Harry Jones Barnhardt

KANNAPOLIS, NC - Mr. Harry Jones Barnhardt, 94, a resident of Concord Place in Concord and formerly of Rogers Lake Road, Kannapolis, passed away, Thursday, June 29, 2006.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Forbis Kivett and the Rev. T. Wayne Preusz will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born September 7, 1911, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Millard K. Barnhardt and Ollie Mae Long Barnhardt. He attended Winecoff High School and retired in Atlanta, Georgia as a union carpenter in 1976, having worked for several commercial contractors along the east coast. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church and the Carpenter's Union.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Hilton Barnhardt, who died November 30, 1983.
Survivors include his son, Tony Barnhardt of Kannapolis; two sisters, Ruth Taylor of Concord and Helen Todd of Charlottesville, Va.; two brothers, Malcolm Barnhardt of Kannapolis and Carl Barnhardt of Concord; a grandson, Timmy James Barnhardt; two great-grandchildren, Heather and Laurie; and several nieces and nephews.

Julian Alexander Barron

KANNAPOLIS, NC - Julian Alexander Barron, infant son of Micah and Kimberley Shoemaker Barron, of 620 Ruth Ave., died Friday, June 23, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center.
A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 pm Monday, June 26, 2006, at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Lady's Funeral Home from 1 to 4:00 pm Sunday.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include brother, Connor J. Barron; and sister, Mikayla E. Barron. Also surviving are the maternal grandparents, O'Lynda Walker and husband, Denver, of Midland, and Donald Shoemaker and wife, Elizabeth, of Rich Creek, VA; and the paternal grandparents, Cornelia Barron of Hedgesville, WV, and Leonard Barron and wife, Joyce, Morningstar of Berkeley Springs, WV.
Blanche Pidgeon Teal

DEATH DATE: June 20, 2006
KANNAPOLIS, NC - Mrs. Blanche Pidgeon Teal, 81, a resident of Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis since 1993 and formerly of 311 Oakdale Ave. died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at NorthEast Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11:00 am Friday, June 23, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Brant Piper will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Teal was born January 3, 1925 in Springfield, Mass. She was a daughter of the late Hector Clarence Pidgeon and Pearl Jennie Sheltra Pidgeon. She retired from the laboratory at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital where she worked as a medical technologist. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Teal Jr., in 1976.
Mrs. Teal is survived by two sons, Larry Teal and wife, Cathy, of Charlotte and Mike Teal and wife, Melonie, of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Jadie Michael Teal and Jessica Leighanne Teal; and special friend of the family, James W. Gibson of Kannapolis.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Transitional Health Services for all of the love and care that has been given to Mrs. Teal over the years.

Betty Fritz Wilson

KANNAPOLIS, NC - Betty Fritz Wilson, 66, of 1230 Dial Street, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Kannapolis West A Church of God. The Rev. Sam Crisp will officiate. Entombment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born January 28, 1940, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Eugene James Fritz and Mary Mullis Fritz Honeycutt. She retired from Ralph's Upholstery which she and her husband owned. She was a member of Kannapolis Church of God where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel F. Helms and Dorothy F. Thomas.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph M. Wilson; four daughters, Shelia L. Pruitte and Debora M. Peeler, both of China Grove, Michell L. Deaton and Janet Patty, both of Kannapolis; three step-children, Ralph Wilson, Jr. of Kannapolis, Alisa Furr of Stanfield and Darrell Wilson of Burlington; a sister, Evelene F. Woodard of Kannapolis; a brother, Floyd D. Fritz of Aberdeen; 13 grandchildren, Kevin Dale Menius, Alisha Marie Pruitte, Brandy Egnor, Tony Peeler, Jr., Kellie McRorie, Jason Deaton, Jonathan Deaton, Tehya Deaton, Ashlyn Patty, Kaley Wilson, Kelsey Wilson, Ladd Wilson and Wesley Wilson; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Egnor, Kobe Egnor and Raelyn Egnor; and an aunt, Ruth James of Landis.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Opal Harvell Sisk

KANNAPOLIS, NC - Mrs. Opal Harvell Sisk, 66, of 2313 Pritchard Street, Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord, died Monday, June 19, 2006, at her residence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Charity Baptist Church. The Rev. R. J. Hammond will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born April 19, 1940, in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse L. Harvell and Lena Harvell. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Harold C. Sisk; a daughter, Cynthia S. Dixon of Wallace, SC; five sisters, Blennie Farrington and Ruth Yates, both of Jamestown, Pearl Furr of Troy, Ruby Britt of Oak Island and Grace Lovin of Myrtle Beach; three brothers, Percy Harvell of Montague, Michigan, Winfred Harvell of Mt. Gilead and Henry Harvell of Asheboro; two grandchildren, Daniel Ray Adams and wife, Crystal, Harold Wayne Adams and wife, Kristina; and two great-grandchildren, Lamar Adams and Christopher Adams.

James Kermitt Elliott

KANNAPOLIS, NC - James Kermitt Elliott, 70, a resident of Five Oaks Manor and formerly of Westover Avenue in Kannapolis, died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at the nursing center.
A graveside service with interment to follow will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Chris Hawks will officiate.
The body will lie in state at Lady's Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Born February 5, 1936, in Graham County, he was the son of the late Wayne Elliott and Nettie George Elliott. He retired several years ago from Cannon Mills.
Survivors are special friends, Barbara Williamson and Robert "Bob" Goodwin.
Andrew Durant Hancock

KANNAPOLIS, NC - Mr. Andrew Durant Hancock, 85 of 804 Bostian Avenue, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Jim Griggs at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2006, in Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
Mr. Hancock was born April 29, 1921, in Mt. Croghan, S.C., a son of the late Robert Lester Hancock and Daisy Jane Rollins Hancock. He was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church and retired from Cannon Mills where he was a fixer in the sheet department. He was an avid gardener with strong, loving hands, capable of pursuing his passion of growing things from apples and oranges to pecan trees and tomatoes. He was always ready to give comfort, love and support to anyone needing an additional prayer. His quick smile and laugh was always ready to share with anyone and his wit was without end. He joked his way through the days of illness, even making his doctors and nurses laugh. Always a wonderful husband, daddy, paw- paw, brother and friend, he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Gilmore Hancock; a son Harry Hancock and wife, Reta, of Anderson, SC; three daughters, Janice Hancock and husband Gary, of Kannapolis, Patty Eller and husband, Tim of Mooresville and Gail Cole and husband Lex of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Elbert Hancock of Pageland SC and Fred Hancock of Lancaster, SC; five sisters, Grace Hancock, Kathleen Baker and Dorothy Gulledge, all of Kannapolis, Billie Jean Knight of Pageland, SC and Myrtle Jordan of Mt. Croghan, SC; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Joan Steger Reynolds
BIRTH DATE: February 14, 1930
DEATH DATE: June 4, 2006
SALISBURY, NC - Joan Kathleen Steger Reynolds, 76, of 2975 Shue Road, and formerly of Peterstown, W.V., died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord after losing her battle with cancer.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2006 at Orchard Cemetery in Ballard, WV.
Mrs. Reynolds was born February 14, 1930 in Pearisburg, VA. She was the daughter of the late George W. Dillon and Kathleen Miller Dillon. She was a Dietitian for Greenbrier Manor in Lewisburg, West Virginia. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Red Sulfur Baptist Church in Red Sulfur, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John William Steger, Sr., and her second husband, Dennie Dale Reynolds.
Mrs. Reynolds is survived by a daughter, Janet Foster and husband, Dennis of Salisbury; three sons, John William Steger, Jr. and wife Leann of Kannapolis, Jeff Benjamin Steger of China Grove and Charles Michael “Mike” Steger and wife Donna of Florence, SC; eight grandchildren, Steven, Christopher, Shana, Michelle, Sonya, Trey, Justin, and Jillian; and two great-grandchildren, Marshall and Rayleigh; first cousins Lily Humphreys and Irene Greene, both of Ballard, W.V.
The family expresses their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Oncology Unit at NorthEast Medical Center. for the caring and support. The family also wishes thank Joanne Steger for all of her time and energy that she has given to help Mrs. Reynolds and her family.

Stanley Lee Reichenbach

KANNAPOLIS, NC - Stanley Lee Reichenbach, 54, of 2700 Maryland Avenue, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Open Arms Baptist Church, 711 Main St., Concord. The Rev. Mike Brown will officiate.
Born February 2, 1952, in Alexandria, VA, he was the son of Dorothy Lucille Reichenbach and the late Elmer C. Reichenbach. He was formerly employed as a driver for Rick's Delivery Service. He was veteran of the US Army.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Lucille Reichenbach of the home; a sister, Barbara Jean Patten of North Port, FL; and a brother, Phill M. Reichenbach of the home.
Roy Alton Teague
BIRTH DATE: December 15, 1944
DEATH DATE: May 22, 2006
KANNAPOLIS, NC - On May 22, 2006, Roy Alton Teague graduated from this life at NorthEast Medical Center to the life triumphant at the age of 61.
Funeral services for are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Raymond Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with graveside rites conducted by DAV Chapter 27 of Concord.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home, 322 Elwood Street.
Mr. Teague was born December 15, 1944 in North Wilkesboro, NC. He was a son of the late Alton Walter Teague and Nancy Vesta Blevins Teague. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in Korea. In 1973, Roy joined the National Guard Unit 1454 in Concord and served until 1993. In 1991, as part of the National Guard, he served our country in Desert Storm. Roy worked for Security Services USA in Charlotte as a security guard, where he was stationed at Stanley Tools in Concord.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Teague was preceded in death by two sisters, Shelby Jean Dayvault and Hazel Faye Mason.
Mr. Teague is survived by his wife, Joyce Donahue Teague; a daughter, Lisa Teague of Kannapolis; two sons, Chris Teague and Matt Teague, both of the home; a sister, Verna Ruth Lewis of Gloucester, VA; a brother, James Teague of Kannapolis; and one grandchild, Jordan.
