Mary Donoho
Mary Donoho, 85, a resident of Chula, Mo., died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Wright Memorial Hospital, Trenton, Mo.
She was born May 9, 1925 in Eversonville, Mo., the daughter of Harvey and Grace (Cloud) Tharp. She married William Ellis Donoho on Aug. 3, 1946 in Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2006.
She was a 1943 graduate of Chula High School.
She worked several years at Chula Co-op as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Effingham Bible Church in Effingham, Ill., and spent most of her life living in the Chula and Laredo areas. She was a member of the Rainbow Club and St. Ann’s Alter Society and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Donoho, Chillicothe, Mo., and Harvey and wife Dianne, Chillicothe, Mo.; three daughters, Linda May and husband Darrill, Effingham, Ill., Sue Morris and husband Jody, Purdin, Mo., and Sharon and Joey Shilt, Chillicothe, Mo.; one brother, John Tharp, Chillicothe, Mo.; three sisters, Margaret Horton, Blue Springs Mo., Betty Jo Perry, Chillicothe, Mo., and Frankie Jensen, Blue Springs, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Claude and Richard Tharp; and one sister, Beverly Tharp; and two nephews, Bill Tharp and John Perry.
Services will be at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Friday, July 30, 2010 evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. Friends may call after 12 until 9 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Meadville cemetery, Meadville, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Meadville cemetery and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.

Linda Wynn (Shedd)
Linda Wynn (Shedd) died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in Cleveland, Okla., after a prolonged illness. She died with family and friends by her side.
Linda lived in Hominy, Okla., since the early 1990s.
She is survived by her sister Rose Pepper, Chillicothe, Mo.; her two children, Leesa and John; and three granddaughters.

Dorothy E. (Boon) Holmes
Dorothy E. (Boon) Holmes, 90, a resident of Brookfield, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Mo.
She was born Aug. 21, 1920 in Jameson, Mo., the daughter of Moss S. and Vera M. (Goodwin) Marshall. In 1941 she married Wilford Boon. To this union two sons were born, Wilford Wayne and Gerald Lee Boon. Dorothy and Wilford were divorced in 1960. In Aug. of 1965 she married Chester Wilson in Chillicothe, Mo. Mr. Wilson died in April of 1969. On Nov. 22, 1980 she married William J. Holmes in Brookfield, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1998.
She attended grade school at Boyd Rural School near Gilman City. She graduated from Chula High School in 1938.
Dorothy graduated from Trenton Junior College as a licensed practical nurse in March 1972. She worked as an LPN at hospitals, nursing homes and several doctor’s offices. She worked for the Sho Me Tours as a travel agent. She was a member of Linn County Democratic Womens Club. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
She was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church, Brookfield, Mo.
She is survived by one grandson, Mike Boon and wife Liz, Chillicothe, Mo.; one stepson, Bill Holmes and wife Cindi, Richmond, Mo.; one step-grandson, Will Holmes, Spokane, Wash.; and one step-granddaughter, Amanda Holmes Nachtmann and husband Chet, Harden, Mo.; five great-granddaughters, Carrie, Hannah and Sarah Boon, of Chillicothe, Mo., and Morgan and MacKenzie Holmes; two half-sisters, Deloris Ratliff and Deva McHargue, Gilman City, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her two sons, Wayne and Gerald Boon; two half-brothers, Dean and Forrest Marshall.
Services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010 at 10 a.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. Friends may call from 12 to 8 p.m. on Monday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Mo.

Lena May Bowen, 98, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 at Life Care Center, Brookfield, Mo.

James Francis Bannan, Jr.
James Francis Bannan, Jr., 83, a resident of Hale, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010 at his residence.
He was born March 1, 1927 in Aullville, Mo., the son of James Francis and Mary Emory (Stevens) Bannan. On July 10, 1946 he married Beatrice Irene Figg in Chillicothe, Mo.
He was a 1945 graduate of Hale High School, Hale, Mo.
He was a farmer in the Hale area all his life. He was a member of the Hale Baptist Church and he was a former Hale School Board member.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; two daughters, Sherry Printz, Warrensburg, Mo., and Jayme Caughron and husband Lee, Hale, Mo.; one brother, Dale Bannan, Chillicothe, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jeremy Gilpin and wife Ellie, Warrensburg, Mo., Jessica Bradfield and husband Derek, Warrensburg, Mo., and Jacob Caughron, Hale, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Kelli, Haden and Kennisen Gilpin and Camden Bradfield, all of Warrensburg, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, James Francis Bannan, Ill.
Services will be at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Mo., on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Mo. Friends may call from 12 to 9 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hale cemetery, Hale, Mo.

Margie Elizabeth Brown
Margie Elizabeth Brown, 92, of Rothville, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
Margie was born Sept. 5, 1917 at Goldsberry, Mo., to Glendon and Frances (Ethridge) Pritchard. She married Gerald Raymond Brown on March 25, 1950. He preceded her in death in April of 1991.
Margie was a hairdresser in Marceline, Mo., for many years and was the owner and operator of Vivian’s. She graduated from Goldsberry High School, was a member of the Marceline United Methodist Church and had lived in Chillicothe, Mo., the past 15 years.
She is survived by two sons, William E. Wicklund, Liberty, Mo., and Michael A. Wicklund, Doniphan, Mo.; sister, Betty June Placke, Edwardsville, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and five sisters.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, Mo., with Rev. Bob Seaman officiating. Burial was in Rosehill cemetery, Brookfield, Mo., with Michael Wicklund Jr. presiding.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marceline United Methodist Church and may be left at or mailed to Delaney Funeral Home, 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO 64658.

Richard Thomas “Dick” Mills
Richard Thomas “Dick” Mills, 83, a resident of Ludlow, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at his residence.
He was born Dec. 27, 1926 in Eversonville, Mo., the son of Thomas W. and Goldie K. (Hines) Mills. On Sept. 11, 1948, he married Cloie Silkwood in Chillicothe, Mo. She survives of the home.
He was a manager for the Albrittian/Lawson farms for 23 years. Dick served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Baptist Chapel in Ludlow, Mo. He enjoyed camping, traveling, playing the harmonica and in his younger years he enjoyed riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, John Mills, Chillicothe, Mo., Kenneth Mills and wife Candy, Chillicothe, Mo., Bob Sayer and wife Sandy, Breckenridge, Mo.; three daughters, Bev Plaster and husband Dickie, Braymer, Mo., Sharon McCracken and husband Darrell, Blue Mound, Mo., Kathy Lineville and companion Vic Thompson, Warsaw, Mo.; one brother, James Mills and wife Judy, Big Springs, Texas; one sister, Dixie Allnutt, Chillicothe, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Larry and Dwayne Mills; one grandson, Wayne Mills; four sisters, Lavon Miller, Lela Graves, Mabel Amos and Bessie Blattner; two brothers, Charles and Wilbur Mills.
Graveside services were in Plainview cemetery, Chula, Mo., on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 at 10 a.m. Burial was at Plainview cemetery, Chula, Mo.

Dora May “Jitter” Brown
Dora May “Jitter” Brown, 74, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010 at her residence.
Dora was born June 29, 1936 in Fleminton, Mo., the daughter of Lloyd and Rena (Wood). On Jan. 7, 1955 she married George Brown in Kansas City, Mo. He survives of the home.
George and Dora moved from Nevada, Mo., to Chillicothe, Mo., 53 years ago. She was a member of the Liberty Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Mo. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, crafts and quilting.
She is survived by her husband, George; two sons, Mark Brown and daughter-in-law Lorie, Ludlow, Mo., Craig Brown and daughter-in-law Michelle, Chillicothe, Mo.; one brother, Darrell Wood, Raytown, Mo.; one sister, Juanita Cornett, Independence, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Mandy Osorio, Brian, Ashley, Joshua, Jonathan and Courtney Brown and Laura Hanes; seven great-grandchildren, Hunter and Brilei Brown, Brittany, Troy, Garity and Bella Hanes and Brayden Michaels.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harold, Leonard and Roger; two sisters, Joan and Bernice; granddaughter, Devon Brown and one nephew, Darrell Wayne Wood; and niece, Mariah Rose Windsor.
Services will be at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010 at 2 p.m. There will be a family visitation on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. Friends may call after 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Monroe cemetery, Ludlow, Mo.

Fredrick “Freddie” L. Ballard
Fredrick “Freddie” L. Ballard, 83, a resident of Cameron, Mo., died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at Missouri Veterans Home, Cameron, Mo.
He was born Feb. 9, 1927 in Gallatin, Mo., the son of Fred and Rosa (Frazier) Ballard. On June 12, 1995 he married Delpha Mae Williams.
He was a manager for Thunderbird Trailer Park in Pomona, Calif., for over 30 years. After that, he was a manager of a trailer park in Albuquerque, N.M. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Freddie is survived by his wife, Delpha, Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Diana Ballard, Jamesport, Mo., Joyce Page, Jamesport, Mo., Betty Maupins, Trenton, Mo.; one brother, Bill Ballard, Loma Linda, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bobby, J.T. and Wesley Ballard and one sister, Mary Margaret Walsh.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 at 1 p.m. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1 p.m. on Thursday at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery, Gallatin, Mo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.

Milton M. Satterlee
Milton M. Satterlee, 65, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 in Valladolid, Spain.
Milton was born Jan. 17, 1945 the son of Carl and Alta (Sprague) Satterlee.
He had resided in Spain since 1971 and was a professor of Foreign Languages (English) at the University of Valladolid.
He is survived by his brother, Mervin Satterlee, Belleville, Ill., several nieces and nephews as well as numerous cousins in the local area.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Melvin Satterlee.
Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Gladys P. Oliver
Gladys P. Oliver, 84, a resident of Breckenridge, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010 at her residence.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1925 in Pulaski, Mo., the daughter of Elish and Ruby (McCowan) Miller. On Aug. 5, 1950 she married William Morris Oliver in Waynesville, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2006.
She is survived by five sons, Ronald, William and George Oliver, all of Breckenridge, Mo., Paul David Oliver, Fort White, Fla., and Leslie Henson, Chillicothe, Mo.; four daughters, Lois Henson, Caney, Kan., Sharon K. Mason, Fort White, Fla., Brenda L. Durnett, Breckenridge, Mo., and Margaret Jones, St. Joseph, Mo.; 26 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, nine brothers and sisters and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be held at Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Mo., on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Rosehill cemetery, Breckenridge, Mo. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Mo. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
