Winifred I. Gehr

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Winifred I. Seville Gehr, 64, formerly of Meyers Avenue, died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Skilled Care Unit, Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg.

Born Oct. 2, 1933, in McConnellsburg, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Gladys Bishop Seville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Gehr, in 1995.

She was a homemaker.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by three  daughters, Vicky Swailes of Mercersburg, Pa., Theresa Keebaugh of Hustontown, Pa., and Karlyn Mellott of Needmore, Pa.; one son, Carl T. Lundberg of Keithville, La.; one sister, Jane Hill of Waynesboro; three brothers, Roger Seville of Newville, Pa., Marlin Seville of Muncy, Pa., and Gary Seville of Baton Rouge, La.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Pa. The Rev. Belvy White will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.

Friends may call Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Baltimore Huntington's Disease Center, 600 N. Wolfe St., Meyer 2-181, Baltimore, Md. 21287-7281.

Dorothea C. Oyler

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Dorothea C. Oyler, 89, of 150 S. Edwards Ave., died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at her home.

Born April 23, 1908, in New Benton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Aloysius G. and Mabel A. Hoover Kimpel.

Her husband, Geyer R. Oyler, died in 1986. They were married Feb. 8, 1936.

She was a 1925 graduate of Chambersburg High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg, Legion of Mary and Rosary Society of the church.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary A. Gladden of Washington, D.C.; one son, John M. Oyler of Chambersburg; one sister, Ruth M. Kump of Chambersburg; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Nelson Kimpel, Glen Kimpel and LaWier Kimpel; and two grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev Daniel F. Lawler will officiate. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to in her memory for Masses for the Sick and Elderly, c/o Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.

Boyd C. Bream

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Boyd C. "Bud" Bream, 66, of 271 Alley 1 North, died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Nov. 27, 1931, in Ringgold, he was the son of Margaret Brown Bream of Waynesboro and the late Raymond G. Bream.

He was a 1949 graduate of Waynesboro High School.

He was employed by ABC Network Television, Los Angeles, from the late 1950s until his retirement in 1986. He worked as the manager in Special Services.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955.

He attended Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro.

He was a member of National AARP.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by four sisters, Ella Caraway of Louisville, Ala., Dolores Martin of Waynesboro, Margaret "Peggy" Bowman of Quincy, Pa., and Katrine Izer of Waynesboro; five brothers, Donald Bream and Marvin Bream, both of Rouzerville, Pa., James Bream of Hamlet, N.C., Raymond Bream of Zullinger, Pa., and Mervin Bream of Waynesboro; one stepbrother, Will Dissler of Waynesboro; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a nephew.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. James T. Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, 6041 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, Pa. 17112-1208.

Catherine M. Seilhamer

QUINCY, Pa. - Catherine M. Keller Seilhamer, 80, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of Mount Vernon Terrace, Waynesboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at the nursing home.

Born April 8, 1917, in Guilford Township, Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Ruth Heintzelman Keller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Seilhamer. They were married June 22, 1940.

She was employed at Greyline Stocking Factory, Chambersburg.

She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro; and Augsburg Sunday School Class.

She was a member of South Chapter 2977 AARP and National AARP.

She is survived by two  daughters, Ruth E. Mackey and Barbara J. Stoops, both of Waynesboro; three sisters, Mary Jane Brechbill, Ruth Keller and Janet McCleary, all of Chambersburg; two brothers, Glenn Keller and Samuel Keller, both of Chambersburg; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Harvey Keller.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Donald R. Moul will officiate. Burial will be in Grindstone Hill Cemetery, Guilford Township.

The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Leona E. Wiles

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Leona E. Wiles, 86, a resident of Caledonia Manor, and formerly of 90 Lincoln Road, Chambersburg, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at the nursing home.

Born Feb. 13, 1911, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward W. and Vera Wolff Foreman.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Norman Nicholson in 1963 and Harvey W. Wiles in 1992.

She was employed by the former H.J. Heinz Co. for 10 years, and at the former Penn Hall for 10 years, both in Chambersburg. She retired in 1972.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Chambersburg. She attended Fayetteville Pentecostal Church of God, Fayetteville.

She also was a member of Jolly 60s.

She is survived by one daughter, Faye Kuhn of Chambersburg; three sons, John E. Nicholson and Claude E. Nicholson, both of Chambersburg, and Richard T. Nicholson of Fayetteville; three stepdaughters, Lois Bergenstock of Barstow, Calif., Donna Sanders of Emmitsburg, Md., and Debbie Profis of Harrisburg, Pa.; one stepson, Nelson Wiles of Norristown, Pa.; one sister, Helen Poe of Chambersburg; 12 grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. George S. Mouer Sr. and the Rev. Donald C. Nolder will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Fred L. Kline

MONT ALTO, Pa. - Fred Leroy Kline, 80, of 208 S. Main St., died Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, Pa.

Born Jan. 6, 1917, in Quincy, he was the son of the late James Clayton Kline I and Ethel Rook Kline.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Ridenour Kline, in 1987. They were married May 22, 1937.

He was a 1936 graduate of Quincy High School.

He retired after more than 40 years, as a machine operator at Landis Machine Co. in Waynesboro, Pa. Earlier, he worked at Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro.

He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Mont Alto, and the Men's Bible Class. He taught Sunday school in the Junior High Department, and served as financial secretary and trustee of the church.

He was a member of National AARP.

He is survived by two  daughters, Glenna Jean Poe of Chambersburg and Anne N. Smith of Mont Alto; two sons, Gerald L. Kline of Durham, N.C., and Ronald N. Kline of Chambersburg; one sister, Edna Brewer of Los Angeles; two brothers, Wilbur Kline of Mont Alto and Arnold Kline of California; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Larry L. Kline, in 1979; and two brothers, James Kline II and Archie Kline.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor James C. House will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Russell A. Crouse

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Russell A. Crouse, 80, of 456 W. Fourth St., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Nov. 3, 1917, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late William Jacob and Bertha M. Koons Crouse.

He was a 1936 graduate of Washington Township High School.

He joined the U.S. Army Air Force in 1939, graduated from ACTS at Scott Field, Ill., and Air Corps School of Photography at Lowery Field in Denver.

Following his discharge, he was employed by Kelley's Studio in Hagerstown. He and his wife later operated Crouse Photo Service in Springfield, Mass. After attending Progressive School of Photography in New Haven, Conn., he worked for Penn Studio in Waynesboro. He owned and operated Crouse Studio in Waynesboro until retiring in 1980.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro.

He was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15, William Max McLaughlin VFW Post 695, both of Waynesboro; and National AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred "Millie" Sheffler Crouse, whom he married Sept. 2, 1941; one son, Robert A. Crouse of Waynesboro; four sisters, Mary Long of Waynesboro, Betty Freeman of Quincy, Pa., Clara Helsel of Chambersburg, Pa., and Jean Shifler of Lewes, Del.; two brothers, George Crouse of Shady Grove, Pa., and Paul W. Crouse of Zullinger, Pa.; one grandson; two stepgrandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Damuth and Julia Crouse; and four brothers, Ralph Crouse, Harry Crouse, Richard Crouse and Jacob Crouse.

Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor James T. Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. Military graveside services will be conducted by Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard of Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Warren Gumpert

AMBERSON, Pa. - Warren Gumpert, 81, of 21838 Amberson Road, and formerly of Phoenixville, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born Feb. 26, 1916, in Spring City, Pa., he was the son of the late Clyde and Clara Sassman Gumpert.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nesspor Gumpert, in 1992.

He was a steelworker with Cann and Saul Steel Co., Royersford, Pa., retiring after 27 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Eleanor M. Rambo of Exter, Pa.; two sons, David G. Gumpert of Amberson and Andrew Gumpert of Lansdale, Pa.; two sisters, Caroline "Doll" Sheller of West Chester, Pa., and June Ziegler of Zieglerville, Pa.; two brothers, Richard Gumpert of Spring City and Roy Gumpert of Palmeto, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Karl R. Herman will officiate. Burial will be in Vincent Mennonite Cemetery, Spring City.

Visitation will be Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
