Eunice E. Hall Johnson
SPRING VALLEY, Minn. - Eunice E. Hall Johnson, 86, of Spring Valley, Minn., died Tuesday morning, Oct. 13, 1998, at the Ostrander Care Center in Ostrander, Minn.
The former Eunice Hall was born icon Jan. 30, 1912, in Maiden Rock, Wis., the daughter of Dean and Emily (Nordin) Hall. She was raised and attended school in La Crosse, Wis. area. She married icon Allen Johnson on Feb. 12, 1932, in Preston, Minn. The couple made their home on various farms in Fillmore County, Minn., until moving to Spring Valley in 1948. Eunice was a homemaker and did babysitting. Allen Johnson died Nov. 7, 1989. She became a resident of the Ostrander Care Center in December of 1994.
She is survived by two daughters; four sons; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Iris (Mrs. Arnold) Anderson and Juanita Cole, both of La Crosse; and two brothers, Charles Hall of La Crosse and Dean Hall Jr. of Wyoming.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander, with Rev. Norman Bauer officiating. Burial will be in Watson Creek Cemetery in rural Preston.
Friends may call at the Thauwald Funeral Home in Spring Valley from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, and at the church on Saturday one hour before the service.

Raymond `Ray' Aune
ROCHESTER, Minn. - Raymond ``Ray" Aune, 98, of Rochester, died Sunday evening, Sept. 20, 1998, of natural causes, in Charter House Retirement Center, Rochester. He was born icon April 15, 1900, in Starbuck, Minn., to Martin and Emma (Larson) Aune. He married icon Laura A. Brye on June 22, 1929, at Coon Valley, Wis.
He graduated from high school in Starbuck, Minn., and earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in agriculture from the University of Minnesota. He served as agriculture agent in several Minnesota counties, and as agriculture lending officer at Olmsted Count Bank in Rochester. He was secretary/treasurer of the Olmsted County Fair Board from 1965 to 1987. Laura is a retired school teacher.
He was a member of Zumbro Lutheran Church, Rochester; a life member of the Farm Bureau; Rochester Kiwanis Club; Olmsted County Historical Society; and Sons of Norway. He was involved in several agriculture, 4-H and extension service projects as well.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; one son, Robert B. Aune of Rochester; one daughter, Linda C. Kyyra of Rochester; one sister, Helen Kyvig of Starbuck; and two brothers, George Aune of Starbuck, and Henrik Aune of Florence, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, at Zumbro Lutheran Church, Rochester. Revs. Lester Horntvedt and Gary Benson will co-officiate. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Coon Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Coon Valley, Wis., with Rev. Jack Mithelman officiating. Friends may call at the Vine Funeral Home, Rochester, Minn., from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday; and at the church Thursday one hour prior to services. Memorials are suggested to Zumbro Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.

George R. Allen
DAKOTA, Minn. - George R. Allen, 83, of rural route Dakota, Minn., died at his home on Friday, Sept. 25, 1998. He was born icon Nov. 14, 1914, in La Crosse County, to Henry and Martha (Tolvstad) Allen. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by a sister, Ethel Knudson of Denver, Iowa; by a brother, Donald (Lois) Allen of Winona; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Allen and Sylvia Culpitt and by four brothers, Durward, Harvey, Eugene and Willard Allen.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 401 Main St., Onalaska. The Reverend David Worm will officiate. Burial will be in the Onalaska Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the services.

Priscilla Hermanson
MABEL, Minn. - Priscilla Hermanson, 83, of Mabel, Minn., died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Garness Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Mabel. Burial, with military rites, in church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to services in the church.

Christopher James Brown
ROCHESTER, Minn. - Christopher James Brown, age 36, of Altoona, passed away Sept. 12, 1998, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn., after a courageous battle with cancer. Chris was born icon Jan. 4, 1962, to Richard and Marcella (Zillmer) Brown in Black River Falls, Wis. Chris graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1980, and from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1984 with a major in Finance and Economics. Chris met Karrie Mehlum while attending college in La Crosse, and they were married icon Aug. 11, 1984 in Viroqua, Wis. Chris was currently Vice President of Investments and manager of Morgan Stanley-Dean Witter in Tomah, Wis., and resided with his wife and four children in Altoona, Wis. Chris was known for his friendly, outgoing personality; his love for his family, deer hunting, and the Green Bay Packers. He especially loved attending and coaching his childrens' many sporting events and activities.
Chris will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Karrie; sons, Ryan, Cuyler, Casey, and his daughter Kayla; siblings, Wayne (Nancy), Jerry (Tamara), Linda Chapman, Eugene, Jeff, Steve (Mary), Ron (Kristy), Debby (Jim) Bound, David (Danette), Peggy Brown, Art (Monica); parents, Richard and Marcella `Sally` Brown; many nieces; nephews; god-children; and other loving relatives and friends. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne and Josephine Brown, and Fred and Elma Zillmer; and his brother-in-law Stephen Chapman.
Funeral services were held 10;30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1722 Highland Ave., Eau Claire, with Father Norbert Wilger officiating. Internment was at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Black River Falls, Wis. Visitation was held 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Prock Funeral Home, 405 North Hastings Place. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Prock Funeral Home is serving the family.

Marcella E. Schoh
CALEDONIA, Minn. - Marcella E. Schoh, 82, of Caledonia, Minn., died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, in her home. She was born icon Aug. 22, 1916, in Union City Township, Allamakee, County, Iowa, to John and Frieda (Vonderohe) Meyer. On July 22, 1935, Marcella married icon Roy H. Schoh in La Crosse. Together they farmed near Eitzen on Cabbage Ridge until 1958, when they moved into Caledonia. Marcella then was employed at various places such as: Mansfield Industries in Spring Grove, Minn., the Caledonia Hotel as a cook, Albert's Grocery Store, and Phyllis Shoppe both in Caledonia.
Roy preceded Marcella in death on June 12, 1988. Marcella was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, Houston County Post 3833 of Caledonia.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie Jean Schoh of Black Canyon City, Ariz., Dianne Krueger of Winthrop Harbor,Ill., and Mary Lee Meyer of Alexandria, VA; a son, La Vern (Nancy) Schoh of La Crescent, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Laurence (Doris) Meyer; and a sister-in-law, Lois Meyer, both of Eitzen.
In addition to her husband, Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Elmer Meyer; and a son-in-law, Donald Krueger.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 413 E. Grove St., Caledonia. Rev. Rolf T. Storlie and Rev. Elizabeth Steminski will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Caledonia. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrangements.

Leo N. Rostad
HOUSTON, Minn. - Leo N. Rostad, age 87, of Houston, Minn., died Sunday, Sept. 14, 1997 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston, Minn. Burial in Money Creek Cemetery, Money Creek. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home Houston Chapel; and also one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Corrine J. Schild
HOUSTON, Minn. - Corrine J. Schild, 79, of Houston, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998, at her home in Houston. She was born icon on Aug. 1, 1919, in rural Mabel, Minn., to James and Clara (Storlie) Arneson. She married icon Ralph Schild on Sept. 12, 1948, in Caledonia.
She grew up in the Spring Grove and Caledonia areas and graduated from Caledonia High School in 1938. She farmed with her husband in the South Ridge and Crystal Valley areas until they retired in 1979. She then moved to her current residence in Mound Prairie. She was a member of South Ridge United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and baking.
She is survived by two sons, Steve (Margaret) Schild of Winona, Richard (Debbie Rank) Schild of Money Creek; two daughters, Sandra Priebe of Winona, Rita (David Spring) Schild of Roseville; nine grandchildren, Gabe, Zachary, Rhiannon, David, Jake, Sam, Chelsea, Caitlin, and Chloe; one great-granddaughter, Tia; one brother, Herman (Vivian) Arneson of Fountain City, Wis.; four sisters, Minerva Blegen of Spring Grove, Cora (Art) Wheaton of Houston, Esther (Ray) Hahn of La Crescent, and Gladys (Art) Johnson of La Crescent.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Orlin; and one granddaughter, Molly.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at South Ridge United Methodist Church in rural La Crescent, with Rev. Paul Kobi officiating. Burial will follow in Church Cemetery at La Crescent. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Hoff Funeral Homes-Houston Chapel, and one hour before the service on Wednesday at the church. Memorials preferred at donors discretion. Hoff Funeral Homes-Houston Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Todd F. Snyder, 33
Todd Fredrick Snyder, 33, formerly of Rochester, Minn., died in a traffic accident Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, on Interstate 55, south of Chicago, near Pontiac, Ill.
The son of Norma (Swenson) Nelson, formerly of River Falls, and Frederick Charles Snyder, he was born icon June 15, 1966, in River Falls, St. Croix County.
He grew up in River Falls and Rhinelander, Chaplin, Conn., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Rochester. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1984.
He attended the Big Sandy, Tex., campus of Ambassador College for 2 years. In 1987 he transferred to the Pasadena, Calif., campus and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in 1990, spending a year overseas in Jordan working with children with special needs.
He was employed by Ambassador Television from 1990-1995. He moved to London, England, and worked as a technician for Creative Technology from 1995-1997. He returned to the United States and began working as a computer consultant for Software Spectrum in Chicago, where he was employed until his death.
On July 14, 1991, he married icon Catherine Elizabeth Brown of Chelmsford, England, in Rochester. Although they were later divorced, they remained close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Charles Snyder; his grandparents: Walter and Nettie Swenson of River Falls, Charles "Tod" Snyder and Emma "Babe" Snyder Vance of Hastings; and an uncle, David Swenson of Fresno, Calif.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Norma and Lloyd Nelson of Rochester; a brother, Brad Snyder, of Oneida, Ill.; a sister, Mary Snyder of Cincinnati; two step-brothers: Peter and Tadd Nelson of Rochester; three step-sisters: Kathy Lausted of Menomonie, Peggy Moss of Bluffton, Ind., and Amy Nelson of Stewartville, Minn.; four uncles: John and Roger Swenson of River Falls, Richard Snyder of Weyerhaeuser, and Harry Snyder of Hastings, Minn.; four aunts: Arlene Odbert of North Platte, Neb., Shirley Sitz of River Falls, Verda Grefe of Prairie Farm and Edith Hojem of Spring Valley; 18 nieces and nephews; and one grand-nephew.
Funeral was Sunday, Sept. 5, at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, with the Rev. Steve Myers of the United Church of God officiating.
He was buried alongside his father in Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings.
