J.C. Clark, 74, of Crowder died Saturday, Dec. 14, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 21, at Pope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church at 11 a.m. Dr. Brel Clark will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Shady Grove cemetery in French Camp. Cooley's Mortuary, Inc. has charge of arrangements.

Clark, son of the late Jack Clark and Lena Mae Potts, was born icon May 20, 1928, in French Camp. He was a retired plumber and a member of Shady Grove M.B. Church in French Camp.

Survivors include four daughters, Margie Clark, Sherry Ann Mamon, Joyce Marie Huggins and Shannon Lamberth, all of Batesville; three sons, Kenneth Clark of Batesville; Dr. Brel Clark of Columbus, Ga., Jermal Clark, of Jackson; four sisters, Bobbie Arterberry of French Camp; Norma Docher of New Orleans, La., Willie Mae Dorsey, of Milwaukee, Wis., and Alma Anthony of Ackerman; six brothers, Jamie Lee Clark of French Camp, W.C. Clark and L.J. Clark, both of Weir, Jack Clark of Atlanta, Ga., Robert Clark of Detroit, Mich., and Harvey Lee Clark of McCool; a companion, Mary Watson of Crowder; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Cole, Oddie Alvin, Sr.
Oddie Alvin Cole, Sr., 60, of Cascilla, died Tuesday, January 22, 2002, at his home of cancer.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 24, at 2 p.m. at Paynes Baptist Church in Charleston. Burial was in Magnolia Garden. Newsom Funeral Home had change of arrangements.

Cole, son of Doris Cole of Charleston and the late George L. Cole, was retired from the Mississippi National Guard. He as a concrete construction worker.

Survivors, other than his mother, include his wife, Diane Joiner Cole of Cascilla; a son, Tim Cole of Cascilla; four sisters, Jane Kighten and Faye Starnes, both of Cascilla, Mary Morgan of Oakland, and Vernie Jones of West Point; four brothers, Larry Cole of Cascilla, Terry Cole of Charleston, G.L. Cole, Jr., of Greenville, and Bob Cole of Greenfield, Tennessee; and two grandchildren.

Collier, Thomas Augusta
Thomas Augusta "Gus" Collier, 61, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, formerly of Pope, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from injuries sustained in a bicycle accident.

Graveside services were held Friday, July 5, at 4 p.m., at Batesville Magnolia cemetery. Rev. Doug Pepper officiated the service. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Collier, son of the late William Howard and Mary Louise Tidwell Collier, was born icon November 29, 1940, in Pope. He was a retired lawn maintenance employee and a Baptist.

Survivors include a brother, Howard Gerald Collier of Denham Springs; and a sister, Doris Collier Wallace of Springfield, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to Batesville Magnolia cemetery, P.O. Box 302, Batesville, Mississippi 38606.

Collins, Willis Greenville
Willis Greenville "Jack" Collins, 88, of Clarksdale, died Thursday, August 15, 2002, at Clarksdale Nursing Center of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 18, at 2 p.m. at Kimbro Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Smithey officiated the service. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Clarksdale. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Collins, son of the late Lucius and Roxanne Logan Collins, was born icon October 16, 1913, in Vardaman. He was a retired farmer and a member of West Marks Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Phillip D. Collins of Clarksville, Arkansas; a daughter, Renelda June Yount of Jacksonville, Florida; a sister, Udela Owens of Sugarland, Texas; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Conard, Mae Lean
Conard, 59, of Water Valley, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at her home of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 13, at noon at Springhill North M.B. Church in Water Valley. Burial was in the church cemetery. Nicholson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Conard, daughter of Lillie B. Phillips of Water Valley and the late Harvey Phillips, was born icon July 26, 1942, in Yalobusha County. She was disabled and a member of Springhill North M.B. Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Mae Nell Conard, Annie O. Conard, Brenda Conard and Carol Conard, all of Water Valley; five sons, Enos Conard, Joe L. Conard, Simpson Conard, and Walter Conard, all of Water Valley, and Percy Lee Phillips of Waterloo, Iowa; four sisters, Mattie Williams and Emma L. Clark, both of Water Valley, Roberta Jackson of Coffeeville and Martha Murray of Oxford; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Conrad, Lola
Lola Conrad, 83, of Sardis, died Saturday, August 10, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 17, at Pleasant Green M.B. Church. Rev. W. O. McKinney officiated the service. Burial was in the church cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Conrad, daughter of the late John Salter and Beatrice Hall, was born icon November 24, 1918, in Mississippi. She attended school in Panola County. She was a farmer and a member of Pleasant Green M.B. Church.

Survivors include a son, Jimmie Rucnir of Inkster, Michigan; four sisters, Bessie Turner, Maude Robison and Evilena Hibbler, all of Sardis, and Annie R. Fort of Sikeston, Missouri; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Cook, Mary Louise Hall
Mary Louise Hall Cook, 78, of Crowder, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Quitman County Hospital in Marks of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 2, at 2 p.m. at Kimbro Funeral Home. Rev. Ben James officiated the service. Burial was in Crowder cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Cook, daughter of the late Benton and Myrtle Hall, was born icon June 6, 1924, in Jasper, Alabama. She was retired from Garan, Inc. and a member of Crowder Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Greely Clifton Cook.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Griffin of Crowder; a son, George Cook of Crowder; a brother, Junior Hall of Vicksburg; two sisters, Willie Grace Hall and Helen Hall, both of Vicksburg; three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Crowder Baptist Church Building Fund.

Cooper, Annie Bell
Annie Bell Cooper, 51, of Batesville, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 6, at 2 p.m. at Eureka A.M.E. Zion Church in Courtland. Burial was in the church cemetery. Cooley's Mortuary, Inc. had charge of arrangements.

Cooper, daughter of Vernice Ellis of Batesville and the late Charlie Ellis, was born icon August 29, 1950, in Batesville. She was a cook and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Survivors, other than her mother, include two daughters, Ann Marie Ellis of Batesville and Jacquiline Dolores Cooper of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; six brothers, Walter Ellis, James Ellis, and George Ellis, all of Memphis, Tennessee, Warren G. Ellis, Willie B. Ellis and Foster Patton, all of Batesville; and four sisters, Katherine Ellis, Rosie Sanders and Bonnie Corley, all of Batesville, and Eula Mae Ellis of Memphis.

Cooper, Hannah
Hannah Cooper, 75, of Crowder, died Friday, July 5, 2002, at Alliance Health Care System in Holly Springs of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at Cooley's Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Zannie Leland, Jr. officiated the service. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery in Crowder. Cooley's Mortuary, Inc. had charge of arrangements.

Cooper, daughter of the late George Coats and Millie Baker, was born icon July 16, 1926, in Belzona. She was a homemaker and a member of Valley Queen M.B. Church.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Mary Watson of Crowder, who cared for her.

Cosby, James Edwin
James Edwin Cosby, 73, of Courtland, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 4, at 11 a.m. at Dickins Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. John Ford and Rev. Wiley Newby officiated the service. Burial was in Shiloh cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Cosby, son of the late John Davidson and Minnie Lois Sturgis Cosby, was born icon November 5, 1928, in Panola County. He was a retired truck driver and a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Water Valley.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred McDowell Cosby of Courtland; a daughter, Ouida Joyce Smith of Bartlett, Tennessee; two sons, Ronald Edwin Cosby of Batesville and Dennis Ray Cosby of Courtland; a sister, Betty Jean Crogan of Water Valley; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Shiloh cemetery, Batesville, Mississippi.

Craig, Margaret McKee
Margaret Craig, 73, of Merigold (formerly of Batesville), died Monday, October 28, 2002, at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home. Rev. Sid Harriton officiated the services. Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, at Magnolia cemetery in Batesville.

Craig, daughter of the late Walter and Lois Butler McKee, was born icon February 3, 1929 in Red Bay, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ross Craig, and son, Thomas L. Estes.

Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Estes Mullins of Merigold; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Batesville Presbyterian Church or the First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland.

Crocker, George Luther
George Luther Crocker, 55, of Water Valley, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 27, at 2 p.m. at Springdale Family Worship Center. Burial was in Jumpers Chapel cemetery. Seven Oaks Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Crystal McCoy of Water Valley; two sons, George T. Crocker and Donnie W. Crocker, both of Water Valley; five sisters, Helen Wright of Grenada, Dorothy Carroll of Greenwood, Lois Gore of Coffeeville, Hazel Pierce of Batesville and Merale Culver of Waterforth; two brothers, Raymond Crocker of Coffeeville and Leon Crocker of Oakland; and eight grandchildren.
