Odessa "OD" Alexander was born icon on January 11, 1962, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to Mytell Alexander and the late Samuel Alexander, Sr.

Odessa Alexander was a member of Greater Jerusalem Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi, pastored by Reverend Kemp Burley. She loved to laugh and spend time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Alexander, Sr.; one sister, Shirley Hargrove; one brother, Samuel “Yank” Alexander.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her mother, Mytell Alexander of Vicksburg, Mississippi; two daughters, Victoria Alexander Conner of Jackson, Mississippi and Urania Stewart of New Orleans, Louisiana; three sons, Morris Alexander, Edward Alexander both of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Marcell Alexander of Jackson, Mississippi; brothers, Samuel Alexander, Jr., Gregory Alexander and Paul Alexander all of Vicksburg, Mississippi; sisters, Mary Alexander of Jackson, Mississippi and Janice Benard of Vicksburg, Mississippi; eleven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and relatives.

Dorothy Dickerson died April 3, 2016 at The Landmark of DeSoto in Horn Lake, MS. She was 75.

She was born icon September 25, 1940 in Vicksburg to Georgia Harvard and the late Jessie Clay.

She has been one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 40 years. She was faithful until her health failed.

She is survived by her mother, Georgia Harvard of Vicksburg, MS; two daughters, Yvette (Frederick) Price of Memphis, TN and Cleo Dickerson of Columbia, MD; one sister, Rosa Bells of Vicksburg, MS; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nephews and a niece.

Mrs. Annie Mary Jones was born icon on July 12, 1945 to John Robinson (deceased) and Burmese Reed-Robinson(deceased) in Vicksburg, MS.

Mother Jones accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Christian Home M. B. Church #2 where she served on the motherboard.

She retired from Shady Lawn Nursing Home where she worked in dietary. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie Jones, Jr. (deceased) and unto these union five children was born.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Jones, Jr.; her father, John Robinson; her mother, Bermese Reed­Robinson; two brothers, Willie Williams and John T. Robinson, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters: Rochelle Jones of Vicksburg, MS and Rhonda Young of Mesa, AZ; three sons: Kennedy Robinson of Vicksburg, MS, Kevin Jones of Laurel, MS, and Willie Jones III of Mesa, AZ; one brother: Dr. Joseph Russell of Jackson, MS; six Sisters: Tommie Robinson of Vicksburg, MS, Ellen J. Robinson-Thomas and Laura L. Robinson of Mesa, AZ, LouTisha (James) McReynolds of Rialto, CA, Marion (Marvin) Smith of Grand Rapids, MI, and Mamie (Thomas) Smith of Fayetteville, NC, one uncle: Clarence(Gloria) Reed of Belzonia, MS, eleven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friend, Misty Collars, and other loving relatives and friends including Martha White, Mattie Gary, Harvey Reese and members of the Thomas, Judges, Reese, Russell, Lacey, Mayfield, and Gardner families.

Mr. Ragan was born icon on December 2, 1935. He was a long standing member and deacon of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church #3 where he faithfully served until his health failed in March 11, 2016.

On August 31, 1958, James was united in holy matrimony to Alice Juanita Templeton of Vicksburg, Mississippi.

He retired twenty years from the United States Air Force giving him the opportunity to serve his country and for his family to see and live in our country and foreign lands. He also retired as a heavy equipment operator from Lewis Miller Construction Company and Warren County.

James loved to be busy whether outside with his flowers in his garden or just cutting the grass. He also loved hunting and being with the men at the deer camp where he taught his sons how to hunt. If weather conditions were not conducive for him being outside, he would be involved with a wood or metal project.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Robertus Ragan and his wife, Alice Juanita Ragan preceded him in death.

Mr. Ragan is survived by his children; Kevin Ragan of Killeen, Texas, LaRue Ragan of East Palo Alto, California, Catina (Alfred, Sr.) Reed of Vicksburg, Mississippi and James Edward (Kimberly) Ragan, Jr. of Madison, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Catina Reed, Alfred Reed, Jr. Sonia Alczar, Hope Ragan, Madison Ragan, James Ragan III and Jackson Ragan; one great-grandson, Jaydon Michael Ellis; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Mary Lee "Sister" Seaton

A time to be born

Mary Lee Seaton was born icon September 14, 1944 in Onward, MS to the late Indy Simpson and the late Dee Watley.

She confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age. Her profession of faith was one that she took seriously. She became a member of the New Hope M. B. Church of Blanton where she served as an usher and worked on various committees until her health failed.

Mary was united in holy matrimony to the late Danny Seaton. To this union, nine (9) children were born.

A time to die

On March 28, 2016 at 3:15 a.m., the Lord God, in His infinite wisdom, sent an angel to the Delta Regional Medical Center to take His child home. She has made her transition; she has left the land of the dying and is now on her way to the land of the living. She has gone on to be with her family members who have gone before her; her son Danny Watley, grandson, Nigel Smith, her mother Indy Simpson and father Dee Watley, sister, Dora Burns, brother, Willie Watley, and husband Danny Seaton.

A time to mourn

She leaves behind to cherish her memories and keep her near and dear in their hearts (5) sons Robert Earl Watley, Charles B. Seaton, and Sheldon Trent Seaton, all ofCary, MS, Larry (Fannie) Seaton of Wesson, MS, and Valadimir (Cassandra) Seaton of Colorado Springs, CO; three (3) daughters; Vickey Seaton ofCary, MS, Teresa Seaton of Rolling Fork, MS, and Yvonne Smith of Chicago, II; three (3) sisters, Dorothy (D.W.) Johnson, Sammie Armstrong, and Tressie Payne; twenty one (21) grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Fredrick (Freddie) Anthony Wildee was born icon October 16, 1958, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to the late Earnest Wildee and Sarah Jackson Wildee.

He attended Warren Central High School. Fredrick Wildee worked for Foam Packaging, Inc. for 26 years. He was employed there at the time of his passing. Fredrick Wildee passed on March 23, 2016. He was 57 years old.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a sister, Georgia Wildee Williams.

Fredrick leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his homegoing: his wife of 26 years, Linda Wildee; stepson, Marcus (Sabrina) Powell of Abilene, Texas; daughter, LaShonna Wildee of Vicksburg, Mississippi; brothers, Earnest Wildee, John (Janice) Wildee, and Arthur Wildee all of Vicksburg, Mississippi; sister, Annie Wildee, Vicksburg, Mississippi; seven brothers-in-law, Christopher (Beverly) Williams of Chicago, Illinois, Robert (Barbara) Hubbard of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Willie Gross of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Larry (Nachelle) Hubbard and Anthony Hubbard both of Memphis, Tennessee, Benny (Kimberly) Hubbard of Jackson, Mississippi, and Cedrick Hubbard of Vicksburg, Mississippi; four sisters-in-law, Artemease (Bob) Strong of Gardenia, California, Lillian (James, deceased) Porter, Tommie Lee Hubbard, and Tommie (David, deceased) Hubbard all of Vicksburg, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including Larry (Sharon) King, Earl (Brenda) Carson, Ben (Grace) Brown, and the Foam Packaging, Inc. family of Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Ronnie King Hill entered the Kingdom on March 9, 2016. He was born icon to the late Henry King Hill and Velma Hill on December 1, 1962 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He accepted Christ at an early age and passed away at the age of 53. Ronnie graduated from Vicksburg High School and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Organization.

God saw that his garden had a special seat available so He looked for a special angel to fill that seat when He realized that Ronnie would be a perfect fit. So He decided it was time for Ronnie to return home to join his father, Henry, his grandmother, Madea, and his baby sister, Renee.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Henry King Hill; his grandmother, Zula Mary Baldwin; and his sister, Velma Renee Brown.

Ronnie leaves to cherish his memoires: his mother, Velma (Sammie) Williams of Vicksburg, Mississippi; three sisters, Theresa Baldwin of Chicago, Illinois, Rosella (Morris) Shepherd of Texas and Debra Hill Clark of Jackson, Mississippi; one brother, Henry (Frances) Hill of Vicksburg, Mississippi; one aunt, Mary Alice (Tommie) Albert; life-long companion, Susan Conova; three children that he helped rear, Denise Conova, Jude Conova and Bianca Conova, all of New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

On March 10, 2016, Cheryl LaGale Williams Cooper was called home to be with the Lord. She was born icon to the blessed union of Charlie Williams (late) and Virgie Williams on April 15, 1959 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age.

Cheryl attended Vicksburg Public Schools and continued her education through numerous medical certifications. Over the years she worked for GNC Education Services and Falmouth Elementary School. She also served as a mentor and a life coach to many. She was a Godly woman who loved the Lord and shared her heart with many as she prepared for her journey home. She provided joy and happiness to friends, relatives and everyone she met throughout her life. If words could describe her, she was: a loving, stunning, amazing, unbelievable, happy lady with a touch of class and an anointed spirit. Her family was very important to her and she loved them unconditionally.

She leaves to celebrate her life: her mother Virgie Williams; five sisters, Mariette Moore (Benjamin), Bertha Mixon (Jimmy), Virgie Hearron, Charlie Jean Walker, and Elma Williams-Coleman (Carroll); two brothers, Leon Williams and Darfeis Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews in Vicksburg, MS, Thornburg and Norfolk, VA, Indianapolis, IN, Memphis, TN, Newark and Wilmington, DE and Tallulah, LA. She also leaves her wonderful friends who made her laugh with pure joy: Lisa Bonds, Joe Cooper, Della Holmes, Sam Jones, Kymberly Chambers, Deborah Hall, Mae Trisby, Sophieas Jordan, Precilla Berry, Essie Edwards, and Claunise Petit.

Janie Elizabeth Sims Jackson was born icon on August 11, 1953 to the late Elizabeth M. Sims and Richard Wilkinson.

A TIME TO LIVE

Janie attended the Natchez Public School System and was a member of the class of 1971. She was baptized at an early age and joined Greater Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Natchez, MS. During her early adult years, she relocated to Vicksburg, MS and worked various jobs: Monsour’s Restaurant, Maxwell’s Restaurant, Shift Supervisor at the Vicksburg Country Club, Holiday Inn Hotel, Rainbow Casino and Hotel, and Isle of Capri (Diamond Jacks) Casino and Hotel where she served as Slot Supervisor. She met and married icon James Jackson and served as a wonderful mother to his three children: Kevin Jerrod Wilson and Caleb Royal both of Vicksburg, MS and Demetres Ruffin of New Orleans, LA. In her later years, Janie joined Triumph Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dexter Jones where she served as a faithful member until her death.

A TIME TO DIE

A wonderful, loving, and spirit-filled life came to a close on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Merit River Oaks Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She bade this world farewell and entered into her new “Heavenly Home.”

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Sims and Richard Wilkinson; maternal grandparents, Brandon and Rachael Sims; one sister, Janice Deborah Sims Johnson; aunts, Leola Sims, Rosie Sims Bodley, and Bertha White Harris; one niece, Carmen T. Sims Jefferson; cousins Jessie Greene and Henry Clifford Harris; and one great-niece, Janice Ashlee-Faith Carter. She leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, James Jackson; three stepchildren: Kevin Jerrod Wilson and Caleb Royal, both of Vicksburg, MS, Thelma S. (Donnell) Newsome of Natchez, MS, and Jacqueline D. Sims of Milwaukee, WI; two sisters-in-law, Renata Drake (William) of Athens, AL and Evelyn Hall of Vicksburg, MS; one brother-in-law, Franklin Jackson of Vicksburg, MS; seven grandchildren; one uncle, Charles Sims of Gulfport, MS; a special goddaughter, LaTarsha Smith of Vicksburg, MS; six nieces, Almetia Simmons, Sylvia (Ronald) Tucker, Nequita (Vincent) Carter, Vera Sims, Angela Sims, and Tiffany Johnson; four nephews, Kelvin (Tamila) Taylor, Sr., Anthony Sims, Torrance (Dawn) Carter, and Freddie Johnson; a very special friend, Jackie Dart-Lewis; and a host of other relatives, church family and friends.
