Bob Bennett (Benny) Clements Jr., 51, of Pittsboro, died Aug. 29, 2005 at his home. He was manager of Fidelity National Loans in Holly Springs and a member of Oldtown Baptist Church.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 31 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Burial was in the Bruce cemetery. Rev. Robert Earl Alexander and Rev. Joe Russell officiated.

He leaves a daughter, Julie Clements Newman of Bruce; two sons, Jared Cody Clements of Pittsboro, Justine Chase Clements of Bruce and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Cody Weeks, Joel Murphree, Jason Tutor, Andy Fortner, Arthur Wesson Newman, Dave Kuchta, Gary Schmitz, Ben Helums. Honorary pallbearers were Fidelity National Employees, Mackey Dozier, Randy Smith, Mark Goodson, Bobby Cannon, Benny Bryant, John Wooten, Charles Clark, Elion Murphree, and Gene West.

Mary Imogene Cline
Mary Imogene Cline, 81, of Holly Springs, formerly of Sardis, died Aug. 30, 2005 at Trinity Mission Health Care. She was the widow of William Lee Cline and a member of First Baptist Church in Sardis.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 2 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

She leaves a daughter, Jeanine Cline Starbuck of Fresno, Calif.; a son, William H. Cline of Germantown, Tenn.; and a brother, Jimmie A. Hart of Holly Springs.

Amber Jo Alderson

Amber (Jackie) Jo Alderson, 63, of Oxford, died June 17, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on June 19 at North Oxford Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Gary Richardson officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Judge Glenn Alderson; a son, Glenn Alderson Jr. of Oxford; a daughter, Laura Alderson of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Douglas Lemley of Grenada; a sister, Geilda Brister of Madison; and two grandchildren.

Grace Colston Burdsal

Grace Colston Burdsal, who would have been 95 on July 27, died June 16, 2006 at Alliance HealthCare System. She was a member of Getwell Church of Christ and the widow of Harry C. Burdsal.

Services were held at 4 p.m. on June 17 at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel. Burial was in Memory Hill Gardens.

She leaves a daughter, Shirley B. Carter of Holly Springs; sons, William H. Burdsal of Brandon, Raymond H. Burdsal, James H. Burdsal, both of Memphis, Tenn.; a stepson, James R. Burdsal of Pipeville, Ky.; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be sent to the Holly Springs Church of Christ, where she was attending at the time of her death.

Willie Foster

Willie (Will) Foster, 77, of New Albany, died June 18, 2006 at Graceland Care Center in New Albany. He was a member of Church of God. He was a helper around the car wash and different businesses in New Albany.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on June 24 at Holy Temple Church of God. Burial will be in Hill Crest cemetery. Rev. Charles Ferrell, pastor, will officiate. Serenity Funeral Home of New Albany will be in charge of arrangements.

He leaves a sister, Mary Foster Hardin of New Albany; four brothers, Deewey Foster of Aurora, Ill., Theodis Foster of Maywood, Ill., Leodis Foster of New Albany, Thomas Foster of Holly Springs; and many other family members.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Foster Jr.

Pallbearers were his nephews.

Sandra Kay Brigance Harris

Sandra Kay Brigance Harris, 50, of Whiteville, died Monday evening, June 12, 2006 at Bolivar General Hospital. Harris was a native of St. Paul, Minn. She was a member of the Coldwater Baptist Church in Barton, where she lived for 25 years prior to moving to Whiteville in 1991. She was a seamstress for Clark Leather for 14 years.

She leaves a daughter, Crystal Lee Brigance of Bolivar; two brothers, Steve Henthorn of Byhalia and Scott Bagwell of Barton; her mother and stepfather, Charline Lee Boese and Robert Lax of Whiteville; a sister, Sherri Marcum of Holly Springs; four grandchildren, Jack Brigance, Paige Hutchens, Kaylee Mitchell and Hayden Blair, and her former husband, Eugene Harris of Bolivar.

She is preceded in death by her son Columbus E. (Buster) Brigance and her father Orville G. Henthorn.

Memorials may be sent to Mt. Olive cemetery.

Mable Mayfield

Mable Mayfield, 54, of Holly Springs, died June 13, 2006 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

She leaves her mother, Renell Holloway; her father, Earl Malone; four children, Shelia Mayfield, Melinda Mayfield, Cornelius Brittenum and Quantez Mayfield, all of Holly Springs; a brother, Robert Holloway; six sisters, Jualdine Huddson, Fannie Jefferson, Stephanie Taylor, Earlene Robinson, all of Holly Springs, Mable Wallace of Memphis, Tenn., Marjorie Oliver of Aurora, Ill.; and 13 grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on June 17 at Strawberry MB Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Willie Jeffries Jr., pastor, officiated. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Christy Moore Ray

Christy Moore Ray, 42, of Byhalia, died June 16, 2006.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on June 22 at Forest Hill South.

She leaves four children, Crystal Moore, Christopher Ray, Jennifer Ray and Jerry Ray of Potts Camp; her parents, Billy and Betty Moore of Hernando; grandparents, John and Dorothy Denton of Senatobia; two brothers, Tommy Moore of Lake Cormorant and Timmy Moore of Horn Lake; and one grandchild.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Ezsma Pipkin Thomas

Ezsma Pipkin Thomas, 82, of Holly Springs died June 18, 2006. She was the widow of K.B. Thomas. She was a member of First Baptist, Grace Lily Class, and loved her work in the church nursery, as well as participating in the church activity center. Ez was the owner-operator of Ez Beauty Shop. During her semi-retirement years, she provided hair and beauty services to the residents at Holly Springs Nursing Home. Throughout her career, she provided hair cosmetic needs at both Reynolds and Holly Springs Funeral Home.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on June 21 at First Baptist Church, Holly Springs.

She leaves her brother Joe Pipkin of Bethlehem; her sister, Christine Patton of Tupelo; three daughters, Patricia Shaw of Holly Springs, Shelia Burnett of Charleston and Nancy Coffler of Rockford, Ill.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jarohn McGreggor of Centerville and Nita Coleman of Oxford.

Memorials may be made to The First Baptist Church, Holly Springs, or National Parkinson’s Inc. c/o Mary Ann Sprinkle, 1501 NW 9th Ave, Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494.

Mary Hazel West

Mary Hazel Grady West, 73, of Ashland, died June 14, 2006 at Memphis Veterans Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was the widow of William G. West Jr. She was an Army veteran of Korea.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on June 17 at Bluff Springs Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. Faron Ash officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

She leaves three sons, William G. West III of Hernando, David A. West of Memphis, Tenn., Mark S. West of Ashland; two daughters, Mary Lou Burt, Lauralee Walker, both of Ashland; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Glen Edward Falkner
Glen Edward (Shine) Falkner, 56, of Holly Springs, died Aug. 27, 2005 at Baptist Hospital in Oxford. He often won trophies at car shows for Cleanest Car. He was employed with Mulay Plastics.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 3 at Smith Grove MB Church in Holly Springs, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Willie C. Conner officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his father, Eddie Falkner of Holly Springs; seven sisters, Darlean Dowdy, Arine Wooten, Etherlean Falkner, all of Holly Springs, Easter Rea Pigues of Olive Branch, Queen Hardin of Memphis, Tenn., Marie Ayers, Mavis Brown, both of Chicago; and two brothers, Phillip Milan and Lee Ester Falkner, both of Holly Springs.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Canary King Falkner and two brothers, Eddie Falkner Jr. and Joe Lee Tuggle.

Pallbearers were Joe Dowdy Jr., Anthony Pigues, Eddie L. Wooten, Ron Wooten, Roosevelt Falkner, Prentiss Wooten, Gerald Falkner, Jermaine Dowdy. Honorary pallbearers were Lee Ester Falkner, Phillip Milan, Jerry Lee King, Dennis King, Oplis King, J.B. Falkner and Perry Falkner.

Minnie Muse Ingram
Minnie Muse Ingram, 77, of Byhalia, died Aug. 28, 2005 at her daughter’s home in Byhalia. The widow of Hubert H. Ingram, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, United Council of Negro Women, former church pianist (Chulahoma MB, Isaac Chapel CME and Liberty Hill MB churches), former PTA president at Henry High School, former Cub Scout Den mother, member of the NAACP and a retired business owner of Ingram Family Grocery in Byhalia.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 2 at Chulahoma MB Church in Holly Springs, where she was a member. Burial was in the Ingram Family cemetery in Byhalia. Rev. John E. Booker Jr. officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a daughter, Sheryl Ingram Willis of Byhalia; a son, Ruderic W. (Rudy) Ingram of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Etherlene Echols Jones of Holly Springs; a brother, Conrad Echols of Chicago, Ill. and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sons Hubert Ingram Jr. and Kenneth Ingram; and four brothers, Clyde Echols, Floyd Echols, Edison Muse and William Muse.

Pallbearers were Derome Cox, Henry Harden, Toby Ingram, Eric Echols, Wesley Muse, William Sidney Payne Jr., John C. Smith, George W. Guyton Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Longino Cooke Jr., Phillip Dean, Carl T. DeBerry, Alvin King, Woodrow Williams and Utilius Phillips.

William James McCallum
William James (Jimmy) McCallum, 35, of Collierville, died Aug. 28, 2005 at his home. He was the owner of Jimmy’s Lawn Service. He played left field on the baseball team for Cherokee Baptist Church. He was a member of Capeville Baptist Church, now known as Brookside Baptist of Memphis, Tenn. He had recently been attending Early Grove United Methodist Church in Lamar.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 1 at Collierville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Frank Feathers and Bro. Jerry Ginn officiated.

He leaves his parents with whom he lived, Sherry and Russell Wilburn of Collierville, and Sandra and William McCallum of Olive Branch; a sister, Melissa Scott of Memphis; a stepsister, Wendy Sullivan of Olive Branch; a stepbrother, Joe Trusty of Olive Branch; maternal grandparents, Mildred Hester Underwood and the late James Francis Underwood of Belmont; and paternal grandparents, Pauline Feathers McCallum and the late William Earl McCallum of Memphis, Tenn., and the late Myrtle Russell and Herbert Mason Wilburn.

Pallbearers were Michael McCallum, Chad Wilburn, Ron Steele, Chris Coughlin, Chris Rose and Jeff Droke. Honorary pallbearers were cousins and friends.

Easter Brown McNeil
Easter Brown McNeil, 88, of Holly Springs, died Aug. 30, 2005 at Baptist Hospital in Oxford. The widow of James McNeil, she was a member of Hopewell No. 1 MB Church in Holly Springs and a retired cook at Sam’s Cafe in Holly Springs.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 3 at Providence MB Church with burial in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Minister Arthur Brown officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves two daughters, Bettye Brown, Shirley Blake, both of Holly Springs; a son, R.C. (Mickey) Blake of Holly Springs; three sisters, Ozell Elliott of Memphis, Tenn., Earline Snow, Dorothy Cowan, both of Holly Springs; 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Johnnie Brown and M.C. Brown.

Pallbearers were Reggie Richmond, Ronnie Freeman, Otis Reliford, David Lee, Lacy Brown, Wendell Brown Sr., Cliff Cowan, Joe Stevenson. Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Brown, Remon Brown, Joseph Brown, Alphonso Brown, Johnny Brown Jr., Quinton Brown, Robert Brown, Clifford Brown, Sanchez Blake, Dewayne Johnson and Odell Johnson.

Marshall Roderick Miller
Marshall Roderick Miller, 83, of Michigan City, died Sept. 1, 2005 at his home. He was a member of World Wide Church of God.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 4 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Valley Grove cemetery in Michigan City. Jack Johnson officiated.

He leaves his wife of 63 years, Mamie Miller; five sons, James Marshall Miller of Faulkner, Dalphus Holland Miller, Calvin David Miller, Shan Miller, Beaver Miller, all of Michigan City; three daughters, Sarah Fay Wilburn, Margie Oglesby, Sharon Graves, all of Moscow, Tenn.; two sisters, Mary Ruth Swords of Oxford, Lois Yeager of Harrisville; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were his grandsons.
