SARDIS, MS - Hudson Lewis, 54, construction worker, died of heart failure Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Mt. Level Missionary Baptist Church in Como, where he was a member, with burial in Mt. Level cemetery. Cooley's Mortuary of Batesville has charge. Mr. Lewis, the husband of Georgia Lewis, also leaves a daughter, Shelia Lewis of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons, Anthony Lewis and Patrick Lewis, both of Sardis; four sisters, Odessa Wesley of Sardis, Doshia Lewis of Memphis, and Savannah Hopsin and Isabelle Lewis, both of Flint, Mich.; two brothers, John Lewis of Batesville and Roosevelt Lewis of Chicago, and a grandchild.

SARDIS, MS - Laura Christine Lockhart, 91, homemaker, died of respiratory failure Wednesday at Methodist Hospital South in Memphis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Moore Funeral Home with burial in Peach Creek cemetery. She was a member of Peach Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Lockhart, the widow of Gabriel E. Lockhart, leaves six daughters, Virginia Merrell of Benson, Ariz., Madge May of Walls, Ouida Adsmond of Carthage, Tenn., Gladys Phillips of Cordova, Tenn., Billie Fay Lewellyn of Lonoke, Ark., and Lorene Borden of Walls; two sons, Ernest Lockhart of Killeen, Texas, and Henry Paul Lockhart of Niceville, Fla.; a sister, Rosie Scott of Strayhorn, 31 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

WILLIAM FRED CARR, 75, of Horn Lake, Miss., retired employee from McLean Truck Line, died Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven after a heart attack. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens. Forest Hill Funeral Home South has charge. He was a Baptist and a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Carr, the husband of Maxine Jones Carr, also leaves three daughters, Dottie Hanks of Germantown, Pat Plumley of Potts Camp, Miss., and Marilyn Fisher of Memphis; three sons, Billy Carr of Memphis, Johnny Carr of Ashland, Miss., and Richard Carr of Horn Lake; a sister, Lillie Camp of Walls, Miss.; a brother, Henry Carr of Brandon, Miss., 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

JAMES ABBEY BLACKBURN, 75, of Coldwater, Miss., formerly of Memphis, retired truck driver, died of heart failure Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford, Miss. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Magnolia cemetery in Coldwater. C. O. Pate Funeral Home of Senatobia, Miss., has charge. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mrs. Dye, the widow of Carl Leslie Dye, leaves a daughter, Penny Lutz of Walls, Miss.; four sisters, Linda Gatewood of Eudora, Miss., Martha Perry of Horn Lake, Miss., and Marie Eppinette and Molly Riley, both of Memphis; a brother, George Grady of Horn Lake, and a grandchild. Bank, died Tuesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital after a heart attack. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hickory Ridge United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with burial at 5 p.m. in Stoneville (Miss.) cemetery. He was a World War II Merchant Marines veteran and a member of Railroad Retirement Club of South Memphis.
