Jonathan Wayne Whitmore

Mr. Jonathan Wayne Whitmore, 44, of Mimosa Lane, North Wilkesboro, N.C., died Thursday, October 18, 2007.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday October 26, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with the Rev. James Little and the Rev. Ronald Howell officiating. Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens

Mr. Whitmore was born January 13, 1963, in Bamberg County, to Joseph and Evelyn Jenkins Whitmore. He was the President and Owner of Foothills Environmental and was a long term member of Sweet Rest Baptist Church in Olar, and a member of Damascus Baptist Church. Mr. Whitmore graduated from Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School in Bamberg and Denmark Technical College in South Carolina.

A son, Zachary Wayne Whitmore preceded him in death.

He is survived by: his wife, Rachel Barnes Whitmore of the home; two daughters, Raven Whitmore, Simone Whitmore, both of the home; one son, Jonathan B. Meeks of North Wilkesboro; four sisters, Joelyn Whitmore, Anglea Midgette both of Aiken, Evelyn Williams of Biloxi, Miss. and Andreal Snell of Orangeburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Thursday

Margie Agieson

Margie Agieson of Marion Gressette Center, St. Matthews, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

Funeral plans will be announced by Glover’s Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the residence of her nephew, Robert Evans, 871 Winding Brook Drive, Cameron, and at the funeral home.

Henry Tyler

Henry Tyler, 65, of 311 Walnut St., Salley, died Friday, October 19, 2007.

Funeral plans will be announced by Fulmer's Funeral Home of Springfield.

Friends may call at the home, 311 Walnut St., Salley or at the funeral home.

Louis Rush

Funeral services for Louis Rush, 60, of 1776 Pineland St., Vance, will be held at noon, Saturday, October 20, 2007, in the Refuge New Calvary Church, with Elder Jimmy L. Bradley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Rush died Tuesday, October 16, at his residence.

Louis M. Rush was born March 24, 1947, to the late Mr. Leroy Rush Sr. and Mrs. Mariah Rush-Void in Charleston. Louis attended Roberts High School in Holly Hill and earned a degree from Denmark Technical College.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Verlee Rush of the home; three daughters, Audrey Jones and Mariah Williams, all of Boston and Lora (Phinazee) Brown of Atlanta; mother, Mariah Rush-Void of Holly Hill; brothers, Harold Rush of Miami, Fla. and Daniel Rush of Holly Hill; sisters, Mary Dunston of New York, Sarah Wilder of High Point, N.C., Mildred Smalls of Boston, Mass., Patricia Zimmerman and Barbara Johnson, of Orangeburg, Daisy Farris of Holly Hill, Jessie Brockington of Atlanta and Babette Cyler of Hampton; eight grandchildren; stepbrothers, s.jpgisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Eutawville Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred Sweatman Utsey

Mildred Sweatman Utsey, 75, of Harleyville and Orangeburg, widow of Wesley Thomas Utsey, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, in the First United Methodist Church of Harleyville, with the Rev. Philip Bostrum officiating. Burial will follow in the Harleyville Cemetery.

Mrs. Utsey was born May 18, 1932, in St. George, a daughter of Fitzhugh Lee and Eulalie Knight Sweatman. She was retired from American Yard Products in Orangeburg and was former owner of the Corner Grocery Store in Harleyville. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Harleyville. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Bobby Sweatman, Buster Sweatman, Mary Taylor and Ruth Byrd.

Survivors include a son, Michael Walker Utsey and his wife, Jewel Bochette of Hays, N.C.; three grands, Joy (Russell) Walker of Harleyville, Thomas Utsey of Hays, N.C., and Suzanne (Rimley) Fitzwater of Lenoir, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Amberly and Alexis Walker; brother, Fitzhugh L. (Martha) Sweatman of St. George; sisters, Edna (Wilson) Judy of Bowman, Evelyn (Carlisle) Avant and Barbara Sundreun, both of St. George and Margaret (Charles) Spell of Smoaks.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at Bryant Funeral Home of St. George.

Ms. Linda High

Ms. Linda High, 48, of 127 Umbrella Lane, Eutawville, died Monday, October 15, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services will be announced by Eutawville Community Funeral Home of Eutawville.

Mrs. Sallie Teague Dannelly

Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie Teague Dannelly, 81, of 2663 Cordova Road, Cordova, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 in the First Southern Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bedford Landers and the Rev. Marvin Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Walter Sligh, Allan Fanning, Mike Booth, Robert Shuler, Frank Estes and Payton White.

Mrs. Dannelly died Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Memorials may be made to First Southern Methodist Church, 2690 North Road, Orangeburg, SC 29118 or Southern Methodist College, 541 Broughton Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115.

Dukes-Harley Funeral Home of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jean B. Maybry Limehouse

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean B. Maybry Limehouse, 89, of 2150 Broughton St., will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 in the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Luke Maybry and the Rev. Ben Herlong officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Abbott Best, Robert Jennings III, Steve Osborne, J. West Summers, Jack Flintom, John Maybry III, John Maybry IV, Randolph Smith, Dr. Sidney Fulmer, Leon Knight and Jim Hall.

Mrs. Limehouse died Oct. 13.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Mrs. Mamie G. Hoff Reeves

Mrs. Mamie G. Hoff Reeves, 91 of Cottageville, widow of Thomas Lewis Reeves Sr., died Friday, September 21, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 23, at the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home with burial in the Cottageville Cemetery.

Mrs. Reeves was born September 26, 1915, in Cottageville, a daughter of the late George Washington Hoff and Viola Sullivan Hoff. She was one of the oldest members of Cottageville Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Thomas L. Reeves Jr., and wife Ute of Cottageville; two daughters, Cindy Pritcher and husband Gary of Holly Hill and Myona Bishop and husband, George (Skip) of Garner, N.C.; three grandsons, Blain Pritcher of Columbia, Ronnie Reeves and wife, Gena of Cottageville, Jason Reeves and wife, Katrina of Cottageville; one granddaughter, Sandra Bowen and husband, Rocky of Apex, N.C. and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by one grandson, Richard Dean Reeves.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul St., Walterboro.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Odyssey Health Care Hospice, 5965 Core Road, Suite 603, North Charleston, SC 29406; American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060 or to Cottageville Baptist Church, 11643 Cottageville Hwy., Cottageville, SC 29435.

Edward Tyler

Funeral services for Edward Tyler, 84, of Honey Ford Community, Denmark, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007. in the Honey Ford Baptist Church, Denmark. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Tyler died Monday, September 17, in the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

He was born on February 15, 1923, to the late Norris and Naomi Hightower Tyler in Bamberg County. He attended the Salem Lime School in Bamberg County. At an early age he joined the Honey Ford Baptist Church and later became a member of the Eden Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as the assistant chairman of the Deacon Board, President of Eden Male Chorus and a member of the Eden Mass Choir. During WWII "Red" as he was known to his many friends served his country with honors while in the U. S. Navy and received a honorable discharge. He was the co-owner of the old Texaco Service Station in Denmark. Red retired from the Denmark Cole-Cola plant. Later working as a truck driver for Ray Farms and ARCO Trucking Co.

Surviving are his wife of the home, Mary McMillan Tyler; two daughters, Nichol Tyler and Gwendolyn Moncrieft both of Denmark; two sons, Edward Chauncey Tyler of Greenville and Herman Sanders of Orangeburg; four brothers; Dea. Norris Tyler, Dea. Ruben Tyler, Leon Tyler and Luther Tyler, all of Denmark; four sisters, Arnitha Butler of Orangeburg, Valetha Tyler of Maryland, Betty Gaither of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Janie Ruth Zellars of Conway; 17 grandchildren, one of which is in the U.S. military, Atory McMillan, 16 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren, a special nephew, Dea. Mark Tyler of Denmark; five adopted children, John Wesley Hicks, Keith Porter, Jeffrey Porter, Samuel Lamont Porter and LaTonya Porter.

Friends may call at the residence.

Carroll Mortuary will be in charge of the services.
