HORACE AVERETT CAMERON
Horace Averett Cameron, 81, of Cameron died Saturday, (11-02-2013), at First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst.
funeral service was conducted at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, (11-05-2013), at 3 p.m. with Pastor John Brown and Dr. Carl Matthews officiating. Burial followed in Grace Chapel Church Cemetery.
He was born in Moore County, to the late Parker Holmes Cameron and Cecil Agness Watts. He was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Cameron Ross and Olga Belle Cameron. He worked at Kelly Springfield Tire Company for many years and was a Barber in Cameron.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Clara M. Cameron of Cameron, and a sister, Louise Danley of Cameron.
SARA ELAINE MAULTSBY
January 5, 1940 – October 27, 2013
Sara Elaine Maultsby, 73, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 after an extended illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William LeRoy Maultsby and Virginia Jones Maultsby of Mebane.
Survivors include her son, Nicholas Maultsby Jones of Baltimore, MD; five sisters, Phyllis Young of Greensboro, Nancy Young of Oakhurst, CA, Gail Caison of Jeannette, PA, Betty Maultsby of Chapel Hill, Vicki Driscoll of Pittsboro; and a brother, Drew Maultsby of Chapel Hill.
Sara was a 1957 graduate of Mebane High School and a 1961 graduate of Duke University. She obtained a Master of Arts in English from the University of San Francisco and a degree in French conversation from L’Universite de Lausanne, France. Her professional career includes: stewardess for Pan American World Airways, Contributing Editor and Columnist for the San Diego Reader, Artists in Prisons Program for at-risk youth for the LA County Office of Education, Associates Producing Director and Project Director for L.A. Theatre Works, Education/Communication Manager of SunShares in Durham, NC, Director of Cultural Resources for Chatham County, NC, and Managing Arts Director for the Page Walker Museum Art and History Center in Cary.
A memorial service is planned for the Page Walker Museum in Cary, NC, on Sunday, November 17 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Care.
CYNTHIA LOUISE WRIGHT
Cynthia Mackie Gottberg Wright passed away on October 28, 2013.
Cindy was born on November 17, 1962 in Portland, Maine to Jacqueline and the late Thomas Mackie. After graduating from Kennebunk High School, she moved to Florida to attend college. Having returned to NC, she met and married Darren Wright. Cindy then earned a Paralegal degree from Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, where she was on the Dean’s List. She worked as a Paralegal for many years before becoming a Massage Therapist and devoting her time to working with cancer patients.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Darren Wright; her mother, Jacqueline Stewart and step-father, Harvey E. Stewart, Sr. of Hope Mills; her daughter, Porchia Gottberg Rudanovic and her husband, Milan of Davidson, her son, Joseph Thomas Wright of Pittsboro; and two step-children, Michael Wright and his wife Kelly of Concord, and Katelyn Clack and her husband Christian of Taylorsville. Cindy was an only child, but inherited four siblings, Sandra Clark of Wade, Harvey E. Stewart, Jr. of College Station, TX, Steven C. Stewart, Jr. of Grays Creek, and Jennifer C. Hixson of MD.
Services for Mrs. Wright were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at New Horizons Fellowship Church in Apex. Pastor Ray Wickham officiated. A reception followed in the N.H.F. Annex.

MARGARET LUCY DISNEY
Margaret L. Disney died on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Carolina Meadows Retirement Community in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
She was born February 21, 1909, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, the daughter of Richard Philip and Lucy Smith Disney. She lived, was educated, and employed in Maryland until she moved to North Carolina in 1985. She enjoyed life in NC living close to her sister Elizabeth and John, her sister’s husband, who both preceded her in death.
Margaret retired in 1977, after 30 years as Administrative Secretary in both Maryland’s Chronic Disease section of the Public Health Department and Rehabilitation Hospitals.
Margaret served her country in World War II as a WAC where she was trained to be an x-ray technician. She was a talented artist and attended art and design school in Baltimore. Her love for art and painting brought lifelong joy to her. Her skills as a clothing designer and seamstress enabled her to create lovely fashions.
A stalwart in the Pittsboro United Methodist Church, Margaret collected items all year long to turn into art for the annual fundraiser. With great attention to detail, she painted, sewed, and glued many handcrafted items for the bazaar.
Aunt Margaret was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Surviving are nephews John Hughes, Jr. and wife Charlotte of Hillsborough, NC and Robert F. Hughes and wife Linda of Roanoke, VA. She has three grand nieces and nephews, Johna Hughes Bruton and husband Ric and their sons Bays and Hampton, Josh Hughes and wife Jamie and their children Olivia and Hoyt, and Robby Hughes.
A memorial service will be at Pittsboro United Methodist Church on 11-16-2013 at 10 a.m. and a memorial service at Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill, NC on 11-16-2013 at 2 p.m..

JEFFREY ALLEN BLAKLEY
Jeffrey Allen Blakeley, 36, of Siler City died Wednesday, (10-23-2013) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Blakely was born in Tipton, Indiana May 20, 1977, the son of Willie and Martha Petty Blakley. He was a graduate of Jordan-Matthews High School, employed as a machine operator with EPC, and a Southern Baptist.
Survivors include his parents, Willie and Martha Blakley of Siler City; sisters, Karen Blakley of Kernersville, Jennifer Wittenbrook of Greensboro; brother, William Blakley of Siler City; maternal grandmother, Edna Estelle Dyke of Washburg, TN.
JOHN CALVIN “JC” BOWERS
John Calvin “JC” Bowers, 79, of Siler City died Tuesday, (10-22-2013) at his residence.
A graveside service was held Saturday (10-26-2013) at 2 p.m. at Hickory Mountain U.M.C. with Rev. Mary Ellen Bender officiating.
Mr. Bowers was born in Chatham County July 27, 1934, the son of Wiley and Eva (Thompson) Bowers. He was a member of Hickory Mountain U.M.C., an Army Veteran and a retired route salesman with Reidsville Grocery. He was preceded in death by sons, Gregory and Richard Bowers, his parents, and brother, Ralph Bowers.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Estelle (Shuskey) Bowers; step-son, Jimmy Marshall; step-daughter, Joanie Marshall, both of Siler City; step-daughter, Phoebe Marshall of Lexington; sisters, Margaret Thornburg of Siler City, Maxine Tillman of Goldston, Betty Jean Bowers of Bear Creek; brother, Sherman Bowers of Siler City; ten grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three, great-great-grandchildren.

GOLDIE ANN CRISSMAN PALLONE EBINAL
Mrs. Goldie Ann Crissman Pallone Ebinal, 84, of Sanford died Wednesday (10-23-2013) at her residence.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
A native of Vandergrift, PA, she was born August 8, 1929 to the late Harry S. Crissman and Martha M. Slagle Crissman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James C. Pallone; brothers, Robert Crissman, Jay Crissman and Homer Crissman and an infant sister. She owned and operated a small business specializing in making garments for the handicapped.
Survivors include two sons, Michael J. Pallone of East Palatka, FL, Francis P. Pallone ofSt. Augustine, FL; daughters, Claudia A. Foulk of Sanford, Santina M. Zoruba of Doylestown, OH; brothers, Leroy Crissmand of Spring Church, PA, Jimmy Crissman of Beaumont, TX; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
LOUVENE WILLIAMSON MANESS
Ms. Louvene Williamson Maness, 88, of Bennett passed away Sunday (10-27-2013) at FirstHealth Hospice in Pinehurst.
Funeral services were held Wednesday (10-30-2013) at 2 p.m. at Joyce Brady Chapel with Rev. Joey Green officiating. Burial will follow at High Falls Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
Ms. Maness was a Moore County native and the daughter of the late John T. and Sarah K. Williamson. She had worked as a textile worker. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Maness, four sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include daughter, Elaine M. Jones of Bear Creek; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be directed to FirstHealth Hospice in Pinehurst.
A.C. CHILDRESS
A.C. Childress, 73, of Sanford died Friday (10-25-2013) at his residence.
The funeral service was held Saturday (10-26-2013) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lemon Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Foley and Rev. Wayne O’Quinn presiding. Burial followed in the cemetery.
Mr. Childress was born in Moore County April 16, 1940 to the late Floyd L. Childress and Mary Oldham Childress. He was also preceded in death by brothers Alfred, , Guthrie and Vernie Ray Childress. He was a retired U. S. Mail Carrier.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Doby Childress of the home; son, Duane Childress of Lemon Springs; step-son, Edward O. Doby of Tramway; daughters, Cindy Stott of Lemon Springs, Bonnie Blackman of Waxhaw, Mollie parker of Lemon Springs; step-daughters, Brenda Ross of Cameron, Linda Sloan of Sanford, Patricia D. Douglas of Moncure, 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
KENNITH RAY YOW
Mr. Kennith Ray Yow, 59, of Bennett passed away at his home on Friday (10-25-2013).
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday (10-27-2013) at 2 p.m. at Pine Mountain Friends Church in Bennett, with Rev. Joey Green officiating.
Mr. Yow was a Chatham County native. He worked as a diesel mechanic at Mountaire Farms in Candor.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Virginia “Jenny” Yow of the home; daughters, Brandy Yow Swaney of Seagrove, Autumn Yow of the home; father, Coy L. Yow of Seagrove; mother, Annie Ruth Yow Star; sisters, Ann McLeod, Kay Caviness of Star.

GUILFORD RAY LANGLEY
Guilford Ray Langley, 68, of Siler City died Friday (10-25-2013) in Lexington.
A graveside service will be held Friday, (11-01-2013) at 11 a.m. at Staley Cemetery, with Rev. Darrell Williams officiating.
Mr. Langley was born in Guilford County of June 11, 1945, the son of Ray and Dorothy Lee (Dunlap) Langley. He attended Bonlee Baptist Church, and owned Tar Heel Philatelics.
Survivors include daughters, Donna Frances Langley of Glendon, Heather Langley Carrasco of Cameron, Traci Langley Gagnon of Bonlee; and five grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Staley Cemetery, Main Street, Staley.
JOHN FLETCHER MANN
Mr. John Fletcher Mann, 88 of Pittsboro died Tuesday (10-29-2013) at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (10-31-2013) at Orange Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Belcher and Rev. Bob Eldridge presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Mann was born in Chatham County March 23, 1924, the son of Warden Wesley Mann and Daisy Dean Thompson Mann. He attended Bynum School and worked at UNC, then later with Carolina Telephone Company, retiring after 32 years. He was a member of Orange Chapel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Tommy Mann.
Survivors include daughter, Jennifer G. Mann of the home; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
