WAXAHACHIE – Funeral services for Ora Nettie Prater, 84 of Waxahachie, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2001 in the chapel of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home with Rev. Grady Cashion officiating.
Born on Nov. 28, 1916 in LaRue, the daughter of Albert and Hattie Oliver Butler, she passed away May 22, 2001 at Pleasant Manor Living Center.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Wayne S. and Judie F. Prater of Cedar Hill and Alvis C. and Elaine Prater of Waxahachie; four grandchildren Laura, Deborah, Jeff and Greg; five great-grandchildren Heather, Kyle, Matthew, Wesley and Whitney; brother Oliver Butler of Euless and sister Elva Mae Sirpless of Bardwell.
Pallbearers were John Powers, Greg Prater, Jeff Prater, Mike Waylander, Sylvan Beasley and Greg Adams.
Interment followed in the LaRue cemetery under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home.

Paul England, Jr.
May 6, 1935 - May 30, 2001

ROCKETT - Graveside services for Paul England Jr., 66 of Rockett, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2001 at Ft. Worth National cemetery.
Born May 6, 1935 in Canton, the son of Paul W. and Flora Hearn England, he passed away May 30, 2001 in Rockett.
He is survived by his wife Ann England of Rockett; daughter Alonda McQueen of Ferris; sister Janis Cox of Heath; and grandchildren John Ryan Theobalt, Jack Russell Theobalt and Aimie Theobalt.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Red Oak Funeral Home, Berdon Byrum.

Ruth Helen Gilbert
June 2, 2001

WAXAHACHIE - Funeral services for Ruth Helen Gilbert, of Waxahachie, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Richard Reed officiating.
The daughter of Ray and Pearl Keller, she passed away June 2, 2001 at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie.
Preceded in death by her parents, brother Ray Keller, sister and brother-in-law Emma and Louis Willis; she is survived by her husband Harry of Waxahachie; three sons and daughters-in-law Harry K. Gilbert and wife DeWanna of Winnsbord, La., Ray L. Gilbert and wife Sally of Aledo and Eddie A. Gilbert and wife Debbie of Waxahachie; sister-in-law Peg Keller of Walnut Bottom, Penn.; and grandchildren Jeremy A. Williford of Houston, Cheyenne C. Gilbert, Sierra M. Gilbert, Zachary Gilbert, Hollye Gilbert and Nicklas Gilbert.
Pallbearers were William Gilbert, Dave Reid, Don Coursey and Vernon Roper.

Interment followed in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

Ernest James Nelson Jr.
Dec. 8, 1964 - June 2, 2001

FERRIS - Graveside services for Ernest James Nelson Jr., 36 of Ferris, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at Ferris Memorial Park North with Dr. Bobby Adams officiating.
Born Dec. 8, 1964 in Houston, the son of Ernest James Sr. and Saundra Ellis Nelson, he passed away June 2, 2001 in Ferris.
Preceded in death by his father; he is survived by his mother Saundra Hill of Ferris; daughters Chelsea Nelson of Ferris and Courtney Nelson of Ferris; sisters Nelda Larson of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Beverly Teague of Ferris, and Peggy Graham of Ferris; brother David Nelson of Dallas; ex-wife Shalonda Nelson of Ferris; step-mother Nell Fulton of Ferris; step-fathers Charles Fulton of Ferris and Henry Earl Hill of Ferris; and step-sister Deborah Curry of Ferris.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.

Wilson Pickard
April 27, 1917 - June 3, 2001

OVILLA - Funeral services for Wilson Pickard, 84 of Ovilla, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ovilla with Rev. James Gilbert and Rev. Duane Dougherty officiating.
Born on April 27, 1917 in Duncanville, the son of Milton and Cora Brooks Pickard, he passed away June 3, 2001 at his residence. He had owned and operated Ovilla Grocery Store since 1944.
Preceded in death by his wife Juanita Pickard on Feb. 21, 1996, four brothers Leon 'Pete' Pickard, George Pickard, Wesley Pickard and Herbert Pickard and three sisters Mildred Porter, Orene Ramsey and Juanita Chambers; he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Billy C. and Ava Pickard of Glenn Heights and Donnie and Karen Pickard of Ovilla; three grandchildren David C. Pickard of Houston, Elizabeth Pevytoe and her husband Jeff of Ovilla and Emily Kennedy and her husband Jeff of Arlington; great-granddaughter Emma Pevytoe; and sister Ruth Opal McElroy of Ovilla.
Interment followed in the Shiloh cemetery under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Born on March 8, 1902 in Indian Territory near Ardmore, Okla., the daughter of James F. and Della 'Pope' Sims, she passed away June 2, 2001.
Preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Charles Edward, step-daughter Lena, sister Charlcie Callahan, sister Vivia Kilpatrick, and three great-grandchildren Kimberly and Robbie Robinson and Joshua Leal; she is survived by her daughter Della (Jean) Robinson and husband Jim of Vista, Calif.; step-daughter Josie Bishop of Florida; brother James Sims of Midland; sister Roberta (Jean) Laird of San Antonio; four grandchildren J.C. Bishop of Florida, Jim Robinson of Weatherford, Vicki Long of West Richland, Wash. and Charles Robinson of Vista; seven great-grandchildren Jamie Everett of Fort Worth, Terry M. Leal of Kennewick, Wash., Crystal Robinson, Cortney Robinson, Catrina Robinson and Joseph Robinson all of Vista and Evan Long of West Richland; and two great-great-grandchildren Ashton and Alexa Everett of Fort Worth.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Born June 14, 1956 in the Cristobal Canal Zone, Panama, the daughter of Bennie Lee Sr. and Peggy Jane Birdwell Beaty, she passed away June 7, 2001 in Midlothian.
Preceded in death by her father; she is survived by her husband Darrell Perry; son Shawn Matthew Perry; mother Peggy Beaty; two brothers James Beaty and Bennie Beaty Jr. and wife Connie all of Midlothian; sister Belinda Mills and husband Randall of Arlington; and two nephews Benjamin Beaty and E.Z. Beaty.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Born on June 6, 1960 in Ennis, the son of Lonnie James Sr. and JoAnn Wilkerson Jenkins, he passed away June 3, 2001 in Powell.
He is survived by his mother JoAnn Wilkerson of Powell; grandmother Odie Mae Wilson of Ennis; aunts and uncles Odell and Jeanie Wilson of Ennis, Larry and Gwendolyn Lamp of Seven Points and Rickey and Becky Wilson of Waxahachie and 13 cousins.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

Betty Joyce Kinkade

Born on Dec. 19, 1942 in Clarksville, the daughter of Howard G. and Mildred E. Dye Bolton, she passed away June 6, 2001 in Rowlett.
She is survived by sons Adam Ballew and wife Beckey of Powell and Mathew Kinkade of Bristol; her parents of Bristol; brother James Bolton and wife Patricia of Florida; and four grandchildren Amanda Hatch, Colt, Logan and Chayenne Ballew.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Red Oak Funeral Home, Berdon Byrum.

Dewey C. Cantrell Jr.

He is survived by his mother Rosa Lee Cantrell of Dallas; wife Jackie Cantrell of Ferris; son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Ma Esther Cantrell of Ferris; nephew Keith D. Gannon of Ferris; niece Stacey R. Gannon of Ferris; stepdaughter Rachel Ann Hock of Ferris; sister Freda Lee Gannon of Dallas; and three brothers Gary W. Cantrell of Irving, Gregory P. Cantrell of Gun Barrel and Richard E. Cantrell of Dallas.
Interment followed in the Bristol cemetery under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.

She passed away June 4, 2001 in Dallas.
Preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Wright and her parents Mr. & Mrs. John Thomas Hall; she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Lynn and Sue Wright of Ferris; sister and brother-in-law Elois and Grady Allen of Bristol and sister-in-law Ila Faye Wright of India.
Interment followed in the Ferris Memorial Park North under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.
