Ocie C. "Andy" Anderson, 76, of McHenry, died Monday, April 26, 2010 in Biloxi. He was born icon in Laurel and was a resident of Biloxi for most of his life. He previously served in the U. S. Army in Japan. He was Baptist.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Estelle Anderson.
He is survived by a daughter, Darlene Hoover of Livingston, LA; two brothers, Milton Anderson (Karen) of Jackson, LA and James Anderson (Martha) of McHenry; a granddaughter, Danielle Hoover of Livingston; and a beloved cousin, Billie Coleman of Gulfport.
The graveside service will be Friday, April 30, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Biloxi National cemetery with military honors.
Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.

Joan Katherine "Katy" Parker Ahern, 67, of Biloxi, MS passed away Friday, January 22, 2010. Katy was born icon in Biloxi where she remained a lifelong resident. She was of the Catholic faith. She leaves a legacy of love and closeness. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her children and grandchildren. Katy's zest for life will continue on in them.
Katy is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Albert Patrick Ahern; parents, Curtis Paul Parker and Victoria Acevado Miller; brother, James W. Parker; sisters, Mary LeBlanc, Betty Lepoma, Audrey Fowler, Geraldine Haluluh and Anna Hurlbert.
She is survived by her sons, Albert P. Ahern, Jr., Shawn (Celine) Ahern; daughters, Rhondalyn Puzz Rogers, Jetty Lively, Joanie Ahern, Dixie (Red) Seymour; brothers, Raymond (Patricia) Parker, Milton M.H. Parker, Curtis "Bing" Parker; sisters, Delores Landry, Margaret (Johnnie) Simmons; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi.

Robert Edward` Atkins

Mr. Robert E. Atkins, 89, of D'Iberville, MS, died Saturday, December 26, 2009, in D'Iberville.
Mr. Atkins was born icon in Danville, VA and had been a resident of the coast since 1947. He was a U. S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WW II, and formerly employed with the Civilian Conservation Corps. He retired from A & P Grocery Store in Gulport. He was a member of the VFW in D'Iberville.
Mr. Atkins was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Wells Atkins. He is survived by his brother, Allen Atkins of Blairs, VA; close friend, Jessie Gaines; niece and caregiver, Renee Delahoussaye; many other nieces and nephews and his k-9 companion, Biscuit.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, where friends may visit from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.

Roberta "Granny" Asselin

Roberta "Granny" Asselin, 83, of Gulfport died Friday, April 22, 2005 in Hot Springs, AR. She was born icon in Springfield, MA and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since 1948. She was retired from Memorial Hospital at Gulfport and was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Leo Asselin.
She is survived by a daughter, Roberta Iversen of Gulfport; two granddaughters, April Dana- Rouse and Cherish Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Burgundy Skji Hanna, Joseph Steven Hanna, Alexander Lee Rouse, Emma Brooke Rouse, and Madalyn Alexis Smith.
Visitation will be Wednesday April 27, 2005 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The funeral service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.

Walter Murray Adams, Jr.

This past Sunday, Walter Murray Adams, Jr., a native of Macon, MS, passed away at home in Gulfport with his wife and family by his side. Walter was born icon January 7, 1931 to Walter Murray Adams and Henrietta "Polly" Holt Adams. Walter graduated from Macon High School in 1949, where he lettered in football. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi and was initiated into the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. Being the honorable man that he was, Walter enlisted into the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and served in a B-29 unit stationed at Kadena Air Force Base, Okinawa during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1955, and enrolled at Mississippi State University, where he graduated with a bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1958. A career at Mississippi Power Company followed and spanned thirty years. Walter was instrumental in restoration of services for the coastal counties of Mississippi following Hurricane Camille in 1969, and was involved in many high-voltage transmission projects in South Mississippi. He retired from Mississippi Power Company in 1988.
Walter and his family were members of the First United Methodist Church of Gulfport, where he taught Sunday school and was a member of the Stewardship Committee. He also served on the board of the Salvation Army, and was a member of the Civitans of Gulfport. Walter spent many years as a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club and was an active supporter of the Gulfport East High Football Booster Club in the 1970's.
Walter was known for many things, among those being a father, husband, and trusted friend. He was a great teacher of all things functional. He was also known for being an avid fisherman, hunter, and reader as well as for having an outstanding intellect and sharp wit. Walter entertained his family and friends with captivating story telling and practical advice.
Walter Murray Adams, Jr. was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter Murray Adams and Henrietta Holt Adams; his sister, Mary Adams Ketchum, his sister, Lucille Adams Taylor; and a grandson, H. Wayne Gray.
The loved ones who Walter left behind include his wife, Janice Adams of Gulfport; a sister, Katherine Elkin Crews of Memphis, TN; his children, Walter Murray Adams, III (Debby) of Metairie, LA, Catherine Eleanor Adams Gray of Gulfport, Boyce Elkin Adams (Donna) of Columbus, MS, Lawrence Rouse Adams of Gulfport; his step-children, Earl Mills of Albuquerque, NM, Wanda Noble of Gulfport, Joan Fowler (Ralph) of Gulfport, Janet Lee (Larry) of Gulfport, and Wesley Mills (Natalie) of Morganza, LA; twenty-one grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Walter will always be remembered for his service to his country and for being the individual that he was. He will be missed by his family and friends.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road in Gulfport where friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Biloxi National cemetery with military honors.

Dale Stephen Adams

Mr. Dale Stephen Adams, age 51, died at his home in Biloxi after a courageous battle with cancer.
Dale will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and generous friend who inspired each of us to strive to see the wonders of our world through new eyes. He did this with a wry sense of humor that those who were privileged to know him personally will never forget. He will be profoundly missed by those whose lives he touched, but he leaves behind the greatest gifts: a thirst for knowledge, the desire to understand and the wisdom to use our minds to better our world. Dale touched many lives with his winning smile, sparkling eyes and his ability to make people laugh. He will be deeply missed by family members, friends and co-workers that knew and loved him.
Dale worked for Pitalo's Body shop in Ocean Springs for 25 years and due to his employment he became lifelong friends with Johnny Pitalo. Dale then joined State Farm insurance where he was a claims adjuster for the past 10 years. He quickly became not only a valued employee, but part of a dedicated team and the State Farm family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Phyllis Adams and a brother Darrell Adams.
Dale is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Lisa (Robinson) Adams. Dale and Lisa were not only husband and wife but best friends. They were a unique couple who complimented and supported each other in all they did.
Dale is survived by his daughters, Allie Adams and Brooke Jordan, sisters, Dolores (Roger) McKenzie, Donna (Larry) Snell and one grandson, Miles Dominguez. Other family members left to cherish his memory are: Michael and Robin Robinson, Robert and Monica Robinson, Dallas and Julie Long, George and Shannon Hicks, Dori and Mike Gaither, Guy and Rita Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dawn Hansen, Tish, Nancy, Gloria and Ms. Margaret Dill with SAAD's Hospice Care, for the sincere, compassionate and loving care they gave during Dale's illness. Also, a very special thank you from the family to Michael and Robin Robinson for always being there and spending endless hours as care givers to their brother-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 24, 2008, at 12 noon at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi, where friends may visit from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Vancleave #1 cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Attention: Memorial/Honor Program FH, One St. Jude Place Building, Memphis, TN, 38148-0552.

CHATMAN
Vince Albert Chatman, Jr. was born icon to the late Vince Albert Chatman Sr. and Georgia Mae (William) Chatman on January 1, 1941. He departed this world on Saturday, April 7, 2007.
His departed loved ones are two brothers, Isodore Otis Hyde, Sr., Leonard Ray Chatman Sr.; parents Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Georgia Mae) Chatman Sr.
His loving memory will be held precious in the hearts of his remaining family members; sisters Beatrice (Walter) Jackson, Brenda (Herman) McCann Sr.; two aunts Mrs. Luventia Helton, Bishop Zacariah (Carrie) Moore; one uncle Henry Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 13, 2007 from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m at Robinson Friendly Funeral Home on Main Street in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at Ford cemetery, Moss Point, Miss and repast for the family will be held at the Archie Osborne Family Life Center at 3430 Macphelah Rd., Moss Point (Behind Restoration Revival Center Church of God In Christ).

POLK
The final chapter has been written and life's responsibilities have been finished, being weary of the burdens of life, Elizabeth Polk succumbed when a Glorified Messenger was sent with orders to release her from her weakened body. On April 8, 2007, she entered into her Father's house of many mansions where He has prepared a place for her.
Mrs. Elizabeth "Lizo" Polk was born icon in Pascagoula, Miss. on July 14, 1921 to the late Mrs. Pauline Petite. Mrs Polk was a faithful member of St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church, where she was a 69 year member of Our Lady of Lourdes Court #4, (Knights of Peter Claver), the Alter Society and St. Martin dePorres guild. She also attended St. Peter the Apostle School.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Pauline Petite, her husband Allen Polk, Sr., one brother Jesse Malone, a nephew and niece Charles Polk and Philicia Parker.
She leaves to cherish her memories; four devoted sons, Allen (Delores) Polk, Las Vegas, Nev., Edward (Shirley) Polk, La Place, La., Don (Eunetha) Polk, Gautier, Miss. and Rodney (Avonne), Moss Point, Miss, two devoted nieces Rose Lofton and Gloria Mosley; twelve grandchildren, Sharon Hicks, Cynthia McKeller, Fanita Polk-Reaves, Kendall Gibbs, Jannelle Polk Belyue, Crystal Johnson, Edward Polk II, Don Polk, Jr., Stephen Polk, Rodneeka Polk, Aigner Polk-Wiggins and Rodney Polk, Jr., two step-grandchildren Marion Knowles, and Tasha DuBose, eight great grandchildren, a devoted cousin, Dorothy Gates, and a devoted sister-in-law, Frances Malone, longtime devoted friends, Gladys Polk and Carrie Lee Perkins, family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 3702 Quinn Drive, Pascagoula, Miss.
Visitation will be held from 10 am-10:45 a.m with recitation of the Rosary at 10:45 a.m.
The Mass will be held at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at St. Peter's cemetery, Father Charles McMahon, SSI officiating.
Arrangements by Robinson Friendly Funeral Home, Moss Point.
