Funeral services for Joyce Juanita Harley Bodiford, 67, of Williston, SC will be held three p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Barnwell County Memorial Park by the airport. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home in Williston.

Memorials may be sent to His Way Baptist Church Building Fund P.O. Box 261 Windsor, SC 29856. Joyce passed away Sunday, August, 21, 2011.

Born in Allendale, SC, she was a daughter of the late Alexander “Buck” Campbell Harley and Mattie Ray Harley. She worked for Piggly Wiggly as a cashier for many years and later worked at various factories until her retirement. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and faithful member of His Way Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Larry Bodiford of the home; daughter, Patsy (Julian) Wall of New Market, TN; sons, Joey (April) Carroll, Edward Carroll, all of Williston; sisters, Mary (Billy) Fail, Betty Gantt, Eva (Earl) Brown; brother, J. C. Harley; mother-in-law, Louise Bodiford; grandchildren, Edward Lane (Erin) Carroll, Jay (Kari) Wall, Courtney Dawn Carroll, Brandon Chapman and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Creech, Patricia Harley; brothers, Cap Harley and Esley Harley.

Funeral services for Eugenia “Jean” Dyches Lee, 88, of Blackville, SC will be held two p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2011 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with burial in the Blackville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Blackville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 217, Blackville, SC 29817 or the Blackville Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 365, Blackville, SC 29817. Mrs. Lee died Monday, September 5, 2011.

Born in Blackville, SC, she was the widow of Henry E. Lee, the daughter of the late Malcolm L. Dyches and Gladys Eugenia Dyches and was the step-daughter of the late Elvira G. Dyches. She was a member of Blackville First Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a son, Terry Lee of Blackville; daughters, Linda Cheseldine of Richmond, VA, Sandra Hicks of Woodstock, GA; three grandsons, Tyler (Sharon) Cheseldine, Jeff (Denise) Cheseldine, Brennen (Krissy) Hicks; seven great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Joyce (Gerald) Harley.

A memorial service for Gary Clarence Blake, 73, of Barnwell, SC will be held four p.m., Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Barnwell. The family will receive friends after the service at the church or other times at the home. Memorials may be sent to Infinity Hospice of Aiken, 220 Richland Avenue West, Aiken, SC 29801 or the National Parkinson Foundation, 1501 Northwest 9th Avenue, Miami, FL 33136-1494. Mr. Blake passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was a son of the late Clarence Grover Blake and Laura Annette Bradley Blake. He was a supervisor with General Motors in Lockport, NY and retired as plant supervisor from American Yard Products in Orangeburg. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Barnwell.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Wood Blake of the home; a son, Gary Richard (Bonnie) Blake of Ransomville, NY; daughters, Elizabeth Faye Lancaster of Ft. Pierce, FL, Teresa Frances (Sam) Bryant of Jupiter, FL, Tammy Marie (Danny) Wall of Barnwell, Vickie Blake Kizer of Orangeburg, SC, Cindy Frances Blake Fascella of Deerfield Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Albert) Strasburg of Winter Haven, FL. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Danny Wall of Barnwell and to Candy, Tina and Natisha of Infinity Hospice for all of the kindness and care they have shown to Mr. Blake and family. He was predeceased in death by sons, William Gary Blake, Robert Gregory Lancaster, Edward Gary Blake; sister, Claudia Faye Blake; and a niece, Wendy Sue Foster.

Funeral services for John Edward “J.E.” Hutson, 79, of Blackville, SC will be held three p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Pinehill Freewill Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith, Hwy. 3, Blackville, SC with burial in Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Wednesday, July 27th, at the home of Kaye and Edward Givens, Blackville, SC. Mr. J. E. passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at his home.

Born in Barnwell County, he was a son of the late Isaiah Hutson and Rodell Gleaton Hutson. He was a member of Pinehill Freewill Baptist Church of the Pentecosal Faith, retired from Dayco and served in the National Guard.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Lucy Davis Hutson; daughters, Rita (Rockie) Roberts, Kaye (Edward) Givens all of Blackville; sisters, Adelle McKenna of Healing Springs, Virginia Miller of Neeses, Joann Adams of Aiken; brother, Isaiah “Buster” Hutson, Jr. of Springfield; grandchildren, Hope (Michael) Maxwell, Hollie (Laverne) Fail, Ryndi Givens Joyner, Edwards Givens, III; great grandchildren, Betheney Maxwell, Johnathan Maxwell, Haley Moski, Conner Fail and Danielle Glass. He was predeceased by brothers, Laverene, Lonell, Joseph “Sumter” and Woodrow Hutson.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday and other times at the home of Virginia and Leonard Mills. Memorials may be sent to Rosemary Baptist Church, 14370 Main Street, Williston, SC 29853. Sylvia passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011.

Born in Allendale County, SC she was a daughter of Virginia Mills and the late Frances O. Gunnells. She was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church where she was active in Bible School, the Youth Department, the Benevolence Committee and sang in the church choir. She attended Orangeburg Technical College and was an in-home health care provider.

Survivors include her husband, Scotty Sylvester Norris and a daughter, Jessica Ann Floyd, both of the home; mother and step-father, Virginia and Leonard Mills of Elko, SC; sisters, Mary Lynn
(Andy) Rickenbaker of Cordova, SC, Janice Shroud of West Columbia; step-sisters, Ginger (Bruce) Dyer of Chapin and Monica Mills of Eastover; a brother, Jennings Rountree of Charleston, SC; a number of nieces and nephews; a dear friend, Rebecca Armstrong and her loving church family.

Funeral Service for William Eric Bodiford, 37, of Long Branch Community, SC will be held eleven am Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Barnwell First Baptist Church with the Reverend David O’Donnell officiating, burial will be at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 37, Elko, SC. The family will receive friends from five to eight pm Tuesday August 9th at Folk Funeral Home, Williston. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, c/o Carol Ann Hurst, 665 Hidden Valley Trail, Barnwell, SC 29812. Eric passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011.

Born in Augusta, Georgia, Eric was a son of Jerry Bodiford and the late Deborah Kay Sutton Bodiford. He worked for Bridgestone Firestone and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Tonya Harris Bodiford and daughter, Abigayle Aspen Bodiford of the home; father and step-mother, Jerry and Suzanne Bodiford of Barnwell; paternal grandmother, Louise Dyches Bodiford of Long Branch; maternal grandmother, Ann Sutton of Augusta, Ga.; a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandfathers, Calhoun Bodiford and Bill Sutton.

Ministries, 1391 Davis Road, Brooksville, MS 39739. Mr. Brubaker passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at his home.

Born in Harrisonburg, VA he was a son of Howard Brubaker and Miriam Heatwole Brubaker. He was a farmer and a member of the Barnwell Mennonite Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Weaver Brubaker of the home; his parents of Olar, SC; daughter, Robin (Jordan) Ehst of Lancaster, PA; sons, Benjamin Allen (Charity) Brubaker of Dayton, VA, William Brubaker of Due West, SC, Thomas Brubaker of the home; grandchildren, Catherine Brubaker, Anna Brubaker and Aaron Ehst; sister, Phyllis (Dale) Mast of Batesburg, SC; brothers, Myron (Jane) Brubaker of Olar, SC, Steven (Cynthia) Brubaker of Guys Mills, PA and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rena passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011.

Born in the Edisto Community of Williston, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Monroe Porter and Minnie Rouis Porter and was married to the late H. C. Hair. She was a member of Williston First Baptist Church and the Rebekah Sunday School class where she served as treasurer for more than 40 years. She retired as a seamstress from Skyline Manufacturing Company. She was known throughout Williston and surrounding areas for her love of baking; she was famous for her thin layer chocolate cakes. She was always concerned about her children and family who she loved so dearly.

Survivors include her daughter, Melba “Nan” Miner of North Augusta, SC; son, Jerry (Annette) Hair of Williston; grandchildren, Benji (Cindy) Smith, Suzanne (Gregg) Creech, Terri Hair, Kinley Hair; great grandchildren, Morgan Creech, Whitney (Casey) Rogers, Robin (Brian) Mathewson and Ashley Smith; great great granddaughter, Samantha Mathewson. She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Hair; sisters, Connie Kinard, Quilla Hall, Norma Bolen Smith, Pearl Givens; brothers, Charlie Hubert Porter, Robert A. “Tick” Porter, John P. Porter and a son-in-law, Clay Miner.

Mrs. Annie Mae passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011.

Born in Blackville, SC she was the daughter of the late Thurman Judson Still, Sr. and Connie Sue Grubbs Still. She was a 1944 graduate of Blackville High School, was married to the late Jesse Lee Sweat and formerly worked for Palm Beach Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church, the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class, the Wise Old Owl Club and Woodmen of the World. Mrs. Annie Mae was a woman of few needs, a huge heart and a strong faith.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Tim Weegar of Evans, GA; grandchildren, Andrew Michael Hromyak and Benjamin Joseph Hromyak nieces and nephew, Lillian (Jack) Welch, Thurman J. Still, III, Patty Still and a special family, Emory and Dianne Bodiford and Deedie Birt Jowers and family. She was predeceased by a brother, Thurman J. Still, Jr.

Born in Barnwell County, SC, she was a daughter of the late George W. Proctor and Mary Estelle Black Proctor VanVorst. She was a member of Williston Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Women and retired from Fairfax County, VA school system as a baker in the cafeteria.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, James F. “Jim” Carr; daughter, Karen (Raymond) Peloquin of Holiday, FL; son, Wayne T. Carr, of Williston, SC; grandchildren, Lonnie Noel Peloquin, Monique (Chris) Sharee Houk, Crystal Nicole Carr, Jason Aaron Carr; great grandson, Preston Lee Jones; sister, Margaret Martin of Newport News, VA; brother, Richard L. VanVorst of Monet, MO and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Francis Blume and brothers, George and John Proctor.
