WOODVILLE - Services for Alex Anderson, 79, of Woodville, who died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Wilkinson County Nursing Center, will be at noon Tuesday at Bleakhouse Baptist Church with the Rev. Reginald Jackson officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home of Centreville.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was retired from the U.S. Corps of Engineers, was a native of Wilkinson County and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Bleakhouse Baptist Church.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Anderson Sr. and Charity Sago Anderson.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Anderson of Woodville; four daughters, Diane Wilson of Woodville, Shirley White of Crosby, Lovenia White and Daisy Lee Williams, both of New Orleans; two sons, Darrell Anderson of Woodville and Eddie Lee Anderson of LaPlace, La.; two brothers, Willie Henry Anderson of New Orleans and Jessie Anderson of Detroit; one aunt, Flora Fountain of Centreville; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Paul Wesley Stelly

OPELOUSAS - Services for Paul Wesley Stelly, 30, of Ventress, La., who died Saturday, April 12, 2003, in New Roads, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady Queen of Angels in Opelousas.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 8 a.m. until service time Tuesday. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. today.

Burial will be at Bellevue Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Sibille Funeral Home.

Mr. Stelly was the son of Floyd and Karen Stelly of Opelousas.

He was survived by his wife, Jennifer Rush Stelly, a daughter, Julia Stelly, and a son, Nicolas Stelly, all of Ventress; two sisters, Caryn Stelly and Danyelle Stelly, both of Opelousas; his maternal grandmother, Ruby Tate of Opelousas; his father in-law, Claude Rush of Vidalia; and his mother-in-law, Janice Davis of St. Francisville.

David Clinton Carroll

NATCHEZ - Services for David Clinton Carroll, 51, of Natchez, who died Saturday, April 12, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel.

Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visiation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Willie Mae Neely

FAYETTE - Funeral arrangement for Willie Mae Neely of Fayette, who died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Jefferson County Hospital, are incomplete at Spencer Funeral Home.

Frances Lucille Collier

Dec. 10, 1930 - Dec. 28, 2002

NATCHEZ - Services for Frances Lucille Collier, 72, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Natchez Community Hospital, will he at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Joel Haire officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Collier was born icon Dec. 10, 1930, in Natchez, the daughter of George Hayden and Lucille Monte Green.

Survivors include her husband, Claude Collier; two sons, Robert Collier and his wife, Linda, and Randy Collier and his wife, Deborah, all of Natchez; one daughter, Martha Wilson and her husband, Donald, both of Natchez; two sisters, Mary Ann Roberts of Natchez and Katherine Crouse of Florida; five grandchildren, Cameran Collier, Stephanie Wilson, Tiffany Collier, Denise Collier and Kimberly Collier; and two great-grandchildren, Deven Collier and Dylan Collier.

Pallbearers will be Donald Wilson, Bubba Gilbert, Mike Wilson, Lee Gillespie, George Tarver and Johnny Tarver.

Willie Taylor

Nov. 25, 1943 - April 6, 2003

NATCHEZ - Services for Willie Taylor, 59, of Vidalia, La., who died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fourth Street Church of Christ with the Rev. Wendell Greene Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Natchez National cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Taylor was born icon Nov. 25, 1943, in Ferriday, the son of Willie and Irene Milligan Taylor. He was a disabled Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles and Norman Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Willnetta Cage Taylor; one son, Ralph Taylor, and his wife, Sharon, both of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Iris Green and her husband, Robert, both of Hinesville, Ga., Sandra McClain of Vidalia and Mary C. London and her husband, Kevin, both of Baton Rouge; 14 grandchildren; four brothers, Pete Taylor of Natchez and George Taylor, James Taylor and David Taylor, all of Ferriday; two sisters, Gloria Taylor and Delores Anderson, both of Ferriday; and two uncles, Tom Milligan and Joe Milligan, both of Ferriday.

Emma Dess Compton Stevens

April 17, 1916 - April 8, 2003

CANNONSBURG - Services for Emma Dess Compton Stevens, 86, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, will be at noon Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home. Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Stevens was born icon April 17, 1916, in Cannonsburg, the daughter of James and Henerietta Tyler Compton. She was educated at Jefferson County schools and was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include one brother, James Dunbar Compton; three sisters, Catherine Compton Ford, Manda Compton Haley and Rebecca Compton Clark; one nephew, George Scott Sr.; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Viola Wade Coleman

July 22, 1915 - April 7, 2003

ROXIE - Services for Viola Wade Coleman, 87, of Roxie, who died Monday, April 7, 2003, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Luther Bonds officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Fayette. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Coleman was born icon July 22, 1915, in Franklin County, the daughter of Clem Wade and Caroline Jackson. She was a millenery and a homemaker and a member of Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church and its Mothers Board.

Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include two nephews, Woodrow Wilson and his wife, Minnie Pearl, both of Roxie, and James Wilson Jr. and his wife, Annie Ruth, both of Miami; seven nieces, Louise Sims and Pinkie Hunt, both of Los Angeles, Rowena Leggins of New Orleans, Ruthana Evans and her husband, Lit, both of Cleveland, Ruby Hampton and her husband, Otha, both of Las Vegas, and Clara E. Hunt and her husband, Hollis and Willie L. Davis, all of Roxie; other relatives, Cassandra Allen, Maurice Allen, Dexter Wilson, Mickey Wilson and Ronald Hunt; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Wilson, Mickey Wilson, Dexter Wilson, Hollis Hunt Jr., Ronald Hunt and Maurice Allen.

Weston Tenner

April 10, 1916 - April 7, 2003

FAYETTE - Services for Weston Tenner, 87, of Fayette, who died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Isaac Tenner officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Fayette.

Visitation is from noon to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Tenner was born icon April 10, 1916, in Jefferson County, the son of Pero Tenner and Leona White. He was a farmer and a member of East Roxie Church of Christ.

Mr. Tenner was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Mae Tenner, his parents, four children and three brothers.

Survivors include four sons, Wendell Tenner, Isaac Tenner and his wife, Nellie, Johnny Tenner and his wife, Carolyn, and Robert Tenner, all of Fayette; four daughters, Hattie Thorton and her husband, James, both of Kansas City, and Lula Herrington and her husband, Henry, Thelma Sanders and Mary Roberts and her husband, Melvin, all of Fayette; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.Honorary pallbearers will be Wendell Tenner, Isaac Tenner, Johnny Tenner and Robert Tenner.

Margaret Trotman Johnsey Jones

Aug. 14, 1919 - April 10, 2003

GREENVILLE - Services for Margaret Trotman Johnsey Jones, 83, of Greenville, who died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at her home, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Boone-Wells Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Grenada under the direction of the funeral home.

Visitation is from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones was born icon Aug. 14, 1919, in Yazoo County.

She was a homemaker and grew up in Grenada, where she graduated from high school. She was a member of First Baptist Church and its Seekers Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her first husband, James Edwin Johnsey; one son, James Edwin Johnsey Jr.; her parents, Abie Lee and Bessie Logan Trotman; and one sister, Frances See.

Survivors include her husband, Robert N. Jones; one daughter, Jane Johnsey Kisner, and her husband, Howard, both of Baton Rouge; one stepson, John R. Jones and his wife, Allison, both of Ft. Worth, Texas; one sister, Dorothy T. Lange of Greenville; one niece, Sylvia Stockard of Charlotte, N.C.; six grandchildren, Wendell H. Kisner III, Aaron Lee Kisner, Margaret Alice Erdmann, Walter Edwin Kisner, Joy Randol Jones and Jennifer Caroline Jones; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church or DRMC Hospice, Greenville.

Arcell Bonds

July 16, 1926 - April 7, 2003

GLOSTER - Services for Arcell Bonds, 76, of Gloster, who died Monday, April 7, 2003, in Gloster, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Lambert Porter and Lanis Bonds officiatings.

Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery in Gloster under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home of Gloster.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bonds was born icon July 16, 1926, the son of Frank Bonds and Lemon VanNorman Bonds.

He was a retired warehouseman and a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was married icon to Dorothy Porter Bonds.

Mr. Bonds was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Frank Davis Bonds and Peggy Lee Bonds; and three brothers, Julious Bonds, Alcorn Bonds and Ardell Bonds.

Survivors include three children, Roy Bonds and his wife, Patricia, both of Natchez, Tracy Hanafin and her husband, Jerry, both of Arlington, Va. and Janice Harding of Bushkill, Pa.; one sister, Sevella Dorothy James of New Orleans; five brothers, Paul Bonds and his wife, Cammeal, both of Gloster, Larry Bonds and his wife, Betty and Moses Bonds and his wife, Ann, all of New Orleans and James Bonds and his wife, Lula, both of Oakland, Calif.; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dallas E. Cooke Jr.

July 12, 1931 - April 8, 2003

NATCHEZ - Services for Dallas E. Cooke Jr., 71, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Jon Edgell officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. Cooke was born icon July 12, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., the son of Dallas Eugene and Hattie Mae Hammack Cooke Sr. He retired from International Paper Company after 43 years of service.

Mr. Cooke was preceded in death by his son, Dallas E. "Bubba" Cooke III.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy C. Long of Hattiesburg; seven grandchildren, Britton Long, Jordan King, Reagyn Long, Whitney Long, Ashton Long, Mallory Long and Dallas E. "Deren" Cooke IV; two great-grandsons, Jaden Kyler Cooke and Cullen Jeffrey Fertitta; and one sister, Eleanor Mae Cooke of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be Bubba Hale, Fred Verucchi, Doug Ballard, Albert L. French, John Druetta and Butch Tyler.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Post Office Box 832, Natchez, MS 39121.
