ALLENE TRIPP CAMPBELL
Allene Tripp Campbell, 88, formerly of Chapel Hill, died Tuesday (10-14-2008) at The Laurels of Chatham in Pittsboro.
Funeral services will be held Friday (10-17-2008), 2:00 p.m., at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Robinson presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Campbell was born in Chatham County, a graduate of Bynum School, and retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield where she worked as a claims processor. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Larry Campbell of Chapel Hill; a daughter, Shirley Mauer of Pittsboro; twin sisters, Helen Brasington of Pittsboro and Clarene Campbell of Sanford, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
WILLIAM JACK BREWER
William Jack Brewer, 75, of Bear Creek died Tuesday (10-21-2008) at his residence.
The family will receive friends Wednesday (10-22-2008) from 6pm to 8 pm at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Ave., Siler City.
Funeral services will be Thursday (10-23-2008) at 2:00 pm at Siler City Church of God, 510 North Fifth Ave., Siler City, with Rev. Neal Kight officiating.
Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Bap-tist Church Cemetery, Bear Creek.
Mr. Brewer was a native of Chatham County and attended the Siler City Church of God. He was retired from Town-sends Hatchery.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Brewer; three sisters, Mildred Freeman and Doris Jordan of Bear Creek, and Mary Hutchins of Coleridge; two brothers, Howard Brewer of Bear Creek and Russell Brewer of Liberty.
ANA RUTH BARRAZA
Ana Ruth Barraza, 39, of Sanford, died Sunday (10-19-2008) at UNC Hospitals.
Friends may visit the family Wednesday (10-22-2008) from 2pm to 7pm at Iglesia Bautista Misionera Roca Fuerte, 1365 NC Hwy 902, Pittsboro. Fu-neral services will be held from 7pm to 9pm, conducted by Rev. Javier Benetiz.
Ms. Barraza was born in El Salvador. She worked as a packager for Tyson Poultry.
She is survived by her hus-band, William Avalos; sons, Victor and Jonathan; daugh-ter, Marcella; three brothers and two sisters.
BERNICE CALLENDER BREWINGTON
Bernice Callender Brewington, 79, died Sunday (10-05-2008) at her residence.
A private burial was held at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, and a memorial service was held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Pittsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she was a member, with Pastor Kenneth Blake officiating.
A native of Manhattan, NY, Mrs. Brewington was a retired claims investigator for the State of New York. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Sanford where they operated an upholstery business until 2003.

SAMUEL OSCAR RADFORD
Samuel “Sam” Oscar Radford, 71, of Salisbury, died Tuesday (10-07-2008) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday (10-12-2008) at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Worley officiating. Burial followed at Rowan Memorial Park.
Mr. Radford was born in Buncombe County, where he received his education. He worked as a welder/machinist for Cone Mills and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Banks Radford, of the home; daughter, Belinda K. Sellers of Pittsboro; and six grandchildren.

TINA LOUISE AGUILA
Tina Louise Aguila, 29, of Siler City, died Friday (10-10-2008) at her residence.
The graveside service was held Saturday (10-11-2008) at 2:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery, N. Chatham Ave., Siler City, with Rev. Ron Helliard officiating.
Tina was a native of Orange County and had been employed at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation of Siler City.
She is survived by her husband, Saul Aguila; daughters, Jasmin Simon Aguila, Karina Nichole Aguila and Luz Araceli Brenda Depaz of Siler City; son, Johnathan Raul Aguila of Siler City; parents, Franklin W. and Brenda Cagle; sister, Crystal C. Clark of Siler City, and grandfather, Charlie Cagle of Siler City.
IMOGENE MOSES BYRUM
Imogene Moses Byrum, 81, formerly of Edenton, died Thursday (10-02-2008) in the Skilled Nursing Facility of Chowan Hospital.
Funeral services were held Sunday (10-05-2008) at Edenton Baptist Church, where Mrs. Byrum was a member, with Dr. Wayne Proctor and Rev. David Brooks officiating. Burial followed at Beaver Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Byrum was born in Pittsboro and graduated Goldston High School. She earned a degree in Home Economics from Appalachian State Teacher’s College and worked as an Assistant Home Demonstration Agent.
She is survived by her husband, George Alma Byrum; daughters, Jean B. Brown and June B. Proctor of Edenton; sister, Mary Alice Moses; and brothers, Jerry Moses and Thomas Moses of Pittsboro.
STEVEN KADRICK
Steven Kadrich, 49, of Bynum, died Friday (10-10-2008) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A memorial service was held Saturday (10-11-2008) at his residence.
Steve was born in Alpena, Michigan. He currently resided in Bynum where he worked as a floorer.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona Kadrich; mother, Esther Kadrich; daughter, Kimberly Kadrich; step-daughters, Jennifer Coles and Colin Bracey; brothers, Brian and Greg Kadrich; sisters, Laurie and Kathy Kadrich; and five grandchildren.
ANNIE MAE HARRIS
Annie Mae Harris, 81, of Pittsboro, died Friday (10-03-2008) at the Laurels of Chatham.
Funeral services were held Wednesday (10-08-2008) at 2:00 pm at Russells Chapel Church in Pittsboro, with Rev. Sylvia De-Graffenreidt officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Harris was a member of Russells Chapel Church and sang in the senior choir.
She is survived by her husband, Steven E. Harris of the home; daughters, Carolyn Penny, Faydean Harris; sons, Joseph Harris of Apex, Earl Perkins of Georgia, and Steven Harris Jr., of Moncure; and 15 grandchildren.
RICHARD GIBSON POND
Richard Gibson Pond, 77, of South Boston, VA, died Thursday (10-09-2008).
Funeral services were held Sunday (10-12-2008) at Brooks Funeral Home in South Boston.
Mr. Pond was a native of Siler City and attended Elon College where he studied business administration.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Weatherford Pond of South Boston; son, Peyton Gibson Pond of Reston, VA; sisters, Marie Pond Jones of Siler City, and Barbara Pond Walker of Virginia Beach.

ANNIE BETT THOMAS MENDENHALL
Annie Bett Thomas Mendenhall, 91, of Moncure, died Tuesday (09-30-2008) at Wake Med Cary Hospital.
Mrs. Mendenhall was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Pittsboro.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday (10-03-2008) at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with The Rev. Ron Aldridge officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her sons Eddie Mendenhall of the home and Ronald Mendenhall of Tryon; brother, Jim Thomas of Pittsboro; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
ABEL AGUILAR-SANCHEZ
Abel Aguilar-Sanchez, 40, of Siler City, died Monday (09-29-30) at Chatham Hospital, Siler City.
Mr. Aguilar-Sanchez was a saw operator at a lumber company.
Reception and funeral services were held Thursday (10-02-2008) from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Iglesia Bautista Misionera Roca Fuerte in Pittsboro. Burial will be in Pantion La Paz Cemetery in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico.
He is survived by his parents; his wife, Lucia Soto Aguilar; daughters, Guadalupe Aguilar and Jaqueline Aguilar; sister, Marilu Aguilar; and brothers, Efrain, Lenin, and Ruben Aguilar.
EUGENE BURNS TURNER
Dr. Eugene Burns Turner, 84, of Goldston, died Sunday (10-05-2008) at Chatham Hospital, Siler City.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, 504 West 2nd St., Lumberton, NC on Friday (10-10-2008) at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Dr. Turner is survived by his wife, Georgia McNeill Turner of the home; daughters, Rosalind Turner Bell and Andrea Turner, both of Washington, DC; sisters, Inease T. Wicker of Goldston and Thelma Nevada Turner of Washington, DC; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
