Pricilla "Pat" Cunningham Austin, 63, of Escatawpa, Miss., died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at her home. Mrs. Austin was born icon September 27, 1939, in Jackson. She was of the Assembly of God faith. Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her father, Morris E. Cunningham; son, James Craig Ball; daughter, Tina Marie Ball; sister, Francis Thibodeaux; and a brother, William C. Cunningham.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Dean Austin of Escatawpa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Bobby Richardson of Hephizabah, Ga., Nelda and Kenny Vinson of Picayune; three sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Darlinda Ball of Tennessee, Oneal and Lois Ball of Agricola, and Jeffery and Patti Ball of Agricola, step-son, Ricky Dean Austin of Jackson; her mother, Minerva C. Cunningham of Lucedale; brother, Edward E. Cunningham of Lucedale; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Cynthia and Emery Bernard of Arnaudville, La., Martha and Craig Sylvera of New Orleans, La., Dorothy Holder of Lucedale, and Addis and Charlie Weaver of Lucedale; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation is Wednesday, Dec. 18, 6-9 p.m., at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral services are Thursday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m., from Eastside Assembly of God Church in Moss Point with the Rev. Wendell Stork officiating. There will be a one hour visitation in the church prior to service time.
Interment will follow in Serene Memorial Gardens, Escatawpa.

LYONS
Arlene Vice Lyons, 45, of Helena, died Tues., Dec. 17, 2002, in Helena.
She was born icon Nov. 28, 1957, in Moss Point, and remained a lifelong resident of the Helena community. She was a member of Helena Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Ann Vice Smith and Dorothy Aliece "Doodle" Vice.
She is survived by her parents, Ollie and Doris Pierce Vice, Helena; brothers, Buck (Jean) Vice, Helena, Johnny (Callie) Vice, Helena, Morris (Ollie) Vice, Lucedale, Jimmy (Diane) Vice, Helena; sisters, Nita Goff, Helena, Jo Ann Mooty, Helena, twin sister, Darlene (Eddie) McIlwain, Mobile, Ala., and Stacy Berman, Helena; companion, Millard Montieth, Helena; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. Arlene brought happiness to all those she met. She will be missed by everyone.
Visitation is Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, from 6-9 p.m., at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
The funeral service is 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 19, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joey Turman, Rev James Lyle and Rev. David Storment officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery in Helena.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

PIERCE
Mr. Lloyd Pierce, 85, of Helena, Miss., died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, in Helena. Mr. Pierce was born icon Jan. 28, 1917, in Orange Grove, Miss., and had been a lifelong resident of Helena.
He was a retired maintenance electrician for Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a member of Helena Presbyterian Church, a lifetime member of the Pascagoula Elks Lodge # 1120, an avid wood craftsman and Arthur Murray dancer. He also served as a past King for the Krewe of Tri-cities.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Vice Pierce.
Survivors include: one son, A. E. "Peter" (Grace) Pierce; , one daughter, Mary (Ronnie) Carpenter; one stepson, Louis (Ruth) Vice; one sister, Doris (Ollie) Vice, all of Helena; 10 grandchildren, Billy (Edna) Carpenter, Teresa (Rev. Gene) Emswiler, Robin (Bob) Poppenhouse, Danny (Pam) Pierce, Tim (Charlene) Carpenter, Gary Bartlett, Greg (Patricia) Vice, Mark (Becky) Vice, Ben (Teresa) Vice, Amanda Furby; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation and service will be held at Jackson County Funeral Services in Escatawpa, on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m.-12 noon, with funeral service at 12 noon, with the Rev. David Storment and the Rev. Gene Emswiler officiating.
Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery in Helena.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

PITTS
Auten Ray Pitts, 65, of Pascagoula, Miss., born icon March 30, 1937, in Richton, Miss., died Dec. 12, 2002, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Mr. Pitts was an Army veteran and a machinist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Pitts; father, Thomas William Pitts and mother, Temperance Edwards.
Survivors include his son, Teddy Ray Pitts, Carthage, Miss.; stepson, Lester Earl Hinton, Section, Ala.; son, Arthur Ray Pitts, Pascagoula, Miss.; daughter, Wanda Gail Shepherd, Mt. Vernon, Ohio; daughter, Juanita Kay Walden, Everett, Wash.; brother, Henry G. Pitts, Waynesboro, Miss.; brother, Robert E. Pitts, Laurel, Miss.; sister, Mary Brewer, Pascagoula; sister, Rachel Finley, Richton, Miss.; sister, Jewel Cooley, Pascagoula; and 16 grandchildren.
Visitation was at Freeman Parlor, on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services were held from Freeman Chapel on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. John Mozingo and Mr. Charles Busby officiating.
Burial took place on Dec. 15, in the Maynor Creek cemetery.

PRICE
Mr. Vander Price, 70, a lifelong resident of Prentiss, Miss., died Thursday night, Dec. 12, 2002, in Moss Point, Miss.
Mr. Price was the son of the late Smith Price and Ethel Price Keys.
His survivors are his wife, Clara; four children, Avis (Posey) Nichols, Goldsmith (Lee Nettie) Price, Johnnie Price and Billie Ray (Rev. Victoria) Price; four sisters, Jonah M. Riley, Easter Martin, Joanner Price and Ruthia Fairley; five brothers, James Price, L. C. (Lillian) Price, Fred Price, Sr., Willie (Israel) Price and Sammie Lee (Carolyn) Price; three grandchildren, Claretha Nichols, Adrian Price and Priscilla Price; one great-grandchild, Morgan Price; mother-in-law, Mrs. Avis Johnson; sister-in-law, Lola Yarbrough; brother-in-law, L. C. Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Arrangements are by Laird Funeral Home in Prentiss, Miss. and tentatively planned for Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Blackmon Temple Church in Carson, Miss.

WILLIAMS
Mr. Emmett Louis "Shorty" Williams, 67, born icon June 19, 1935, in Coden, Ala., died Dec. 13, 2002, in a local Mobile, Ala., hospital. Mr. Williams was a retired carpenter of Ingalls and a Flea Market owner.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Williams; daughter, Connie and one grandchild, all of Grand Bay, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Martha Williams.
Mr. Williams had resided in Pascagoula for 35 years, and was residing in Grand Bay, Ala., at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Jimmie "Lee" Williams. Survivors include his children, Linda K. Neuman, Pascagoula, Gordon R. (Susan) Belongia, Chesapeake, Va., Mary J. (Randy) McCollough, St. Elmo, Ala.; grandchildren, Marsha Lawson, Alisa (Steven) Jordan, Edward (Kim) Neuman, Jr., all of Pascagoula, Krista (Charles) Raynor, Chesapeake, Va., Joey (Teresa) McCollough, Grand Bay, Ala.; seven sisters, Sissy (Paul) Seward, Henrietta Dewitt, Betty (William) Ladnier, all of Coden, Laura (Mannie) Schambeau, Irvington, Emma (Leo) Seward, Bayou La Batre, Lucy (Clyde) Peffer, Grand Bay, and Diane (Johnny) Collier, Coden; two brothers, Tommy (Anita) Williams and Ralph (Mary) Williams, both of Coden; four grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held from the Coden Assembly of God on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 12 noon.
Visitation will start at 10 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be in Oddfellow cemetery.

BOYCE
Rev. Thomas M. Boyce, 61, a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Jackson, Miss., died of a heart attack Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, in Houma, La.
He is survived by first cousins, Mary Katherine Brannon of Grand Bay, Ala., Grant Jones of Pascagoula, Miss., Louis P. Jones Jr. of Grand Bay and Jimmy King of Pascagoula.
Father Boyce was born icon on Jan. 22, 1941, in Pascagoula. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Natchez-Jackson on May 28, 1966, at Our Lady of Victories Church in Pascagoula.
Arrangements are handled by Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson.
He served the diocese as an assistant pastor at St. Alphonsus in Ocean Springs, Miss., until April 1970 when he became the Temporary Administrator until September of 1970. At that time he left Mississippi to serve the Unites States as a chaplain in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
In October of 1973 he returned to serve the diocese again as an associate pastor at St. Peter Co-Cathedral in Jackson. During this time he also served as the Diocesan Coordinator for Campus Ministry. In June of 1974 he was appointed to serve as Director of Vocations. In August of 1977 he was appointed pastor of St. Michael parish in Vicksburg, Miss.
He served there until September 1980 when he was named pastor of All Saints parish in Belzoni, Miss.
He was appointed pastor of St. Jude parish in Pearl, Miss., in January 1983. In January 1993 he was appointed to serve as pastor of St. Mary in Batesville, Miss., and its mission, St. John the Baptist in Sardis, Miss.
Visitation will be at St. Peter the Apostle Cathedral on Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, from 5-7 p.m. followed by a wake service.
The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at the cathedral. There will be a graveside service with burial on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at 10 a.m. in Greenwood cemetery in Pascagoula.
Memorials may be made to the Catholic Diocese of Jackson Foundation Trust for the Education of Future Priests.

LOPEZ
Mrs. Emma (Sister) Lopez, 94, of Escatawpa, Miss., died at the Plaza Nursing Center in Pascagoula, Miss., on Fri, Dec. 13, 2002. She was born icon Oct. 18, 1908, in Escatawpa where she lived all of her life. She was a homemaker and member of Escatawpa Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Angel Lopez; a son, Winston Lopez, and a grandson, Jacob Broadus.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley (Clyde) Broadus of Hurley, Miss., and Margie (Gene) Dale of Escatawpa; four grandsons, Mike (Shirley) Dale of Pascagoula, Steve (Nita) Dale of Escatawpa, Gary Dale of Escatawpa and Nathan Dale of Escatawpa; five great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, from 12-2 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be in Robinson cemetery in Escatawpa.

MCDOUGLE
Mr. Walter McDougle
On Wednesday evening, Dec. 11, 2002, Brother Walter McDougle departed this life at Singing River Hospital, Pascagoula, Miss. Brother McDougle was born icon July 17, 1935, in Union, Miss. He was a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for many years. Brother McDougle was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, and he was retired from Longshoreman Local #1752.
Brother Walter McDougle was preceded in death by his wife, Lula McDougle; parents, John and Mattie McDougle; a brother, Alton McDougle; and a sister, Lucille McDougle.
He leaves to cherish his memories to a fiancee, Madie Lett of Moss Point; two sons, Johnny and Chauncey; one daughter, Michelle; two sisters, Emma (Hubert) Kidd of Chicago, Ill., and Fannie Mae McDougle of Union, Miss.; four brothers, Albert McDougle, Artis D. McDougle, Charles Ray McDougle, all of Union, Miss., and Johnnie (Virginia) McDougle of Moss Point, Miss.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held from noon-1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Grierson St., Moss Point.
Funeral service will begin promptly at 1 p.m. from the church.
Interment will be in First Baptist Church, Escatawpa, Miss.
All arrangements entrusted to Millender's Funeral Home, Moss Point, Miss.
