Milam, Georgia Rozetta Watson
Georgia Rozetta Watson Milam, 95, formerly of Batesville, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at Hot Springs Pines Nursing Home.

Services were Saturday at Dickins Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville. Burial was in McIvor cemetery. Rev. Jerry Sanford officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Milam, born icon Feb. 25, 1909, to the late George Cleveland and the late Willie Ann Bray Watson, was a housewife and a member of the McIvor Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, James Carlton Milam of Ripley, George Jefferson Milam of Coldwater and Henry Michael Milam of Sugarland, Texas; three daughters, Velma Lois Givens and Hazel Ann Penny, both of Hot Spring, Ark. and Grace Imogene Milam Bradley of Horn Lake; 30 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 16 great great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to McIvor cemetery, c/o Peggy Towles, 103 Wilson Rd., Batesville, MS 38606. She was preceded in death by Willie Jo Edie.

Milam, Mary Louis Brassell
Mary Louis Brassell Milam, 58, of Batesville, died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at her residence of heart disease.

Services were Thursday at New Bethel M.B. Church in Darling. Burial was in Squirel Lake cemetery. Delta Burial Corporation of Marks had charge.

Milam was a housewife and a pastor wife of New Bethel of Darling, Rock Hill of Oxford and New Enon of Water Valley.

Survivors include her husband Rev. Fonzo Milam Sr. of Batesville; ten daughters, Mary Toliver of Olive Branch, Shirley Jean Harrell of Crowder, Carolyn Ann Cole, Ethyl L. Austin, Annie Key, Lorretta Chapman, Neshell Sanford, Sandra Louise Milam, Sabrina Young and Tonya Teresa Milam, all of Batesville; six sons, Fonzo Milam Jr., James Curtis Milam, Dreyso Delango Brassell, Michael LeWayne Brassell and Reginald Vincent Milam, all of Batesville and Bobby Joe Milam of Chicago, Ill.; one sister Bessie Ann Bibbs of Memphis; one brother Henry Brassell Jr. of Memphis; 54 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Miller, Clyde
Clyde Miller, 81, of Hernando, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at his residence.

Miller, born icon July 30, 1923, to the late James Andrew Miller and the late Nannie Ruth Miller, was employed with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture-ASCS Office in Calhoun City for 28 years, a Navy veteran in World War II, a member of the Hernando Baptist Church, a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in agriculture administration and was an avid Mississippi State football fan. He was very active in the Calhoun City Lions Club and was a former District Governor of the Lions Club. He was a member of MACOE (Mississippi Association of County Office Employees) and he was married icon to his wife, Muriel for 54 years.

Services were Friday at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Calhoun City. Pryor Funeral Home had charge.

He was preceded in death by his brother Dr. Edwin Miller.

Survivors include his wife Muriel Tyrone Miller of Hernando; one daughter Gail Hannaford of Batesville; one sister Alta Spivey of Batesville and two grandchildren, Laura Hannaford and Lacy Hannaford.

Miller, Robert Franklin "Bob"
Robert Franklin "Bob" Miller, 73, of Batesville, died Monday, September 13, 2004, at his residence.

Miller, born icon Feb. 17, 1931, to the late Laughter Miller and the late Mary Ruth Thompson Miller, was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean Conflict-U.S. Navy and V.F.W., Batesville Jaycees and had a degree with the Institute of Graphological Service.

Graveside services were Monday at Hebron Baptist cemetery. Rev. Tim Ellis officiated. Burial was at Hebron Baptist cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Survivors include his wife Bernita Bland Miller of Batesville; one son Timothy F. Miller of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Shelia S. Miller of Brandon and Kristie Miller Milam of Oxford; four grandchildren, Audra Miller Lott, Molly Ann Miller, T.J. Miller and Cade Milam and one great-grandchild Brandy Rae Lott.

Mills, Annie Mae
Annie Mae Mills, 71, of Darling, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Services were Friday at Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks. Burial was in Marks cemetery. Rev. Lester McMullen officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Mills, born icon April 25, 1932, to the late Barney and late Clara Paxton Brown, was a homemaker and a member of Darling Baptist Church. She was the founder of the Robyn's Stars, softball team, in support of Robyn Williams and LeBonheur and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include two sons, Eddie Skelton of Darling and Jerr D. "Dina" Mills of Ocean Springs; two daughters, Pat Smith of Darling and Tracy Mills of Senatobia; two brothers, Jimmy Brown of Columbia, S.C. and Sonny Mordecai of Indianola; three sisters, Billie Jean Ware of Houston, Texas, Ruby Patrick of Alabama and Catherine Cummblin of Gulfport; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Quitman County Hospital and Nursing Home.

Mister, Dennis Sr.
Dennis Mister Sr., 84, of Batesville, formerly of Scoby, died Sunday, August 8, 2004, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Persimmon Hill M.B. Church in Enid. Burial is at Parrish Grove cemetery in Enid. Bishop E.M. Fondren will officiate. Eddie Robinson and Son Funeral Home has charge.

Survivors include three brothers; one sister; eight sons; two daughters; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mixon, Elsie W. Rutledge
Batesville, MS - Elsie W. Rutledge Mixon, 79, of Batesville, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford of heart failure.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Water Valley. Rev. James West will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Mixon, born icon Nov. 17, 1924 in Batesville, to the late Bryce and the late Tommie Darby Rutledge Sr, was a Methodist.

Survivors include her spouse James Thomas Mixon of Oxford; three daughters, Joyce Mixon Ferguson of Independence, Patti Mixon Wright of Horn Lake and Ginger Mixon Hunter of Rodchester, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jim T. Mixon.

Monroe, Harvey Lee
Harvey Lee Monroe, 78, of Sardis, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at his residence of cancer.

Services were Saturday at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Sardis. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Rev. Jerry Sanford officiated. Moore Funeral Home had charge.

Monroe, born icon Dec. 24, 1925, to the late William Fred Monroe and the late Annie Ricketts Monroe, was a retired salesman for Harvey Candy Company.

Survivors include his wife Jessie Hill Monroe of Sardis; four daughters, Pat Eubanks, Charlotte Evans and Debbie Ford, all of Cabot, Ark. and Carla Edlin of Sardis; one sister Marjorie Richards of Lemon Grove, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Moore, Gloria Jean Byars
Gloria Jean Byars Moore, 53, of Southaven, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at her residence.

Memorial services are Saturday, at 3 p.m. at Forest Hill South Chapel. Forest Hill South Funeral Home has charge.

Moore, born icon to Lola Byars Lipford and the late James William Byars, was a homemaker and a graduate of Horn Lake High School.

Survivors include two daughters, Tamera Kay Farris Kearns of Horn Lake and Lola Jean Moore of Southaven; three sons, Ronald Lester Farris Jr. and James Shannon Farris, both of Southaven and Leonard Leon Moss Jr. of Corinth; her mother Lola Byars Lipford of Southaven; grandmother Gertrude Elizabeth Byars of Water Valley; and 10 grandchildren.

James A. Moore, 76, of Oakland, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford of heart failure.

Services were Sunday, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville. Burial was in Magnolia cemetery in Batesville. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Moore, born icon May 14, 1927, to the late James H. and late Fannie Gaines Moore, was a desk clerk for Skyline Motel and a member of Newhope Church of God in Batesville. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Survivors include his wife Willie Mae Bradley Moore of Oakland; two sons, Terry W. Moore of Batesville and Christopher A. Moore of Oakland; and four grandchildren.

Moore, Mary Annette
Sardis, Miss. - Mary Annette Moore, 79, of Sardis, died Saturday, August 14, 2004, at Sardis Nursing Home.

Graveside services were Monday at Batesville Magnolia cemetery. Burial was at Batesville Magnolia cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Moore, born icon April 21, 1925, to the late James Calvin Durham and the late Carra Griste Durham, was a homemaker, a member of Crowder Methodist Church and a graduate of Northwest Community College.

Survivors include one brother Royce Durham of Batesville.

Memorials may be sent to Batesville Magnolia cemetery, P.O. Box 302, Batesville.
