Dec. 11, 1918 - March 3, 2003

NATCHEZ - Services for Joseph D. Denham, 84, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 3, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home with the Rev. Bart Walker officiating.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hickory Grove cemetery in Laurel under the direction of the funeral home.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Denham was born icon Dec. 11, 1918, in Laurel, the son of Ennis Pinkney and Claudia King Denham.

He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and the Magnolia Masonic Lodge No. 120 in Biloxi.

Survivors include three daughters, Laura Eidt and her husband, Drew, and Barbara Murray and her husband, Billy Ray, all of Natchez, and Faye Kimbrough and her husband, Steve, both of Kingston, Okla.; six grandchildren, Bethany Dalton of New Albany, Donna Camburn of Olive Branch, Lori Davis of Oklahoma City, Okla., Andrea Joseph of Collierville, Tenn., Bryant Murray of Natchez and David Stanley of Kansas City; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Barnett of Rome, Ga.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Heaven Bound Sunday School Class of Parkway Baptist Church.

The family requests memorials be made to the Building Fund of Parkway Baptist Church, 117 Seargent S. Prentiss Drive, Natchez, MS.

Pauline Wilkinson

NATCHEZ - Services for Pauline Wilkinson, 92, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, in Natchez, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from noon until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Eloise Woods

FAYETTE - Funeral arrangements for Eloise Woods, 68, of Fayette, who died Monday, March 3, 2003, at her residence, are incomplete at Spencer Funeral Home.

Annie Mae Johnson Carter

April 28, 1929 - Feb. 14, 2003

DALLAS, Texas - Services for Annie Mae Johnson Carter of Dallas, who died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, were held at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at Greater Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven C. Jones officiating.

Burial was in Laurel Land Memorial cemetery under the direction of Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home Inc. of Dallas.

She was formerly from Lincoln County and Natchez.

Ms. Carter was preceded in death by her parents, Anderson and Nancy Johnson.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Clemons and her husband, Melvin, and Elaine Dickson of Dallas; two sisters, Bertha Sanders of Natchez and Frances Collins and her husband, Herman, both of Monticello; three brothers, Lonnie "Jack" Johnson of Natchez, Robert Johnson and his wife, Sazzie, both of Wesson and Ladell Johnson and his wife, Annie Ruth, both of Dixon, Mo.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Lydia G. Bryant

NATCHEZ - Graveside services for Lydia G. Bryant, 78, who died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at River Region Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Natchez City cemetery.

Burial will follow under the direction of Riles Funeral Home of Vicksburg.

Visitation is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bryant was the daughter of Benjamin F. and Ethel Shaw Gilbert.

She was a native of Natchez and moved to Vicksburg to complete training for her RN degree shortly after World War II. She was employed at the Vicksburg Hospital, the Vicksburg Infirmary and Kuhn Memorial Hospital retiring in 1987 and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Kelly Bryant Sr. of Vicksburg; three sons, James E. Bryant, Kelly Bryant Jr. and his wife, Sue Rhodes and Stan Bryant, all of Vicksburg; five grandchildren; and one brother, Clarence Gilbert of McComb.

The family requests memorials be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, Post Office Box 646, Vicksburg, MS 39181 or the Catholic Charities, Post Office Box 2248, Jackson, MS 39225-2248.

Allen Owens

Funeral arrangements for Allen Owens, 91, of Ferriday, La., who died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in Alexandria, are incomplete at Concordia Funeral Home.

Doris Bowman

Funeral arrangements for Doris Bowman, 81, of Ferriday, La., who died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Riverland Medical Center, are incomplete at George F. West Funeral Home.

Alice Williams

Funeral arrangements for Alice Williams, 94, of Woodville, who died Monday, March 3, 2003, at Wilkerson County Nursing Center, are incomplete Webb Funeral System.

Elaine Halford Rouse

Oct. 5, 1947 - June 23, 2003

MEADVILLE - Services for Elaine Halford Rouse, 55, of Bude, who died Monday, June 23, 2003, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. today at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in Midway cemetery in Meadville under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 8 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Ms. Rouse was born icon Oct. 5, 1947, in Lincoln, the daughter of Riley Halford and Eddie V. Arnold Myers.

She was a homemaker and a Catholic.

Ms. Rouse was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Jackie Lynn Rouse of Hamond, La. and William Thomas Anthony Rouse of Meadville; two daughters, Tyanna Michelle Rouse Rasberry of Bude and Erin Elizabeth Rouse Hopkins of North Fork, Va.; two brothers, Glen Halford of Jackson and Jimmy Halford of Natchez; one sister, Barbara Halford Bienvenue of Jackson; four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Micheal Halford, Marc Halford, Joshua Halford, Russell Halford, John Bienrenue and Randy Arnold.

Honorary pallbearers will be Will Rouse, Gabe Rouse, Tony Rasberry and Ernest Arnold Jr.

Julia Benoist Kuehnle

NATCHEZ - Services for Julia Benoist Kuehnle, 83, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday in Kuehnle Hall at the church.

Mary "Sister" Williams Boyd

NATCHEZ - Services for Mary "Sister" Williams Boyd, 80, of Natchez, who died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at noon Friday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Seals officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral System.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Survivors include one brother, Lee A. Williams of Natchez; two sisters, Eloise Washington of Las Vegas, Nev. and Edna Clark of New Orleans; two daughters, Ernestine W. Robinson of San Francisco, Calif. and Augustine Batteste Williams of Natchez; two grandsons, Derrick Von Batteste of Natchez and Raymie Shelton Batteste of Chicago.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Turner, Anthony Jackson, James Dean, Willie Lee Holmes, Jimmy Lee Washington and Ricky Evans.

Willie Keys

NATCHEZ - Services for Willie Keys, 86, who died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Thursday at Wilderness Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral System.

Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was retired from Miss. Power and Light and was on the deacon board.

Mr. Keys was preceded in death by his family.

Survivors include one son, Gregory Keys of Natchez; one daughter, Mary Lee Moore of Natchez; two sisters, Mattie Ratliff of Chicago and Barbara Lindsay of Negril, Jamaica; two brothers, Scott Keys and his wife, Annie, both of Jefferson County and Talma Keys of Tennessee.

Betty E. Tatum

Jan. 20, 1911 - June 21, 2003

NATCHEZ - Services for Betty E. Tatum, 92, of Natchez, who died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 3 p.m. today at McNeely Road Church of God with Bishop L. Paul Hays officiating.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Tatum was born icon Jan. 20, 1911, in White Apple, the daughter of Jessie and Lenny Hall Jackson.

She was a member of McNeely Road Church of god and was retired as a nurses aid from Natchez Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Tatum was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimmie Tatum ,Sr.; three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include one son, Audrey Tatum, Sr. and his wife, Ruby Tatum, both of Natchez; grandchildren, Theresa Tatum Squyres, Rebecca Tatum McHand, Candy Tatum, Audrey Tatum, Jr., Mike Kitchens, Verla Childers, Charolette Boyles, Ty Tatum and Jimmie Tatum, Jr.; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John McHand, David Squyres, Michael Heidel, Jimmie Tatum, Jr., Jeramy Tatum and Anthony Mills.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Lambert, Luther Lambert, Audrey Tatum, Jr. and Mike Kitchens.

Clyde Ray "Buddy" Lazarus

Feb. 2, 1935 - June 21, 2003.

MEADVILLE - Funeral services for Clyde Ray "Buddy" Lazarus, 68, of Meadville, who died at his residence on Saturday, June 21, 2003, will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville.

Burial will be at Midway cemetery in Meadville under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Lazarus was born icon Feb. 2, 1935 in McComb, the son of Clyde Ernest Lazarus and Mildred Easley Lazarus. He was the first graduate of the School of Radiology at the University of Mississippi Medical School and worked as a nuclear medicine technician at Natchez Regional Medical Center until his retirement in 1997. He was a Mason and a member of the Meadville Baptist Church.

Mr. Lazarus was preceded in death by his father and one brother.

Survivors include his mother; his wife, Elizabeth Price Lazarus of Meadville; a son, Darren Lazarus, and his wife, Jennifer, of Ridgeland; two daughters, Karen Tutor and her husband, Danny, of Oxford, and Suzanne Brown and her husband, Tim, of Flowood; a brother, Ernest Lazarus and his wife, Betty, of Auburn; three sisters, Mary Lou Crittenden of Smithdale, and Lillie Matthews and her husband, Aubrey, and Norma Dunn and her husband, Kenneth, both of McComb; and four grandsons, Kyle Tutor, Ryne Tutor, Blake Brown and Todd Brown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Meadville Baptist Church Building Fund.
