Margery A. Brown

Margery A. Brown, 78, of Medford, died Monday (Oct. 18, 1999) at her home. A private service will be held. Pastor Lyle McCaw of the White City Church of Christ will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, OR 97501.

She was born Margery Miller on July 3, 1921, in Perry, N.Y., a daughter of Harry C. and Gail M. Miller. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1963 from New York.

Mrs. Brown was the owner and operator of Western Oil and Burner Company in Medford.

Survivors include a son, Keith Harrison, Medford; a daughter, Christine Day, Fresno, Calif.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Brown.

Arrangements: Hillcrest Mortuary, Medford.

Ila M. Conner

The funeral for Ila M. Conner will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Talent United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bill Hare and Mary Ellen Hare will officiate. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Ashland.

Mrs. Conner, 85, of Talent, died Monday (Oct. 18, 1999) at her home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504.

She was born March 23, 1914, in Elk City, Okla., a daughter of Melissa and Lewis Hill. She moved with her family to the Rogue Valley, where she was raised and attended school.

On June 6, 1933, in Medford, she married George Conner, who preceded her in death. She lived in Talent most of her life.

Mrs. Conner was a cafeteria worker for the Talent School System.

She was an active member of the Talent United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School.

Mrs. Conner enjoyed gardening and working with children.

Survivors include two sons, Paul E., Dayton, and David L., Loma Mar, Calif.; two sisters, Olive O'Harra, Phoenix, and Opal Parisotto, Klamath Falls; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Arrangements: Litwiller-Simonsen Crematory & Funeral Home, Ashland.

Patricia `Pat' Ann Novy

Patricia "Pat" Ann Novy, 60, of Medford, died Sunday (Oct. 17, 1999) in Hearthstone. She had battled lung cancer since 1994. A private service was held.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 691 Murphy Road, Suite 236, Medford, OR 97504.

She was born Patricia Hibbs on Jan. 6, 1939, in South Dakota. She grew up and attended school in St. Paul, Kan.

On Feb. 11, 1980, in Reno, Nev., she married Edward A. Novy, who survives. She moved to the Rogue Valley 35 years ago from St. Paul, Kan.

Mrs. Novy worked at J.D.'s Market in Central Point for four years.

She enjoyed going to White City Bingo and socializing with friends.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Billy Ray, in Florida; four daughters, Kimberly Jean, in Oregon, Debra Kay, in Montana, Pamela Fay, in Kansas, and Cheryll Ann, in California; three brothers, Robert Hibbs, Sacramento, Calif., Erwin R. Hibbs, Kansas City, Mo., and William Hibbs, Thayer, Kan.; seven sisters, Lenora Semler, Central Point, Barbara Lindgren, Medford, Marjorie Zimmerman, Stanfield, Rosa Simmons, St. John, Wash., Eula Cook, Coffeeville, Kan., June Buckles, Junction City, Kan., and Judy Owens, Wichita, Kan.; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Iva Joyce McCoy.

Arrangements; Central Valley Cremation & Funeral Care, Central Point.

Bill F. Verschoor

The graveside service for Bill F. Verschoor will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Logtown Cemetery in Ruch.

Mr. Verschoor, 75, of Medford, died Sunday (Oct. 17, 1999) in Medford.

He was born Feb. 13, 1924, in Wilderville. He was raised in Wilderville, and lived in the Rogue Valley all his life.

On Oct. 19, 1946, in Medford, he married Martha A. Meeds, who survives.

Mr. Verschoor worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps when he was young. He and his wife logged together and cut firewood, and later worked as orchardists at Crater Lake Orchards, now Sabroso.

He attended Applegate Christian Fellowship.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Calvin, Medford; three daughters, Jane King, Martha Diane Brownson, and Christena "Cookie" Andal, all White City; two brothers, Clarence, Medford, and Howard, Kaiser; and a sister, June Vanaukin, in Washington.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford.

Marlys Ann Larson

Marlys Ann Larson, 60, of Sandpoint, Idaho, formerly of Gold Hill, died Saturday (Oct. 16, 1999) in Sparks, Nev. A local memorial service will be held later.

She was born Jan. 30, 1938 in Clyde, N.D., a daughter of Stewart and Clara Lou MacArthur. She was raised in Clyde and attended the teachers college in Bismarck, N.D.

In 1958, she married Lyle Larson, who survives. She moved to Portland and lived there for two years before moving to San Jose, Calif. In 1971, she moved moved to Gold Hill, where she raised her family. She moved to Sandpoint in 1997.

Mrs. Larson enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three daughters, Trina Larson, Medford, Pam Vaughan, Corvallis, and Ree Hawken, Crescent City, Calif.; two sons, Bret, Sandpoint, Idaho, and Trent, Anchorage, Alaska; three sisters, Clara Lou Seaver, Susan Westphal and Karen McLean; a brother, Stewart MacArthur; and seven grandchildren.

Arrangements: John Sparks Memorial Cremation Society, Sparks, Nev.

Mildred F. Wickman

The funeral for Mildred Frances Wickman will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Mortuary in Medford. The Rev. Tom Groman of McMinnville will officiate. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mrs. Wickman, 95, of Medford, died Monday (Oct. 18, 1999) at her home.

She was born Mildred Kimbrel on Nov. 24, 1903, in Dodge City, Kan.

On Dec. 18, 1922, in Coffeeville, Kan., she married Joyce "J.W." Wickman, who died in 1975. She moved to the Rogue Valley from Dodge City in 1937.

Mrs. Wickman was an office manager for the family business, Medford Plate Glass and Mirror Company, from 1954 to 1975. Her son Robert purchased and operated the business until his retirement, and it is now run by her grandson.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Medford.

Mrs. Wickman enjoyed her home, decorating and gardening.

Survivors include a son, Robert M., Medford; three grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters. A son, Maurice Wickman, died in 1945 during World War II.

Arrangements: Memory Gardens Mortuary, Medford.

Lynn N. Alexander

The funeral for Lynn N. Alexander will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church in Central Point. The Rev. Jim Clifford will officiate. The graveside service will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in Medford.

Mr. Alexander, 83, of Medford, died Sunday (Oct. 17, 1999) in Medford.

He was born on April 22, 1916, in Miles, Texas.

On July 1, 1941, in San Diego, he married Jane Wynn, who survives.

Mr. Alexander worked for Hughes Aircraft in California for 36 years, retiring in 1980. After his retirement, he owned and operated a machine shop in California.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Norman, Trail, and Richard, Escondido, Calif.; two daughters, Katherine Trombino, Medford, and Mary Jurado, Sams Valley; three sisters, Opal Hartford, Dora Christensen and Hattie Meeker, all in Arizona; four brothers, Milton and Jake, both in California, Carl, in Texas, and Lacy, in Arizona; five grandchildren; and five great-grandsons.

Friends may pay their respects from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Conger-Morris Funeral Directors in Medford.
