Ellen Fairchild Berlin
Ellen Fairchild Berlin, of Sweetwater, Texas died Tuesday, Aug. 10 2010 surrounded by family in her home.
Mrs. Berlin was born Oct. 28, 1935 in Chillicothe, Mo., to Buel Paul and Nellie Goldsworthy Fairchild. Ellen graduated from Chillicothe High School and married Jerry Dean Berlin on Aug. 17, 1958. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Ellen worked as a real estate broker for J.W. Chapman and Sons of Lubbock, Texas and then served as a loan officer at State Savings and Loan in Lubbock. She later worked at H & R Block in Springfield, Mo. Mrs. Berlin was an initial founder of Lubbock Achievement Rewards for College Scientists, which is a national volunteer women’s organization that provides scholarships to the best and brightest students who wish to study sciences. She was also instrumental in raising funds for the Ronald McDonald House in Lubbock.
Ellen was active in her local Presbyterian churches in Lubbock, Texas, Springfield, Mo., and Sweetwater, Texas and served in the capacity as elder. She spent the last 12 years of her life living in Sweetwater, Texas, spending time with her loved ones.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Jerry, her daughters Brenda and husband David Davidson of Verden, Okla., Paula Bennett, and Dana McElroy of Sweetwater, Texas; her sister Phyllis Lutz of Hoffman Estates, Ill., and her brother Robert and his wife Karen Fairchild of Chillicothe. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Samantha and husband Kevin McLendon, Miranda and Erika Davidson, Dane and Dylan Bennett, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Kenneth and Richard Fairchild.
The burial service will be held at Garden of Memories on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 at 10 a.m., followed by a celebration of life memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church of Sweetwater at 11 a.m. with Dr. John Knox officiating, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 26460, Austin, Texas, 78755-0460.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater, Texas.

Patricia A. “Patsy” Dunn
Patricia A. “Patsy” Dunn, 68, a resident of St. Joseph, Mo., died at Heartland East Hospital, St. Joseph, Mo., on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010.
She was born on April 2, 1942, in Gunnison, Colo., the daughter of Merl and Mary A. (Robbins) Dun.
She is survived by daughter Dora Burns, North Kansas City, Mo.; sons, Jr. Leabo, Richmond, Mo., and Merl Leabo, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; daughter, Mary Kromeich, Braymer, Mo.; one brother, Jim Dunn, St. Joseph, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at the Evergreen cemetery, Braymer, Mo., on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at 4 p.m. There will be a family visitation on Thursday afternoon from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer, Mo. Friends may call on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.

Peggy Paul Wetherington
Peggy Paul Wetherington, 75, of Hot Springs, Ark., died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010.
She was born Oct. 19, 1934 at Malvern, Ark., to the late Herschel and Mildred (Bailey) Paul.
She was a graduate of Malvern High School and Henderson State University, Arkadelphia, Ark. She was a member of Oaklawn United Methodist Church in Hot Springs.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James L. Wetherington; and daughters, Leah Mathews, Jakarta, Indonesia, Ella Kidd, Dallas, Texas and Jennifer Kay, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, James Paul Wetherington and granddaughter Kelsey Kidd.
Services were held Saturday at Oaklawn United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Hunter officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the charity of your choice, or to Oaklawn UMC, or Hot Spring County Historical Museum in Malvern.
Arrangements were under the direction of Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

Rev. Herbert Lindberg Roberson
Herbert Lindberg Roberson, 80, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Stovall, N.C., died Friday, July 30, 2010 at his daughter’s home.
He was born Dec. 7, 1929 in Stovall, N.C. to William and Trilby (Lyon) Roberson. Herbert married Virginia in Kansas City, Mo. They were married 47 years. She survives of the home.
His family moved to Durham, N.C. where he completed high school. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for 14 years.
He served as a deacon at Southside Baptist Church, Kansas City, Mo., then was called into the ministry. He attended Carver Bible College and received a B.A. Degree from Western Baptist Bible College. He was ordained and accepted the pastorate of Second Baptist Church of Plattsburg, Mo. Rev. Roberson accepted the call to Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Chillicothe in 1985. He moved to Chillicothe after he retired to pastor for 21 years. He helped build a new church in Chillicothe and helped to establish many activities and services there.
Rev. Roberson was involved in the community. He was a member of the Chillicothe Ministerial Alliance, Promise Keepers, a life member and president of the local branch of the NAACP, served on the Chillicothe Zoning Committee, Councilman for the Third Ward, and was a Chillicothe School bus driver.
Pastor Roberson is also survived by a daughter, Deborah Olive; a grandson, Darryl Olive; granddaughter, Danielle Olive, all of Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Roy Roberson, Durhan, N.C., John Roberson, Philadelphia, Penn., Wilbur Roberson, Miami, Fla.; and sister, Melrose Glove, Stovall, N.C.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 at the Greater Bethel Baptist Church, 920 Eastern St., Kansas City, Mo. Visitation at the church is from 12 to 1 p.m. with service at 1 p.m.
A memorial service will be held in Chillicothe at a later date.
Memorials may be sent to the YMCA of Chillicothe’s Backpack Buddies Project, 1725 Locust Street, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

Robert Christian Boehner
Robert Christian Boehner, 68, of Springfield, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010 in Cox South Hospital.
He was born March 4, 1942 in Chillicothe, Mo., to Benjamin and Gladys Pratt Boehner. On Nov. 18, 1967 Bob married Sandra Lynn Steding in Galveston, Texas and they moved to Springfield in 1979.
Bob was raised in Chillicothe and graduated from Chillicothe High School. He attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and graduated with an Architecture degree. While in college, Robert was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Academic Fraternity. In the fall of 1981, with the help of his wife, Bob started RCB/A Architects.
Bob served as a Founding Chairman of the Southwest Missouri Chapter of Construction Specification Institute, a Chairman of the Victory Circle Transitional Housing and Reintegration Program, and as a volunteer for the United Way (Architects Group). He also served on several committees for the Springfield Contractors Association and he received their Outstanding Service Award in 2004. He served on the Missouri Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities and was awarded for outstanding contributions toward enriching the lifestyles of people with disabilities. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and served as the architect of record for the sanctuary and subsequent remodels over the years.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sandra “Sandy” Boehner; two sons, Michael, Branson, Mo., and Matthew, Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Teri, Strafford, Mo.; a brother, Tom and wife Katie, Slater, Mo.; a sister Betty Beck, Red Wing, Minn.; and three grandchildren, Paige, Christopher, and Tiffany.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 in Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ward Rudolph officiating under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. There will be a reception and luncheon following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. A private internment ceremony will take place in the afternoon followed by an evening celebration in Robert’s memory with details available after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Covenant Presbyterian Church or to Victory Circle, 2101 W. Chestnut Expressway, Springfield, MO 65802.

Irene Batton
Irene Batton, 89, of Ironton, formerly of Meadville, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 at The Baptist Home, Ironton.
Irene Almita was born Nov. 30, 1920 in Silva, daughter of Leonard and Grace (Carlton) Ward. On Sept. 14, 1939 she married Estel Willard Batton, who preceded her in death April 29, 1989.
Irene had worked at the New Era Shirt Factory in Piedmont before her retirement.
She is survived by one son, Willard Batton, Piedmont; one foster son, Alan James “Eli” Twidwell and wife Carol, Piedmont; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; two great-great granddaughters; and one great-great grandson; six sisters, Catheryn Ledbetter and Sibyl Nanny, both of Marble Hill, Betty Jo Tucker and Maxine Leach, both of O’Fallon, Ill., Phoebe Crader, St. Louis, and Carolyn Shell, Cape Girardeau; and one brother, Richard Ward, St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Carl Batton and Jimmy Batton; and an infant sister; and a grandson.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield, Mo. Burial will be in Wheeling cemetery, Wheeling, Mo. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday and the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.
Memorials to The Baptist Home, Chillicothe may be left at or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Arthur A. Alexander
Arthur A. Alexander, 53, a resident of Bonner Springs, Kan., died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
He was born Dec. 17, 1956 in Shawnee, Kan., the son of Arthur A. and Adelia (Watson) Alexander. On May 28, 1976 he married Patricia Monley in Kansas City, Kan. She survives of the home.
He was a 1974 graduate of Washington High School. He was a shop foreman and service manager for Oram Material.
He is also survived by two brothers, Monty McCullough, North Kansas City, Mo., Merle McCullough, Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Sue Pierce, Piper, Kan., Judy Feldman, Kansas City, Kan.; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Richard Monley and one brother Michael Ambrose.
Services will be held at the Mary Butler Meyers Funeral Home, 6300 Parallel, Kansas City, Kan., on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010 at 10 a.m. There will be a family visitation on Monday, Aug. 2, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mary Butler Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Gates of Heaven cemetery, 126th and Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wayside Waifs and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

Linda S. Dinwiddie
Linda S. Dinwiddie, 72, a resident of Braymer, Mo., died Friday, July 30, 2010 at her residence.
Linda was born Jan. 21, 1938 in Longlane, Mo., the daughter of Harley and Bessie (DeWeese) Huffman. On June 26, 1958 she married Freeman Dinwiddie in Niangua. He preceded her in death.
Linda worked as a nurse’s aid for the Golden Age Nursing Home for over 20 years.
She is survived by three sons, Richard Dame, Ill., Randy Dinwiddie, Clinton, Mo., Gene Dinwiddie, Braymer, Mo.; two daughters, Rhonda Shively, Braymer, Mo., Roxanne Miller, Chillicothe, Mo.; one brother, Robert Huffman, St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Pat Deyer, Buffalo, Mo., Leltha Wilcox, Valintine, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Gene, Herman, Harley, and Milford Huffman; two sisters, Vivian Bradley and Mary Harmon.
Graveside services were held at Evergreen cemetery, Braymer, Mo., on Monday, Aug. 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. Burial was at Evergreen cemetery, Braymer, Mo.

Tegan A. Edmundson
Tegan A. Edmundson, 24, a resident of Hamilton, Mo., a former resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Saturday, July 31, 2010.
She was born June 1, 1986 in Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of Dean and Jane (Sanson) Edmundson. She was a 2004 graduate of Chillicothe High School.
Tegan was a full-time student at Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph, Mo. She would have graduated in Dec. 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in nursing. She worked at the V.A. Nursing Home in Cameron, Mo. Tegan enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family, friends and pets.
She is survived by her mother, Jane (Sanson) Edmundson, Chillicothe, Mo.; maternal grandmother, Susan Sanson, Chillicothe, Mo.; paternal grandmother, Charlotte Edmundson-Howe and her husband Bob, Chillicothe, Mo.; one sister, Amy Parker and husband Dan, Roeland Park, Kan.; one nephew, Miles Parker, Roeland Park, Kan.; one uncle, Mark Sanson and wife Peg, Wichita, Kan.; three aunts, Janet Slater and husband Dewayne, Trenton, Mo., Joyce Sanson, Chillicothe, Mo., Dana Crawford and husband D.R., Chillicothe, Mo.; two cousins, Kayla Maberry, Trenton, Mo., and Kiley Slater, St. Joseph, Mo.; second cousin, Scott Slater-Maberry, Trenton, Mo.; her companion, Brad Corbin, of the home; her companion’s parents, Mark and Cheryl Corbin, Braymer, Mo., and their children, Trevor Corbin of Braymer, Mo.,and Marcy Crowe and husband Doug, Avalon, Mo., and their children Kennadie and Regan Crowe, also of Avalon, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dean Edmundson; her brother, Tanner Edmundson; maternal grandfather, Stanley Sanson and paternal grandfather, Clarence B. Edmundson.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010 at 10 a.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the May cemetery, Chula, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the May cemetery or Chillicothe Elks Lodge #656 Scholarship Fund and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

Kent Kelly Kellison
Kent Kelly Kellison, 77, of Chillicothe, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 at Morningside Center in Chillicothe, Mo.
Kent was born April 26, 1933 in Bird City, Kan., the son of Harvey Kellison and Wilma Weinstein Kellison. On March 7, 1953 he married Dotty Glee Moore in Fort Morgan, Colo. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2010.
Kent worked for several years as a glove cutter for Midwest Glove in Chillicothe.
He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Romeiser and husband Frank, Chillicothe, Mo., and Dawn Williams of Rose Hill, Kan.; a son, Rob Kellison and wife Lisa, Chula, Mo.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Prettyman, Azle, Texas and Dixie Dennis, Independence, Mo.; a brother, Bill Kellison, Kansas City, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dotty Kellison; a son, Russell L. Kellison and a sister Charlotte Braun.
There has been a cremation.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 at Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.
There will be a private memorial service and burial at Stucker cemetery, Chula, Mo., at a later date.
Memorials in honor of Kent Kellison may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and left at the funeral home or mailed to Heritage Funeral Home, 3141 N. Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.
