David Edward Helenski, 30, of Morrisville died Friday, (12-21-2012).

Arrangements were under the care of Hall-Wynne funeral service and Cremation.

JOHN EDWARDS MARSH

John Edwards Marsh, 65, of Cameron died Sunday, (12-23-2012) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.

The funeral was held at Cameron United Methodist Church, Wednesday, (12-26-2012) at 4 p.m. with Rev. Dave Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Cameron Town Cemetery.

He was born in Lee County, to the late Oliver Lee Marsh, Sr. He was self-employed as an Electrical Contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Wade Marsh of the home; son, Rodney Wayne Marsh of Cameron; daughter, Marlene Marsh Dean of Sanford; mother, Kathleen Edwards Deaton of Robbins; brothers, Oliver L. Marsh, Jr., Richard G. Marsh, both of Cameron; sister, Judith Marsh Johnson of Sanford; and two grandchildren.

FERNANDO BENITEZ TOLEDO
Fernando Benitez Toledo, 82, died Friday, (12-28-2012).

A funeral service will be held in Guerrero, Mexico.

FAYE GRAHAM HALL
Mrs. Faye Graham Hall, 76, of Spring Lake, died Friday, (12-28-2012) at her home.

The funeral will be Thursday, (01-03-2013) at 11 a.m. at Olivia Presbyterian Church with Rev. George Walton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was born in Harnett County on August 22, 1936 to the late Garland Graham and Odell Godfrey Graham. She worked as an accountant in civil service. She was also preceded in death by a sister Carolyn Dalrymple and brother Charles Graham.

She is survived by her husband Lloyd Hall.

The family received friends Wednesday, (01-02-2013), from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Olivia Presbyterian Church, PO Box 88, Olivia, NC 28368-0088.

ANDREA LEE HOLDER
Andrea Lee Holder, 36, of Sanford, died Friday, (12-28-2012), at Central Carolina Hospital.

The funeral was held Monday, (12-31-2012) at 3 p.m. at Swann Station Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Blackmon and Rev. Rob Brown officiating. Burial followed at Cameron Grove Cemetery.

She was born in Lee County on September 12, 1976, to Bobby Daniel Holder and Laura Lee Mayne Holder of the Swann Station area. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Maddox Leigh Weaver.

In addition to her parents, Andrea is survived by her daughter, Carleigh Reagan Weaver of the home.

Andrea graduated from Western Harnett High School and attended CCCC. She was a member of Swann Station Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an account set up for Carleigh Reagan Weaver at State Employee Credit Union in Sanford.

BETTY ANN CRIGGER STRICKLAND
Betty Ann Crigger Strickland, 66, of Cary died, Saturday, (12-29-2012), at Tower Nursing Home in Raleigh.

The funeral was held Monday, (12-31-2012), at 1 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Buffalo Cemetery.

She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 14, 1946 to Frances Spivey Tarkington Crigger and the late Lloyd Knox Crigger.

She is survived by her mother of Ayden; sons, Russell Weston Strickland of Cary, Matthew Ryan Strickland of Hickory; brothers Joseph Crigger of Holly Springs, Thomas Crigger of Robersonville; sisters, Linda Blake of Raleigh, Lorrie Hudnell of Winterville, Sherri Troop of Garner; and four grandchildren.

MARY LOUISE MANN
Mary Louise Mann, 94, died Saturday, (12-29-2012) at UNC Hospital. Funeral services are incomplete at this time.

CAROL POE WORRELL

Carol Poe Worrell, 69, died Monday, (12-31-2012) in Lansdale, PA. Funeral services are incomplete at this time.

BARNEY EDISON BRADY
Mr. Barney Edison Brady, 92, of Bennett, passed away Sunday, (12-30-2012) at his home.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, (01-02-2013) at 2 p.m. at Fall Creek Baptist Church where he was a member with Rev. Scott Allmon and Rev. Bob Wachs officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Brady was a Chatham County native and a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva E. Caviness Brady and a step-son, Dale Phillips.

Survivors include his wife, Lois C. Brady of the home; daughter, Jo Ann Williams of Clemmons; sons, Jimmie Brady of Charlotte, Donnie Brady of Jamestown, Phillip Brady of Bennett; step-daughters, Jeanie Scott of Siler City, Mary Lois Thomas of Sanford; brother, Homer Ray Brady of Robbins; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

JAMES ALLEN WHITE
James Allen White, 77, of Siler City died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation.

Mr. White was born in Lee County on April 23, 1935, the son of Ernest White and Zelphia Lett Elder Richardson. He had been employed as a truck driver with Liberty Chair and was a member of Loves Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Terry White and fiancee’, Gail Jones of Asheboro, Danny White of Siler City, Mike White of Siler City; mother, Zelphia Richardson; one sister, Peggy Pittman and husband Leroy of Gastonia; half-sister, Georgia Trogdon and husband Lester of Siler City; half-brother, Tommy Elder of Siler City; grandchildren, Cory White, Marianne Walters; great-grandchild, Preston Walters; and a special cousin, Nellie Cox of Sanford.

A graveside memorial service was held Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Loves Creek Baptist Cemetery, 1745 East 11th Street, Siler City with Pastor Craig Day officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Loves Creek Baptist Church, 1745 East 11th Street, Siler City, NC 27344.

REVEREND WILBUR CARROLL TEACHEY
Reverend Wilbur Carroll Teachey, 81, of Beaufort, NC, left this earthly world for his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 25, 2012, in his home surrounded by family.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ann Street United Methodist Church in Beaufort with Rev. David Wade, Rev. Charles Pollock, and Rev. Teachey’s son- in-law, Rev. Manley Rose, Jr., officiating. Interment followed at Carteret Memorial Gardens.

Reverend Teachey was born June 17, 1931 in Rose Hill, NC to Percy and Viola Teachey. He attended Bob Jones University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts and then continued his studies at Pembroke University and Duke University, receiving a Master’s in Divinity. After receiving his degree he began his career as a United Methodist Minister in the North Carolina Conference. From 1954 to 1959, Reverend Teachey pastored Fair Bluff United Methodist and Cerro Gordo-Olivet United Methodist. From 1959 to 1963, he pastored Carver’s Creek United Methodist. From 1963 to 1971, he pastored Grace United Methodist Church in Clinton, NC where he met and married the love of his life, Sylvia Jean Boyette, on April 9, 1967. Two years later their only daughter, Jean Carol Teachey, was born on February 28, 1969. From 1971 to 1975, he pastored Havelock United Methodist. From 1975 to 1981, he pastored Siler City United Methodist. From 1981 to 1987, he pastored Ann Street United Methodist Church in Beaufort, NC. From 1987 to 1992, he pastored Farmville United Methodist. From 1992 to 1995, he pastored Trinity United Methodist in Wilmington, where he retired. After retirement, he continued to pastor Broad Creek United Methodist Church. While pastoring, Reverend Teachey had various leadership roles in the United Methodist Conference, as well as the communities he served. Reverend Teachey was a faithful and loyal servant to the Methodist Church up until his battle with Parkinson’s Disease began in 1999. All those he came in contact with were greatly influenced by his Godly wisdom and gentle spirit. He will be truly missed by his family and all that knew him.

Reverend Teachey is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sylvia Boyette Teachey; one daughter, Jean Teachey Rose and husband Manley of the home; two granddaughters Correna and Rachel Rose, both of the home; three sisters, Helen Englert of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Carolyn Fish and husband Robert of New Bern, NC, Linda Williams and husband Wayne of Chesapeake, VA; one brother, J.C. Teachey and wife Betty of Greensboro, NC, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Teachey, father, Percy Teachey, and step-mother Eunice Teachey.

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Munden Funeral Home.

Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Rev. Wilbur C. Teachey Scholarship Fund via Ann Street United Methodist Church, 417 Ann St. Beaufort, NC 28516or Potter’s for Parkinson’s Foundation 103 Opal Court, Beaufort, NC 28516.

DONALD LEE TARKENTON
Donald Lee Tarkenton of Siler City, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the age of 64.

Preceding Don in death was his father, James Theodore (Teddy) Tarkenton. Don was a loving and caring husband, father, son, and friend. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Margaret; daughter, Stephanie Tarkenton Hall of Siler City; mother, Elsie L. Tarkenton of Chesapeake, VA; and granddogs, Max and Rascal.

Don was an alumnus of Oscar Frommel Smith High School in Chesapeake, VA, class of 1966. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Political Science and Social Sciences from Elon College in 1970. After receiving a Master of Public Administration degree from West Virginia University in 1971, he came to Siler City, as the youngest Town Manager in the state.

Don worked for Raymond James Financial Services, Inc., Siler City as a Branch Manager. His professional designations include Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Consultant, and Chartered Life Underwriter. He was licensed for several Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series licenses, and from 1995 to the present, he was a Member of the Board of FINRA Arbitrators.

From December 2008 to June 2011, he served as a Member of the Board of Trustees for the North Carolina Teachers and State Employees Retirement Systems through the Department of the State Treasurer. He was former Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Chatham Hospital, Inc. in Siler City. He was a former member and Chairman of the Siler City Planning Board and Board of Adjustments, and former Chairman of the Siler City Jobs Search Committee. He was former Director and Executive Committee member for Central Carolina Community College Foundation, Inc., and a former member of the Chatham County Board of Education.

He was former President of the Siler City Chamber of Commerce, and recipient of the 1989 Distinguished Citizen Award presented by The Siler City Chamber of Commerce. He was former Director of the Siler City Rotary Club as a Paul Harris Fellow.

In accordance with Don’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services. The family will receive friends at the home at 341 Pine Lake Drive, Siler City.

Donations may be made to Chatham Hospital, Inc. at 475 Progress Blvd., Siler City, NC 27344.

PHILIP GARY “SPANKY” LIPSCOMB
Philip Gary “Spanky” Lipscomb, 77, of New River Road, Hinton, WV entered into eternal rest, Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at his home following a long illness.

Born September 15, 1935 at Hinton, WV, he was a son of the late Eugene L. “Shady” and Sadie M. Davis Lipscomb.

Spanky was a lifelong resident of Hinton, WV and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was retired from CSX after working as a clerk for 28 years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel Elaine Richardson Lipscomb and one step-son, Ty Wayne Deeds.

Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 32 years, Zonita J. Lilly Lipscomb of the home; one son, Gary Steve Lipscomb and wife Ann of Hinton, WV; one daughter, Michele Lipscomb Patrick and husband Gary of Siler City; three grandchildren, Jonathan and Kristina Lipscomb of Hinton, WV Michael Patrick of Siler City; two step-daughters, Rogena Deeds Davidson and husband Randy of Athens, GA, Teresa Deeds Spicer of Bellepoint, WV; five step-granddaughters and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial followed in the Restwood Memorial Gardens at Madams Creek, Hinton, WV.

Friends called at the funeral parlor from noon until time of services on Friday.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton, WV.

CHARLES DEANE BEAVER
Charles Deane Beaver, 74, of 1355 Dean Beaver Road, Bear Creek died Friday, December 28, 2012 at his home following an extended illness.

Mr. Beaver was born in Chatham County on June 26, 1938, the son of Coley and Ruby (Henson) Beaver. He was retired with the NC DOT as a heavy equipment operator. Deane was a member of Sandy Branch Baptist Church and served as a former Deacon. He taught Sunday school at Hill Forest Rest Home for 26 years. Deane will be remembered for his love of horses, wagons and motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen (Stone) Beaver; one daughter, Denise Beaver of Bear Creek; two sons, Bryant Beaver of Bear Creek, Barry Beaver of Siler City; three sisters, Ann Glosson of Pittsboro, Shirley Fritz of Princeton, KY, Alicia Kidd of Bear Creek; one brother, Jay Carr Beaver of Pittsboro; and two grandsons, Duane and Wesley Jones.

The family received friends Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral was held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Sandy Branch Baptist Church, 715 Sandy Branch Church Road, Bear Creek with Rev. Marc Sanders and Rev. Bob Wachs officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
