He was embraced by Jesus Christ and taken to his eternal home on Thursday August 2, 2012.

Deacon Morrow was born icon on December 4, 1922 to the late Fred and Pinkie Morrow in Rural Hinds County. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Poplar Grove Independent Methodist Church where he served as chairman of the Deacon Board. On December 18, 1947 he was united in holy matrimony to the late Edna Clark Morrow, and to this union ten children were born. He was employed with Hinds County Road Department and the Corp of Engineers Mat Sink Unit.

He was preceded in death by three children: Walter Morrow, Alma Morrow Kinnard and George Upson; three sisters: Selma Morrow, Alma Myles and Zeanette Cooper and one brother, Fred Morrow.

He leaves to cherish his memories five daughters: Margaret A. (Donald) Jamison, Inglewood, CA; Margaret J. (Gary) Lemon of Opelousas, LA; Ida M. (Robert) Odems and Rosie M. Noel both of Edwards, MS; Esther (Albert) Cole of Utica, MS. Two sons: Larry D. (Barbara) Morrow of Raymond, MS; Johnny (Agnes) Morrow of Vicksburg, MS; Two sons he reared: Ronnie Clark of Edwards, MS and Bobby Clark of Byram, MS; one son-in-law; Robert L. Kinnard of Saginaw, MI. Two sisters: Thelma Moore and Jeanette Clark both of Edwards, MS; one sister-in-law, Alma Clark of Lansing, MI and one brother-in-law, Eddie Cooper of Edwards, MS. He also leaves his legacy to 25 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Myrtle Delores “Duce” Johnson Chong died on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Promise Medical Hospital. She was 78. She was born icon on October 12, 1933, to the late Jessie Johnson, Sr. and Mary Warren Johnson. Mrs. Chong was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg, MS. She accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member a St. Mary’s Catholic Church up until her health started to decline. She was a faithful member of the choir and St. Mary’s Ladies of Perpetual Help Solidarity. Mrs. Chong graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School and received an associate degree from Utica Junior College. She also attended Alcorn State University. Mrs. Chong was retired from Sears Department Store with over 30 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Jessie Johnson Sr.; husband, Willie Chong; son, Mark A. Johnson Sr.; two brothers, Willie L. Johnson and Jessie Johnson, Jr.; and a sister, Lois J. Lee.

She is survived by two sons, Josef Johnson of Los Angeles, CA and Cecil Johnson (Patricia) of Horn Lake, MS; four sisters, Esther Taylor of San Diego, CA; Doris Jacobs of Vacherie, LA; Gayle Lee (Robert) of Jackson, MS; and Brenda Johnson of Santa Clarita, CA; one brother, Darrell Johnson (Sherrie) of Vicksburg, MS; seven grandchildren, Aaliyah, Myron, Cierra, Franchesca, Kara, Asia, Mark Jr.; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

M Mr. Ezra Livingston, Jr. was born icon June 4, 1929 to the late Ezra Livingston, Sr. and Jewel Blakley LiiLivingston in Mexia, Texas, the ninth of eleven siblings. Ezra accepted Christ at an early age and joijoined Whitens Chapel Methodist Church in Freestone County, Texas. He later attended and mgraduated from Furney Richardson High School in Teague, Texas. Following graduation, Ezra mmoved to Detroit, Michigan.

OOnce in Detroit, Ezra was employed by Ford Motor Company as a skilled tradesman, where he wworked for more than 33 years before retiring in 1981. During his tenure at Ford, he also served as

a a PFC in the United States Army during the Korean War.

EEzra was united in marriage to Rosalee Adams, and three children were born icon to this union – Ezra LiLivingston, III, Karen Livingston-Wilson and Judith Livingston.

EEzra joined John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church. While there, he was an active and faithful baritone choir mmember. He and his family later united with Oak Grove A.M.E. Church, also in Detroit.

EEzra Livingston was also an entrepreneur. He became a licensed Real Estate agent with Miller BrBother Realty in the 1960’s and also owned and operated an ice cream shop and restaurant for sseveral years during the 1970’s.

EEzra and Rosalee divorced after decades of marriage, however, they maintained a friendly rerelationship.

EEzra loved and was very proud of his children, so much so that he moved to Mississippi in 2004 to bbe near his daughters.

In In his leisure time, Mr. Livingston enjoyed fishing, dancing, traveling, bowling and playing bid whist wiwith friends. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

EEzra leaves to mourn his passing: three children, son, Ezra Livingston, III; daughters, Karen E. LiLivingston-Wilson (Mark) and Judith A. Livingston; one sister, Pearlene Cook; one grandson, Mark EEdward Wilson, Jr.; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

TThe siblings who predeceased him were Ruby E. Stevenson, Jewlene McWilliams, Avie Anderson, MiMinnie Lee Napp, Lawrence Livingston, Edward Livingston, Clyde Livingston, Jessie Livingston and EEarnest Livingston.

Andre Dotson was born icon on May 18, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri to Ann Brown. He was raised by his grandparents, Gadi and Reva Dotson.

Andre graduated from Sumner High School in St. Louis. At Sumner, Andre was a star member of the track team. Upon graduation, he was awarded an athletic scholarship to Oklahoma State University. It was at Oklahoma State, he developed his passion for sports medicine. Following his dream to be an athletic trainer, Andre was given the opportunity to share his talent and love of sports with several colleges and universities, including Jackson State, Alcorn State and Tougaloo College. He worked many NYSP sports camps, but working the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, GA was the highlight of his career in sports medicine. During that summer, Andre was awarded the 'Most Outstanding Athletic Trainer' of baseball. He continued his career in sports while employed with the Jackson Senators baseball team and the Claiborne County School District. Andre was employed for almost seven years as athletic equipment manager at Jackson State University.
Andre was a member of Vicksburg Family Life Cathedral, where he volunteered with the media ministry. He had a passion for serving others even if it meant sacrificing himself. He was a true example of Christian love.

Andre was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gadi Dotson, uncle Nathaniel Dotson and sister Sharon Dotson.

He leaves to cherish a devoted wife, Jacqueline Burns Dotson; the four children he raised, Kevin Grant, Corey Burns, Latoya Williams and Jeremy Dotson all of Vicksburg. His grandmother, Reva Allen Dotson of St. Louis, M0; mother, Ann Brown of Covina, CA; sister Karen Dotson; aunts, Oneida (John) Williams, Juanita Williams, all of California, Rosie Reed and Alice Mayfield both of Vicksburg; uncles, John (Elizabeth) Dotson and Carl (Patricia) Dotson both of St. Louis; and a host of other relatives and friends including Ebony Hall, Jonathan Smith, Bertha Allen, the Allen, Burns, and Gilliam families, nieces, nephews, cousins, father-in-law, Joseph Burns (Barbara) and sisters-in-law, Angela Burns, Stephanie Burns, and Felicia Burns Etefia (Basil).

Mr. James E. “Slim” Thomas passed away on July 12, 2012 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was 61.

Mr. Thomas was born icon March 29, 1951 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, the son of the late Freddie Wright and Virginia Thomas Bradley. He was employed by General Motors for 34 ˝ years in Michigan. He enjoyed music, family gatherings and loved his family dearly.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Wright and mother, Virginia Bradley.

Survivors include his daughter, Alaishia Thomas of Lansing Michigan; son, James E. Thomas II of Lansing, Michigan; 3 grandchildren of Lansing, Michigan; four sisters, Rosella Parker and Ella Lee Smith both of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Hattie Harris and Camellia Mills both of Katy, Texas; one brother, Cornelius Bradley of Vicksburg, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including the Thomas, Bradley, Singleton, Horton and Roby families.

Raymond Hodge was born icon August 19, 1941 to the late Mr. Sherman Hodge, Sr. and Mrs. Mattie Alexander Hodge in Edwards, Mississippi.

Raymond departed this life on Friday, July 13, 2012 at University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeneva Hodge, Ollie B. Hodge, Rebecca Allen, Maggie Hill, Lettia Hodge, and Mattie Moffett; brothers, Junior Richardson, Sherman Hodge, Jr., Elijah Hodge, John Hodge, Lester Hodge, and Henry Hodge.

Raymond attended Edwards Attendance Center and later attended Utica Jr. College. Raymond worked at Hill City Oil Company for 33 years.

Raymond accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a very young age at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Edwards, Mississippi.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a lovely wife, Beatrice Hodge; three sons, Anthony Hodge and Desmond Brookshire of Edwards, Mississippi and Donald German of Vicksburg, Mississippi; one sister, Irene Johnson of Jackson, Mississippi; and two sisters-in-law, Robbie Hodge of Edwards, Mississippi and Margaret Hodge of Jackson, Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Isaac Henderson was granted his angel wings on July 12, 2012.

His final days were spent surrounded by family & friends that Isaac touched in some way throughout his life. Isaac was born icon April 23, 1947, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to the late James and Annie Bell Scott Henderson.

He was the eleventh of fourteen children. His parents preceded him in death, along with his
sisters Rosie Henderson, Lucinda Henderson Hyder, Luella Henderson Moore, and brothers, James Henderson, Jr., Randolph Henderson, Sherman Henderson, Henry Henderson, and Lutinenant Henderson.

He attended Rosa A. Temple High School where he played football. He confessed Christ at an early age. He was a giving man that was always ready to help those in need.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children; Toni Henderson-Lipscomb, Betty Robertson, & Antwone Henderson. His sisters & brother: Annie Bell (Charles) Derby, May (John) Gibson, Estella (Sylvester) Freeman, Cora (Robert) Kelly, & William Henderson, along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, & cousins and his special friend Dorothy Robertson, along with the Henderson, Carson, Robertson, Johnson, & Reynolds families. He will be greatly missed.

As surely as God is love, Collars T. Moore entered this world on January 25, 1981, Elver L. Moore and Oscar Laws, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Edna (Big Momma) Harris and the late Judge and Lucille Price helped in rearing him.

Collars was baptized and united in Christian fellowship at a very early age at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Elzie O’Neal. In the fall of 2008 he decided to commit his life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and united with Ratliff Chapel Church under the leadership of Bishop Michael B. Nesby and remained faithful and loyal until his home going. He enjoyed singing in the RCC Choir and praising my Father.

Collars attended Edwards Elementary, and graduated from Hinds Agricultural High School in 2000 where he was voted Mr. Hinds A.H.S. He continued his education at Hinds Community College and Jackson State University. He was employed by Jackson State University in Facilities and Construction Management for ten years and earned the love and respect of his co-workers and friends through his integrity, loyalty and self-respect. He loved his job and he loved the people he came in contact with each day.

Collars was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome, which is a rare kidney disorder in 2005. There were only three cases in the state of Mississippi and two of the cases were in Edwards. He received a kidney transplant in 2010 and his body rejected it in January 2012. He never complained about his illness always kept the faith that his God was able to heal his body and if didn’t heal his body on this side he would receive a glorified body in heaven.

The final chapter of his life was recorded in the presence of his devoted mother, brothers, aunts and other family members on July 15, 2012 at his home. His maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents and aunt preceded him in death.

Collars was abundantly blessed and leave his unfaltering love and affection to his mother Elver L. Moore of Edwards, Mississippi; his father Oscar (Linda) Laws of Utica, Mississippi; his grandmother Edna Harris of Clinton, Mississippi; brothers Kaldrian Moore, Sr., Trollars Moore and Patrick (Kimberly) Mack of Edwards, Mississippi, Oscar Jones of Jackson, Mississippi, Marwin (Rashandra) Laws of Utica, Mississippi; sisters Marita Smith and Kimberly Ferguson of Vicksburg, Mississippi; godparents, Don and Cassandra Lee of Edwards, Mississippi; aunts, Betty (Larry) Neal, Shirley (James Calvin) Price, Ella Mae Johnson, Alma Garrett, Dorothy Jean Harris, Mary (Terrance) Clark of Raymond, Mississippi; Jacqueline (Johnny) Thomas of Grace, Mississippi, Julia Sims of Bolton, Mississippi; Margie (Rufus) Williams, Pasty Elmore, Louise Price, Jean White and Brenda Wilson of Edwards, Mississippi, Osie (Louis) Turner of Picayune, Mississippi, Helen Mosley of Champaign, Illinois and Stella Price of Southfield, Michigan; uncles: Curtis Wilson, Stanley (Darlene) Nelson and Kelly (Jessie Mae) Jelks of Edwards, Mississippi, John (Janet) Wilson of Clinton, Mississippi, Earl (Deloris) Wilson and Jeremiah (Alice) Shelby of Jackson, Mississippi, Tommy (Patricia) Nelson of Byram, Mississippi, Ernest Price of Detroit, Michigan; three great aunts, Minnie Beechem of Jackson, Mississippi, ReElla Turner of Jackson, Mississippi, Eunice Moore and Victoria Bush of Edwards, Mississippi along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family Jeannie Griffin, Gloria Miller, Dr. Vivian Fuller, JSU Family, Hope Walton, Burks, Coleman, Daniels and Goodson Families.
