HAMBURG - Services for Olevia Calhoun, 86, of Natchez, who died Thursday, April 15, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Church in Hamburg with the Rev. Smith officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral System.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Calhoun was born icon July 28, 1917, in Hamburg, the son of Maggie Lewis.

She was retired and was a Baptist.

Ms. Calhoun was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Survivors include sisters, Tiny Upton, Ruby Carter, Marie Dunlap and Ida Murphy.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Earl J. Rutherford

July 20, 1921 - April 15, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Earl J. Rutherford, 82, of Natchez, who died Thursday, April 15, 2004, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. today at Highway 61 South Church of Christ with Elder Coleman Allmond officiating.

Burial will follow at Enloe cemetery in the Buffalo Community under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Rutherford was born icon July 20, 1921, in Wal Hollow, ND, the son of Joseph and Agnes Ann Langlois Rutherford.

He was a member of 61 South Church of Christ.

Mr. Rutherford was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eula P. Wisner; brother, Richard Rutherford; and sister, May Styles.

Survivors include one step-son, Glendol Wisner and wife, Melba; one son, Gary Rutherford; one daughter, Linda Rutherford; four sisters, Della Danielson of North Dakota, Ella Dominiak of Illinois, Delores Buser of Florida and Evelyn McCraine of California; one brother, Sid Rutherford of Tennessee.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Wisner, Jim Allgood, Richard Olier, Wesley Hastings, Brady Hastings and Richard Wiley.

Jon E. Towles

Funeral arrangements for Jon E. Towles, 77, of Vidalia, LA, who died Friday, April 16, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, LA, are incomplete at Young's Funeral Home.

Rosie Lee Hawkins

Nov. 10, 1907 - April 13, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Rosie Lee Hawkins, 96, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph Gibson officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Hawkins was born icon Nov. 10, 1907, in Natchez, the daughter of Melton Hawkins and Alice G. Hawkins.

She was educated in the Adams County Public Schools, was a mother of St. Mary Baptist Church and was a member of the Friends of Relief Society #3.

Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

Survivors include two daughters, Julia Washington of Natchez and Rosie L. Hawkins of Saulk Village, IL; nine grandchildren, Gary Washington, Stevie (Debra) Washington of Tipton, GA, Damien (Brandy) Washington of Houston, TX, Patricia (Joe) Dottery of Saulk Village, IL, Cordelia R. Wells, Christopher (Gwen) Proby of Natchez, Sherry Hawkins, Ashley Hawkins and Derrick Hawkins, all of Saulk Village; nine great-grandchildren, six nieces, three nephews, seven great-nephews, four great-neices, four great-great-nieces and seven great-great-nephews; one devoted nephew, Willie Douglas of Newellton, LA; one special nephew whom she reared as her son, U.S. serviceman Stanley Douglas of Korea; a loyal and caring sister-in-law, Rosalie F. Hawkins of Natchez; and a number of other relatives and friends; one god daughter, Mattie Johnson of Lorman.

Pallbearers will be Gary Washington, Maurice Hawkins, David Hawkins, Walter Hawkins, Stanley Douglas and Melton Hawkins.

Major Lee Hollins

July 30, 1952 - April 11, 2004

WOODVILLE - Services for Major Lee Hollins, 51, of Woodville, who died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at his residence, will be at noon today at St. Matthews Church in Woodville with the Rev. Allen Scott officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral System.

Mr. Hollins was born icon July 30, 1952, in Wilkinson County, the son of Anthony King and Christina Hawkins.

He was employed with Seal Tractor Company and was a Baptist.

Survivors include one daughter and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Norah Louisville Jr.

March 24, 1914 -- April 12, 2004

NATCHEZ -- Services for Norah Louisville Jr., 90, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 12, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Grove A.M.E. Church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mr. Louisville was born icon March 24, 1914, in Claiborne County, the son of Norah Louisville Sr. and Ada Louisville.

He was retired and was a member and usher at Beulah Baptist Church. He was a Mason and a member of Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife, Darskey M. Louisville; four daughters, Carolyn Fisher of Jackson, Annie R. Cain of Natchez, Warrene (Gregory) Killian of Buffalo, N.Y. and Barbara Trask of Natchez; two sons, Levan (Kwennie) Snell of Buffalo and Wesley (Ann) Snell of Natchez; one brother, Smith Louisville of Port Gibson; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Masons.

BLUE HILL -- Funeral services for Roy M. White, 74, of Fayette, who died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at the Natchez Community Hospital in Natchez, will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Mark Baptist Church in Blue Hill with Rev. Roosevelt Harried Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mark Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be today from 12 p.m. until services at the church.

Lillian Christine Kittrell

Oct. 17, 1923 -- April 18, 2004

NATCHEZ -- Funeral arrangements for Lillian Christine Kittrell, 80, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 18, 2004, in Natchez, are being handled by Laird Funeral Home.

A private burial will follow at a later date.

Mrs. Kittrell ws born icon Oct. 17, 1923, in Buskin, La., the daughter of Charles and Lutisha Price Mayberry.

She was a resident of Natchez most of her life and was owner and operator of Beauty Bar for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Kittrell.

Survivors include one daughter, Wydonna, and her husband, Billy, both of Saucier; six grandchildren, Lisa Brassfield of Jackson, Christopher Tate of Biloxi, William G. Tate III of Miami and Cathy Hester, Butch Hester and Tina Hester, all of Monroe; and two great-grandchildren, Brandy Brassfield and Robert Brassfield, both of Jackson.

Claire Emaline Ogden

May 18, 1924 - April 18, 2004

CROSBY - Services for Claire Emaline Ogden, 79, of Jacksonville, FL, who died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, FL, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Crosby Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hollowell officiating.

Burial will be in Ogden Family cemetery in Crosby under the direction of Brown Funeral Home of Gloster.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 10:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Ogden was born icon May 18, 1924, in Jacksonville, FL, the daughter of William Edward Adams and Sarah Emaline McKinlay Adams.

She was a longtime resident of Crosby and a homemaker.

Mrs. Ogden was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, James Vardaman Ogden Jr.; one sister, Mabel Helen Danbrauskas; one daughter, Emalyn Elizabeth Ogden.

Survivors include five children, James Vardaman Ogden Jr. (Sandra) of Washington State, Gaye Diane Melton (Mike) and John Adams Ogden (Sally), all of Mississippi, Cecilia Claire Odom (Rudy) and Susanne Caroline Core (James), all of Louisiana; nine brothers and sisters, John McKinlay Adams (Catherine), Thomas Jaudon Adams (Bobbie), Nancy Dean Maddox (Walter), Charles (Buck) F. Adams, George Edward Adams (Mildred), Anna Eleanor Ingram, Glory Gaye Higginbotham (David), Laura Isabelle Bryan (Jesse) and Sarah Cynthia McKee (Don); eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James C. Mann

HATTIESBURG - Services for James C. Mann, 73, of Hattiesburg, who died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at State Veterans Home in Collins, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home Chapel in Hattiesburg.

Greaveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was president of Service Finance Corporation and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Mann was preceded in death by his wife, Sue H. Mann and son, Michael Alan Mann.

Survivors include three sons, Cliff Mann of Hattiesburg, Kenny Mann of Bossier City, LA and Steve Mann of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Joe P. Mann of Texas and Frank D. Mann of California; three grandchildren.

Patricia Coleman Jones

July 31, 1937 - April 16, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Patricia Coleman Jones, 66, who died Friday, April 16, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Stanton Sr. officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral System.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Mrs. Jones was born icon July 31, 1937, in Vicksburgs, the daughter of Clarence D. Coleman Sr. and Mary Bell Coleman.

She was a graduate of Saint Francis High School and Alcorn State University. She was an educator at Ferriday High School, Concordia Parish School System and was a faithful member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marion Coleman; and husband, Norman Jones Jr.

She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory: two brothers, Dr. Clarence D. Coleman Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA and James A. Coleman Sr. (Rhonda) of Natchez; one loving god daughter, Jocelyn DuBose (Carrick); three step-children, Norma Jean Reed, Norman E. Jones (Patricia) and Robert Jones; three nieces, Regina Coleman, Tameka Coleman and Katrina Coleman; three nephews, Myron Coleman (Patricia), James Coleman Jr. (Sha'Tarra) and Barry Williams Sr. (Carol); a special cousin, Alma Turner; and a number of other relatives and friends.
