Francine Pittman Sharp

Southport - Francine Pittman Sharp

Francine Pittman Sharp, was taken by her hand and led to heaven by our Heavenly Father on July 9th 2014.

She was born icon on the 14th day of May 1977, in Lumberton Hospital and was the only child of Walter Clark Pittman and Edith Ann Pate Pittman. Francine attended South Brunswick High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1995. She married her long time boy friend Samuel Floyd Sharp on September 2nd of the same year. Francine gave birth to their only child Samantha Rose Sharp 5 years later on the 19th of May 2000. Francine and Sam were definitely soul mates. She was a best friend to many, and had a heart as big as the sun. She was a devoted daughter, mother, wife, and best friend to us all. She always loved at 110% never anything less. Francine loved deep, and her favorite things were spending time with her family, friends, and her animals.

Francine is survived by her parents Clark and Edith Pittman, of Southport. Her husband Sam Sharp, and daughter Samantha Sharp of Southport NC. She was like a daughter/sister to her husband’s family. She will definitely be missed by many.

The family invites you to attend her services at Peacock Newnam & White funeral home (1411 North Howe Street) in Southport, N.C. July 19th 2014 around 4pm for a celebration of life. They ask that if you have any pictures to bring them and maybe tell a fond memory of Francine. Francine did not want any suits at her memorial she wanted you to show up like you were coming to our house.

The family and friends that were there with her during her final days want to put a special thanks to all the members of the Hospitality House and all of the Dr’s and nurses at Carolinas Regional Medical Center thank you for taking the extra steps in taking care of her and ourfamily. (Ohana: Means Family and Family means no one is left behind or forgotten)

The family has asked that in lue of flowers or plants please make a donation to Francine’s Fund that has been set up to offset the cost of medical bills. It is at Corning Credit Union 125 Racine Dr, Wilmington, NC 28403 • (910) 392-6688member # 166770 account is Francine’s Fund.

Teresa Crisco Simmons

Winnabow - Teresa Crisco Simmons

Teresa Crisco Simmons, age 58, affectionately known as “Grandma” of Winnabow, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born icon on November 3, 1955 in New Hanover County the daughter of the late, Luther Crisco and Elois Robbins Crisco, also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Simmons, Sr. and a brother, Fairley Crisco.

Teresa attended Red Hill Pentecostal Church in Delco and was loved by all that knew her and will be greatly missed .

Surviving are two sons, Victor Simmons and Charles Simmons, Jr. (Chuck) and wife Robyn both of Winnabow, NC; a brother, Denver Crisco and wife Danielle; three sisters Phyllis Cook and husband, Freddy, Cindy Reeves and husband, Ricky and Barbara Cochrane and husband, Ken all of Riegelwood, NC; two grandchildren, James “Jamie” and Felicia Simmons both of Winnabow, NC; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday July 13, 2014 at Peacock Newman & White Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel by Reverend Ken Cochrane officiating. Interment will follow in the Willetts Cemetery Winnabow.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: James Simmons, Jamie Huffman, Benji Huffman, Ricky Lee, PJ Jones and Patrick Broskey.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Cody Mason and James White.

Mildred Christensen

Southport - Mildred Christensen

Mildred Christensen 89 of Southport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Dosher Nursing Center.

Mrs. Christensen was born icon October 27, 1924 in New Jersey the daughter of the late Edward and Elsie Eberle. She moved to St. James from New Jersey in 2003 and was a member of Beach Road Baptist Church. Mrs. Christensen was preceded in death by her husband Howard Christensen.

Surviving is her son David Christensen and wife Judy of St. James; a brother Edward Eberle of Toms River, NJ; two grandsons, Brian Christensen and wife Heather of Chesterfield, NJ and Kurt Christensen and wife Danielle of Monroe Township, NJ; and four great-grandchildren Erik, Samantha, Kennedy, and Kalloway.

Interment will be in New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Dosher Nursing Center c/o Michelle Lawrence, 924 N. Howe St., Southport, NC 28461.

Priscilla Egan Rose

Boiling Spring Lakes - Priscilla Egan Rose

Priscilla Egan Rose, 67, of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC died Monday, July 7th 2014 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC.

Mrs. Rose was born icon November 14, 1946 in Utica, NY. She was the daughter of Arthur William Egan, Sr. and Beatrice Clarabell Jayne Egan, both deceased. She was a member of The Congregational Church of Patchogue, NY. She was employed with American Security Bank, Washington, DC, as an estate accountant and later with the Register of Wills, Superior Court, Washington, DC.

She is survived by her husband, David Rose; a brother, Arthur William Egan, Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Durham, NC and their two daughters; a brother-in-law, Thomas Rose and his wife, Denise, and their four daughters.

Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA at a later date.

Mrs. Rose had a great love for animals, adopting only shelter animals and contributing to many animal causes.

Marjorie Sellers

Wilmington - Marjorie Lorraine Piver Sellers of Wilmington, NC went to be with her family in heaven on July 5, 2014 after suffering from a lengthy illness. She was born icon on February 2, 1948 to the late Roger (Rob) M. Piver and Ruby E. Piver.

She leaves behind two daughters, Veronica Byrd (Travis) of Matthews, NC and Christy Spivey (Chris) of Wilmington, NC, also her former husband of 34 years, Donald T. Sellers. She also leaves behind two brothers, Jimmy Piver (Arlene) of Newport News, VA., William Piver (Leslie) of Clayton, NC and one sister Hilda Rich (Patrick) of Leland, NC as well as four grandchildren, Lydia Redden (Andrew) of Concord, NC, Adam Byrd of Matthews, NC Tyler Spivey and Hannah Spivey both of Wilmington, NC.

She loved her family very much and her grandchildren were her life and heart.

A memorial service will be at 2pm on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC with Reverend Paul Waters officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, form 1 to 2 pm, at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and to The Wounded Warriors Foundation.

Diane Clark

Southport - Diane Stidham Clark, 70 of Southport passed away on July 4, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Clark was born icon March 16, 1944 in Brunswick County the daughter of the late Jake Parnell Stidham and Annie Lewis Stidham. She was the former owner and operator of J&A Seafood and H&R Block in Southport for 45 years. Mrs. Clark loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers and bird watching. Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by a son Timothy Maggard, a brother Donnie Stidham, and a sister Jean Maggard.

Surviving is he husband Justin Clark; a son Robert Donald Maggard, Jr. of Boiling Spring Lakes; two daughters Julie Maggard Edge of Leland and Christy Clark McKeithan and husband James of Oak Island; a brother William “Bill” Stidham and wife Linda; and a sister Betty Knight and husband James, all of Southport; eight grandchildren, Justin Maggard, Jessica Suddeth, LeAnne Edge, Ashley Edge, Autumn Maggard, Brittany Maggard, Amber Maggard, and Savannah McKeithan; and five great-grandchildren, Eithan, Aiden, Justin, Aniyah, and Anslee.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in the Peacock – Newnam & White funeral service Chapel with Reverend Fred Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Northwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday evening at the funeral home.
