Jerry Oneil Sherrod was born icon Oct. 8, 1934, in Philadelphia, Miss., (Neshoba County) to the late Hector C. Sherrod and Sudie Hudson Sherrod. He was a resident of Jackson County for 55 years. He died Oct. 8, 2007, at Singing River Hospital, Pascagoula, Miss.
Jerry accepted Christ as his personal savior under the leadership of Dr. John W. Davis Sr., The Greater Antioch Baptist Church. He was a member of the usher ministry, Lodge No. 485 Masonic Mason ILA Local 1752, employed by Ingalls Shipbuilding, June 1, 1962-- retired July 7, 1997. He received the long service award. He was married icon to the late Emma Jean Brown Sherrod.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Emma Jean Sherrod; his parents, Hector and Sudie Sherrod.
Survivors include three loving sisters, Donner Marie Sherrod Allen of Pascagoula, Erma Lee Sherrod Cooks and Haver Lene Sherrod Leach, Both of Jackson, Miss.; one loving brother, Turner Gene Sherrod of Jackson; two step-daughters, Lenora Chester and Patricia Sellers; two step sons, Houston Brown and Herman Brown; aunt, Catherine (Douglas) Harris of Jackson, four nieces, three nephews; three great nieces; six great- nephews, a host of step- grand and great-grandchildren, cousins, other family and friends; special friends, Wayne (Jean) McCann, Madie and James Handshaw.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at The Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church from 11 to 1 p.m. with Dr. John W. Davis Sr. officiating.
Interment will be held at Scranton cemetery, Pascagoula.
Turner's Gulf Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

WALKER
Mrs. Murley Grace Walker, 81, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Oct. 9, 2007, in Pascagoula. She was born icon Aug. 4, 1925, in George County, Miss. Mrs. Walker was a member of First Baptist Church of Moss Point, Miss. She was a faithful caregiver to the wife of Dr. Thompson.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Elisha and Mamie Kilgo; her husband, David R. Walker Jr. and a son, David R. Walker III.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Pearl Davis Kilgo; nephews, Earl (Marie) Kilgo, Stanley (Brenda) Shields, John R. (Taido) Livaudais; nieces, Voncile Ros, Pauline L. Bing, Joan (John) Cooper, Carolyn (Gerald) Ball-inger, Anita (James Ray) Robertson, Louise (Harry) Boss; and beloved friend, Jarvis Harrison.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, from Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Perry officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service time.
Interment will follow at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula. Arrangements by Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point.

CLEMONS
Jorcy Faye Clemons, passed away Oct. 5, 2007, in Ocean Springs, Miss., at the age of 60. She was born icon in Warren County, Miss., on April 7, 1947, to the late L.B. Mitchell and Agatha Griffin Mitchell. She attended George Washington Carver High School in Philadelphia, Miss.
She is preceded in death by both parents and brother, Dewitt Mitchell.
Survivors included a devoted husband of 44 years, Samuel E. Clemons; two sisters, Helen Mitchell of Gautier, Miss., Brenda Barry of Mendenhall, Miss.; two brothers, George Larry Mitchell of Osh Kash, Wis., Willie (Carolyn) Mitchell of Gautier; brother-in-law, James Clemons (Carol) of Pascagoula, Miss.; sisters-in-law, Edna Clemons and Dorothy (Ardell) Brazzle of Gautier; aunts, Dorothy (Holly) McGee of Philadelphia, Bennie Randall-Henry of St. Louis, Mo.; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Special niece; April Mitchell of Racine, Wis; devoted friends, Sonia Stennis and Mary Tanner both of Ocean Springs, Ms. Nell of Moss Point, Miss. and Kathy Warner of Gautier.
Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, from 9 to 11 a.m. from Christian Life Ministry, 3001 Old Spanish Trail in Gautier.
Funeral service will be held at the church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Phillip Stilner officiating.
Interment will be held in Scranton cemetery in Pascagoula.
Arrangements by Robinson Friendly Funeral Home, Moss Point.

MOSS
Anna Ruth Moss, 83, of Moss Point, Miss., passed away, Oct. 9, 2007, in Pascagoula, Miss.
She was born, Oct. 24, 1923, in Helena, Miss., and was a homemaker and a member of Shipman Methodist Church.
Mrs. Moss was preceded in death by her beloved husband, C. J. "Bubba" Moss and a son, Esbie Reed Rogers Jr., as well as her parents, Ollis and Lavada Lawrence.
Surviving her passing is her daughter, Pat (A.L.) Woodward of Big Point, Miss.; two sons, Roy (Sandy) Rogers of Colfax, N.C., and James Ray (Judy) Rogers of Mobile, Ala.; a daughter-in-law, Carol Rogers of Oakdale, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Moss will be Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, Miss., from 5 to 8 p.m.
Her funeral service will be in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, beginning at 10 a.m. with Rev. Steve Cirlot, officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Rogers, Timothy Miller, Anthony Miller, Donnie Rogers, David Rogers, Randy Rogers, James Woodward and Robert Woodward.
Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park, Pascagoula.
Funeral arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated.

WILSON
Bernadine Wilson was born icon March 13, 1939, in Chicago, Ill., to Mattie Coleman and Marrion Wilson (who preceded her in death). She attended Chicago Public Schools and graduated from Parker High School, being the first in her family to graduate from high school. She worked as a nurse at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago for 25 years. Bernadine touched many lives and was always willing to aide others. In the 1980s, Bernadine came to Moss Point, Miss., to assist her family. She later became a permanent resident in 1996. She retired from Treasure Bay Casino and Resort in 2002. On the morning of Oct. 7, 2007, God called his child, Bernadine, back home to begin her eternal life.
She leaves to cherish her memories to one brother, Herman Wilson Sr. of Harvey, Ill.; one nephew/son, Herman (Shirley) Wilson of Harvey; two great nieces, Candid Wilson of Harvey and Brittany Fisher of Chicago; one devoted cousin, Jacqueline (Ben) Baldridge of Arizona; caregiver and friend, Mary Williams of Moss Point, Miss. and a host of special family members and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, from 11 to 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Pascagoula.
Funeral service will follow also from the church at 1 p.m. with Rev. John Davis, officiating.
Interment will be in Chicago.
Arrangements by Robinson's Friendly Funeral Home, Moss Point.

VOGLE
Richard Adolph Vogle, 75, of Saucier, Miss., was called to rest, Saturday, Oct. 6, after a 15-year battle against cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Trenton and Josephine Vogle; a sister, Betty Vogle Davis.
Richard was born icon and raised in Saucier, where he graduated from Success High School. His family encouraged him to complete college and he graduated from Perkinston Jr. College, University of Southern Miss. with a BS in Secondary Education, MS in Educational Administration and William Carey College with a MS in Mathematics. He served two years in the Army during the Korean Conflict as a radio technician at an Army Base in Hawaii. After his release from the Army he began a 31-year career as a Math teacher and School Administrator with the Jackson County School System at St. Martin School. He was a Math Teacher at Lyman Elementary grades 7 and 8 and Harrison Central ninth grade school where he completed his education career. He received numerous Educational Leadership Awards, but what he most prized was the knowledge that he sparked the love and understanding of Math in his students.
Richard was Past Master of J. L. Power Lodge #416 F. & A.M., Perkinston a member of Perkinston Chapter #376 O.E.S., Scottish Rites of Masonry and a Shriner. He was an active member of Poplar Head UMC, Saucier where he served in various church leadership positions. His knowledge of the Bible was shared in Sunday School and the Poplar Head Men's Bible Group. He served on the Board of the Perkinston Wesley of the Perkinston Campus of MGCC. One of his greatest joys was assisting in the building and the completion of "The Barn" at Perkinston where the college students can gather for strengthening their faith in a special positive environment. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed life-long hobbies of hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was an accomplished woodworks man, a skill he learned from his father. His special talents are seen in projects in family homes, Poplar Head UMC, Saucier UMC, and "The Barn" at Perkinston.
Richard is survived by his brothers, Calvin Vogle (Muriel) of Saucier and Alton "Ray" Vogle (Susan) of Leakesville, Miss. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who are left to cherish his memory of the special and ordinary days they shared. He taught many lessons to them but the most important ones were how to accept the challenges of life and not be defeated, trusting always in their Lord and Savior and living that faith each day.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, from 6-7 p.m. for family and 7-9 p.m. for friends at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy 49 N., Gulfport, Miss.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at the Poplar Head UMC, 13196 Poplar Head Road, Saucier at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour before the services.
Burial will be in Blackwell Family cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Poplar Head UMC Building Fund, 13196 Poplar Head Road, Saucier, Miss. 39574.

BERRY
George Pierce Berry Jr. "Father of Al Cobb".
Mr. George Berry Jr. passed away on Sept. 16, 2007, at the age of 73. He was born icon in Simsboro, La. on March 5, 1934 to the late George Pierce and Eula Belle Bullock Berry Sr. He graduated from Ruston High School in 1951 and Louisiana Tech University in 1955 where he played baseball and football in both lettering. After graduation, he signed with the Detroit Tigers and played with the team for two years, then joined the US Navy. Mr. Berry worked as an insurance representative for Ford Motor Company until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Cruikshank Berry and parents, George Pierce and Eula Belle Bullock Berry, Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Cathy Cobb (Cliff Sr.) Carey of Lebanon, Carol (Russell) Brown of Colonial Beach, Va. and Cynthia (Danny) Brian of Knoxville, Tenn.; one son, Al (Regina) Cobb of Pascagoula, Miss.; nine grandchildren, Kimberly (Adam) Tune, Cliff (Marci) Carey Jr., Natalie Griffin, Allen Cobb, Joshua, Aaron, Sarah, Nathan and Jeremiah Brown; and three great-grandchildren, Brooks Tune, Isabella Tune and Jaiden Griffin.

DAVIS
Crystal Ryan Davis, 28, of Vancleave, Miss., passed away on Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, surrounded by her loving family at her home.
She was born icon November 6, 1978, in Pascagoula and has been a life long resident of Jackson County. She received an associate degree of arts from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, bachelor's degree of science from Franklin University and master's degree of business administration from Walden University. She was currently employed with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College as an assessment center procter.
She is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Grady Bradley; paternal grandparents, James Milton Ryan Sr. and Winnie Cruse Ryan.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Davis, of Vancleave; parents, Lloyd and Gwen Ryan, Vancleave; maternal grandmother, Lorraine Bradley, Sevierville, Tenn.; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and very close friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, from 6 to 9 p.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
Funeral service will be Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at 10 a.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home with Rev. Neal Taylor and Rev. Donnie Bradley officiating.
Interment will follow at a family cemetery in Lucedale.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.

COCREHAM
Betty Clelland MacKenzie Cocreham, passed away on Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at 10:30 p.m. Beloved wife of Henry Roland Cocreham Jr.; mother of Bettie Joyce Cocreham Kernion (Sidney) and Peggy Ann Cocreham Holt (Morgan); grandmother of Juliette Kernion (Chip Rosenthal), Peter Kernion (Amy), Gabrielle Kernion, Stephen Kernion, Kelli Holt (Jeff Mack), Kirsten Holt; great grandmother of Kayla Carlos, Brennan Kernion and Catherine Kernion. Sister of Ethelyn MacKenzie Schaffner Connor and Doris MacKenzie deArmas (Will); aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Peter MacKenzie; her mother, Ethel Bertheaud MacKenzie; her stepmother, Edith Gelbke MacKenzie; and two brothers-in-law, Philippe Schaffner and D.L. "Pat" Connor.
She was a faithful member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and St. Luke's Love Circle. She taught in their nursery school for 17 years. She was a member of Bayou Shores and Ladies St. John Golf Clubs.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home Chapel, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie cemetery) on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow in Metairie cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. Services will be officiated by her brother-in-law, Rev. Philip Woodland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church Nursery School, 5872 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 or any children's charity of your choice.

CULVER
Craig Robert Culver Sr., 60, of Gautier, Miss., passed away Oct. 4, 2007, in Ocean Springs, Miss. Mr. Culver was born icon March 9, 1947, in South Hampton, Long Island, N.Y.
Mr. Culver was retired as an outside tech with Bell South, and was a former member of the United States Navy and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Craig was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Culver and his aunt, Frances Culver.
Mr. Culver is survived by his wife, Helen Culver; children, Craig R. "Rusty" Culver Jr., Stacey M. Culver, and Ryan J. Culver; his mother, Terese (Herman) Herfurth; a brother, Paul (Mary Jayne) Herfurth; three sisters, Kathy (Anthony) Polite, Susan (Mitch) Willoughby, and Jackie Herfurth. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Frances R. Holifield; brothers-in-law, George (Pat) Holifield, Jeffrey K. (Melonie) Holifield, and Michael (Rosa) Holifield, and a sister-in-law, Frances M. Holifield. Craig was also survived his nieces and nephews, James Willoughby, Christie (Sammy) Cuevas, Karen Holifield, Chasity (Jessie) Spittle, Nicole (Dan) Barrett, Wesley (Renee) Holifield, Jonathan Holifield, and William Holifield, and his great nieces and nephews, Kodi Cuevas, Colton Cuevas, Nicholas Cuevas, and Matthew Cuevas, Dillon Spittle, Tyler Spittle, Emily Spittle, Abby Holifield and Brook Holifield.
Visitation for Mr. Culver will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Heritage Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Goff officiating.
Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated is in charge of arrangements.

EZELL
Floyd Otis Ezell Jr., 69, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at his home in Lucedale, Miss.
born in Leakesville, Miss., he was the son of the late Floyd Otis Ezell Sr. and the late Vesta (Clifton) Ezell. Mr. Ezell graduated from the Rocky Creek High School in 1956. He then served during Korean War in the Army from Aug. 29, 1959, to March 17, 1962. Following military service, he married icon Sally Jo Campbell on March 8, 1963. The Singing River Electric Power Association employed Mr. Ezell for 30 years as a computer technician. He was also a well-known cattle farmer. He became a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church and the Multimart Water Board.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Jo Ezell of Lucedale; to daughters, Lisa (David) Smith of Lucedale, Niwana (Jon) Campbell of Spanish Fort, Ala.; son, Monty Ezell of Lucedale; granddaughters, Sabrina (Todd) Deakle, Alyssa Jo Ezell, Emma Ezell, Tiffany Campbell; grandsons, Jeremy Smith, Vincente Ezell, Peyton Campbell; great granddaughter, Brooklyn Deakle; great grandson, Garrett Deakle; sisters, Joe Ann (Jim) McLain of McLain, Miss., Mary (Butch) Eubanks of Lucedale; brother, Eddie (Jan) Ezell of Lucedale.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sigler Funeral Home Inc. in Lucedale.
Funeral services will be held Oct. 7, 2007, at 2 p.m. from Sigler Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Rocky Creek cemetery in Lucedale. Rev. Greg Barker will conduct the services.
