Donald Rayborn Davis, 58, of East Wilkerson Ferry Road, Lucedale, Miss., born icon Aug. 23, 1946, in George Co., Miss., passed away Nov. 21, 2004. Mr. Davis was a burner at Ingalls Shipyard and of the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Eva Davis; sister, Mary Jane Miller; and brother, Dick Davis.
Survivors include one daughter, Eva (Jason) Blue, Semmes, Ala.; one son, Donald Keith Davis, Lucedale, Miss.; three grandchildren, Kristin, Lynnsey and Lauren Blue, Semmes, Ala.; one sister, Virginia (Hartsel) McCowan, Escatawpa, Miss.; one brother, D. L. (Mary Lou) Davis, Pascagoula, Miss.; former wife, Gean Davis, Lucedale, Miss.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at George County Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in the Chapel of George County Funeral Home with William Mills and J.B. Davis officiating.
Interment will be at Calvary Miss. Baptist Church cemetery (Old Hwy. 26, Lucedale).

TERRELL
Mary Shirlene "Cissie" Slater Terrell, 47, of Pascagoula, Miss., formerly of Theodore and Mobile, Ala., passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004. She was born icon in Kosciusko, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Slater.
She is survived by her sons, Anthony and Jessica Terrell of Theodore, Ala., and Curtis Terrell of Cincinnati, Ohio; one grandson, Ashton Terrell, also of Theodore, Ala.; brothers, H.W. Slater, III of Glen Cove, N.Y., Glen and Phyllis Slater of Douglasville, Ga., Jackie Slater of Pascagoula, Kim Slater of Hurley, Miss.; sisters, Valerie and Archie Doby of Crossville, Tenn., Robin and Tommy Knopt of Gautier, Miss., Regina "Boo" and Larry Hunnings of Pascagoula; a cousin, Dan Stutz of Oregon; her father, H. W. Slater Jr., and mom, Maurine of Gautier.
She had worked in the service industry from Mobile to Biloxi-Gulfport. She had been a previous student at USA in Mobile and had plans to continue her education.
The Visitation/Memorial Service will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in the O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home Parlor, with prayers to follow.

SLATER
Elizabeth Louise Stutz Slater, 77, of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at her home. She was born icon in Wilmerding, Pa.
She was preceded in death her daughter, Mary Shirlene "Cissie" Terrell; her mother, Clara Graham and father Albert Stutz; brothers, Jack, Victor and George Stutz.
She leaves behind sons, H.W. Slater III of Glen Cove, N.Y., Glen and Phyllis Slater of Douglasville, Ga., Jackie Slater of Pascagoula, Miss., and Kim Slater of Hurley, Miss.; daughters, Valerie and Archie Doby of Crossville, Tenn., Robin and Tommy Knopt of Gautier, Miss., Regina "Boo" and Larry Hunnings of Pascagoula; a nephew, Dan Stutz of Oregon; former husband, H.W. Slater Jr. and "wife-in-law" Maurine of Gautier; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Her professional life included Jackson County Civic Action Committee, where she wrote the program for the 11th Street Mental Retardation Center. She also implemented the first Meals on Wheels for Jackson County. Mrs. Slater was a member of Beta Epsilon Sorority and while there she was actively involved with the mentally and physically handicapped. She was a collector at NACO for many years and worked in outside collections, once she retired. She was loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
A Visitation/Memorial Service will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in the O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home Parlor, with prayers to follow.

GOMEZ
Mrs. Margaret Ellen Gomez, 62, of Gautier, Miss., died Nov. 21, 2004, in Mobile, Ala. She was born icon Aug. 16, 1942, in Ashland, Ky. Mrs. Gomez served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam veteran. She was a homemaker and of Presbyterian faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Edra Fowler.
Survivors include her husband, Carlos Gomez of Gautier, Miss.; daughter, Charlotte Annette Gomez Dethloff of Houston, Texas; sons, Carlos Gomez Jr. and Salvador Franklin Gomez, both of Mobile, Ala.; brothers, James E. Fowler of Asheboro, N.C., David Barker of Tampa, Fla.; sisters, Linda Cline of Greer, S.C., Glenna Fowler of Evansville, Ind.; six grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, in Biloxi National cemetery with Rev. Roy Schneider officiating.

AVELLANA
Juanita Avellana, 88, Moss Point, Miss., died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in Moss Point. She was born icon Jan. 20, 1916, in the Philippines and has been a resident of Moss Point for 25 years. She attended St. Peter's Catholic Church in Pascagoula.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norberto Avellana.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Leonora Hawkins and Wayne Hawkins, Moss Point; five grandchildren, Samuel and Angie Hawkins, Virginia Beach, Va., Erik Hawkins, Moss Point, Leonora and Anton Chavis, Gulfport, Miss., Randy and Shauna Hawkins, Maryland, Juanita Hawkins, Moss Point; five great-grandchildren, Alton Richardson, Katuraha Ainsworth, Rico Hawkins, Amber Hawkins, and Nykeria Hawkins.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2004, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.
The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Pallbearers will be Keith Barnes, Erik Hawkins, Anton Chavis, Sam Hawkins, Keswick Nettles and Michael McMillian.
Interment will be in Machpelah cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss.

WOODS
Prince Woods, 14, a native of Moss Point, Miss., died Nov. 18, 2004, in Pascagoula, Miss. Prince was born icon July 20, 1990, in Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula. He was of the Baptist faith and an eighth-grade student at Magnolia Junior High School.
Prince was preceded in death by an uncle, Eric Stevens, a grandfather, Orlando Woods Sr., a great-grandfather, Authur Stevens, and a great Aunt, Luxora Austin.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving, devoted parents, Ruben (Tawana) Steward I of Pascagoula; four brothers, Ruben Steward of Moss Point, Brandon Woods, Emanuel Eskridge, and Ruben Steward II, all of Pascagoula; three sisters, LaKisha Williams of Pascagoula, Canesia Booth of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Jasmine Steward of Moss Point; one niece, Kiara May of Pascagoula; two grandmothers, Ida Pearl Stevens, and Feannie Steward, both of Pascagoula; two grandfathers, Kessie Steward of Moss Point, and Robert Sullivan Sr. of Gautier, Miss.; a great-grandmother, Narie Stevens of Grand Bay, Ala.; seven aunts; nine uncles; a godmother; two god sisters; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Union Baptist Church in Pascagoula. Funeral services will be held promptly at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula.

JOLLIF
Lloyd C. Jolliff passed away on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall, Md. Mr. Jolliff was a native of West Plains, Mo., but a resident of Pascagoula from 1952 until 2004. His parents, W.R. and Ida Mae Jolliff of Pascagoula, Miss., three sisters and a brother preceded Mr. Joliff in death.
Mr. Jolliff was a 50-year member of the Prudence Lodge 100 in Columbus, Kan., a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Pascagoula. He was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church. After moving to Maryland, he attended Waters Memorial Methodist Church in Saint Leonard, Md.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mara Lee Rasberry Joliff, Port Republic, Md.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Dan Volonakis of Port Republic, Md., and one son grandson, Jimmy Volonakis of Lusby, Md. Also surviving Mr. Jolliff are three sisters, Mrs. Clyda Henbest of Columbus, Kan., Mrs. Vesta Thompson of West Plains, Mo., Mrs. Barbara Barham and her husband, Bennie of Champaign, Ill.; 13 nieces and nephews also survive him.
Services will be Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, Miss. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral service immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula, Miss.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: Hospice of St Mary's County, P. O. Box 625, Leonardtown, Md. 20650 or a charity of your choice.

WARREN
Mr. Reginald Butler Warren Jr., 33, of Vancleave, Miss., died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in Vancleave. Mr. Warren died after a long battle with cancer. He was a longtime resident of Vancleave, a general contractor with RBW Construction, and a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Vancleave.
Mr. Warren is survived by his parents, Reggie Sr. and Cathy Warren of Vancleave; a son, Reggie Butler Warren III; sister, Christy Warren; two brothers, Jason Gilbert Warren and wife, Sheila, and Scott Michael Warren, all of Vancleave; nephew, Brayden Tyler Warren; niece, Amber Warren; and three step-nieces, Meagan, Celena and Olivia; numerous aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, with 7 p.m. Rosary at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
On Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, there will be an 11 a.m. Mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Vancleave, where friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m.
Burial will be in the Vancleave cemetery.
The family wishes to thank NIH in Bethesda, Md., and The Hospice of Light.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

BOND
Dr. Andrew J. Bond Sr., 73, of Florence, Ala., died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, in a car accident on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Northeast Mississippi.
Andy was born icon in Wiggins, Miss., on Dec. 17, 1930, and lived his childhood in Wiggins, Ocean Springs, and Gautier, Miss.
Andy proudly served in the U.S. Navy for seven years after graduating from Perkinston Prep School in Perkinston, Miss. He later attended Perkinston Junior College and Mississippi State University, graduating from MSU with a bachelor's degree in 1960 and master's degree in 1962. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in psychology and counseling.
While in college at Mississippi State, Andy was editor of the Reveille and a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. In Starkville, he became MSU's first student recruiter and later served as financial aid director and finally as dean of students before his 10-year stint as dean of students at Valdosta State College, Valdosta, Ga.
For four years, in the early 1980s, he worked in private industry in Greenwood and Slaughter, Miss. He returned to student affairs at the University of Georgia in Athens and served as assistant director of placement at UGA until his retirement in 2001.
He then enjoyed three and a half years of retirement in Florence, Ala., where he was a member of First United Methodist Church of Florence. Andy was a Master Mason and a member of the Ezel Lodge #426 of Vancleave, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Andrew Bond, and an older brother, Gerald.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Mr. and Mrs. John (Maribeth) Bond of Starkville, Miss., and Mr. and Mrs. Tim (Kim) Bond of Pearland, Texas; daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mel (Andrea) Booker of Florence, Ala.; two brothers, Earl Keith Bond of Vancleave, Miss., and Cleve Bond Sr. of Gautier, Miss.; grandchildren: Blair, Erin, Hannah and Bo Booker of Florence, Ala., Andrew Bond of Starkville, Miss., Wesley Bond of Florence, S.C., Kayla, Mackinzee, Timothy, Truth, and Trinity Bond of Pearland, Texas.
Dr. Bond was a loving and generous son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was loved and adored and will be remembered for his constant acts of generosity and kindness.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gautier, Miss.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Red Hill Methodist Church with burial following in Red Hill cemetery, Vancleave, Miss.
O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home of Gautier is in charge of arrangements.
