Interment will follow in Gilmore Memorial Park, Julian NC.

Mrs. Hazel S. Rummage
SERVICE DETAILS: When: August 23, 2004 11:00 AM
funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday August 23, 2004 at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church.

Interment will be held at 2:00 PM Monday August 23, 2004 in Anderson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Albermarle, North Carolina.

Mrs. Hazel Shaver Rummage, 81, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 21, 2004 at her home.

She had been in declining health for several years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church.

Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Anderson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Albemarle.

The Rev. Dr. Vernon Williams and Rev. Michael Barrett will officiate.

Mrs. Rummage was born in Stanley County on December 27, 1922.

She married Harold Rummage on April 27, 1940 and moved to Pleasant Garden with him in 1941.

Mrs. Rummage was instrumental in assisting her husband with the operation of his company, H.R. Rummage Construction Company, and the maintenance of his farm for many years.

They also had two daughters together which she cared for in their home.

She and her husband were members of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Her husband preceded her in death five months earlier, and her parents, James Thomas and Verta Mauldin Shaver also preceded her in death.

Surviving Mrs. Rummage are daughters, Gladys Faye R. Tidwell and husband Don, Kym R. Edwards and husband Philip; grandchildren, Michael Tidwell and wife Tracey, John Tidwell and wife Michelle, Tonya Tidwell, Eric and Katie Edwards; brother, J.T. Shaver; sisters, Pearline Chandler and Louise Deese.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Forbis & Dick Funeral Home in Pleasant Garden.

Mr. Frank James Vogl
SERVICE DETAILS: When: August 19, 2004 10:00 AM
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Thursday August 19, 2004 at Holy Infant Catholic Church in Reidsville, NC. Interment will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery.

KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Frank James Vogl, died Monday, August 16, 2004 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Holy Infant Catholic Church, Reidsville, with Father Christopher Davis officiating.

Interment will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery.

Mr. Vogl was a native of New York City and moved to Greensboro in 1990.

He was a member of Holy Infant Catholic Church and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife Carol Vogl; five children, Christine Keeler of Mebane, James F. Vogl of Jamestown, Thomas J. Vogl of Winston-Salem and Catherine Vogl Willis of Kernersville; mother, Florence Vogl of New York; two sisters, Marie Moffett of New York and Patricia Himmel of Darien, Conn.; six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Vogl in 2002

The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 P.M. and 7-9:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at Forbis and Dick Funeral Home, N. Elm Street.

Mrs. Daun Young Gross
SERVICE DETAILS: When: August 19, 2004 2:00 PM
funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday August 19, 2004 at Forbis & Dick North Elm Chapel.

Interment will follow at Westminister Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Daun Young Gross of Greensboro died Friday, August 13, 2004 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Forbis & Dick, North Elm Chapel.

Interment will follow in Westminster Gardens.

Her husbands ashes will be interred with her.

Mrs. Gross was a native of Hornell, New York and has lived in Greensboro since 1949.

She was a former member of First Lutheran Church where she was a member of a Circle, taught Vacation Bible School and volunteered with Mother’s Morning Out.

Mrs. Gross was a homemaker, loved her Bridge Clubs, was a great cook, loved to knit and enjoyed good music.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester E. Gross, II; son, Lester E. Gross III and daughters, Andrea Daun Gross and Andrea Claire Gross.

Survivors include her daughters, Kristen Gross Fink and her husband Eric of Prosperity, SC, Stacey Gross Janet and her husband Jason of Durham, NC and Daun Gross Light and her husband Frank of Madison, NC; sisters, Kathy Nelson of New Bern, NC, Janis Malone of Rancho Palos Verde, CA and Susan Jones of Charlotte, NC; brother, John Young of Churchville, NY and grandson, Britton Mason Janet.

Memorials may be made to the Grimsley High School Band Fund, 801 Westover Terrace, Greensboro, NC 27408 or to the Kiser Middle School Band Fund, 716 Benjamin Pky., Greensboro, NC 27408.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:30PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Otis Bennett Osborne
SERVICE DETAILS: When: August 17, 2004 11:00 AM
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday August 17, 2004 at Buffalo Presbyterian Church.

Interment will follow in Church Cemetery.

GREENSBORO, NC - Otis Bennett Osborne 87, died Saturday August 14, 2004 at his home.

Mr. Osborne’s funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday August 17, 2004 in Buffalo Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jesse Bledsoe and Reverend John Kimmons officiating.

A Guilford County native, Mr. Osborne was born on June 1, 1917, son of the late Charles Lindsey and Annie Apple Osborne.

Otis was a longtime member of Buffalo Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder, Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent.

Otis loved the many years he served as a Boy Scout leader at Buffalo Church.

Summit Lawn and Garden was founded by Otis and he retired after 24 years.

Otis was an avid gardener and delighted in sharing the fruits of his labor with friends, family, and relatives.

Otis is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maxie Moore Osborne of the home; two sons Bill Osborne and his wife, Martha of Greensboro and Mike Osborne and his wife, Margaret of Canton, Georgia; three sisters Mrs. Jessie Pegram of Brown Summit, Mrs. Mildred Brignull of Valatia, NY and Mrs. Rebecca Harder of Kinderhook, NY; five grandchildren Kim Wallace, Debbie Simmons, Suzanne Ross, Matt Osborne, Megan Osborne; seven great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Otis was preceded in death by two brothers William Alfred Osborne and Charles Lindsey Osborne, Jr. as well as three sisters Edna Swink, Eva Osborne, and Florene Wrenn.

The family will receive friends from 7 – 8:30 PM on Monday evening at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the care given by Annie Reeves and Rose Ellis Hill during the years of Mr. Osborne’s illness.

Memorials may be made to Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 803 Sixteenth Street, Greensboro, NC 27405 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Mrs. Thelma Jefferies Thomas
SERVICE DETAILS: When: August 16, 2004 2:00 PM
Graveside Service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 16, 2004 at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Thelma Jefferies Thomas 84, died Friday, August 13, 2004 at Beverly Health Care of Greensboro.

A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Thomas at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 16, 2004 in Lakeview Memorial Park with Dr. Lawrence Clapp officiating.

Thelma Thomas was born in Leaksville, NC on September 7, 1919 to the late Thomas James and Mary Clower Jefferies.

She was retired from Winn Dixie and a homemaker.

Mrs. Thomas was a faithful member of South Elm Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son Larry Thomas Quakenbush and his wife, Nina; step-son Guy V. Thomas and his wife, Shirley; brother Haywood Jefferies all of Greensboro; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Beverly Health Care – Carolina Street for the kindness and devotion shown to Mrs. Thomas.

The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:30 PM on Monday at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street.

Memorials may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.

Mrs. Shirley Morgan Ingram
SERVICE DETAILS: When: August 15, 2004 2:00 PM
Cryptside Service will be held 2:00 PM Sundaym, August 15, 2004 at Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum.

GREENSBORO, NC - Mrs. Shirley Morgan Ingram 67, of 3026 Forestside Drive died Friday, August 13, 2004 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

A cryptside service will be held for Mrs. Ingram at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 15, 2004 in the Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Shirley Ingram was born on December 9, 1936 to the late Bynum and Viola Angel Morgan.

A lifelong resident of Guilford County, Mrs. Ingram was a former secretary for First Baptist Church of Greensboro and a member of Sharpe Road Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ingram is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ray Ingram of the home; daughter Sylvia Ingram Holland; son Russell Ray Ingram and Becky Gayler all of Greensboro; four sisters Juanita Stone of Summerfield, Clara Cox of Greensboro, Pat Huffines of Matthews, and Linda Ward of Greensboro; and a special granddaughter Morgan Holland of Greensboro.

The family will receive friends from 7 – 8 PM on Saturday evening at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street and other times at the residence.
