Florence O’Neal Kiner was born icon on November 12, 1944 in Vicksburg to the late Lucille O’Neal Elmore and George O’Neal and her stepfather John Elmore.

Florence passed away on May 21, 2013 at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Donnell Kiner; her parents Lucille O’Neal Elmore, George O’Neal and her stepfather John Elmore; two sisters, Eliza O’Neal and Rose Mary O’Neal and a brother, Johnny O’Neal.

She was the proud mother of 3 daughters whom she loved dearly. Her presence, guidance and love will be greatly missed.

Florence accepted Christ at an early age. She was of the Baptist faith. She was employed at Shady Lawn Nursing Home as a dietitian.

She is survived by three daughters, Janice O’Neal, Linda O’Neal and Carolyn Kiner; three sisters, Beatrice Thomas, Willie Williams and Juanita O’Neal; two brothers, Joseph O’Neal and Charles Phoenix; seven grandchildren, Charles O’Neal, Paul O’Neal, Tamika O’Neal, Timothy O’Neal, Sharon O’Neal, Sharita O’Neal and Kendra O’Neal; great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews along with family friend, Jackie Dart Lewis.

On November 5, 1958, God blessed George Bell and Dora Lee Bell with a son, George E. Bell, which they adored very much. Both of his parents preceded him in death. George made his transition from this world to his heavenly home on May 14, 2013 through the passage way of East Jefferson Medical Center.

George was born icon in Chicago, Illinois, and mostly reared in Brandon, Mississippi. He was educated at Carter School in Brandon and Northwest High in Chicago, Illinois.

He confessed his belief in Christ and was baptized at an early age at Sandhill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend N. C. Taylor. George attended Sandhill for many years until he united with the Tree of Life Church in Jackson, Mississippi where he served as a deacon in training.

He resided in the state of Mississippi until his recent move a little over two years ago to Metairie, Louisiana. He attended Sounds of Worship Church of Metairie, Louisiana under the leadership of Pastor Lolita Pippin and Pastor Colin Pippin, where he served faithfully until God called him home.

He labored at Drago's Restaurant in Metairie which he enjoyed and often spoke of in a very positive light in that they had a family environment; he has now moved up to a higher calling to labor in God's vineyard.

George loved the Lord with all his heart; it was certainly his favorite topic of discussion. He spent lengthy time studying God's word, he did not just read it, he knew it, and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of God's word with others.

He touched many lives in his passing through this life in that he leaves to reflect on his wonderful memories: two children, Terrica Kachelle Windham, Walnut Grove, Mississippi, George Edward Bell, Jr., Jackson, Mississippi; one granddaughter; two sisters, Elaine T. Kelly, Pearl, Mississippi and Rochelle Dobson, New Orleans, Louisiana; one special aunt, Doreatha Kelly, Brandon, Mississippi and a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Irma Faye Woodson was born icon October 2, 1961 to Zelma Lee Woodson and the late James McNair in Warren County, Vicksburg, Mississippi. God called and she answered, departing this life on Friday, May 10, 2013 at University Medical Center, Jackson, MS.

She confessed Christ as a young child at Greater Mt. Olive #2 Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Douglas Harris.

Ms. Woodson attended Vicksburg High School, and worked for many years at The Heritage House. She remained a dedicated worker until her health began to fail.

She was preceded in death by her father, James McNair; her maternal grandparents, Lillie Mae Woodson and Joe Woodson Sr.; two uncles, Mannie Johnson and Clarence Johnson; three Aunts, Lillie B. Woodson, Georgia Wilson, and Ruby Jackson.

Cherishing her memories, she leaves: A loving and caring Fiance, Roosevelt Gardner of Vicksburg, MS; a loving and devoted mother, Zelma Lee Woodson; two daughters, Kimberly Woodson and Erica Woodson of Vicksburg; one son, Jonathan Woodson also of Vicksburg; a sister, Janice Woodson of Vicksburg; two brothers, Melvin Woodson and Kevin Woodson Sr.; two granddaughters, Jayla Woodson and Sumer Faye DeFrance; two grand-sons, Ivory Joe Walker, Ill and John Howard Jr. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, Cousins and friends. Included are: Eleanor "LoLo" Jackson, the Byrd, Wilson, Wildee, Stamps, Erves, and Jackson Families.

Mr. Harold Barker was born icon January 15, 1941 to Onary Battle and Howard Barker in Edwards, Mississippi. He was the second oldest of nine children. Mr. Barker served our country with the Army Reserves and the National Guard. During his military experience he fought in the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart for his bravery. During this time Mr. Barker also married icon his one true love, Earnestine (Thomas-Horton) Barker. Following his discharge in 1968 Mr. Barker migrated to Flint, Michigan and was employed by General Motors for 37.5 years. His skilled trades include: pipe fitter, tool & dye, electrician, mill right, and jig & fixture. He also served as the benefits representative and member of UAW 1292. After retirement, Mr. Barker fulfilled his dream of relocating to Edwards Mississippi and building his dream house. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, playing the guitar and fixing things around the house.

While living in Flint, Mr. Barker was also a dedicated Mason of Eureka Lodge#16 (F. & A.M.) Prince Hall Affiliation, where he was a 32 Degree Scottish Rite in the Northern District. After relocating to Edwards, Mr. Barker became a member of Flaming Sword Lodge #101 (F. & A. M.) Prince Hall Affiliation where he served as Senior Warden. In addition, Mr. Barker is a Life Member of the National Association For The Advancement Of Colored People (NAACP).

Mr. Barker leaves to cherish his memory – Stepmother - Frances Barker; Wife - Earnestine Barker; Three children - Tina Machelle Barker, Sophia Karen Barker, Jerome Edgar Barker; One grandchild - Tareese Alfonso Barker; Seven Siblings - Joan Bryant, Phillip Battle, Elsie Easley, John (Linda) Kirkland, Howard Kirkland Jr., Gwenda (Anthony) Brown, Belinda R. Washington; Aunts - Margaret Williams of Rantour Illinois and Louise P. North of Mobile Alabama; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends survive.

Mr.Barker was preceded in death by – His parents - Onary Battle and Howard Barker; Stepfather - Howard Kirkland; Brother - Lewis Kirkland.

Bubba Gene Judge, Sr. was born icon January 24, 1936 to the late Beatrice Swartz, and Clifton Judge, Sr. He received Christ and was baptized at an early age. In 2011, he rededicated his life to Christ and became a member of Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Walter Weathersby, where he served until death. He would often say after service on Sunday, "That Lil man really preached."

On March 25, 1963, he married icon Emma Sims and they remained happily married icon until his death.

Bubba leaves to treasure and embrace his memories: his loving wife of 50 years, Mrs. Emma Judge; three sons, Bubba Judge, Jr., Augusta (Chris) Judge, both of Vicksburg, Mississippi and William Judge of Little Rock, Arkansas; five daughters, Brenda (Patrick) Tucker, Mary Nettle, Lillian (Floyd) Davenport, all of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Emma Jean (John) Golston of Grain Valley, Missouri, and Mary Jean Judge of Jackson, Mississippi; eight brothers, Charles (Phillemean) Swartz, Earl (Shirley) Swartz, Willie (Jackie) Swartz, Chris (Faye) Judge, all of Vicksburg, Mississippi, James (Patricia) Swartz of Junction City, Kansas, Frank (Mary) Young, Clifton Judge, both of Detroit, Michigan and Curtis Judge of Myersville, Mississippi; eight sisters, Dorothy Swartz, Vivian (Robert) Ware, Melvin (Malachi) Turner, and Della Richardson, all of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Mae Ruth Watson, Rosie Wailey, Mattie Andrews and Beverly Moffett, all of Chicago, Illinois; twenty nine grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and a host of nephews, and nieces, including the Anderson family.

The mortal life of our beloved Carl Hodge began on January 29, 1963, in Warren County, to the union of the late John A. Hodge, Sr., and Robbie Jordan Hodge. He was the second of four children.

"A Time To Live"
Carl's education began at Edwards Elementary School and Hinds A.H.S. in Utica, Mississippi. He later graduated from truck driving school. Carl was a joy to be around; full of laughter and fun. He enjoyed time spent with friends, but most of all, he enjoyed the time spent with his family.

"A Time To Associate"
Carl accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord at an early age and was baptized at Spring Ridge Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late E. W. Cornelius.

"A Time To Die"
Carl departed this life on May 4, 2013 at the Baptist Hospital. Carl very quietly entered into the loving arms of Jesus.

Alonzo Curtis, Sr. passed away April 29, 2013 at the age of 58. Alonzo was born icon on February 11, 1955 to the late Elizabeth (Robert) Khee and Alex Curtis, Sr.

Curtis always lived in Vicksburg, Ms. He graduated FROM Vicksburg High School and attended Alcorn State University. After 20 years, he retired from Mississippi School for the Deaf and Blind.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Elizabeth Khee, his stepfather, Robert Khee, Sr., his father, Alex Curtis, Sr., his brother, Alex Curtis, Jr. and his step-brother, Robert Khee, Jr.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joyce Curtis; brothers, Aaron Cutis and Robert Lee Curtis of MS; daughters, Katrina (Tony) Heck of Jacksonville, FL, La’Quinta Curtis of Houston, TX, Chandra Curtis of Vicksburg, MS, and Kimberly Jenkins of Memphis, TN; sons, Raymondia (Tracy) McKay on Plano, TX, Cedric Moore of Oklahoma City, OK, Alonzo (Regina) Curtis, Jr., Dairren Curtis, Alex Curtis, and Darrton Allen of Vicksburg, MS; a nephew, 20 grandchildren, and a special friend of the family, Carol McKay Williams of Vicksburg, MS and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Debra D. Carson; brother, Kevin D. Carson; paternal grandparent, Paul Shorts and maternal grandparents; Abie Lee and Savannah Carson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his parents; Percy Shorts of Port Gibson, Mississippi and Kathryn J. Carson of Vicksburg, Mississippi; two sisters, Ellen M. Carson and Karen S.
