RUMBLEY
Mr. Roy Raburn Rumbley, 81, of Moss Point, Miss., died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007 in Pascagoula. He was born icon Nov. 26, 1925 in Repton (Conecuh County), Ala., and had been a resident of Moss Point since 1946. Mr. Rumbley enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943 at the age of 17. He served three years on the USS Indus in the Pacific Theatre during which time he fought in the Battle of the Leyte Gulf in the Philippine Islands. He was retired after 42 years of service as a machine operator from International Paper Company in Moss Point and attended First United Pentecostal Church of Pascagoula.
Mr. Rumbley was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. William Oscar and Mrs. Lucy Elizabeth Boulware Rumbley, four sisters, Nannie Cloe Bush, Eulene Rumbley, Ann Lou Byrd, Helen Cole and one brother, Robert Rumbley.
Mr. Rumbley is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Irene Rumbley of Moss Point, a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and John Lee of Warner Robins, Ga., two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy R. and JoAnn Rumbley of Birmingham, Ala., and Roderick and Michelle Rumbley of Madison; nine grandchildren, Chuck and Leslie Collum of Amboy, Wash., Jeffrey Lee of Warner Robins, Ga., Frank Kline of Moss Point, Danielle and Addison Rumbley of Madison and Gary and Kym Kline of Charleston, S.C., Maggie, AnnaLeigh, Lilly and Lucy Rumbley, and three great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Mason Collum, Cora Kline; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 from 6 until 9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Ramsey officiating.
Interment followed in Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula.

WOMACK
Mr. Murel Jefferson "Mickey" Womack, age 72, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at his home in Gautier, Miss. He was born icon Nov. 21, 1934, in Puckett, Miss. Mr. Womack was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with Brown & Root Construction. He was the owner of M & R Trailer Park in Moss Point for many years. Mr. Womack was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. James Arnold Womack and Mrs. Ella Mize Womack, several brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Ruby L. Womack of Gautier; sons, Jimmy and Mary Womack of Ark., Jeff Womack of Texas; daughters, Regina (Phil) Fortenberry of La. and Cindy Womack; daughter and caregiver, Alice (John) Douglas of Gautier; sons, Steven Newburn of Ala., Mack (MaryAnn) Newburn of Barton, Miss., Ronnie Newburn of Atmore, Ala.; grandchild and caregiver, Curtis (Ashley) Douglas; grandchildren, John (Brandy) Douglas, Joy Douglas, Stevie (Lesley) Newburn, Christy Newburn, Joseph Newburn, Jeremy (Bridget) Newburn, Chris Newburn, Brent Newburn, Amy (Jammie) Holiman, Lesley (Randy) Lindley, Jennifer Womack, Jeremy Womack, Chris Maggard, Cody Maggard, Jason (Shannon) Fortenberry and Luke (Julie) Fortenberry; 21 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Saturday, March 24, 2007 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 2 p.m. from Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry McVeay and Rev. Jim Willey officiating.
Entombment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula, Miss.

JORDAN
Mrs. Hazel F. Jordan, age 93, a native of Opp, Ala. and a longtime resident of the Mobile area died on Thursday, March 22, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Jordan.
She is survived by her daughters, Joann (Wayne) Mann, Nancy (Mike) Sebastian, three grandchildren, Jeff (Lori) Hayes, Ashley (Tom) Williams, Sandy (Barry) Seibert, seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Sarah, and Adam Hayes, Maddie Williams, Lindsay, Bradley, and Lauren Seibert, brother, Woodrow (Cleara) Fuller, sister, Maebelle (J.C.) Davis, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 10 a.m. with graveside services and interment to follow in Peaceful Acres cemetery in Opp, Ala. at 2 p.m.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home.

PITTMAN
Richard Dirk Pittman, 49, of Stone County passed away at his home on Thursday, March 22, 2007.
Dirk was born icon in Biloxi, Miss. on April 2, 1957. Dirk was a down to earth "Good Old Boy". He loved to play practical jokes especially on his family. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and dirt track racing. He leaves behind numerous buddies that shared his passion for the great outdoors. Dirk enjoyed sharing these adventures with anyone willing to listen. He had a nick name for everyone including his children whom he always referred to as "Big Man" and "Sissy Girl".
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Brittany Gail Pittman; and his father, Rev. J. R. Pittman.
He is survived by a son, Brandon Pittman and a daughter Destiny Pittman both of Latimer, Miss.; his mother, Mary Lou Pittman of Ocean Springs, Miss.; a brother, Daniel Pittman of Ocean Springs; aunts and uncles, Bobby and Jeanette Pittman, Ralph McGraw, Linda and Don Barker, Peggy and Charles Clay, Bill and Johnnie Fay Pittman and Maurice Pittman; mother of his children, Gail Pittman Killingsworth; mother and father-in-law, David and Julia Massey; brother and sisters-in-law, David and Janie Massey, Vicky and Larry Jones, Paul and Martha Massey, Gary and Sheila Massey, Aaron and Rochelle Massey, Belinda and Ron Hargett, Ramona and Paul Dale Mixon, Glen and Madonna Massey; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and his dog, Baby Girl.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 24, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at the United Pentecostal Church of Ocean Springs, Miss.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 1 p.m., also at the church with Rev. Glenn Massey officiating.
David Massey, Cliff Franklin, James Eason, Jesse Waits, Anthony Kates, Daniel Pittman, and Larry Redmond will serve as pallbearers.

DIAMOND
Mrs. Susie Vaughn Goff Diamond, 91, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at her home in Wade, Miss. She passed away eight days before her 92nd birthday.
Mrs. Diamond was preceded in death by her father and mother, Mr. Lawrence E. and Mrs. Lola E. Goff; her husband, Mr. R.J. Diamond; her three sons: Robert Davis, Jr., Larry Davis and Bill Diamond; and a grandson, Slay Diamond.
She is survived by her three daughters, Betty Tynes and Kathy Hamrick, both of Wade, and Reba Capers of New Orleans, La. "Mamaw Susie" was the loving grandmother of 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren. The sister of six brothers, she was "Aunt Susie" to more than a score of nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Diamond was a member of Caswell Springs United Methodist Church for 81 years. Her extended family includes her closeknit church community which she served throughout her life in a variety of capacities, especially as Sunday School teacher to two generations of elementary schoolchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Caswell Springs United Methodist Church in Wade. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. from the church with Rev. Roger Puhr officiating. Interment will follow in Caswell Springs cemetery in Wade.
Pallbearers will be Manly Barton, Benny Goff, Harry Goff, Allen Goff, Rusty Tynes and Jerry Sims.

TREHERN
Marlene Trehern, age 72, of Houston, Texas and formerly of Pascagoula passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at her home in Houston, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon E. Trehern and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olen Franklin.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Trehern, Frank Trehern (Lynn), all of Houston, Texas, Terry Trehern (Mary), Saucier, Miss., Shannon Scott Trehern, Houston, Texas; two sisters, Betty Solomon (Dave), Keller, Texas, Marguerite Fuller, Hattiesburg, Miss.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Host of nieces and nephews.
A very special thanks to Mike and Helen Ainsworth for their help and support after Hurricane Katrina. A special thanks to all nurses and staff with American Hospice. Also, a special thanks to all her friends that cared for her in Houston, Texas.
Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2007, 6-9 p.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 24, 2007, 1 p.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula with Rev. Billy Thompson officiating.
Interment will follow at Machpelah cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss..

CUNNINGHAM
Minerva C. Cunningham, 96, of Lucedale, Miss., went home to be with Jesus on Oct. 8, 2007. She was born icon May 16, 1911, in Lucedale and lived most of her life in Jackson County. She resided in George County for the past 20 years. She was a member of Eastside Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris E. Cunningham; three daughters, Frances Thibodeaux, Cynthia Bernard, Priscilla Austin; one son, Cecil Cunningham; two grandchildren, James Craig Ball and Tina Marie Ball, and one daughter-in-law, Betty Cunningham.
She is survived by one son, Edward E. Cunningham of Lucedale; three daughters, Martha (Craig) Sylvera of St. Bernard, La.; Dorothy Holder of Lucedale, Addis (Charlie) Weaver of Lucedale and one daughter-in-law, Marcita Cunningham of Pascagoula, Miss.; 31 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cunningham was a nurses' aide at the former Gold Coast Nursing Home in Pascagoula for 17 years. Later she was a custodian at Escatawpa Elementary School for another 1712 years, at which time she retired at the age of 85. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed crabbing up until July 2007, when she was diagnosed with leukemia.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, from Eastside Assembly of God Church with Rev. Wendell Stork and Bro. Joey Stork officiating.
Interment will follow at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church in Escatawpa.

DUNN
BMC (Ret.) Michael Winston Dunn Sr., 44, of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away on Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at USA Medical Hospital in Mobile, Ala.
He was born icon Oct. 25, 1962, in Donaldsonville, S.C., and has been a resident of Pascagoula since 1977. He was a 1980 graduate of Pascagoula High School. He was a U.S. Navy retired veteran having served 20 years and during the Gulf War as a Boatswain Mate Chief. Among his proudest achievements, was his selection as the Honors Officer of the Deck for the commissioning of the USS McFaul.
After retiring from the Navy in 2001, he became employed as a ship superintendent at Northrop Grumman and Avondale. His current position was on the LPD19. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Dunn; grandparents, Arlo and Thelma Dunn; Bruce Donaldson.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Dunn, Pascagoula; son, Michael Winston Dunn, Jr. and his companion, Shani Stewart, of Pascagoula; wife, Lois Dunn, Pascagoula; granddaughter, Kina Estroso, Pascagoula; father and step-mother, Winston and Susie Dunn, Pascagoula; three sisters, Deborah L. Smith, Summerville, S.C.; Cheryl Hatten (Greg), Pascagoula; Angela Tipton (Scott), Pascagoula; four step-siblings, Joe Cook, Pascagoula; Tim Cook (Virgina), Pascagoula; Suzette Necaise (Scott), Pass Christian, Miss.; Donor Skrnich (Kirk), D'Iberville, Miss.; six nieces, three nephews, other relatives and close friends.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, 6 to 9 p.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, 11 a.m., Woodlawn Baptist Church in Pascagoula with Rev. Wayne McMahan officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Tyler Cobb, Mike Beal, Nelson Webb, Matt Johnson, Tim Cook, and Phil Lechner.
Interment will follow with Full Military Honors at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church in Pascagoula.

POWELL
Clara A. Powell, 86, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at her residence. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Assembly God Church in Pascagoula. She was a retired bookkeeper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover J. Powell; grandson, Randy Powell; parents, Luther and Ada Pittman and siblings, Sis Ellzey, Dovie Mae Welch, Vallie Yates, Mulford Pittman, Harrison Pittman, Claude Pittman and son-in-law, Larry Musgrove.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth B. Powell and his wife, Marie of Shreveport, La.; daughters, Karen Powell Musgrove of Pascagoula, and Phyllis Powell LeGardeur and husband, Michael, Sr. of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother, Cliff Pittman of Hattiesburg, Miss.; sisters, Margaret Holifield of Pearl River, La., Ollie Newsome of Lake Charles, La.; sister-in-law, Maudell and Bob Rivers of Ellisville; grandchildren, Darren Musgrove, Brian Powell, Ronnie Powell, Scott LeGardeur, Michael LeGardeur, Jr. and Kim Powell Lightfoot and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville, which is in charge of arrangements.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Brown officiating.
Pallbearers will be Darren Musgrove, Brian Powell, Ronnie Powell, Scott LeGardeur, Michael LeGardeur, Jr. and Kim Powell Lightfoot.

RASMUSSEN
Janet Marie Pol Rasmussen, 67. In the presence of her family and the beautiful things she loved, Janet passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at her home in Seabrook, Texas. Beloved wife of Robert L. "Bill" Rasmussen and mother of William L. "Billy" Rasmussen, Shelley Rene Rasmussen and Stefanie Ann (Darrell) Toungate of Seabrook. Janet was a former resident of Gautier, Miss. Janet was born icon Jan. 1, 1940, to Miguel Lee and Mary Schlease Pol in Jackson County, Miss. Her formative years were spent in Pascagoula, Miss., and Baton Rouge, La., where she graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1959. She continued her studies at Spencer Business College also in Baton Rouge. Janet and Bill were married icon in 1964 and they made their early home in the Pascagoula area. Janet loved to travel and experience the cultures of other countries. During Bill's career in industrial construction, they were able to live and travel in many countries around the world. It gave Janet great pleasure to collect beautiful objects from each of these countries with which she decorated her home, but upon returning to the states, Janet found the source of her greatest joy; her grandchildren, Ashley Maire Rasmussen and Tyler Dupree Reed. Janet was a member of the Catholic faith and had been affiliated with Our Lady of Victories Church in Pascagoula, St. Mary's Catholic Church of Gautier and St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nassau Bay, Texas.
Janet was predeceased by her parents and one brother, Louis Andrew Pol of Pascagoula.
Other survivors are brothers, Thomas Gary (Lynda) Pol of Ocean Springs, Miss., Miguel L. Pol and Walter Lee (Delores) Pol of Pascagoula; father and mother-in-law, William H. and Burnice M. Rasmussen of Vancleave, Miss., as well as numerous other relatives in Jackson County.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula.
Visitation for the family and friends will be at 10 a.m. with services to follow at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Toungate, Tyler Reed, Michael Pol, Richard Rasmussen, Ric Rasmussen and Carl Wyatt Jr. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCan) 2141 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 7000, El Segundo, CA 90245 or online at PanCan.com.
