Linda Kay McDowell Sillito, 53, of Benton City, WA, passed away in her home on April 25th, 2003.
Linda was born on October 20th, in Vancouver, WA and grew up in Washougal, WA. She graduated from Washougal High School in 1967. She then attended BYU and received her MRS. Degree. She also attended CBC and WSU, becoming a certified teacher.
She has lived in the Tri-City area for 26 years and was an Elementary school teacher K-12th grade. She attended the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints in Benton City.
Linda’s children were her pride.
She is survived by her husband - Bryce L. Sillito of Benton City, four sons - Trevor L. Sillito of West Richland, Preston J. Sillito and his wife Catrina, Brendon G. Sillito, and Jordan P. Sillito, all from Benton City, two daughters Tiffany A. Sillito and Kierra L.Sillito of Benton City. Her mother and step father Artice M. and Leonard Balcom of West Richland, Sisters Louise Bush and her husband Richard of Colville, WA and Vicki N. Thurgood and her husband Marvin of West Richland, WA, Brothers John A. McDowell and his wife Charlene of Copalis Beach, WA, and Stephen W. McDowell and his wife Judi of Copalis Beach, WA, Five Grandchildren Makayla N. Sillito, John W. L. Sillito. Kaleb C. Bigelow, Jileesa M. Sillito, and Ethan A. Kneip All of Benton City, daughters of her heart Breane M. Gomez of Richland, WA, and Melissa M. Kneip of Benton City, her close cousin, Mary K Steinmeyer and her husband Gary of Vancouver, WA, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many special friends. Also by her brothers-in-law Donald Sillito and his wife Sandra, Marvin Sillito, and Philip Sillito of Alberta Province, Canada. Sisters-in-law Patricia Streibel and her husband Ted of British Columbia, Dorothy Hart and her husband Charlie of Alberta Province, Canada and Karen Ward and her husband Robert of Mountain Home, ID.
Linda was preceded in death by her Father John L. McDowell and her stepfather Phillip Kowcum.
Sororities - PI LAMBDA THETA and PHI THETA KAPPA Golden Key National Honor Society Graduated WSU Tri Cities Magna Cum Laude.
Visitation will be held on Monday April 28th, 2003, from 4-8pm at Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 29th, 2003 at 2:00pm at the Benton City LDS Chapel with a graveside to follow at the Evergreen cemetery in Benton City, WA.

Josephine Elizabeth Allen

Josephine Elizabeth Allen, 84, of Richland, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare in Pasco.
Josephine was born November 28, 1918, in Ponce De Leon, Missouri and had lived in the Tri-Cities since 1943. She worked for years as a waitress at the Hanford House.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas James Allen, February 16, 1978. She is survived by great-nephew, Randy Carr; great-niece, Cindy Crocker; and numerous other nieces, nephews and a great great-niece.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Irene Mildred Stutheit
August 15, 1921 - April 28, 2003

Irene Mildred (Hammer) Stutheit went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2003, at Kadlec Hospital in Richland, WA at the age of 81. She was born in Hildreth, NE on August 15, 1921, to Simon and Anna (Smith) Hammer. On February 16, 1923, she was baptized in Minden, NE; and confirmed her Christian faith in June, 1935 in Norman, NE. She graduated from Minden High School in May 1939. On March 1, 1942, Irene married Freddie Stutheit at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings, NE.
In 1947 they moved to Richland. After working briefly at Hanford, Irene and her husband, Fred, owned and operated the Fred’s Flying “A” service station at 610 Lee Blvd. in Richland until 1966.
She was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for 44 years where she was a member of the Lydia Guild, Altar Guild, Good Cheer, Prayer Chain, Senior Club, and a Bible study group. One of her favorite pastimes was playing pinochle with her children, grandchildren, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1967. She is survived by her daughter Susan Taylor and her husband John of Auburn, WA, and her son Ricky Stutheit and his wife Shirley of Richland; her beloved grandchildren Mark and Ryan Taylor, Celestine Kuntz, Angela Stutheit; and great-granddaughter Samiah Kuntz.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30, from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Einan’s Funeral Home, Richland. Graveside services will be at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 1 and a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 720 Thayer Blvd., Richland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Kay T. Harvey Jones

Kay T. Harvey Jones
Kay T. Harvey Jones passed away April 26, 2003, at Richland Life Care Center in Richland. She was born on June 12, 1921 to Harry and Martha Solinski in Wostok, Alberta, Canada.
Her family moved to Spokane, WA in 1924 and there she attended St. Aloyious, Holy Names and North Central.
Kay married Mel C. Harvey in 1940. She then married Bruce W. Jones in 1973 and then moved to Richland, WA in 1978. She has been an active member of Christ The King Catholic Church for 25 years.
She is survived by her husband Bruce W. Jones; two daughters, Diana K. Harvey and Eileen L. Rothwell; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her four brothers, John Solinski, Tom Sollars, Harold Solinski and Jim Burchett and one sister Mary Heisig and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 3, 2003 at 12:00 P.M. at Christ the King Catholic Church with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at Holy Cross in Spokane, WA.

Pearl Virginia Anderson

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Pearl Virginia Anderson, 87, of Richland, WA died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick, WA.
Pearl was born to Alonzo and Georgianna (Carter) Hickman on March 1, 1915, in Denver, Colorado. She married Daniel Neil Anderson nearly 64 years ago at her brother, Elroy’s home in Englewood, Colorado. The family came to the Tri-Cities in March 1944.
She was a member of Southside Church, a homemaker, and when her child was young, she was involved in PTA and was active in Cub Scouts. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking and crossword puzzles and was a good listener. She was a follower of Jesus Christ.
Pearl is survived by her husband of 64 years, Dan of Richland; son, James and wife, Linda, of Richland; four grandsons, Andrew Neal, Dwayne Alonzo (Maureen), Clinton Gene, James Ben Daniel (Patti); granddaughter, Tamara Lyn (Vern); and great grandson, Cooper Daniel Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Louis Hickman and Elroy Hickman and her sister, Ella Mae (Hickman) Miller.
Cryptside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2002, in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A reception will follow.
Visitation will be at Einan’s from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, and 8:00 to 9:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Christal Johnnie Allen
February 02, 1961 - June 01, 2002

Our beloved Christal Johnnie Allen, age 41, departed from this life on June 1, 2002, at his home in Richland, Washington. Born to Rev. Franzy Allen and the late Isabelle Allen on February 2, 1961, Johnnie accepted Christ and was baptized at a very young age into the membership of the Morning Star Baptist Church.

Johnnie graduated from Pasco High School in 1979 and attended Columbia Basin College. In 1997, he retired from Fluor Hanford as an electrical substation operator.

Johnnie met Rosa Maria Castillo, his high school sweetheart in 1978 and they were united in Holy Matrimony on November 13, 1982. To this union three beautiful children were born - two sons, Johnnie Corey Allen and Jon Ross Allen, one daughter, Crystal Marie Allen, and two adorable granddaughters, Chyla and Tasia whom he promised to love and protect for all of his life. Johnnie also leaves to cherish sweet memories of him, his father and stepmother, Rev. and Mrs. Franzy Allen, Kennewick WA; two brothers, Franzy Allen Jr., and wife, Tamara, and Clifton Earl Allen of Seattle, WA; six sisters, Indiana Allen, Renton WA, Franzine Curry, Augusta, Georgia, Glenda Allen, Spokane, WA, Deb Banks, and husband, Joe, Banks, West Richland, WA, Sandra Allen-Seals, Federal Way, WA, and Tammy Allen, and her fiance, Thomas Zeigler, Pasco, WA; his father and mother-in-law, Albert and Lucila Castillo, Pasco, WA; three aunts, Loree Stapleton, Mendenhall, MS, Celestine, and Husband, Harry Hill, Pasco, WA, and Naomi Thomas of Seattle, WA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other dear relatives and close friends.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his dear mother, Isabelle Allen, two brothers, Clarence “Brown Sugar” and Bobby Ray Allen.

Johnnie was full of life and took pride in enjoying life. He was loved dearly by his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held Friday, June 7, 2002 at the Morning Star Baptist Church, 631 South Douglas Street, Pasco, WA 99301 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are by Einan's Funeral Home, Richland WA.

Virginia Ann Anderson
July 18, 1948 - December 29, 2001

Virginia "Ginger" Ann Anderson, 53 of Richland, W A passed away on Saturday December 29, 2001 at Kennewick General Hospital after a long and valiant battle with Cancer. Ginger was born in Houston, TX. She resided in the Tri-City area for over 38 years. She was a graduate of Roxboro High School, Roxboro, NC and Columbia Basin College. She also attended Eastern Washington University majoring in business administration. Ginger married Brad Anderson in Richland, WA on August 30, 1969. She worked over 22 years for Dr. Michael Albertini in Richland and made many good friends while there.
Ginger was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan and especially enjoyed the Mariners. Ginger's greatest joy was her family and especially her children and grand children that she so dearly loved. She was a hard worker and possessed an indominatable spirit and dedication to do what was right. Even her illness failed to deter her dedication and love for her family.
She exemplified service above self. Ginger possessed a wonderful singing voice. Her song will remain in my heart forever.
Ginger is survived by: Her husband of 32 years Brad, her three children: Jennifer and husband Jay Clark, Kennewick. Brad Anderson Jr and wife Nicole, Richland. Marni, Richland. She is also survived by three grand children: Bradley Anderson ill, Noel Anderson, and Jordyn Clark. Father, Bob Wagner and his wife Jenny. Brothers: Doug and Steve Wagner and nephews Matthew and Connor. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Betty Jane Wagner.
Funeral Services for Ginger will be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Kennewick, Wednesday, January, 2, at 1:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Seattle Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center, 122 16th Ave. East, Seattle, WA 98112

James E. Akin
November 27, 1923 - January 21, 2002

James Elbert Akin, died Monday, January 21, 2002, at the Kadlec Medical Center.
He was born to Silas Nathan Akin and Stella Ford Akin November 27, 1923, at Fairy, Texas. He graduated high school in Fairy and attended Howard Paine College and Golden Gate Seminary in Berkeley, CA.
He married Fern Anna Hetrick August 28, 1953, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Antioch, CA.
James pastured in a mission while in college. He also pastored in California, Vernal, Utah 2 years and 17 years in different places in Alaska. They moved back to Salt Lake Valley in 1974. He pastored different churches in Utah until retiring in 1986. After retiring, he did supply pastoral teaching.
He worked as a volunteer chaplain at Point of the Mountain, Utah State Prison from 1976 to 1996.
The Akins moved to Richland in July 1996. He did some pulpit supply in a few Baptist churches in the area.
He was a member of Richland Baptist Church.
James is survived by his wife, Fern; 3 brothers, Norvell and wife, Oleta, Hico, TX, Truman and wife, Imadee, San Antonio, TX and Carroll and wife, Francine, San Marcos, TX; sister-in-law, Judy Akin; brother-in-law, Lawrence and wife, Eunice Hetrick; and sister-in-law, Eva Hetrick.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepmother brothers, Loyd, Dalton and Nathan, Jr.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2002, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, Kennewick. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Richland Baptist Church.
Visitation will be at Einan’s Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday.
