981, she authored a book titled "From This Valley."Thomas Adelmann died in 1991.
She is survived by children, Pamela Adelmann, Frank, Carol (Vincent) Linders and Kurt (Dorreen); two grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Vivian Maze, Edna (Duane) Vang, Ina (Marlow) Nesmoe, Ebert (Elaine), and Doris Olson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers and sisters, Bernice Ekeberg, Raymond and Lloyd.
Services: Were held in Minneapolis. Memorials are suggested to Animal Humane Society or donor's choice (Billman-Hunt, Minneapolis).
Helen Ness
FERTILE, Minn. -- Helen Ness, 80, Fertile, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, in Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Fertile, where she had lived since Feb. 12, 1993.
Helen Hoff was born Aug. 24, 1920, the daughter of Martin and Charlotte (Heil) Hoff, in Pierce County, N.D. In 1928, she moved with her family to Crookston, where she attended school. She worked as domestic help for families. She married
Wallace Ness on May 27, 1950, in Crookston. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Wallace's business, Ness Repair Shop, in Fertile. They retired in 1977. In 1989, they moved to Fertile. Wallace Ness died March 23, 1993.
She is survived by brothers, Eugene, St. Paul, and Hilmer, Apache Junction, Ariz.; and a sister, Luella Dahlen, Chisholm, Minn.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Maple Bay (Minn.) Free Lutheran Church.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: Maple Bay Free Lutheran cemetery (Erikson-Vik, Fertile).
