Maggie Lou Collins Curtis
(November 21, 1913 - March 28, 2008)
Graveside services for Mrs. Maggie Lou Collins Curtis of Winona are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, at Oakwood cemetery in Winona, with burial following. Rev. Ed McDaniel will officiate the service. A visitation will be held at Oliver Funeral Home prior to the service, from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m.
Mrs. Curtis died on Friday, March 28, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona. She was 94 years old.
Mrs. Curtis was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Talmadge Collins and the widow of the late Abner Joseph Curtis. She was a homemaker and a member of North Winona Baptist Church in Winona.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Curtis of Boise, Idaho, and Martha Sinquefield of Winona; two sisters, Clara Land of Winona and Frances Autry of Winona; two brothers, Garland Collins of Winona and Eugene Collins of Sturgis; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Paul Sinquefield, Tim Sinquefield, Jason Daves, Allan Pace, Shane Johnson, and Harold Land.

Marie Holmes Rodgers
(September 28, 1916 - April 30, 2008)
Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Holmes Rodgers of Duck Hill are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, at Duck Hill Baptist Church in Duck Hill, with burial following in Duck Hill cemetery in Duck Hill. Rev. Chas Rowland and Bro. Keith Harris will officiate the services. Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at Duck Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Rodgers died from complications following a stroke on Wednesday, April 30, at Grenada Living Center in Grenada. She was 91 years old.
Mrs. Rodgers was the daughter of the late Tom and Leona Sykes Holmes, and the widow of the late Vance Allen Rodgers. She was a homemaker and a member of Duck Hill Baptist Church and its Faith Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two sons, Gary A. Rodgers of Panama City, Florida, and Thomas H. Rodgers of Duck Hill; a sister, Nancy Kirk of Duck Hill; two brothers, Gillon Holmes of Potts Camp and Charles Holmes of Duck Hill; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Taylor Rodgers, Austin Rodgers, Roger Waters, Tim Owens, and Gary Kirk Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Duck Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.

Terry Ellis
(March 8, 1945 - July 7, 2008)
Funeral services for Mrs. Terry Ellis of Kilmichael are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, at McCurtain's Creek Baptist Church near Tomnolen, with burial following in McCurtain's Creek cemetery.
Rev. Don Smith will officiate the services. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ellis died on Monday, July 7, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis. She was 63 years old.
Mrs. Ellis was the widow of the late Billy Lee Ellis and the daughter of the late Daniel Hester Nail and the late Eather Avonell Sledge Nail.
She was the former owner and operator of the Pine Cabin Restaurant in Kilmichael and a member of Kilmichael Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Tabbatha Jefcoat and Glenn Pearson of Kilmichael and Tara Lee Hood and husband, Lloyd, of Hernando; one brother, Danny Nail, Jr., of Kilmichael; three grandchildren, Paige Jefcoat of Kilmichael, and Catherine and Olivia Hood of Hernando; and one great-grandson, Cole Cochran of Kilmichael.

James Morris Biggers, Sr.
(April 16, 1930 - January 21, 2009)
Funeral services for Mr. James Morris Biggers, Sr., of Winona will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 23, at Oliver Chapel, with burial following in Oakwood cemetery in Winona. Rev. T. R. Darsey, assisted by Rev. John L. Walker will officiate the services. Visitation will be Thursday, January 22, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona.
Mr. Biggers died of heart failure on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona. He was 78 years old.
Mr. Biggers was the son of the late James Oscar Biggers and Willie Eloise Duke Biggers. He was disabled and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He attended First Baptist Church in Winona. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the late Vallie Pearl Brister Biggers.
Survivors include three sons, James Morris Biggers, Jr., of Winona, David Biggers of Greenwood, and Tommy Biggers of Holcomb; one sister, Margie Oliver of Winona; and six grandchildren, Matthew Biggers of Brandon, Reid Biggers of Flowood, Jared Biggers of Holcomb, Sarah Biggers of Greenwood, Sydney Biggers of Holcomb, and Justin Biggers of Greenwood.
Pallbearers are Jim Oliver, William "Dickie" Biggers, Karl Oliver, Mike Oliver, Ricky Greenlee, and Larry Bloom.

Loriene Peterson McCrory
(October 17, 1924 - September 14, 2008)
Mrs. Loriene Peterson McCrory died Sunday, September 14, 2008, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona. She had resided at Winona Manor since 2007. She was born icon and raised to adulthood in Buffalo, Texas, and moved to Mississippi after her marriage to Jessie Kirven McCrory on July 17, 1943. They lived and raised their family in the Boyd Community of Carroll County, Mississippi. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church near Carrollton.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, at Moore Memorial cemetery near Carrollton, with Rev. Joseph Sansing officiating.
Mrs. McCrory was the daughter of the late George Cleveland Peterson and Maggie Vann Peterson of Buffalo, Texas. She was born icon on October 17, 1924. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Kirven McCrory, Sr., and her brothers, Jessie James Peterson, John Alex Peterson, George Thomas Peterson; her sister, Ruby Lucille Peterson Wilkins; and her granddaughter, Terri Jo McCrory.
Survivors include her sons, Jessie Kirven McCrory, Jr., and his wife, Shirley, of Carrollton; George Everette McCrory and his wife, Janice, of Carrollton; Kenneth McCrory and his wife, Linda, of Red Oak, Texas; and Danny Trent McCrory and his wife, Mary, of Carrollton; her twin sister, Maudine Peterson Turner of Commerce, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Scott Beck and Mrs. McCrory's grandsons, Rhett McCrory, Scott McCrory, Brook McCrory, Kenny McCrory, and Tully McCrory.

Minnie Lamb Norwood
(July 4, 1922 - August 5, 2010)
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Lamb Norwood of Memphis, formerly of Winona, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 9, at Poplar Creek cemetery in Poplar Creek, with Rev. T. R. Darsey officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 8, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona.
Mrs. Norwood died on Thursday, August 5, 2010, at Poplar Point Health and Rehabilitation in Memphis. She was 88 years old.
Mrs. Norwood was the daughter of the late Benford L. Lamb and the late Esther Holmes Lamb, and the widow of the late Earl David Norwood.
She was a retired cashier for Piggly Wiggly and a Baptist. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ada Lamb Galbrith, Eva Lamb Bowers, Juanita Lamb Palmertree, and Louise Lamb Dicola; and her brothers, Lawrence Lamb, Percy Lamb, and J. M. Lamb.
Survivors include one daughter, Minnie Norwood Garrett of Henryetta, OK; two sons, Earl D. Norwood, Jr., of Ruston, LA, and Roy Lee Norwood of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren, David Garrett of Oklahoma City, OK, Rebecca Garrett Smith of Henryetta, OK, Amelia Dawn Rakestraw of Henryetta, OK, Carey Norwood Hatley of Ruston, LA, Shawn Rae Smallwood of Nashville, TN, and Kelly Jo McBride of Nashville, TN; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Poplar Creek cemetery Fund, c/o Bank of Kilmichael, P. O. Box 187, Kilmichael, MS 39747.

Benjamin Frank Green
(January 1, 1936 - April 6, 2011)
Mr. Benjamin Frank Green of Poplar Creek died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, in a house fire at his residence. He was 75 years old.
A committal service will be held at Mr. Green's home on Tuesday, April 19, at 1:00 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend.
Mr. Green. a retired logger, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Socrates Green. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy Montez of Okeene, Oklahoma; his son, Frank Green, Jr., of Okeene, Oklahoma; two sisters, Elsie Mae Goolsby of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Sadie Anderson of Cordele, Georgia; one brother, James Green of Kilmichael; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ginger Sue Adams
(May 27, 1952 - August 4, 2011)
Ginger Sue Adams, 59, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, August 4, 2011, at her home. She was born icon May 27, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois.
She was a minister and was a member of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward L. Adams, Sr., and Doris Adams; and a brother, Edward L. Adams, Jr.
She is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ronald and Chris Adams, and Joel Adams; one niece, Heather Farmer; four nephews, Kevin Adams, Cameron Adams, Ethan Adams, and Jaron Adams; and a number of aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, at First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas, with the Revs. Jeff Schreve and Larry Sims officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, at Texarkana Funeral Home in Texarkana, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, at Oakwood cemetery in Winona under the direction of Oliver Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends in Winona from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, at Oliver Funeral Hme.

David Nicholas Collins
(January 9, 1982 - October 24, 2013)
Funeral services for David Nicholas Collins of Winona will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Vaiden cemetery in Vaiden.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 27, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Collins, 31, died at his residence on Thursday, October 24.
Mr. Collins was a 2000 graduate of Winona Academy and attended Holmes Community College and Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He was a tremendous University of Mississippi fan. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Collins of Philadelphia; two sons, Christian Collins and Logan Collins of Philadelphia; his mother, Andrea Collins of Winona; his father, David Collins and wife, Vicky, of Starkville; sister, Cassandra "Cass" Collins of San Francisco, CA; maternal grandmother, Fern Tate of Vaiden; paternal grandmother, Rosa Collins of Winona; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Alldread, Jeffrey Boyette, Phillip Tate, Anthony Tate, Randy Sutton, John Luke Weaver, Adam Jones, Travis McDonald, Daniel Patterson, and Jonathan Gibson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ's Cross at the Crossroads in Winona.

Benny Jane Bailey
(July 4, 1944 - October 26, 2014)
Funeral services for Mrs. Benny Jane Bailey of Winona will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, at Community Baptist Church near Kilmichael, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Jerry McNeer and Dr. Susan Murrmann will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 28, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bailey, 70, died of cancer on Sunday, October 26, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice in Collierville, Tennessee. She was born icon on July 4, 1944, in Montgomery County to the late Prince and Lorene McCorkle Knox. She was a homemaker and retired floral designer and a member of Community Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lloyd Bailey.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Cates and her husband, Marshall, of Birmingham, AL, and Cindy Bailey of Memphis, TN; four sisters, Josephine Jones of Redwater, TX, June Clement of Memphis, TN, Shirley Mayo of Kosciusko, Cathy Knox of Memphis, TN; one brother, Mark Knox of New Orleans, LA; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Frank Laney, Benny Rigby, Frank Cates, Dalton Cates, Gale Rogers, and Robbie Card.

Patricia Holman Sterling
(June 27, 1955 - November 17, 2015)
Patricia Holman Sterling, 60, of North Carrollton died of heart failure at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood on Tuesday, November 17. Trish was born icon on June 27, 1955, to the late James Edward and Nell Gray Johnson Holman. She was a licensed practical nurse and a member of North Carrollton United Methodist Church.
Trish is survived by her sister, Stephanie Provine of North Carrollton; one nephew Michael Carpenter (Angela) of Carrollton; four great-nieces, Anna Carpenter, Ashley Carpenter, Marley Carpenter, and Kindle Carpenter; two great-nephews, Brandon Carpenter and Lane Bowen; and a great-great-niece, Aubree Carpenter.
Memorial services for Trish will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 20, at North Carrollton United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ed Saunders officiating.
