Lula B. Watson, 84, of Cross, died Saturday, September 22, 2007, in the Roper Hospital in Charleston.

Funeral services will be announced by Eutawville Community Funeral Home of Eutawville.

James Dunbar Sr.

James Dunbar Sr., 68, of 318 Whaley Road, Blackville, died Monday, October 29, 2007, at his residence.

Funeral services will be announced by Greeen's Funeral Home of Blackville.

Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sarah Rabb Willingham

Mrs. Sarah Rabb Willingham, 88, wife of the late John Dean Willingham Jr., died Saturday, October 27, 2007.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Orangeburg.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.

Mrs. Willingham was born in Orangeburg, a daughter of the late Calvin Hayne and Frances Wannamaker Rabb. She was a caring and loving person who very much enjoyed others and always put their interests above her own. She especially enjoyed her doll collection. Mrs. Willingham was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church for 44 years.

Survivors include a son, John Dean Willingham III of Greenpond; daughters, Sallie Blackwell of Columbia and Lila Lancaster of Cayce; grandchildren, John Dean Willingham IV and his wife, Hayes of Raleigh, N.C., Amy Turner and her husband, Mark of Charlotte, N.C., Michelle Douthit and her husband, Gene of Sylvester, Ga., Beth Blackwell of Atlanta, Ga., James Boyd Blackwell Jr., Matthew C. Blackwell and his wife, Ginny, all of Columbia, Melanie Baker of Lexington and Josh Powell of Columbia; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, A.L. Bonnett Jr. and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Treski.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Bootsie Bonnett.

Memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, P.O. Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29202.

Adam Murphy Johnson

Funeral services for Adam Murphy Johnson, 116 Camper Wood Road, Vance, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2007, at Greater Unity AME Church, with the Rev. Julius Steed officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery,

Mr. Johnson died Thursday, October 25, at his residence.

Mr. Johnson, son of the late Thomas and Ada Williams Johnson, was born in Vance. He was a member of Unity AME Church for many years, was known as the Peanut Man in the community. He was employed with South Carolina Department of Public Safety for 35 years. Sang with the Gospel Travelers and Son Light Jubilee Gospel Singers for many years.

Survivors include his beloved wife for 60 years, Mrs. Lucile Prezzy Johnson; two daughters, Beatrice Pemberton of Vance and Rosie Armstrong of Holly Hill; one sister, Elizabeth (John) Palmer of Eutawville; three sisters-in-law, Eartha (Julius) Williams, Vance, Zura Johnson and Estell Johnson, both of Charleston; a godson, Larry Jamison; seven grandchildren, five great-grands, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Eutawville Community Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Loretta H. Dawkins

Mrs. Loretta H. Dawkins, 67, 2323 Belleville Road, died Thursday, October 25, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center.

Funeral plans will be announced by Bythewood Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the residence of her husband, Lamar Dawkins, 2323 Belleville Road and at the funeral home.

Mrs. Theresa G. Easley

Mrs. Theresa G. Easley, 58, of 218 Cooter Road, died Friday, October 19, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 27, in the Garden of Prayer Church, 2878 Russell St., with Pastor Ebell Tucker officiating. There will be no viewing.

Mrs. Easley was born December 29, 1949, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Jacob C. Gadson and Mary M. Suber Gadson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy.

Survivors include one son, Johnny Lee Best of Killeen, Texas; one brother, Clyde Gadson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sisters, Francine Gadson of Brooklyn, N.Y., Elaine Gadson of Orangeburg and Michelle (Wilford) Lewis of Suffolk, Va.; one niece, Maisha (Mark) Brooker of Macon, Ga.; three nephews, Ricky Kyon Sumpter of Norfolk, Va., Marcus Wesley Gadson Finklea and Alexander Charles Finklea of Chesapeake, Va.; one grandniece, Anani Brooker of Macon, Ga.; six aunts, three uncles, one great-aunt, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, at Bethea’s Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Friends may call at the funeral home.

Patricia Sanford Smith

Funeral services for Patricia Sanford Smith, 56, of 131 Sanford Drive, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2007, in the Ling Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Smith died October 22, at her residence.

Pat was born December 27, 1951 the daughter of the late Fred Sanford and Mary Jane Britt Sanford. Pat grew up in New York City where she graduated from Louis D. Brandies High School in 1969. She was employed by Citi Bank in New York. She was joined in holy matrimony to Jerry Smith in 1981. Patricia was blessed with two sons, Ja'Kee Christopher and Jermaine Michael. Patricia was currently employed by the Dorchester County School District Four.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, two sons, Ja'Kee Sanford of New York and Jermaine Smith of Johnson City, Tenn.; three godchildren, Jabbar Mason and LaVada Wilson of New York and JaKala Hankerson of St. George; one adopted sister, Denise Seals of St. George; special cousins, Jack Hankerson and Mary Dell Singletary of St. George, Betty Patterson of N.J.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Ling Funeral Home of St. George is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bertha Gilyard

Mrs. Bertha Gilyard, 81, of 1780 Irvin St., died Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.

Funeral plans will be announced by Bethea's Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.

Miss Margie Agieson

Funeral services for Miss Margie Agieson, 54, of 402 Milligan Circle, St. Matthews, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2007, in the Glover's Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Wilbert Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Randolph Cemetery in Holly Hill.

Miss Agieson died Friday, October 19, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg following an extended illness.

Friends may call at Glover's Funeral Home of Orangeburg.

Rudolph David Freeman

Rudolph David Freeman, 33, of 321 Fair Street, Elloree, died Saturday, October 20, 2007, at his residence after an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, in the First Baptist Church of Elloree, with the Rev. C. Clark McCrary III officiating. Burial will be in the Santee Baptist Cemetery, Highway No. 6 in Elloree.

Mr. Freeman was born in Johnson City, Tenn., July 7, 1972, a son of Patricia Brunk Freeman Runions and Rudolph Freeman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elloree and was a retired tree surgeon.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Stinager Freeman of Cincinnati, Ohio; son, Dalton Lee Freeman and a daughter, Madison Gail Freeman, both of Elloree; father, Rudolph Freeman of Elloree; mother, Patricia Freeman Runions and stepfather, Ralph Runions, both of Elloree; three sisters, Tammy Beach Sainz of Elloree, Cindy Carr of Fort Houston, Texas and Sheena Danielle Freeman of Elloree.

Visitation will be held at the home of Tammy Beach Sainz, 369 Hampton Street, Elloree, on Monday, October 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Freeman Children, c/o Tammy Beach Sainz, P.O. Box 372, Elloree, SC 29047.

Fogle-Hungerpiller Funeral Home of Elloree is in charge of arrangements.
