Sanders, Nancy Marie
Nancy Marie Sanders, 75, of Pope, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in Pope.

Services were Saturday at Sardis Lake Baptist Church. Burial was at Sardis Lake Baptist Church cemetery.

Sanders, was a graduate of Humes High School, a member of Sardis Lake Baptist Church and retired after 30 years with Kimberly Clark.

She is preceded in death by one daughter Cheryl P. Oschner.

Survivors include her husband Otis S. Sanders of Pope; one daughter Alice M. Tillie of Pope and one son Fred W. Sanders of Bartlett, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to LeBonheur Children's Hospital.

Sanders, Patsy Vanlandingham
Patsy Vanlandingham Sanders, 62, of Marks, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at her residence.

Services were Monday at National Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Burial was in Memorial Gardens in Clarksdale. Rev. Charlie Cooper officiated. National Funeral Home had charge.

Sanders was born icon Feb. 23, 1941 in Sunflower County. She graduated from high school in Dublin and was a retired bookkeeper and a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband Jimmy Sanders of Marks; three sisters, Katherine Lunceford of Jackson, Corrine Scheider of Indianola and Shirley Finn of Clarksdale; one brother Bobby Vanlandingham of Clarksdale and two grandchildren.

Sanders was preceded in death by one brother B.D. Vanlandingham. The family requests all memorials be mailed to West Cancer Foundation in Memphis or Baptist Children's Village in Jackson.

Sanders, Robert Jr. (Baby Brother)
Robert Sanders Jr. (Baby Brother), 56, of Senatobia, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at his residence.

Services were Thursday at West Looxahoma Church of Christ of Senatobia. Burial was at West Looxahoma Church of Christ Church cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.

Sanders, was a member of Macedonia M.B. Church of Senatobia and a custodian at the Senatobia Middle School.

Survivors are his wife Patricia Ann Sanders; two daughters, Pamela Sanders and Rosella Williams, both of Memphis; six sisters, Vernell Garrett, Birther Humphrey, Rosie Bowen and Vearnesa Leverson, all of Senatobia, Winnie Sander of Como, Alice King and Frani Davis, both of Memphis; two brothers, Willie B. King and Willie Lee King, both of Memphis and five grandchildren. He also leaves a special friend Catherine Toney.

Sanders, Ruby Jean
Ruby Jean Sanders, 67, of Barton, died Sunday, May 11, 2003.

Services were Wednesday at Collierville F.H. in Collierville, Tenn. Burial was at Magnolia cemetery in Collierville, Tenn. Collierville Funeral Home had charge.

Sanders attended First Baptist Church Mt. Pleasant.

She is preceded in death by her husband James R. Sanders.

Survivors include one daughter Loretta Jean Meadows of Barton; two sons, Ronald Sanders of Southaven and James Kevin Sanders of Horn Lake; two sisters Verna Coston of Elkmont, Ala. and Celestine H. Brown of Dallas, Texas; four brothers, Charles Buford Herring of Louisville, Texas, Jimmy Wayne Herring of Hartselle, Ala., Michael Anthony Herring of Portland, Ore., and Bobby Herring of Texas; five grandsons and three great-grandchildren.

Sanford, Charles
Charles Sanford, 71, of Courtland, died Wednesday, August 6, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services were Tuesday at Pope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Pope. Burial was at Pope Chapel cemetery. Rev. William C. Bailey officiated. Cooley's Mortuary had charge.

Sanford, born icon Sept. 11, 1931, to the late G.W. Sanford and the late Lizzie Lee Blackburn, was disabled and a member of Pope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.

Survivors include four brothers, Layran Sanford, Washington Sanford, both of Courtland, Jonathon "Nay" Sanford and Levon Sanford, both of Detroit, Mich. and one sister Dorothy Mae Coleman of Detroit, Mich.

Sanford, George
George Sanford, 81, of Memphis, died Friday, June 20, 2003, at VA Medical Center.

Services were Sunday at M.J. Edwards Funeral Home Airways Chapel. Burial was at West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. M.J. Edwards Funeral Home had charge.

Sanford was a retired employee of Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include three sisters, Zoda Butler of Los Angeles, Calif., Quanita Smith of Compton, Calif. and Effie Boothe of Whites Creek, Tenn. and two brothers, Harry Sanford of Brownsville, Tenn. and Lonnie Harrison of Clarksdale, Miss.

Sanford, Sallie
Sallie Sanford, 75, of Courtland died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at her residence.

Funeral services are today at 1 p.m. at Olive Ray M.B. Church in Pope. Rev. L.C. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Olive Ray cemetery. Cooley's Mortuary has charge.

Sanford, born icon Sept. 7, 1927, to the late Sam Ford and the late Lena Anderson, was a housewife and a member of Cotton Plant A.M.E. Zion Church in Batesville.

Survivors include her step-mother Claudia Ford of Chicago, Ill.; four daughters, Anetta Lloyd of Pope, Evelyn Proctor and Joyce Carter, both of Memphis and Kay Louis Ramsey of Hillcrest, Md.; three brothers, Earl Ford of Memphis, Paul Ford and Vincent Ford, both of Chicago, Ill.; six sisters, Almire Ford of Atlanta, Ga., Annie M. Tucker, Clara Davis, Claudine Ford and Lisa Ford, all of Chicago, Ill. and Louise Adams of Los Angeles, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Sanford, Reginald Dewayne
Reginald Dewayne Sanford, 24, of Courtland, died Monday, August 4, 2003, at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia.

Services were Saturday at Batesville Intermediate School Auditorium. Burial was at Johnson Chapel in Courtland. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.

Sanford was a cashier, a choir director of Johnson Chapel Church and a life member of Johnson Chapel Church.

Survivors include his parents James Sanford and Betty Lee Sanford of Courtland; two sisters Cassandra Cox of Courtland and D'Shanta Catching of Senatobia; four brothers, Tyrone Sanford, Derrick Sanford, Terrill Sanford and Lavette Smalley, all of Courtland and his grandparents, Nona Sanford, Jessie Sanford and Lucie Robertson.

Savage, Pamela Brown
Pamela Brown Savage, 44, of Batesville, died Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas of heart failure.

Services were Sunday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was at Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Savage, was a waitress.

Survivors include her husband James David Savage of Liverpool, Texas; three daughters, Jacquelyn Savage Pouncey of Rosharon, Texas, Jamie Savage of Batesville and Jodie Savage Smith of Darling; three brothers, Dennis Brown of Como, Jerry Brown of Alvin, Texas and Jimmy R. Brown Jr. of Batesville; her step-mother Tomme N. McAllister Brown of Batesville and five grandchildren.

Scruggs, Laura Jewel
Laura Jewel Scruggs, stillborn, of Sardis, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Graveside services were Wednesday at Cold Springs cemetery in Batesville. Moore Funeral Home in Sardis had charge.

Survivors include her parents, Thomas L. Scruggs and Cindy Hughes Scruggs of Sardis; one sister Leslie Nicole Scruggs of Sardis; her grandparents, Lottie Scruggs of Batesville, Martha Scruggs of Sardis, Mr. and Mrs. Benton Brewer of Oxford and J.T. Hughes of Oxford.

Seay, Joshua Field
Joshua Field Seay, 33, of Chapel Hill, N.C., died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003.

A memorial service was Saturday at WalkerÕs Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Seay, born icon Dec. 23, 1969, to James Seay and Lee Smith, attended Chapel Hill public schools and UNC-Asheville. He was employed by Akai Hana Japanese Restaurant in Carrboro and he also assembled a tape of his compositions he entitled "Five Not So Easy Pieces."

Survivors include his father James Seay; his mother Lee Smith; his step-mother Caroline Seay; his step-father Harold Crowther; one step-sister Amity Crowther of Chapel Hill, N.C. and one brother Page Seay of Nashville, Tenn.

Selby, Sandra Houston
Sandra Houston Selby, 59, of Marks, died Monday, September 1, 2003, at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Services were Wednesday at West Marks Baptist Church. Burial was at Marks cemetery. Rev. Tim Mims and Mike Smithey officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Selby, born icon Oct. 11, 1943, to the late Fred Houston and Alyne Lewis, was a retired auto repair shop owner and a member of West Marks Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Sammy Selby.

Survivors include his mother Alyne Lewis of Clarksdale; one daughter Pam Selby Weaver of Marks; one son Scotty Selby; one brother Kenneth Ray Houston and two grandchildren, Claiborne and Colton Selby White.
