MARGARET IRENE BROWN HACKNEY
Margaret Irene Brown Hackney, 99, of Siler City died Saturday, (01-08-2011) at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday (01-10-2011) at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Greg Burris officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery
Mrs. Hackney was born March 3, 1911, the daughter of Donnie and Daisy Harris Brown. A native of Chatham County and former resident of Silk Hope, she a housewife, a member of Rocky River Baptist Church and a poultry and cattle farmer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold Dorsett Hackney, and brother, Harvey Brown.
There are no immediate survivors.

THELMA SMITH HARRIS
Mrs. Thelma Smith Harris, 79, of Moncure, died Saturday (01-01-2011) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services were held Thursday (01-06-2011) at Liberty Chapel Church with Pastor Norman Bryant officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Harris was a native of Chatham County, a member of Liberty Chapel Church, and was employed at Webster Poultry Company and UNC Hospital. She sang with the Relative Gospel singers.
Survivors include children, Karen Marsh of Sanford, Alvin Harris of Apex, Shelton Smith of the home; sisters, Bertha Seymore of Sanford, Ann Trapp, Jane T. Wilson, both of Moncure; brother, Johnny Wilson of Moncure; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
CLEOTHA McKINNEY
Mr. Cleotha McKinney, 67, of Pittsboro died Thursday (01-06-2011) at Hospice of the Meadowlands in Durham.
Funeral services were held Wednesday (01-12-2011) at the First Baptist Church Pittsboro.
Survivors include his mother, Ella Deese McKinney of Pittsboro; brother, Larry McKinney of Pittsboro; sisters, Linda McKinney, Laura Miller, Pauline Brooks, all of Pittsboro, and Aggie Burgess of Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert McKinney.
SALLY LOU BRADY RYAN
Sally Lou Brady Ryan, 85, of 4135 Chatham Street, Bennett, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at N.C. Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at Bennett Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Tim Strider and John Wayne Phillips officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Ryan was a native of Iron Town, Ohio and the daughter of the late Adna and Helen Everly Mohr. She was a retired cafeteria manager at Bennett School and also retired from Southern Supreme Gourmet Foods. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Brady, John Ryan, a sister Dot Hall and brother, Adna Mohr, Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Lou Parker of the home; sons, Joseph Brady and wife Karen of Gibsonville, Carlton Brady and wife Cathy of Asheboro; sister, Betsy Ann Meriweather of Macon, GA; grandchildren, Kristin and Logan Brady, Linday and Olivia Teeters, Chelsea Zimmerman and a great-grandchild, Emma Zimmerman.
Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church fellowship hall and other times at the home on Chatham Street.

JACK KENNETH PICKARD
Jack Kenneth Pickard, 78, of 246 Ball Park Road, Bonlee, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation.
Mr. Pickard was born March 28, 1932, the son of Carl and Sallie (Lowe) Pickard. He was a native of Chatham County and retired from Collins & Aikman. Jack was a member and past master of Mt. Vernon Masonic Lodge #143 A.F & A.M. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josie Pickard; sisters, Cloyce Poe, Aliene Lambert, Edith Moore; brothers, Jerry, Howard, Doug and Milton “Butch” Pickard.
Surviving is one daughter, Jackie Pickard Wilson and husband, Mike of Bear Creek; two sisters, Frances G. Robbins and Ruby P. Blair of Siler City; step-son, James Ralph Hilliard of Elon College; step-daughters, Nancy Light of Staley, Mary Ann Hardister of Goldston; two grandsons, three granddaughters and one great-grandson.
The family received friends Friday, January 7, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral was held Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Bonlee Baptist Church, with Rev. Darrell Williams officiating. Burial followed in Hope Cemetery, Bonlee.

JANICE ASA FAULKNER
Janice Asa Faulkner, 56, of Fuquay-Varina died Friday, December 31, 2010 at her home.
Janice was a loving wife, mother and friend and will be missed dearly. She was an artisan and owner of The Decorative Arts Studio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Robert and Anna Jo Asa.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald “Monte” Faulkner of the home; son, Ethan and daughter Abby, both of the home; step-mother, Shirley Asa of Wilkesboro; brothers, Bobby Asa and wife, Ann of Melrose, FL, Mike Asa and wife Susan of Keystone Heights, FL and Mark Asa of Fort Lauderdale, FL; step-brother, Jeff Glenn of Pineville; step-sisters, Patricia Adams and husband, Kevin of High Point, Janet Johnson of Wilkesboro; and step-mother-in-law, Joan Faulkner Webster and husband Russell of Siler City.
A celebration of Janice’s life was held Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel, Fuquay-Varina with Rev. Doug Humphrey officiating.

GERALD MILTON WHITE, JR.
Gerald Milton White, Jr., 38, of Raleigh and Pittsboro died in his sleep at his parents’ home January 9, 2011.
He is survived by his parents, Gerald and Lula Bunker White; two sisters, Stacy White and her two children Jade and Nate, Jennifer Eichenberger and her husband David, and their children Ethan and Lauren. He is also survived by Catherine Fuqua and Susie Walton; and many other family and friends.
A service to celebrate Gerald’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Highland United Methodist Church, 1901 Ridge Rd, Raleigh, with a time of visitation for friends and family to follow in the fellowship hall. The service of committal will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Hanks Chapel United Church of Christ in Pittsboro. Gerald will be privately interred in Hanks Chapel Cemetery.
Flowers are welcome, but the family appreciates contributions being sent to the SPCA in Gerald’s memory.
Arrangements are under the care of Hall-Wynne funeral service and Cremation of Pittsboro.
Mrs. Alfhild “Ollie” Grambo Crawford
Mrs. Alfhild “Ollie” Grambo Crawford, 85, of Burlington died Sunday, July 12, 2009.
She was born November 30, 1923 and grew up in Arlington, NJ and later moved to Burlington in 1958. She was the daughter of the late Garfield Samuel Grambo and Esther Lacker Grambo who were immigrants from Norway and Sweden.
Ollie was a beloved wife, mother and “Gramie”. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Crawford, Jr. of the home; two children, Marilyn Crawford Hargrave (Willie Eugene) of Asheboro, NC and Robin Crawford Rash (James Edward) of Hickory, NC; four grandchildren, Heather Hargrave Dobie (Richard Lee) of San Antonio, TX, Allison Hargrave Cook (Matthew Christopher) of Denver, NC, Grant Crawford Rash (Stacee Lutz) of Hickory, NC and Erin Lindsay Rash of Charlotte, NC; and four great-grandchildren, Barbara Taylor Cook, William Foster Dobie, Robert Crawford Dobie and Samuel Logan Cook.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m.

Miss Rebecca Lynne Rogers, 55, of the Murdoch Center, Butner, NC died at Durham Regional Hospital on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 1:45 a.m.
A graveside service will be conducted at Alamance Memorial Park on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.

Tony Ricciardi
Mr. Tony Ricciardi, 71, of Elon died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Friday, July 10, 2009.
A native of Springfield, Massachusetts, he was the husband of Rosie Ricciardi, who survives and the son of Anthony Ricciardi and Lucille Petrone Ricciardi, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a retired retail analyst. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two daughters, Victoria Shelton and Michelle Mertz, both of Burlington; one son, A. J. Ricciardi, Jr. of Tampa, FL; and four grandsons.
A private memorial service will be held at the residence.

Nannie Mae Wright Boswell
Mrs. Nannie Mae Wright Boswell, 86, of 2417 Blanche Drive, Burlington died at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 11:00 p.m.
A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Daniel P. Boswell and the daughter of James Bedford Wright and Effie James McKinney Wright, both deceased. She retired from AT&T; in 1984 and was a volunteer Pink Lady at Alamance Regional Medical Center for over 25 years. Nannie was a member of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church and the Golden Circle Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Paula Kay Boswell of Burlington and a son, Kenneth James Boswell of Sunnyvale, CA.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Susan Wright and a brother, Thomas Aaron Wright.
The funeral service will be conducted at Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Jimmy Nickelston. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
