Rose Mary Arceneaux, 77, of Biloxi died Saturday, January 5, 2008 in Gulfport.
Rose was born icon in Biloxi and remained a life long resident of Biloxi. She was of the Catholic faith.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Arceneaux, son, David Barras, sister, Rita Mae Seymour and brother, James "Boyd" Freche.
Survivors include, daughters, Delores Fayard of Biloxi, Barbara Fayard, of Biloxi, Deborah Hall of Houston, MS, Patricia Hagood of Columbus, MS and Lisa Dykes of Destin, FL, sons, Frank Barras, Jr. of Biloxi, Jerry Barras of Gulfport, Louis Barras of Pasadena, CA, Roland Barras of Gulfport, Robert Barras of D'Iberville, brother, Lester Freche of Biloxi, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The daughters would like to express a special thank you to Select Specialty Hospital and Canon Hospice Employees for the quality care provided for their mother.
Visitation is Tuesday, January 8, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. A procession will leave the Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. to Biloxi City cemetery for a 3:15 p.m. graveside service.

Howard E. Ackerman

Howard E. Ackerman, age 86, of Gulfport, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 in Gulfport. He was a native of Whitaker, PA and had been a resident of Gulfport since February 2006. He attended St. Matthews Luthern Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a corporal. He was a pattern maker for U.S. Steel for 20 years and then transferred to U.S. Steel Gary Works as a supervisor for 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lida Mae Ackerman.
He is survived by a son, Clarence Ackerman and his wife, Suzanne of Gulfport; a sister, Olive Carpenter of Toronto, OH; a brother, Donald Ackerman of Monroeville, PA; and two grandchildren, Michael Ackerman of Valparaiso, IN and Carey Ackerman of Minneapolis, MN.
The funeral service is Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until the service.

Robert L. Appel

Robert "Bob" Louis Appel, age 78, passed away on November 1, 2008 in Gulfport.
He was a native of New Orleans and moved to the Gulf Coast in 1991. He was a graduate of Alcee Fortier High School in New Orleans and the School of Engineering at Louisana State University. After graduation he was given his commission with the U.S. Army and he served for two years in Europe and six years in the active reserves attaining the rank of Captain. After serving his country he returned to New Orleans to begin his career with Sharp Electric, Inc. where he later became co-owner and President. A registered electrical engineer in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi, he engaged in commercial and industrial electrical contracting across the Gulf South for over forty years. He especially cherished the relationships he had with his long term clients such as Shell Oil, Amoco, Exxon, FNBC Bank, Stennis Space Center, and Keesler Air Force Base.
Mr. Appel was a member of Trinity Methodist Church as well as numerous civic, professional and social organizations including the Gulfport Gridiron Club, Gulfport Rotary Club, Gulfport Business Club, the Gulfport Yacht Club, the Jefferson Parish LSU Alumini Association, New Orleans Electrical Association, Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and the National Electrical Contractors Association. A Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International, he was also inducted into the Academy of Electrical Contracting in 1990. Mr. Appel was a Past Master and life member of Hiram Lodge #70 in New Orleans, a member of the Gulfport Scottish Rite Consistory, New Orleans Commanderie and Joppa Shrine Temple.
He is preceded in death by parents, Conrad H. Appel and Irma Martin Appel, two sisters Shirley Nichel and Irma Lee Appel, and brother Conrad H. Appel, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Kay J. Appel of Gulfport, his four children Steven Appel of Hot Springs , Arkansas; Kurt Appel (Claudia) and Eddie Appel (Julie) of Gulfport and Anna Lisa Latino (Steven) of Mandeville Louisiana; his grandchildren Meg Appel, Olivia Appel, Blake Appel, Morgan Appel, Melanie Appel, Madeline Appel, Steven Latino, Kay Lee Latino, and Christian Latino.
The family wishes to thank the staff of M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas, as well as Memorial Hospice and PDN both of Gulfport, for their compassionate care of Mr. Appel over the past several years. And a special thanks to PDN caregivers Patricia Wingo and Norlie Wardell for their care and friendship during the last year.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 5007 Lawson Ave, Gulfport, MS 39507, or to one's favorite charity in memory of Robert L. Appel.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 at Trinity United Methodist Church Law where friends may visit from 9:30 A.M. until the service. Entombment will follow in Floral Hill Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Arms-Berry

Mary "Kay" Berry, 51, of Ocean Springs, MS, died July 27, 2008 after a battle with cancer.
She was raised in Long Beach, then moved to Ocean Springs. Kay was a great person and lived life to the fullest.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob Arms and Angela Donohoe Fayard and her sister, Judy McClure.
Survivors include: daughter, Angela (Allen) Taylor, grandsons, Tyler and Dustin Taylor, granddaughter, Emma Lou Taylor, sister, Betty (Alan) Young, brother, Billy Arms, brother-in-law, Jeff McClure and her longtime companion, Scott Gamble. Kay is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.
There will be a Graveside Service, Thursday, July 31, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at Lemon Family cemetery, Lemon Rd., South of St. Martin High.
Arrangements made by Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes, Ocean Springs.

Mary Lou Steele Adcock, age 84, of Gulfport, died Thursday, February 7, 2008 in Gulfport. She was born icon in Alabama and was a life long resident of Gulfport.
She was a member of Gulf Gardens Baptist Church, Gulfport. She was former member of the VFW Auxiliary and a former secretary for Gulf Gardens Baptist Church.
Mrs. Adcock was preceded in death by her, husband, James B. Adcock; and a daughter, Linda Susan Adcock Smith; and her parents, David L. and Lottie Steele.
She is survived by four daughters, Pamela J. Raybourn (Robert), Donna J. Russell (Larry), Carol Ann McKay (Tommy), and Lori A. Guardia all of Gulfport; a step-brother, Clifton Adcox of New Orleans, five grandsons, Kevin B. Smith, Randy R. Smith, Caleb Guardia, Faron O'Neil and Jacob Daquioag; and three great-grandchildren, Carlyle Steele Smith, Rhet Davidson Smith, and Savannah Stuart Smith.
Visitation will be Monday, February 11, 2008 from 9 until 9:45 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. going to Evergreen cemetery for a graveside service at 10:00 a.m.
The family prefers memorials to Connected Heart Personal Care Home, 16116 Vick Road, Gulfport, MS 39503.

Lena Florence Adams

Lena Florence Spight Adams, 94, of Gulfport died Saturday, January 19, 2008 in Gulfport. Mrs. Adams was born icon in Ecru, MS and had been a resident of Gulfport for 68 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church Gulfport for 58 years, taught the First Grade Sunday School class for 30 years, and was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. Mrs. Adams attended MSCW and was a graduate of the University of Mississippi. She was the co-founder of Adams Flowers, Inc., Gulfport, and was active in the business until 2002. Mrs Adams was a member of the Gulfport Fine Arts Club, and a former member of the Gulfport Yacht Club, Junior Womens Club of Gulfport, Metropolitian Dinner Club, Merry Maskers Carnival Association, and the MS. Florist Association.
Mrs. Adams was a loving mother and grandmother and never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Clyde Gates Spight; her husband, William F. "Bill" Adams, Jr.; a son, William H. "Bert" Adams; and a daughter-in-law, Diana Shaw Adams.
Mrs. Adams is survived by a son, John S. "Johnny" Adams and his wife, Mary Katherine, of Pass Christian; a granddaughter, Melissa Harris Adams of Dallas, TX; a grandson, William Brent Adams and his wife, Diane of Gulfport; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Elizabeth Adams; and her devoted caregiver, Jackie Greene, of Saucier.
Mrs. Adams was very apprecative of her special friends at First Baptist Church, Gulfport.
Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5 until 7 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 10:30A.M. Tuesday in the Bradford-O'Keefe Chapel where friends may visit from 9:30 until 10:30. Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens. Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Gulfport Building Fund, 516 A Courthouse Road Gulfport, MS 39507.

T/Sgt. Norman Joseph Aucoin, USAF Retired

Tech. Sgt. Norman J. Aucoin, 79, of Biloxi, MS, died Friday, January 4, 2008, in Biloxi.
Norman was born icon June 8, 1928, in Athol, Massachusetts. He was raised Catholic in the Dorchester section of Boston and enlisted in the U. S. Navy. He served on the USS Leyte CV32 and the USS Sirago during the Korean Conflict. Later he joined the U. S. Air Force and retired from the military in 1969. He then held a U. S. Postal Service position and retired in 1989. Norman was a member of the USS Leyte CV32 Association, VFW and DAV.
Norman was preceded in death by his former wife, Irma Aucoin, and his parents, Thomas C. and Elida Gogden Aucoin. Survivors include his wife, Janet Aucoin of Biloxi; four daughters, Juanita McAdams of Jackson, MS, Burlyn Shoemake of Hattiesburg, MS, Wendy Boettcher of Texas, and Billie Jo Franklin of Biloxi; two sons, Richard Bookie of Illinois and Jeremy Franklin of Biloxi, and many grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Our Lady of Fatima St. Vincent de Paul Society, 314 Jim Money Road, Biloxi, MS 39531.

Orion Frederick Alley
born on Janury 6, 1927

Orion Frederick Alley, 80, went home to be with God on October 5, 2007. He was a loving son, husband, father, PawPaw and Great-PawPaw. His love of dancing and his laughter, smile and shine for life will be remembered not only by his family but by the many friends he made during his time on Earth.
Orion was the father to one daughter, Charmaine Harris, and three sons. He was the proud Paw Paw to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His wife, Virgie and his son, Rick, preceded him in death and were waiting to welcome him home.
Having resided in Texas since Hurricane Katrina, he is returning to Mississippi, the place he loved. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at 2 p.m at Blessed Seelos Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time. Internment will follow in Seymour cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved Mother, Amelia Alley.
Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
