WILMER – Funeral services for Jodie Daniel Hobbs, 96 of Wilmer, were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2001 at Green Funeral Home with Rev. Max Butler officiating.
Born March 22, 1905 in Crisp, the son of Joe and Mary Etter DeFoe Hobbs, he passed away June 29, 2001 at Park Manor Nursing Home in DeSoto.
Preceded in death by his wife Pauline Hobbs and his parents; he is survived by his daughters Mary Evelyn Davis of New Camey and Peggy McClain of Wilmer; son Jodie Ray Hobbs of Ovilla; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were David Hobbs, Eric Hobbs, Dale McClain, Scott McClain, Billy Bennett and Lawrence Shue.
Memorials may be made to Vitas Health Care, 8585 Stemmons Freeway Suite 700 South Tower, Dallas, Texas 75247.
Interment followed in the Trinity cemetery in Wilmer under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.

William Carl Holder
Jan. 23, 1908 – June 28, 2001

WAXAHACHIE – Graveside services for William Carl Holder were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2001 at Waxahachie City cemetery with Rev. Jerry Holder officiating.
Born Jan. 23, 1908 in Seymour, the son of W.B. and Ollie Holder, he passed away June 28, 2001 at Pleasant Manor Care Center.
Preceded in death by his parents, son, four brothers and eight sisters; he is survived by his son Jerry Holder and wife Wilma of Waxahachie; grandchildren Amanda Shirley, James, Jasmine, Douglas and Michael Holder, Amber Adams and Troris Adams.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

Glen Joseph Kyser
March 5, 1934 – June 26, 2001

COMBINE – Funeral services for Glen Joseph Kyser, 67 of Combine, were held at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2001 at Green Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Moody officiating.
Born March 5, 1934 in Dallas, the son of Clarence and Beth Wingo Kyser, he passed away June 26, 2001 at V.A. Medical Center in Temple.
Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Dora Sue Morris and Betty Aston and brother Clarence Kyser; she is survived by her daughters Glenda Kyser of Sanger, Joyce Kyser of Dallas, Peggy Hogan of Italy and Patricia Miller of Combine; ex-wife Josephine Kyser of Sanger; sisters Mary Beth Wilson of Mesquite and Dorothy Fethkenher of Arlington; and brothers David Kyser of Ennis and Pat Kyser of Ennis.
Interment followed in the D.F.W. National cemetery in Dallas under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.

Lillian Bell Stanfield
Aug. 1, 1915 – June 26, 2001

ENNIS – Funeral services for Lillian Bell Stanfield, of Ennis, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2001 at the Waxahachie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Steven officiating.
Born on Aug. 1, 1915 in Shawnee, Okla., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bell, she passed away June 26, 2001.
Preceded in death by her husband Harry M. Stanfield and brother Richard Bell; she is survived by three sisters Lemmie Tom Hunstable of Lancaster; Josephine Hare of Spokane, Wash. and Lanora Yoffee of Overland Park, Kan.; three brothers Johnny Bell of Trinidad, James Bell of Waxahachie and Freddy Bell of Venus; and aunt Minnie Arnn of Dallas.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.

Collin James Borders
Jan. 8, 1989 – July 12, 2001

RED OAK – Funeral services for Collin James Borders, 12 of Red Oak, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2001 in the Ovilla Church Nazarene.
Born Jan. 8, 1989 in Dallas, the son of Mark A. Borders and Julie Outlaw, he passed away July 12, 2001 in Waxahachie.
He is survived by his father of Ovilla and mother Julie Harold of Red Oak; grandfathers Ray Borders of Cedar Hill and Gerald Outlaw of Duncanville; grandmother Ada Outlaw of DeSOto; sisters Kristen Borders of Red Oak and Kailey Harold of Red Oak; step-father Ray Harold of Red Oak and step-mother Jena Borders of Ovilla and step sisters Hallie and Claire Davidson of Ovilla.
Interment followed in the Red Oak cemetery under the direction of Red Oak Funeral Home, Berdon Byrum.

Ruby J. Childress
July 8, 2001

WAXAHACHIE – Funeral services for Ruby J. Childress, 87, were held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2001 at the Waxahachie City cemetery.
Born in Reagor Springs, she passed away July 8, 2001 in Merriam, Kansas after a brief illness.
Precede in death by her husband Willard Childress; she is survived by her daughter Nancy Seelen of Kansas City, Mo.; son Robert Childress of St. Louis, Mo.; grandson David Seelen of Kansas City, Mo.; and her sister Mabel Freeman of Tyler.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Sara Alice Cunningham
Oct. 16, 1917 – July 12, 2001

MESQUITE – Funeral services for Sara Alice Cunningham, 83 of Mesquite, were held as a private service.
Born Oct. 16, 1917 in Farmersville, she passed away July 12, 2001 in Red Oak.
She is survived by her nephew Steve Chapman of Red Oak; nieces Kaye Cossett of Massachusetts, Melva Southerland of Red Oak and Janie Aykroyd of San Antonio.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Red Oak Funeral Home, Berdon Byrum.

Herbert Harrison Dodd
Feb. 23, 1934 – July 11, 2001

BRISTOL – Funeral services for Herbert Harrison Dodd, 67 of Bristol, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2001 in the Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Hwy. Chapel with Dr. James Bass officiating.
Born Feb. 23, 1934 in Sulphur Springs, the son of Herbert and Inez Dodd, he passed away July 11, 2001 at his home.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister Marcy Barnes; he is survived by his wife Arnetha Dodd; sons Alan Dodd and wife Sandi, and Bruce Dodd and wife LeAnne; grandchildren Alan Dodd Jr., Christie Fondon, Jennifer Dodd, Bruce Dodd Jr., Brooke Dodd, Brandi Dodd, Jason Lenamond, Amy Wilson, Katy Wilson and eight great-grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Sparkman/Hillcrest in Dallas.

Edwin Willis Hooper
May 4, 1934 – July 15, 2001

ENNIS – Cremation for Edwin Willis Hooper, 67 of Ennis, was done at Whispering Pines Cremation Service in Edgewood.
Born May 4, 1934 in Corsicana, the son of Willis and Lois Beaird Hooper, he passed away July 15, 2001 at Ennis Regional Hospital.
Preceded in death by his parents; he is survived by his wife Juanita Hooper of Bristol; sons Mark Hooper of Houston and Randy Hooper of Waxahachie; daughter Diana Holy of Ennis; sister Melba Reeves of Palestine and six grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.

Nora Florence Hudson
May 31, 1934 – July 10, 2001

GARLAND – Graveside services for Nora Florence Hudson, 67 of Garland, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2001 at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas with Robert Winston Hudson, Ernest Taylor Hudson and Richard Hudson officiating.
Born on May 31, 1934 in Longview, she passed away July 10, 2001.
She is survived by her daughter Vonda and husband Jack Hutchings of Ferris; son Robert W. Hudson Jr. and daughter-in-law Karen of San Antonio; daughter Deborah K. McPherson and son-in-law Claude Jr. of Kaufman; daughter Carol A. Rahmani and son-in-law Mohammed of Killeen; son Ernest T. Hudson of Houston; daughter Bellinda Luther and son-in-law Gregg of Chattanooga, Tenn.; son Richard W. Hudson Sr. and daughter-in-law Lois of Plano and uncle Joe Bailey Williams of Cunningham.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.

Gwenlyn D. Magness

Born on July 23, 1935 in Irving, she passed away July 10, 2001.
She is survived by her husband Morris Magness of Bristol; daughter Pashia Blalock of Bristol; sons Donnie Magness of Irving, Lonnie Magness of Red Oak and Ronnie Magness of Bristol; stepson Tommy Magness of Ennis; brother Plumer Brown of Dallas; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and two great-step-grandchildren.
Interment followed in the Bristol cemetery under the direction Green Funeral Home in Ferris.
