Donald Lee Whisenant
Donald Lee Whisenant, 52, of Marble Falls died Nov. 15, 2004 in Fredericksburg. Born on Feb. 14, 1952 in Midland he was the son of Wilburn Laverne Whisenant and Caryle Mae Jennings.
Funeral services were held Nov. 20 at H.O.M.E. Church with Bro. Greg Steele officiating.
Interment was in Driftwood cemetery.
Survivors include his daughters Jenny Kostka of Johnston, Colo., Kandy Swanson of Hudson, Colo. and Carly Whisenant of Memphis, Tenn.; brother Dennis Whisenant of Marble Falls; sisters Linda Whisenant of Johnson City and Laverne Whisenant Pease of Port O'Connor; and two grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents.

Verlie Stroud
Verlie Stroud died Nov. 21, 2004, with his loving wife of 30 years and his family by his side. A memorial service was held Nov. 23 in the Kingsland Community Church.
He was born April 1, 1924, in Carthage, SD.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Inez Morgan Stroud, his sisters Margueritte Lorenz, Bernita Schultze and Dorothy Van Wyhe.
Survivors include: Elva Tallman Ewer Stroud of Marble Falls, his wife; Donald Stroud and wife Shirley of Carthage, SD, his brother; Eulala Thompsonof St. Charles, Ill., his sister; Althea Rowan and husband Robert (Bob) of Horseshoe Bay, Bret (Les) and wife Darla of Great Falls, Mont., Randy Ewere and wife Mary of Stevensville, Mont., Willie (Mike) Morgan and wife Betty of Boonesville, Ind., his stepchildren; eight granchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society or Kingsland Community Church.
Arrangements were directed by Clements-Wilcox of Marble Falls.
Raymon Eugene Johnson
Raymon Eugene Johnson, 82, of Tow, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at the V.A. Hospital in Kerrville. A graveside service was held Friday, at the Tow cemetery, with Rev. Jerald Moore officiating.
Born on August 15, 1922, to Etta Angeline (Cates) and John Eugene Johnson in Henrietta, Texas, he resided in Tow for 19 years and was formerly of Tyler, Texas.
Employed as a manager for Kentucky Fried Chicken for 14 years, he served as a U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II and was married
to Norma Elizabeth (Pyle) on March 16, 1946, in Mobile, Ala.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Gladys Sutton, and one brother, Bill Johnson.
Survivors include: Norma Johnson of Tow, his wife; Larry Ray Johnson and wife Nell of Houston, Tommy Jay Johnson of Province Town, Mass., his sons; and Kyle Ryan Johnson and Kristin Elizabeth Johnson, his two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.

J.C. (Red) Baker
J.C. (Red) Baker of Kingsland died Nov. 22, 2004. Visitation was Friday at Putnam Funeral Home; graveside services were Saturday at Lakeland Hills memorial park in Burnet County, with the Rev. Jack Wyburn officiating.
Born Jan. 2, 1928, in Elmer, Okla., to Charlie and Callie (Hinkle) Baker, he married
Anna Jo Hafer on Sept. 15, 1947, in Vernon, Texas. They moved to the Hill Country after his retirement from Valero Energy Corporation in 1983. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and spent two months relaxing and fishing for fresh water salmon at the Navaho Dam.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Survivors include: Anna Jo Baker of Kingsland, his wife; Johnnie Max Baker and his wife, Annette of Floresville, his son; Marsha Lynn Leffler and her husband Harvey of Buffalo, Minn., his daughter; Dustan Baker and his wife Cindy of Helotes, Scott Baker and his wife Tracie, also of Helotes, Ryan Simmang and his wife Crystal of Montrose, Minn., and Wendy Leffler of Buffalo, Minn., his grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; Werenth and Stanley Baker of Vernon, his brothers; and Patsy Dean Armstrong of Burkburnett, Texas and Bobbie Lee Burkett of Fort Worth, his sisters.

Margaret M. Garig
Margaret M. Garig, 91, of Kingsland, Texas, died Nov. 27, 2004, in Llano. A memorial service will be held at the Marble Falls Kingdom Hall on Morman Mills Road at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, with Bro. Herman Boone of Lubbock, Texas, officiating.
Born March 31, 1913, at Silver Creek, Neb., to Andrew and Marie Hug, she was married
to Frank R. Garig on July 10, 1955, in California. They had lived in Kingsland since 2002, coming from Lamesa. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, she was a dedicated Bible teacher for 57 years, and they both were associated with the Marble Falls congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include: Frank R. Garig of Kingsland, her husband of 49 years; Charles Sprague and wife Lana of Austin, Ronald Sprague and wife Elizabeth of Oregon, her sons; Marlena Cardinal of California, her daughter; Mark, Steven, Laurie, Travis, Jana, Scott, and Maria, her grandchildren; Tiana, Jerrica, Kaela, Jeremy, and Chaz, her great-grandchildren.

Hugo Ethelmer Naumann
Hugo Ethelmer Naumann, 81, of Mountain City, died Sept. 30, 2004.
Funeral service was held Oct. 3 at Clements-Wilcox Chapel in Marble Falls with Pastor Bill McCormick officiating. Interment to follow at Haynie Flat cemetery. Born Sept. 15, 1923 in Spicewood, Hugo was the son of Otho Carl and Nellie (Cox) Naumann.
Survivors include his daughter Gloria Naumann of Spicewood, daughter Lisa Gatlin and son-in-law Allen Krzywonski of Mountain City, son and daughter-in-law Hugo D. and Mary Naumann of Aledo, and brother Houghton Naumann of Spicewood, his grandchildren Shannon and Stuart Kerley, Holly Gatlin, Hugo Bradford Naumann and Taylor Naumann .
Also survived by other relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Otho Carl and Nellie Naumann.

Sarah Martin Hays
Sarah Martin Hays, 70, of Horseshoe Bay, passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 at her residence. She is survived by her daughters, Cheri Hays Perez, of Mexico, and Connie Hays Jones of Houston, grandchildren: Alex Perez and Zach Jones. Memorial services were held at Oct. 2, 2004 at the Church of Horseshoe Bay.

Mahan
Dorothy Virginia Mahan, long-time resident of Kingsland, passed away June 9, 2004 at the Heart Hospital of Austin. She was 81.
She was born in Canton, Ohio on February 2, 1923 to Copper D. Davis and Patricia C. (Crawford) Davis.
Dorothy had been a resident of Kingsland since 1965, coming here from Houston. She had worked for Avon Cosmetics as a district manager for a number of years. She had been a member of the Kingsland Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer with the Women's Crisis Center in Marble Falls.
Her survivors include her son, Milton James MahanII and wife Dianne of Kingsland; one brother, Bob Glassburn of California; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services were held June 12 in the chapel of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorn Funeral Home in Kingsland. Interment followed at Kingsland cemetery, officiated by Rev. Bruce Clifton.
Pallbearers were George Preston, Bobby Preston, Mike Fergson, Tony Guerra, Alan Wagner, and Harry Bizzell.

Billie Ruth Remington
Billie Ruth Remington, 79, of Horseshoe Bay passed away on March 26, 2004 in Burnet. Graveside services were held March 29 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.
She was born to Bill and Ruby Purdue Vaughn on Nov. 1, 1924 in Tyler. She worked in banking and served as a secretary during her tenure and she attended Kingsland Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband Warren A. Remington of 54 years and her son; Randy Remington and his wife Lisa of Horseshoe Bay and daughter; Marsha Tadlock and her husband Mike of Little Rock and her grandchildren; Nicolas Remington and Madeline Remington and P. Michele Tadlock and Terri Kaye Bearden and Amy Beth Tadlock and great-grandchildren; Heather and Michael Bearden.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother; Buddy Vaughn.

Howard L. Ellett
Howard L. Ellett, 82, of Burnet passed away March 24, 2004 in Burnet. Graveside services were held March 27 in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
Mr. Ellett was a retired plumber with Hoover Construction Co. and before that he served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was born to Jim and Elizabeth Gibbs Ellett on March 8, 1922 in Burnet County.
He is survived by his children; Lynn Christian and her husband Jerry of Burnet and Debra Lynch and her husband Neal of Bertram and Shirley Cardwell and her husband Bill of Marble Falls and Billy Ellett and his wife LaTona of Johnson City and 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Diane Marie Spicher
Diane Marie Spicher, 59, of Highland Haven, died March 21, 2004.
She was born November 15, 1944 in Mercedes. She graduated from La Feria High School in 1961.
She moved to Canby, Oregon in 1982 where she owned and operated Lamkin Specialty Products for over 16 years. Mrs. Spicher retired in 1998 and motorhomed the USA until 2001 settling in Highland Haven where she became an avid gardener, surrounding her home with beautiful flowers. Her many other interests included traveling, cooking, and decorating. She was employed by the Marble Falls ISD, working at the high school in the Adult Career Education Department.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Genevieve LaFond Myers, and by brothers, Jimmy Myers and Larry Myers.
Survivors include: Husband Robert M. Spicher; stepchildren Linda, Jim, John and Christine Spicher; brothers Rex Myers and wife Shirley of Canby, Oregon and Tom Myers and wife Teresa of Spicewood; aunts Isabel Raybourn of Boerne and Sybil Spees of Fredericksburg and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

Clopton
Glenda Clopton, 46, of Sweetwater passed away March 23, 2004. Born on August 19, 1957 in Llano to Bernice and Barney Reese. She married
Dale Clopton in 1997 in Llano. She had lived in Sweetwater for the past two years, coming from Llano. She was preceded in death by her father, Barney Reese.
Survivors include her husband: Dale Clopton of Sweetwater; mother: Bernice Reese of Llano; sister: Carol Donahue of Kingsland; brothers: Dennis Reese of Llano, Kenneth Reese of Alice and Larry Reese of Lexington.
Graveside services were held March 27 at Llano City cemetery.
