Katie Mae Neal was born icon April 17, 1951 to the late Ira and Mary Reed in Bovina, Mississippi. She was baptized at Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church by Reverend James Williams.

Katie was a homemaker and loving mother of six children who made her proud. She was filled with compassion to help anyone in need. She was successful in raising her five boys to stand as independent and respectful men.

Katie has one daughter (and caregiver), Crissy Neal who she has raised to work hard, to be God fearing and to take care of her family. She has played a major role in the lives of her grandchildren and great grands who also made her proud.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Mary Reed; along with her sisters, Virginia “Sista” Ivory, Rosie “Lee Lee” (Joe) Nelson; her brothers, Leonard “L.B.” (Mary) Cook, George Henry “Jack” Reed, Sr. and Robert Lee “Bob” Reed, Sr.; and one grandson, Terry Robinson.

Katie leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Crissy Neal of Vicksburg, Mississippi; five sons, Karl Neal of Redwood, Mississippi, Kendrick (Toya) Neal of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kevin (Lisa) Neal, Keith (Christy) Neal and Kyle (Tarsha) Neal all of Vicksburg, Mississippi; twenty-two grandchildren, Karl, Jr., Chelsa, Jasmine, Laquita, Kayla, Ciara, Kendrick, Jr., Kendall, Jerrick (Amber), Patrick, Katia, LaKevion, Maurice, Sheridan, Shedarian, Zkeariah, Jerry, Kyleigh, Ravin, Romeo, and DeMarcus; 2 grandchildren, Jayden and Aalaysha; sister, Ivory Mae (Charles, Sr.) Rushing of Chicago, Illinois; brother, Bruce Reed of Bovina, Mississippi; two sisters-in-law, Mazolla Reed of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and Georgia Reed of Vicksburg, Mississippi; brother-in-law, Sterling ivory, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including Columbus Neal, Jr.

Katie departed this world as she lived her life at peace with her family by her side.

Clottie Allison was born icon September 10, 1925, in Clinton, Mississippi to the late Mr. And Mrs. Sim and Bessie Putman.

She departed her life on February 20, 2014 at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Clottie was 88 years old.

She was a dedicated usher at her church until her illness. “I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord.”

Clottie Allison was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Sim Putman and the late Bessie Putman; her daughter, Rose Lee Harris Taylor; her sisters Alberta Batte, Annie Mae Magee, Mattie Schler, Josie Brown, Marie McCombs, Ada Gaines, Marlie Atkinsen, Bertha Lewis; one brother, Fred Putman and other siblings; a granddaughter, Clottie Lee Harris; grandson, Solomon Harris; great-grandson, David Becker; great-granddaughter, Tilian Becker.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her grandson, Roosevelt (Lee Ester) Rounds that she reared as her son; granddaughters, Bobbie (Joseph) Allen, Sharon Becker, Rose Lee Becker, Betty Harris that she reared as daughters; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bobbie Ann Noel was born icon on November 26, 1953, to the late Agnes and Lee Lester Hodge in Edwards, MS.

Bobbie accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She was baptized at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She later became a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

Bobbie attended grammar school in Edwards, MS. She attended Hinds County Agricultural High School where she graduated in 1971.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her loving life-long companion Willie Earl Hubbard; two brothers, Robert Lee and Walter Hodge; and a special Uncle-Raymond (Bo) Hodge.

Bobbie was a devoted mother and grandmother, she aided in raising three generations of children. Always seeking opportunities to bring the family together, Bobbie conducted Sunday dinners. Her legacy of being a phenomenal caregiver will live in the hearts of all that loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Three sons, Ramiro (Shawanda) Noel of Vicksburg, MS; Clifford Hubbard Noel and Dorian Hodge of Edwards, MS; Six Grandchildren, Corlandus Nelson, Derrick Nelson, Kalandria Nelson, Kevondre Noel of Edwards, MS; Jessica Williams of Bolton, MS; and Charesse Moore of Vicksburg, MS. One great granddaughter, Corneshia Nelson of Edwards, MS; One daughter in law, Kesha Nelson Noel; Four brothers, Hillman Earl (Bonnie) Hodge, Willie (Claudette) and Lester Hodge all of Edwards, MS and Kennard (Deloris) Hodge of Atlanta, GA; Three sisters; Glenda Hodge of Jackson, MS, Verlene Hodge of Edwards, MS, and Alice (Willie) Shorter of Vicksburg, MS; One sister in law, Nefia Hodge of Tacoma, Washington; One uncle, Walter Hunter of Little Rock Arkansas, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

On January 5, nineteen hundred and fifty-five, I was born icon the baby girl of the late Scott Sr., and Pearline Bell “Honey” Nash in Claiborne County. I had grandparents that loved me dearly-the late John Madison and Lena Bishop Bell and the late Tom and Emma Nash.

I was reared with my sisters Bobbie Jean Wesley of Vicksburg, MS, Angela Yvonne and Emma Lee Nash of Port Gibson, MS and the late Ethel Ruth Parker and Wilma Lee Nash and my brothers, Marcus “Mike” Nash of Port Gibson and the late Scott Nash, Jr.

God blessed me to bear lovely fruits: a son, Anthony Nash and two daughters, Tina (Roy) Qualls and Zel Odoms all of Vicksburg, MS. He also blessed me with a son and daughter who will greet me when I reach my Heavenly Home. From my fruits I received nine grandchildren: Alaka Freeman, DeArius Christmas, Jamoni Odoms, Jaylen Odoms, Royveon Qualls, Tekarius Qualls, Zhy’yae Qualls, Anthony Nash Jr., DeAnthony Nash all of Vicksburg, MS and three that weren’t by blood but I loved them just the same: Shonterria and Roy Qualls, Jr. and Charles Mitchell of Vicksburg, MS.

I was blessed with two great grandchildren, Elkreyonia and Elton Wilson, Jr., of Vicksburg, MS. In the late 1990’s I met my husband, John Nickerson and to this union I received three daughters, Khellie (Chris) Lockridge, Cretonia Nickerson of Vicksburg, MS and Toni Nickerson of North Carolina. This union blessed me with grandchildren as well: Charity and Kelsey, and Chris Lockridge, Emari and Eyana Nickerson of Vicksburg, MS; a sister-in-law, Joanne (Riley) Reese of Detroit, Michigan and two brothers-in-law, Norman and Peter Price of Vicksburg, MS. I leave two aunts to cherish my memories; Dorothy Bell and Maddie Lee Bell of Vicksburg, MS and oh so many nieces and nephews. I leave my cousins whom I love dearly of the Bell and Nash decedents. I leave behind so many good friends.

Ms. Zorada Derby, affectionately remembered as “Zoe”, was born icon May 27, 1957, tothe late Edna Prentiss-Derby and the late Roscoe Derby, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She was baptized at early age into the Baptist faith. She loved the Lord; and she worshiped with Truly Ministries untilher passing.

Zoe was a graduate of Warren Central High School in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Hinds Community College in Utica, Mississippi.

Zoe was preceded in death by: two sisters, Theresa Derby-Myles and Lillian Derby-Miller; two brothers, Willie Freeman and Leroy Prentiss-Bride; and an aunt, Louise “Charlie” Means.

Zoe leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Natasha (Eric) West of Vicksburg, Mississippi; one brother, Larry Freeman of Vicksburg, Mississippi; three grandchildren; Seven West, Dallas West, and Dakota West; a special niece, Octavia Myles; special nephews Charles Myles, Jr. and Joshua Myles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including the Derby, Calvin, Williams, Myles, Freeman, Prentiss, West, Chiplin, Eastman, and Cosey families.

Mr. Ronald Wells, affectionately called ‘Malibu’ was born icon in Vicksburg, MS on November 20, 1950 to the late Roy Wells, Sr. and Lucille Smith Wells.

He began his Christian walk early in life at Mt. Zion #1 M. B. Church where he was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. James Miller.

A 1968 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School, he continued his studies at Utica Junior College and Alcorn A & M College. His studies were in the field of Architecture, concentrating on carpentry. With skillful hands, he went to work at Grand Gulf where he later retired.

He was united in holy matrimony to Vera Ann Shorter on March 27, 1975. He was a loving husband, father, hard worker, and a man of integrity. On February 5, 2014, Ronald transitioned from this earthly home and has now joined his father and mother in their heavenly home.

He leaves to cherish his life of memories to his loving wife, Vera, two sons, Ronald T. Wells and Raffel D. Wells both of Vicksburg, MSand a step-daughter, Agnes M. Shorter of Bedford, TX; His siblings, Catherine Webb-Parker of Vallejo, CA, Roy Wells, Jr. of Everett, WA, Shirley Wells-Hill of Memphis TN, and half-sister, Rosalyn (Michael) Gates of Vicksburg, MS; two sister-in-laws, Theresa (Michael) Edwards of Vicksburg, MS, and Frances (David) Jones of Aurora, IL; two brother-in-laws, Percy (Monica) Shorter and John (Vicki) Shorter both of Vicksburg, MS; four grandchildren, Zayden Hatchett, Shayron Myles, Tavia Shorter, and Paige Hester. Also to cherish his memory are a host of nieces. nephews, cousins and close family friends including Janice Allen.
