FAYETTE -- Services for Elbert Thompson, 58, of Fayette, who died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at Claiborne County Hospital in Port Gibson, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Rose Hill No. 2 Baptist Church with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hollywood Baptist Church cemetery in Fayette under the direction of Spencer Funeral.

Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Sunday at the church.

Mr. Thompson was born icon Jan. 1, 1944, in Jefferson County, the son of the Rev. Robert and Minerva Lewis Thompson.

He was a member of Rose Hill No. 2 Baptist Church where he served as an usher and was affiliated with Prince Hall Lodge No. 202 of Jefferson County. He attended Liddell High School of Jefferson County, began working at Westinghouse/Cooper Lighting in 1966 and was a member of Cooper IBEW Local 1873.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his father parents; two brothers, James Herrington and Charlie Johnson; one brother-in-law, Melvin George; and one sister-in-law, Loretta Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Mae Thompson of Fayette; one son, Elbert "Hook" Thompson and his wife, Deshantra, both of Fayette; one daughter, Katrina Shaw and her husband, Eric, both of Frisco, Texas; two grandchildren, Alexis Thompson of Fayette and Austin Shaw of Frisco; three brothers, Lewis Thompson and his wife, Barbara, and Larry Thompson, all of Fayette, and Robert Thompson Jr. and his wife, Joyce, both of Prince George, Va.; four sisters, Rosie L. George Turner and her husband, Monroe, Matie Wicks and her husband, Dallas, Mary L. Payne and her husband, Noah, and Catherine Williams and her husband, Rayford, all of Fayette; one uncle, Nehemiah Thompson of Port Gibson; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends and co-workers of Cooper Lighting of Vicksburg.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Thompson, Robert Thompson, Larry Thompson, Dallas Wicks, Noah Payne, John A. Ware, Donail Ware, Eric Michael Shaw, Kevin Savoie, Rayford Williams Sr. and Rayford Williams Jr.

Charles Wesley

Froust Jr.

June 2, 1969 -- July 17, 2002

MEADVILLE -- Services for Charles Wesley "Moonie" Froust Jr., 33, of Meadville, who died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at his residence, will be at 3 p.m. today at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Wallace cemetery in Franklin County under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. Froust was born icon June 2, 1969, in Brookhaven, the son of Charles Wesley and Bessie May McFarland Froust Sr.

He was a foreman with Priest Brothers Logging in Meadville.

Mr. Froust was preceded in death by one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Paige Causey Froust of Meadville; his parents of Meadville; one son, Vincent Froust of Meadville; one stepson, Austin Hite of Meadville; and three sisters, Bessie Faye Watts of Bude, LaVoyce Boggs of McComb and Denise Jones of Meadville.

Pallbearers will be Jack Dunn, Jackie Priest, Buster Middleton, Leroy McFarland Jr., Dale Deir and Jams "Rat" Rancifer Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmie Priest, Lonnie Causey and David McFarland.

Harvey Houston

Collins Jr.

Jan. 3, 1925 -- July 18, 2002

CHURCH HILL -- Services for Harvey Houston Collins Jr., 77, of Natchez, who died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. today at Church Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Julie Collins officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Collins was born icon Jan. 3, 1925, in Shelby, the son of Harvey Houston and Jewel Marie Foster Collins Sr.

He was a member of Trace City Baptist Church and an Earth Team volunteer for the USDA National Resource Conservation Service. After retiring from Natchez Equipment, he owned his own lawn maintenance business in the Natchez and Church Hill areas.

Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Sidney E. Collins; one sister, Martha Rummage; one daughter, Marie "Lulu" Collins; one granddaughter, Annie Springs; and one great-grandson, Jagger Collins.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Dora Collins of Natchez; four daughters, Debbie King of Atlanta, Alice Barbieri of Clarksdale, Patty Ward of The Colony, Texas, and Carolyn Smith of Starkville; three sons, Harvey Collins III of Brandon, Sidney Collins of Knoxville, Tenn., and Glen Collins of Natchez; two brothers, Robert Collins of Albuquerque, N.M., and David Collins of Lyerly, Ga.; one sister, Patricia Kelly of VanAlstyne, Texas; 20 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Collins, Lester King, Chuck Smith Jr., Luke Barbieri, Troy Barbieri, Phillip Ward Jr., Stephen Ward and Elisha Smith.

Hoyt Benjamin Huff Jr.

Feb. 19, 1923 -- July 22, 2002

NATCHEZ -- Graveside services for Hoyt Benjamin Huff Jr., 79, of Vidalia, La., formerly of Natchez, who died Friday, July 19, 2002, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Natchez City cemetery with the Rev. Norris Curry officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Huff was born icon Feb. 19, 1923, in McCall Creek, the son of Hoyt Benjamin Sr. and Ola Smith Huff.

He was former owner of Huff Ford Tractor and Huff Equipment Co. in Natchez, was a resident of Natchez since 1969 and a member of the Wahabi Shrine Temple in Natchez.

Survivors include two sons, Carrol Ray Huff of Natchez and Charles Huff of Vidalia; one daughter, Sandra H. Geter of McCall Creek; one brother, Rayford Huff of Lloyd Star; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Huff, Ronald Huff, Daniel Huff, Shawn Johnson, Don Geter Jr., David Geter and Chris Huff.

Linda Davis Mitchell

Aug. 15, 1955 -- July 16, 2002

NATCHEZ -- Services for Linda Davis Mitchell, 46, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 5 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Mathis officiating.

Burial will follow in the Roxie City cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mitchell was born icon Aug. 15, 1955, in Adams County, the daughter of Mark L. and Nellie Anderson Davis.

Survivors include her mother of Natchez; two daughters, Melaine Ann Mitchell and Brandi Mitchell, both of Jackson; one granddaughter, Miranda Riley Cheatham; two brothers, Wayne Davis and Mark Davis, both of Natchez; five sisters, Bobbie Bryant of Jackson, Barbara Denson of Leno, Louise Burlison and Carolyn Norman, both of Natchez, and Frances Bunch of Vicksburg; one adopted sister, Jean Ratcliff of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Joey Ellis, Jason Ellis, Jimmy Davis, Dean Burlison, Grant Bingham and Allan Isbell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Davis II and Roy Stanley.

Henrye Lea Eyrich

NATCHEZ -- Services for Henrye Lea Eyrich, 79, of Natchez, who died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street.

Complete arrangements will be announced later by Laird Funeral Home.

Edward Davis

Oct. 8, 1962 -- July 14, 2002

NATCHEZ -- Services for Edward "Stick" Davis, 39, of Gautier, who died Sunday, July 14, 2002, in Ocean Springs, will be at 2 p.m. today at Greater Saint Mark Baptist Church with the Rev. Maurice Irving officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of R.D. Mackel and Sons.

The procession will leave at 1:30 p.m. today from 1309 Lafayette St.

Visitation is from 1:30 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Davis was born icon Oct. 8, 1962, in Natchez, the son of Francis Proby and Henry Davis.

He was eduated in the NATCHEZ - Adams School District, was baptized at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Ocean Springs, was a lifelong member of Greater Saint Mark Baptist Church and was a self-employed painter. He coached little league baseball and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his father of Natchez; seven sisters, Flora Payne and her husband, Julius, Estella Davis and her husband, Tommy, Georgia Ware and Cortina Davis, all of Natchez, Bobby Ridley and her husband, Terry, Sherry Gray and her husband, David and Tamera Davis, all of Gautier; two brothers, James Ray Davis and Daryl Davis and his wife, Cassandra, all of Gautier; stepfather, James McNeil of Natchez; two aunts, Cybel Cole and Estella Johnson, both of Natchez; four uncles, John Davis and his wife, Sandra, and Luther Davis, all of Natchez, James Thornton and Junior Felton, both of Kansas City, Mo.; one cousin, Edna Mae Cole of Natchez; two friends, Larry Beasley of New Orleans and Ebony Millender of Gautier; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Micheal Hoye, Troy King, Calvin Proby, Jessie White III, Tremayne Proby, Roosevelt Proby and John E. Hargraves.

Dalma Ulelah Janes
Dalma Ulelah Janes, 78, of Ashland, died May 4, 2005 at Regional Medical Center in Memphis. She was the widow of Jessie E. Janes, a member of Ashland Baptist Church and a retired post master.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on May 7 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Ashland cemetery. Bro. Randy Crews officiated.

She leaves a son, Donald C. Janes of Lamar; a daughter, Debbie Childers of Lamar; a brother, Leon Jackson of Michigan City; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Whitney Janes, Ashley Rowland, Thomas Doyle, Michael Shoup, Tommy Dodd, Lynn Jackson.

Betty Ann Brewer

Betty Ann Brewer, 53, of Holly Springs, died March 25, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was the widow of Morris Lee Brewer and a member of First Pentecostal Church of Holly Springs.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on March 28 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery.

She leaves a son, James R. Brewer of Holly Springs; two daughters, Angela Brewer, Leann Brewer, both of Holly Springs; a brother, Clark McCallum of Ashland; and two grandsons.

Wandra Hovater Boehm

Wandra Hovater Boehm, 63, of Mt. Pleasant, died March 22, 2006 at her home. She was the widow of Shack Byrd. She was a registered nurse with Collierville Family Medical Center and a Sunday school teacher.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on March 25 at Carey Chapel Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. O.E. Langner and Bro. G.R. Travis officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Ricky Boehm; two sons, Tom Byrd of Lamar, Jesse Byrd of Michigan City; two daughters, Deidre Anderson of Mt. Pleasant, Donna Thomas of Holly Springs; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Byrd and David Byrd.

Regina Mary Collins

Regina Mary Collins, 88, of Lamar, died March 25, 2006 in Holly Springs. She was the widow of Gene Collins and a Catholic.

Funeral services were held at a later date. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a daughter Mary Nell Green and her husband, String of Lamar; and a grandson, Tyler.

Billie Jean Conlee

Billie Jean Conlee, 68, of Potts Camp, died March 23, 2006 at her home. She was a member of Temperance Hill Baptist Church.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on March 26 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Temperance Hill cemetery.

She leaves her mother, Lena Westmoreland of Potts Camp; her husband, Herbert Conlee; three sons, Jerry Conlee of New Albany, Bobby Conlee of Mt. Pleasant, Allen Conlee of Ripley; two daughters, Sherry Richter, Debbie Ralph, both of Potts Camp; two brothers, Jimmie Westmoreland, James (Johnny) Westmoreland, both of Potts Camp; a sister, Shirley Brandon of Potts Camp; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
