Hattie Bell Reynolds-Harried

June 13, 1924 - March 16, 2003

FAYETTE - Services for Hattie Bell Reynolds-Harried, 78, of Fayette, who died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Hospice Care Ministries Facility in Ridgeland, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill No. 2 Baptist Church with the Revs. James Beverly and Roosevelt Harried Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Harried was born icon June 13, 1924, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Addie Washington and Novell Reynolds.

She was educated at the Fayette Training School, was a homemaker and was a member and an ordained mother of Rose Hill No. 2 Baptist Church in Fayette.

Mrs. Harried was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Harried Sr.; one daughter, Thelma Harried; two sons, Rommie and Billy Wayne Harried; one grandchild, Shumario Harried; and her parents.

Survivors include six daughters, Theresa Rankin and her husband, Roger Sr., Annie Mae Walton, Mary Ann Williams and her husband, Wendell, Janet Selmon and her husband, Larry, Annette George Sr. and her husband, Daniel and Lutisha Hall, all of Fayette; two adopted daughters, Jean Rankin and her husband, Barney Sr. and Ruby Hammitte, all of Fayette; eight sons, Roger Harried and his wife, Martha, both of Gulfport, Marion Harried Jr. and his wife, Lee Anna, Stanley Harried and his wife, Annie Lee, Earl Harried and his wife, Maxine, Windell Harried and his wife, Geraldine and Ivan Harried, all of Fayette, John Harried and his wife, Gladys and Tommie Harried and his wife, Jana, all of Natchez; 35 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; one sisters, Mary Lee Frye of Fayette; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Richard Curel, Ronnie Curel, Shevly Hall, Robert Sanxton, Larondrial Barnes and Henry Walton Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.

Sebell Davis Ware Cole

Sept. 9, 1917 - March 18, 2003

CHURCH HILL - Services for Sebell Davis Ware Cole, 85, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jefferson Chapel A.M.E. with the Rev. Anthony Colenburg officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. with Order of Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Ms. Cole was born icon Sept. 9, 1917, in Jefferson County, the daughter of C.H. and Betty Davis.

She was educated in the Jefferson County Public Schools, was employed with Natchez Pecan Factory and was a Methodist.

Survivors include one daughter, Claudia Proby of Natchez; three sons, John Ware of Natchez, William Ware of Baton Rouge and Walter Ware and his wife, Jeanett, all of Stockton, Calif.; two step-sons, Edward Cole of Natchez and Burnell Ware and his wife, Beatrice, both of Texas City, Texas; one step-daughter, Alma Brown and her husband, O.J., both of Clarksdale; five brothers, Henry Davis, Luther Davis and John Davis and his wife, Sandra, all of Natchez, Lewis Felton and his wife, Royce and James Thornton and his wife, Hattie, all of Kansas City, Mo.; grandson, Roosevelt Marsaw Jr. and his wife, Yvonne, both of Natchez; two aunts, Carrie Tyler of Natchez and Cordelia Johnson, both of Chicago; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be James E. Marsaw, Timothy Marsaw, Woodrow Proby, John C. Ware and Marcus Ware.

William Fountain Jr.

Aug. 29, 1947 - March 19, 2003

WOODVILLE - Services for William Fountain Jr., 55, of Woodville, who died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church with the Rev. Roosevelt Palmer officiating.

Burial will be in Cedar Rest cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.

He was a retired logger and a lifelong resident of Woodville.

Mr. Fountain was preceded in death by his father, William Fountain Sr. and one sister, Virginia Brown.

Survivors include his mother, Flora Fountain of Woodville; one daughter, Patricia Fountain of Minnesota; two sons, James Fountain and Johnny Fountain, both of Baton Rouge; seven sisters, Bessie Fountain, Shirley Brown, Mary Simon, Ora Lee Thomas, Elizabeth McQuarter and Annie Barrios, all of New Orleans and Delores Fountain of Woodville; three brothers, Matthew Fountain of New Orleans, Johnny Fountain of Woodville and Robert Fountain of New Orleans; six grandchildren.

Thomas Joseph 'T.J.' Guido

June 23, 1919- Dec. 4, 2002

NATCHEZ - Services for Thomas Joseph "T.J." Guido, 83, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home with the Rev. William Brock Watson officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Guido was born icon June 23, 1919, in Natchez, the son of Thomas Joseph and Albena Miranda Guido.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the 42nd Rainbow Division Quartermaster Corps, a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Beau Pré Country Club and was active in the oil industry for many years.

Mr. Guido was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Bevers Guido; two sons, Al Guido and his wife, Sue, and Paul Guido and his wife, Suzanne, both of Natchez; one brother, George J. Guido of Natchez; and three granddaughters, Aimee Guido and Jennie Guido, both of Natchez, and Leslie Guido of Oxford.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Meason, Carl Voss, Lennie Schuchs, Bubba Kaiser, Bobby Harmon and David Heard.

Honorary pallbearers will be the "Rinky Dinks."

Charles E. Gibson

Oct. 9, 1930 - Nov. 29, 2002

NATCHEZ - Services for Charles E. Gibson, 72, of Natchez, who died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Natchez Regional Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Zawacki officiating.

Burial will follow in the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. today and 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the church, with a rosary service at 7:30.

Mr. Gibson was born icon Oct. 9, 1930, in Adams County, the son of Annie Robinson and Rufus Gibson.

He was a dispatcher with Wilson & Gilbert Pharmacy, owner of Gibson's Demolition Service, a retired Adams County sheriff's deputy and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Mississippi Deputy Sheriffs Association, the National Sheriffs Association and the Mississippi Sheriffs Boys and Girls Ranch.

Survivors include his wife, Sheirley R. Gibson; one son, Barry Gibson and his wife, Katherine; one daughter, Debra Thomas and her husband, Larry; three brothers, Rufus Gibson, James Gibson and his wife, Freddie Mae, and Leroy Gibson, all of Natchez; three sisters, Mary Williams and Rosie Lee "Mamie" Gibson, both of Natchez, and Dorothy Campbell of Valley Park, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Karen Gibson; eight grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Adams County Sheriff's Office personnel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Gibson, Larry Thomas, Rufus Gibson, James Gibson, Leroy Gibson and grandsons.

Margaret Emily Hollowell

NATCHEZ - Services for Margaret Emily Hollowell, 19, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2002, in Joshua Tree, Calif., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Minor Basilica.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church, with a rosary service at 7 p.m.

Willie Lee Bowman

DALLAS - Funeral arrangements for Willie Lee Bowman, 55, of Dallas, formerly of St. Joseph, La., who died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, in Dallas, are incomplete at Concordia Funeral Home.

Burnham Raymond Gibbs

March 13, 1918 - March 1, 2003

NATCHEZ - Memorial services for Burnham Raymond "Bob" Gibbs, who died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in Banning, Calif., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church.

A private burial service will be at a later date at Oak Hill cemetery, Red Bluff, Calif.

Visitation will be held immediately after the service.

Mr. Gibbs was born icon March 13, 1918, in Springfield, Mass., the son of Raymond and Edna Monahan Gibbs.

He served as a second lieutenant in World War II as an Air Force pilot and later became an aviation instructor. He was a member of the Vidalia Sky Vikings and was employed for 35 years with Diamond International Corp. He attended Grace United Methodist Church.

Mr. Gibbs was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Marjorie Schmidt Gibbs.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Jeffus Gibbs; two sons, Roger Gibbs and his wife, Sharon, both of Banning, Calif. and Robert Gibbs and his wife, Debbie, both of Red Bluff, Calif.; two step-daughters, Esther Jeffus and Miriam Timmons, both of Natchez; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Cyrus Green Sr.

Funeral arrangements for Cyrus Green Sr., 78, of Ferriday, La., who died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Veteran's Hospital in Alexandria, are incomplete at Concordia Funeral Home.

Mason R. Seale

March 31, 1916 -- July 28, 2002

NATCHEZ -- Services for Mason R. Seale, 86, of Natchez, who died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Revs. Julius Roberts and Lou Knighton officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Seale was born icon March 31, 1916, in Gloster, the son of Mack Taylor and Dorothea Temple Seale.

He was a member of Lovely Lane United Methodist Church, Harmony Masonic Lodge No. 1, Wahabi Shrine Temple and Knights Templar. He retired from the Mississippi Highway Patrol in 1976 after 26 years of service. He served in the 141st Armored Signal Company during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Mathis Seale of Natchez; one daughter, Roberta Fairchild and her husband, Charles, both of Madison; three grandchildren, Rachel Fairchild, Conner Fairchild and Clayton Fairchild, all of Madison; one brother, Mack Seale of Natchez; and two sisters Estelle Boutwell of Sontag and Elizabeth Brown of Monticello.

Pallbearers will be Clell King, Ivo Lea, Richard Olier, Theodore McCarstle, Walton Hootsell and Ernest Barlow.

Honorary pallbearers will be Julian Wedgeworth, Grady Boykin, Claude Harrigill and Wade Martin.

The family requests memorials be made to Lovely Lane United Methodist Church in Natchez or Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Centre Boulevard in Ridgeland.

Lester Layne Browning Jr.

March 28, 1930 -- July 30, 2002

NATCHEZ -- Services for Lester Layne Browning Jr., 72, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at Magnolia House, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Samuel Tomlinson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Browning was born icon March 28, 1930, in Natchez, the son of Lester Layne and Effie Elmira Lees Browning Sr.

He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, was retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He was a retired employee of U.S. Postal Service and was a founding member of the Men's Camellia Club.

Mr. Browning was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Clara Holland Browning.

Survivors include two sons, Lester Layne Browning III and his wife, Sharon, and David Lees Browning, all of Natchez; one daughter, Elizabeth Swalm and her husband, John, both of Natchez; five grandchildren, Lester Layne Browning IV, Andrea Hart Browning, Alison Swalm, Jessica Swalm and Stephanie Swalm; two brothers, William Browning and Jim Browning, both of Natchez; and one sister, Carol Browning Preisman of Boyton Beach, Fla.

Pallbearers will be Randy Brumfield, Carrol Tumey, David Gardner, Cliff Brumfield, Vincent Mullins, Allen Burchfield and Jamie Lees Browning.

Rena B. Stietenroth

Sept. 15, 1910 -- July 28, 2002

NATCHEZ -- Services for Rena B. Stietenroth, 91, of Ocean Springs formerly of Natchez, who died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at her residence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Samuel Tomlinson officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Stietenroth was born icon Sept. 15, 1910, in Amite County, the daughter of Willie and Laura Wells Barron.

She lived in Natchez from 1947 to 1997 when she moved to Ocean Spring to be with her son and family. She is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Natchez and a communicant of St. John Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs.

Mrs. Stietenroth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William E. Stietenroth; and a sister, Jesse Dykes.

Survivors include one son, William E. Stietenroth Jr. and his wife, Anne, both of Ocean Springs; one granddaughter, Davona Mitchell and her husband, Ron, both of Biloxi; and two great-granddaughters, Caroline Mitchell and Ashley Mitchell, both of Biloxi.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
