Antoinette Lonigro Thomas

CLINTON - Services for Antoinette Lonigro Thomas, 70, of Clinton, who died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Savior Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Lakewood Funeral Home of Jackson.

Mrs. Thomas retired as a secretary for the Catholic Diocese of Jackson. She was a native of Franklin, La., and lived in Natchez before moving to Jackson, where she lived for more than 38 years.

She was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, James Calvert Thomas of Clinton and Steven Padgett Thomas of Mendenhall; two daughters, Mildred Marie Eady of Clinton and Glenda Leah Stewart of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Arton of Franklin and Margaret Searcy of Natchez.

Memorials may be to the Holy Savior Catholic Church Building Fund.

Hattie Bell Harried

FAYETTE - Funeral arrangements for Hattie Bell Harried of Fayette, who died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, are incomplete at Spencer Funeral Home.

Louise Thompson

Aug. 19, 1908 - March 12, 2003

NATCHEZ - Services for Louise Thompson, 94, of Franklin County, who died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Lonnie Culbert officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. Thompson was born icon Aug. 19, 1908, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Smith Cameron and Madora Johnson.

She was a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University and Alcorn State University. She worked as a teacher and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one daughter, Augustine Herring Doss, and her husband, J.P.; and four grandchildren, Jerry L. Doss of Byron, Rita Doss-Jones of Okeechobee, Fla., and Gregory P. Doss and Kelvin Doss, both of Roxie.

Pallbearers will be Kelvin Doss, Gregory Doss, Jerry Doss, Leon Jones, Lee Doss and Terry Doss.

Edward Moody Hall

BELZONI - Services for Edward Moody Hall, 90, of Belzoni, who died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Richard Wiman and George Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at Belzoni cemetery under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Hall was executive director of the Humphreys County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and church treasurer, and was an Air Force veteran. He was instrumental in founding the National Association of County Office Employees.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Juanita Chapman Hall; one son, Dr. Charles E. Hall of Ridgeland; two daughters, Harriet Imrey of Charlottesville, Va., and Anita Baroni of Natchez; one sister, Sue McLain of Grenada; one brother, William E. Hall of Lansing, Mich.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Eva Deane Simonton

July 24, 1922 - March 15, 2003

NATCHEZ - Graveside services for Eva Deane Simonton, 80, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Natchez City cemetery, for family and close friends. D.M. Simonton will officiate.

Laird Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Simonton was born icon July 24, 1922, in Monroe, La., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Montgomery Jones. She was a homemaker. She served as organist at First Baptist Church for 14 years and had served as organist at First Presbyterian Church during World War II. A graduate of Natchez High School, she attended Louisiana State University and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and Sigma Alpha Iola music sorority. She was a teacher at the Natchez Institute and taught music. She was a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club, the Junior Service League and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Raymond, Newton, Howard and Kenneth; and three sisters, Shirley, Audrey Lynn and Mary Dell.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William Simonton; one son, Brady Montgomery Simonton of Natchez; one daughter, Cynthia Louise Cooke of Natchez; one grandson, William Montgomery Simonton of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Kenneth Jones of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Natchez Children's Home.

Fletcher Horton

Oct. 26, 1917 -- July 20, 2002

FAYETTE -- Services for Fletcher Horton, 84, of Fayette, who died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fayette will be at 11 a.m. today at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Tillman officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 8 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Horton was born icon Oct. 26, 1917, in Fayette, the son of Gertrude Jennings and Brewster Livingston Horton.

He was baptized in 1923 at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in the Gravel Hill community. After moving to Baton Rouge in 1946, he joined Saint Mark United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir for nine years. In 1955, due to illness of his father, he moved back to Fayette where he reunited with Mount Pleasant serving as Sunday school teacher, superintendent of Sunday school and president of the Gravel Hill Friendly Home Society. He was a member of Mount Vally Lodge No. 6, where he served as Worshipful Master for a number of years and was a livestock and vegetable farmer. Mr. Horton was also a former employee of the Jefferson County School District and the Mississippi Department of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service.

Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Robert, Rommie, Harry and Lawrence Horton; and five sisters, Cynthia Noble, Geneva Blake, Katie Horton, Carlee Page and Beulah Malone.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Odessa Runnels-Horton of Fayette; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, god-children and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mason Brothers of Mount Vally Lodge No. 6.

Richard M. Inman Jr.

Jan. 24, 1932 -- July 22, 2002

WOODVILLE -- Services for Richard M. "Dick" Inman Jr., 70, of Woodville, who died Monday, July 22, 2002, at Field Memorial Community Hospital in Centreville will be at 11 a.m. today at Woodville United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ray Branch, Warren Whitaker and Tom Sexton officiating.

Burial will follow in Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Berryhill Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Inman was born icon Jan. 24, 1932, in Woodville, the son of Audrey Dickey and Richard Moses Inman.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Army, and a member of Woodville United Methodist Church.

Mr. Inman was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, A.B. Inman.

Survivors include one brother, Charles D. Inman of Woodville; two nieces, Renee I. McGraw and Laura Ann I. Whetstone; one sister-in-law, Gerry Inman; and one great-niece.

Pallbearers will be Kirk Smith, Ikey Carter, Jerry Johnston, John Dale, Clifton L. Sanders and Robert Redhead.

Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Darden, W.G. Johnson Jr., David R. Smith, Jerry Nettles, Todd Sanders, Ernest Jones, Robert Morgan and Mark Haynes.

The family requests memorials be made to Wilkinson County Christian Academy.

Rosietta Williams

PORT GIBSON -- Services for Rosietta Williams, 85, who died Monday, July 15, 2002, at Claiborne County Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Greater Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Howard officiating.

Burial will follow in Thompson Memorial Garden cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson.

Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. with family hour from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

She was a member of Greater Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Van Williams; her parents, Mose and Mary Watkins-Kemp; two sisters, Ann Williams and Phyllis Kemp Nelson; and two brothers, Albert Kemp and Robert Brown.

Survivors include a friend, Tommy Myles of Port Gibson; two nieces, Cheye Williams and Noel Williams, both of Columbus, Ohio; one godson, Peter Shorts of Lorman; one daughter, Willie Ruth Shorts-Kemp of Lorman; one brother-in-law, Charles Nelson of Port Gibson; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Elbert Thompson

Jan. 1, 1944 -- July 17, 2002

FAYETTE -- Services for Elbert Thompson, 58, of Fayette, who died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at Claiborne County Hospital in Port Gibson, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Rose Hill No. 2 Baptist Church with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hollywood Baptist Church cemetery in Fayette under the direction of Spencer Funeral.

Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Sunday at the church.

Mr. Thompson was born icon Jan. 1, 1944, in Jefferson County, the son of the Rev. Robert and Minerva Lewis Thompson.

He was a member of Rose Hill No. 2 Baptist Church where he served as an usher and was affiliated with Prince Hall Lodge No. 202 of Jefferson County. He attended Liddell High School of Jefferson County, began working at Westinghouse/Cooper Lighting in 1966 and was a member of Cooper IBEW Local 1873.

Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his father parents; two brothers, James Herrington and Charlie Johnson; one brother-in-law, Melvin George; and one sister-in-law, Loretta Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Mae Thompson of Fayette; one son, Elbert "Hook" Thompson and his wife, Deshantra, both of Fayette; one daughter, Katrina Shaw and her husband, Eric, both of Frisco, Texas; two grandchildren, Alexis Thompson of Fayette and Austin Shaw of Frisco; three brothers, Lewis Thompson and his wife, Barbara, and Larry Thompson, all of Fayette, and Robert Thompson Jr. and his wife, Joyce, both of Prince George, Va.; four sisters, Rosie L. George Turner and her husband, Monroe, Matie Wicks and her husband, Dallas, Mary L. Payne and her husband, Noah, and Catherine Williams and her husband, Rayford, all of Fayette; one uncle, Nehemiah Thompson of Port Gibson; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends and co-workers of Cooper Lighting of Vicksburg.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Thompson, Robert Thompson, Larry Thompson, Dallas Wicks, Noah Payne, John A. Ware, Donail Ware, Eric Michael Shaw, Kevin Savoie, Rayford Williams Sr. and Rayford Williams Jr.

Charles Wesley Froust Jr.

June 2, 1969 -- July 17, 2002

MEADVILLE -- Services for Charles Wesley "Moonie" Froust Jr., 33, of Meadville, who died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at his residence, will be at 3 p.m. today at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Wallace cemetery in Franklin County under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. Froust was born icon June 2, 1969, in Brookhaven, the son of Charles Wesley and Bessie May McFarland Froust Sr.

He was a foreman with Priest Brothers Logging in Meadville.

Mr. Froust was preceded in death by one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Paige Causey Froust of Meadville; his parents of Meadville; one son, Vincent Froust of Meadville; one stepson, Austin Hite of Meadville; and three sisters, Bessie Faye Watts of Bude, LaVoyce Boggs of McComb and Denise Jones of Meadville.

Pallbearers will be Jack Dunn, Jackie Priest, Buster Middleton, Leroy McFarland Jr., Dale Deir and Jams "Rat" Rancifer Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmie Priest, Lonnie Causey and David McFarland.
