Frank Rudd Jr., 60, of Courtland, died Thursday, September 18, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services were Wednesday at Spring Hill M.B. Church in Pope. Burial was at Spring Hill cemetery. Rev. Stephen P. Walker officiated. Cooley's Mortuary had charge.

Rudd, born icon Jan. 13, 1943, to the late Frank Rudd and Addie Thornton Rudd, was an employee at Parker Hannifin, a member of Spring Hill M.B. Church in Pope and a deacon.

Survivors include his mother Addie Rudd of Pope; his wife Mary V. Rudd of Courtland; one step-son Marshall Griffin of Courtland; one step-daughter Shirley Bradley of Milwaukee, Wis.; two brothers, Jessie Rudd and Willie Rudd, both of Pope; one sister Nora Adams of Memphis; two step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.

Russell, Loretta Lee Elliot
Loretta Lee Elliot Russell, 67, of Crowder, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at Q.C. Hospital in Marks.

Services were Wednesday at Crowder Baptist Church. Burial was at Crowder cemetery. Rev. Truman Scarbrough officiated.

Russell, born icon April 11, 1936, to the late Joseph Albert Elliot and the late Evelyn Lee Warrington Elliot was a homemaker and a member of Crowder Baptist Church. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Survivors include her husband W.R. Russell of Crowder; two sons, Jimmy Ray Russell of Lambert and Ronnie Russell of Grenada; two daughters, Vickie Rockwood of Crowder and Diane Henson of Lambert; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Russell, Martha West Bruckner
Martha West Bruckner Russell, 84, of Batesville, died Monday, May 19, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center of heart failure.

Services were Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Loxahoma Church of Christ cemetery in Loxahoma. Mr. Robert Rawson and Mr. Michael Bates officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Russell, born icon Oct. 16, 1918, to the late Albert Lon and Brightie Womack West, was a member of Batesville Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband Curtis A. Russell of Lexington, Tenn.; three daughters, Gwen Bruckner Hulgan of Baton Rouge, La., Alicia Bruckner Flint and Amy Bruckner Crume, both of Batesville; two step-daughters, Valinda Russell Nobles of Jackson, Tenn. and Lavonda Russell Roberts of Lexington, Tenn.; one step-son Charles Russell of Rugby, Tenn.; one brother Lamar "Sonny" West of Loxahoma; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pritchard, Donna Rachelle Eastridge
Donna Rachelle Eastridge Pritchard, 35, of Pope, died Monday, September 15, 2003, at Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

Services were Wednesday at Bethel Methodist Church in Enid. Burial was at Bethel cemetery. Newsom Funeral Home in Charleston had charge.

Pritchard, born icon Jan. 6, 1968, to Donald and Rachel Eastridge, was a financial manager at Quality Foods in Batesville.

Survivors include her parents Donald and Rachel Eastridge of Meridian; two sons, Donovan Goad and Sy Pritchard, both of Pope; two sisters, Rita Eastridge Carruth and Shannon Eastridge, both of Meridian; one brother Bennett Eastridge of Meridian; one nephew J.J. Zettler of Meridian and two nieces, Lauren Zettler and Rachel Blake Eastridge, both of Meridian.

Pruett, Audrey Jones
Audrey Jones Pruett, 50, of Batesville, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003 at Quitman County Hospital of cancer.

Services were Wednesday at Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks. Burial was at Marks cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Pruett, born icon March 12, 1953, to the late Jessie Homer Jones and the late Lorene Pierce Jones, was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Heather Emery of Crowder and Stacy Pruett of Batesville; two sons, Shane Pruett of Batesville and Jason Pruett of Atoka, Tenn.; one brother Homer Donald Jones of Converse, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren.

Pund, Jean K.
Jean K. Pund, 70, of Batesville, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at her residence of heart failure.

Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Batesville. Burial is at 3 p.m. at Greenville cemetery in Greenville. Father Sam Godfrey and Father Tom Hastings will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Pund, born icon March 13, 1933, to the late Waymond Daniel and the late Ernestine Pitman Keel, was a retired real estate sales lady and a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her husband William A. "Billy" Pund of Batesville; one daughter Tara Jennings Alt of New Orleans, La.; one son Walter E. Dye of Batesville; two sisters, Carolyn Keel Campbell and Dorothy Keel Etheridge, both of Sarasota, Fla.; three granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.

Luxton, Gerald
Gerald Luxton, 83, of Batesville, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at his home of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 12, at 2:00, p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Interment was at Fairview cemetery. Rev. Robert Rawson officiated services. Wells Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Luxton, born icon April 11, 1919 in Linton, Ind. to the late George and Mary Imrie Luxton, was a retired self-employed insurance agent and a member of Batesville Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary D. Luxton of Batesville; two sons, Ronald Luxton of Miami, Fla. and Daniel Luxton of Lansing, Mich.; two step-daughters, Deloris Weaver Craddock of Clarksdale, and Carloyn Ann Weaver Hazelip of Nashville, Tenn.; one brother, Roy Luxton of Rodchester Hills, Mich.; two grandsons; six step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren.

Frost, Johnnye
Johnnye Frost, 81, of Sardis, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 24, at 11 a.m. at Henderson Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in Eureka cemetery in Courtland. Henderson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Frost, son of the late Tommy Frost and Ora Pearl, was born icon November 6, 1921, in Mississippi. He attended Panola County schools and was a retired construction worker.

Survivors include his wife, Alma Frost of Sardis; four daughters, Joyce DeJesus of Joenson, Michigan, Mattie Cheek of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Pearl Tolbert of Dallas, Texas, and Dianne Frost of Sardis; five sons, Tommie Frost of Battle Creek, Michigan, Johnnie Frost of Joenson, Michigan, Willie Frost of Los Angeles, California, Major Frost of Inglewood, California, and James Henderson of Kingport, Tennessee; a sister, Beulah Miller of Memphis; and 20 grandchildren.

Fulghum, James E. Sr.
James E. Fulghum, Sr., 65, of Batesville, formerly of Memphis, Tennessee, died Monday, June 3, 2002, at his home of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 4, at 10 a.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Derrick Simmons officiated the service. Burial was in Memorial Hill Gardens in Memphis. Wells Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Fulghum, son of the late John Elbert and Estelle G. George Fulghum, was born icon December 13, 1926, in Memphis. He was the owner of AA Battery and Air Conditioner Service in Memphis for 42 years. He was nationally recognized for sales and marketing in the mobile air conditioning industry. He retired in 1990. He was the founder and member of the Memphis Rodders Car Club, and was present at the first Daytona 500 race when they started racing on the track. He raced the opening night at Riverside Speedway. He was also a participant in the 1956 NHRA Nationals in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a member of First Faith Baptist Church in Batesville, was an avid football fan of the University of Memphis Tigers, and was a member of the Highland 100 Club. He belonged to the Al Chymia Shrine Temple and served as past president of the motor division. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW in Olive Branch.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Elaine Fulghum of Batesville; two daughters, Patricia L. Fulghum and Glynda Jane Fulghum, both of Memphis; two sons, James E. Fulghum, Jr. and Harold Fulghum, both of Memphis; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Faith Baptist Church, Al Chymia Shrine Temple in Memphis, or Hospice South.

Franklin, Woodrow
Woodrow 'Woody' Franklin, 83, of Batesville, died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. at Dickins Chapel. Rev. Doug Pepper officiated the service.

Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Franklin, son of the late Richard and Hattie Anderson Franklin, was born icon April 27, 1919, in Panola County. He was a retired carpenter for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and the 32nd Scottish Rite Mason.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Veedy Kennedy Franklin of Batesville; four daughters, Donna Turner and Tammy Franklin, both of Batesville, Sheila Ragon of Courtland and Cheryl Elkins of Lawton, Oklahoma; a son, Paul Franklin of Batesville; a brother, John Franklin of Batesville; a sister, Cornelia McCullar of Como; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church cemetery Fund, 60 Hunt Road, Batesville, Miss. 38606.

Gann, Martha Caroline
Martha Caroline "Callie" Gann, 95, of Sledge, died Friday, February 22, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare in Amory of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 25, at 11 a.m. at Dickins Chapel. Rev. Terry Hunley officiated the service. Burial was in Pleasant Grove cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Gann, daughter of the late Hugh and Sally Floyd Hamblin, was born icon April 11, 1906, in Houlka. She was a housewife and a member of Hollywood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Wiley Gann.

Survivors include a son, Travis Gann of Bartlett, Tennessee; a daughter, Nellie Watson of Sarah; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
