HAUGHAWOUT
Mr. Peter F. Haughawout, 58, of Vancleave, Miss., died Saturday, March 11, 2006, in Mobile, Ala.
Mr. Haughawout was a native of Ohio and had been a resident of the Coast for the past 26 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam with 15 years of service. Mr. Haughawout was a priesthood member, holding the office of teacher at the Vancleave Community of Christ Church. He had been employed with Northrop Grumman for the past 26 years as a computer programmer.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Haughawout, and his father, Thurman I. Haughawout.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Janet Haughawout; two daughters, Pamela Haughawout of Birmingham, Ala. and Hope Haughawout of Vancleave; his mother, Margaret Haughawout, of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and three brothers, Michael Haughawout of Fort Worth, Texas, Robert Haughawout of Wichita, Kan., and David Haughawout of Albuquerque, N.M.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Vancleave Community of Christ Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Community of Christ Church, 12205 Mt. Pleasant Road, Vancleave, Miss. 39565.

PLUNK
Retired USAF Major Henry Porter Plunk, age 83, of Vancleave, Miss., died Monday, March 13, 2006, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Plunk was a resident of the Coast since 1967. He served during WWII as a fighter pilot in the European Theater. He later retired from civil service at the Naval base in Gulfport. He was a member of the Great Southern Club Golf Club and was an avid golfer. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Mr. Plunk was preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Myrtle Barber Plunk, and a sister, Janis Plunk Paul.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Dees Plunk of Vancleave, Miss.; two daughters, Betty McCarroll of Long Beach, Miss., and Oney (Joel) Reynolds of San Antonio, Texas; son, Daryl Plunk of Alexandria, Va.; three sisters, Bernice Banks of Canton, Ga., Helen Summers of Selmer, Tenn., and Barbara Robinson of Bethel Springs, Tenn.; two brothers, Dr. Leonard Plunk of Athens, Ala., and William G. Plunk of Satellite Beach, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Samuel Porter McCarroll, Mollie McCarroll, Amy Plunk, Ian Plunk, Chase Reynolds and Taylor Reynolds.
Private services will be held at a later date.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MR. WILLIE GAVIN McLEOD, 82, of Lucedale, Miss., died March 10, 2006. Freeman Funeral Home, Leakesville, Miss. MRS. ONA MAE MATHIS, 74, of Vinegar Bend, Ala., died March 12, 2006. Freeman Funeral Home, Leakesville, Miss.

BAKKER
Adolph Robert "Bob" Bakker, age 79, of Newport, Tenn., passed away, Sunday, March 12, 2006, at his home.
He was a member of Howard Hawk Church
He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force, during the WWII Pacific Theater, also the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant. He was a lieutenant with the Jackson County Sheriffs Department and Assistant Police Chief of Ocean Springs, Miss. He loved softball, and loved to buy sell and restore antique cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aldert and Maria Bakker; sons, Mark Kerry Bakker and Christopher Allen Bakker; and a brother, John Bakker.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wieck Bakker of Newport; son and daughter-in-law, Terry R. and Katie Bakker of Vancleave, Miss; daughter, Linda Bakker Netherland and husband Dr. Dan Netherland of Newport, Tenn.; sister, Betty Poznikoff of Indiana; grandchildren, Derek and Andrea Bakker of Vancleave, Chad Netherland of Duluth, Minn, April and Chris Mallette of Vancleave, Heidi and Scott Murphy of Newport, Tenn., Damon and Amber Patrick of Petal, Miss., Kristil and Chris Allen of Sevierville, Tenn., Heather Bakker of Vancleave, and Cameron Netherland of Newport, Tenn.; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Dan Netherland officiating.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2006, in Bryant cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral at Manes Funeral Home.

COX
Mr. Madison George "Matt" Cox, age 82, of Ocean Springs, Miss.., passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Herman Memorial Hospital in The Woodlands, Texas.
Mr. Cox was born icon on Dec. 14, 1923, on Point Cadet, in Biloxi, Miss. He graduated from Biloxi High School and married icon his wife of 63 years, Annette, in 1943, and they made their home in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Cox retired from a lifetime career in law enforcement in 1985. During his career, he served as Chief Deputy Sheriff of Jackson County for several years and Chief of Police of Ocean Springs for nine years. He also served as Alderman of Ward 2 in Ocean Springs from 1981-1985.
Mr. Cox's life was devoted to service to others. He was honored throughout his life with numerous awards that included, Distinguished Service Award by the United States Jaycees in 1958, Outstanding Young Man of the Year by the Ocean Springs Jaycees in 1959, Ocean Springs Jaycees Boss of the Year in 1974, President of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association in 1979-1980, and Vice President of the Missisippi Association of Chiefs of Police in 1975. He was a member of the Ocean Springs Masonic Lodge #424, the Mississippi Scottish Rite and the Mississippi Shriners Association. He was also active in the Merry Makers Club of Ocean Springs and reigned as King.
Mr. Coxs' greatest source of pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his wife, Annette; two daughters, Jo Ann Crimm and husband, Harlon, and Gay Crosby and husband, Mickey; a son, Dean Cox and wife, Glenda; grandchildren, Jeff Crimm and wife, Kristi, Sherry Cousins and husband, Bill, Dean Cox Jr. and wife, Heather, Ashley Estapa and husband, Chris, Haley Crosby and Tate Crosby; and four great-grandchildren, Madison, Hannah, Eli and Samantha.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Wednesday, March 15, 2006, there will be a 10 a.m. church service at the First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, where friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Burial will follow in Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi.

DuBOSE
Mr. Armade Rashawde DuBose, 30, of 1901 Martin Bluff Road, Gautier, Miss., departed this life Thursday, March 9, 2006. He was born icon Dec. 21, 1975, in St. Louis, Mo. He moved to the community of Three Rivers, Miss. at the tender age of 3. He was a graduate of East Central High School Class of 1995. Armade was an employee of Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding for the last eight years, where he was a first class welder.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nathan Simmons Sr. and Mamie Johnson Simmons, and fraternal grandparents, James DuBose Sr. and Festonia Thompson DuBose.
Armade leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Kathleen Rochelle Wells-DuBose; four daughters, Ciara Charnae DuBose, Felicity Ajai DuBose of Grand Bay, Ala., Robyn Bright and Brittney Bright of Gautier, Miss.; one son, Brandon Bright of Gautier; a mother, Rosemary D. (Donald) McCovery of Three Rivers; a father, James M. (Laverne) DuBose Jr. of Riverside, Calif.; a grandmother, Ruby DuBose of Moss Point; seven sisters, Denean (Donald) Thomas, St. Rose, La., Denise Bridges, Three Rivers, Jeneane DuBose, Adrienne DuBose of Dallas, Texas, Angela Harrison, Atlanta, Ga., Ashley DuBose of Tacoma, Wash., and Simone DuBose of Riverside, Calif.; three brothers, Nathan DuBose, Three Rivers, Michael Washington, Crockett, Texas, Orenthal J. Sanders, Memphis, Tenn.; a devoted nephew, Markeith (Peanut) Elly of Three Rivers; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Davis Chapel United Methodist Church, Three Rivers Community, Miss.
Funeral Service will begin promptly at 1 p.m. at the church.
Interment will be in Davis Chapel cemetery, Three Rivers.
All Arrangements Entrusted to Millender's Funeral Home, Moss Point.

HEATHCOE
Mrs. Norma "Jeannie" Heathcoe, age 59, a near lifelong resident of Pascagoula, Miss., entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, March 11, 2006. She was born icon in Niceville, Fla., on March 30, 1946.
Mrs. Heathcoe was preceded in death by her father and grandmother.
She is survived by her mother, Marleigh Pierce of Escatawpa, Miss.; three children, Tina Sellers (Jeff) O'Brien of Jacksonville, Fla., Andrew "Andy" (Jasmine) Sellers Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, Angel Heathcoe (Kevin) Padgett of Franklin Creek; five grandchildren, Jeffrey O'Brien II of Jacksonville, Fla., Nicole, Robert, Dakota Sellers of Fort Worth, Texas, Ander Padgett of Franklin Creek; three sisters, Geraldine "Jerri" (Norman) Wilson, Patty Powell, both of Pascagoula, Miss., Lula Fortenberry of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one brother, Royce Willingham Jr. of Crestview, Fla.; loving boyfriend, Jimmy White of Hurley; special friends, Gary and Gloria Alexander of Pascagoula, Miss.; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Shane Terrebonne officiating.
Interment will be at Serenity Gardens cemetery in Theodore, Ala.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made for the benefit of Jeannie Heathcoe to any Hancock Bank location.

SKIPPER
CARLTON LEE SKIPPER, 74, born icon July 17, 1931, in Miss., died March 7, 2006, in Waynesboro, Miss. Mr. Skipper was an Army Air Corp veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, John Tally Skipper, and mother, Neola Jordon.
Survivors include his son, Darrell Wayne Skipper, Baton Rouge, La.; brothers, Wayne Skipper, Gautier, Miss. and Stanley Skipper, Pascagoula, Miss.; sisters, Vonceil LeBlanc, Chula Vista, Calif. and Debra Carol Skipper, Waynesboro, Miss.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Freeman Parlor.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Lewis Chapel cemetery.
Burial will take place March 15, 2006 in the Lewis Chapel cemetery.

BERTRAM
William Carl "Billy" Bertram left this life for a better one on March 11, 2006. Billy was born icon Feb. 1, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Henrietta Bertram, his in-laws, Duncan and Ruby Goff, and one brother, Lewis Ashley Bertram. He was a member of the Safe Harbor United Methodist Church of Escatawpa and a lifelong resident of Jackson County.
Billy served in the National Guard. He was a graduate of the Ingalls Apprentice Program and worked there as a machinist for 21 years. From there he became a maintenance employee at Chevron Refinery in Pascagoula where he worked for 20 years. Billy retired in 1999 and devoted his time to pruning trees, feeding stray dogs, and watching old movies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, making gumbo, and working puzzles (crossword and jigsaw). He loved to visit with friends and often went to see his friends who lived on the river to share a cup of coffee and stories about fishing. He was an accomplished guitar and harmonica player and a great husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Left behind to remember his love of 43 years, Geri Bertram; a sister and brother-in law, Carol and Buddy Holmes; and a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Josephine Ber-tram. He raised three children to understand the importance of hard work and always keeping your word. They are left behind to cherish his memory: Daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Brian Montgomery; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Paul Broome; and son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Leslie Bertram. He was "Poppa" to five precious grandchildren: Torin Eure, Jeryn Montgomery, Eric Broome, Logan Broome and Braden Bertram. He was a beloved friend to his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Duncan and Sue Goff; a sister-in-law, Rev. Dayna Goff; and brother-in-law, Darren Goff. Billy also leaves cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends who are better people for having known him.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 13, 2006, at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, Miss.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 14, 2006, from the funeral home chapel beginning at 10 a.m., with Rev. Dayna Goff, Rev. John Tucker and Rev. Gene Vance officiating.
Burial will follow in Serene Memorial cemetery in Escatawpa, Miss.
Pallbearers will be James "Buck" McCrary, Michael Pait, Dowe Oliver, Don Stringer, Billy Joe Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Ben Larson, Robert Ellis and Ranny Graham.

HARRIS
Mr. Jesse Samuel Harris, age 73, of Jackson County, Miss., died Saturday, March 11, 2006, in Pascagoula. Mr. Harris was born icon on July 23, 1932, in Bayou Casotte. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong commercial fisherman and loved to catch fish, shrimp and oysters. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Nora Martin Harris; one son, Michael Samuel Harris; and two sisters, Joyce and Nora.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ida Mae Stork Harris; six children, Karen (Bert) Harris Lynn and their daughter, Jessica, of Nicho-lasville, Ky., Mack (Gwen) Sprinkle, Steve (Mary Lee) Sprinkle, Gregory (Annie) Sprinkle, David (Vicki) Sprinkle, Mattie Sprinkle Bosarge, all of Mobile County, Ala.; 19 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles (Louise) Harris of Orange Grove, Leroy (Ruth) Harris of Pascagoula, Miss., William (Mickie) Harris of Escatawpa, Miss.; special friends, Barbara Demouey, Joe Gerhardt and Tony Southern; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, March 13, 2006, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2006, from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Wendell Stork and Rev. M.L. McCor-mick Jr. officiating.
