Steven Stoller

Steven Stoller, age 45, died unexpectedly in Waupun, WI Wednesday morning, December 4, 2002. Mr. Stoller was a tool and die maker at Russel T. Gillman in Grafton for many years, was a member of the Saukville Moose Lodge, the Saukville Rifle and Pistol Club and enjoyed Trap shooting. He is survived by his 2 sons, Christopher and Allan, 1 sister, Wendy Schowalter and 1 brother Brian Stoller. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good friends. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Lyla Stoller and 1 sister, Linda Stoller.

Krolikowski, Stanley E. "Cookie"

PORT WASHINGTON, formerly of Milwaukee and Greenfield, age 72 years, Sunday, October 20, 2002. Cherished husband of 49 years of Judith (nee Landre), devoted father of Anne (Charlie Dee) Landre, Lawrence and Joseph (Sandra). Dear and loving grandfather to Aaron, Kathryn, Stanley and Anna Krolikowski, David Fisk and Ashley Heinz. He is further survived by a brother, Ervin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and innumerable friends. He is preceded in death by 3 brothers: Daniel, Henry and Clem.

Stanley was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement, he established and ran an American Family Insurance agency in West Allis for 37 years.

Before moving to Port Washington, Stanley was an active member and past president of the parish council at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in New Berlin. Most recently, he was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Belgium and active as a volunteer with the Salvation Army and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, serving as president of the St. Mary Lake Church chapter for the past six years.

Stanley will forever be remembered for his gentle humor and unwavering devotion to his wife, his family, his church and his community. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation with the family will be held Wed., Oct.23, from 4-6PM at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6PM. St. Mary’s is located a short distance east of I-43 and County Hwy D (exit #107) in Ozaukee County, at the intersection of Hwy. D and Lake Church Rd.

The family requests that Stanley’s bright and enduring spirit be memorialized with plantings of daffodils by the large community of people whose lives he touched. Additional memorials to the Salvation Army or the Soc. of St. Vincent de Paul are also suggested.

Howard M. Taft

Mr. Howard Taft, age 73 years, of 620 Hillcrest Rd. Saukville, passed away October 23, 2002 at Cedar Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg. Howard was born April 12, 1929 in Rice Lake, WI, son of the late Clarence and Esther Fredrickson Taft. On July 3, 1959 he married Ann Nihoris in Milwaukee. Mr. Taft worked as a tool and die maker for Mercury Marine, retiring in 1998. Howard was very active in his community. He was a current Trustee for the Village of Saukville, and had served previous terms from 1979 to 1984, 1998 to 2000, and 2001 to the present. He also was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Port Washington, had worked part-time at Sears in the Lawn and Garden Dept. and was a devoted and long-time Green Bay Packers fan. Mr. Taft is survived by his wife Ann of Saukville, 4 sons; Phillip (Youngcha) of Franklin, Daniel (Mary Sue) of Franklin, Roger and Arthur both of Milwaukee and 1 daughter Lois (Patrick) McGriff of Ortonville, MI. He is further survived by 6 grandsons, 3 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers; Norman (Barbara) of Oxnard, CA, Jerry (Nancy) of Mechanicsville, VA, Allan (Nancy) of Kewauskum, and Steven of Bay View, 3 sisters; Marge (Dave) Hoff, Carol (the late Edwin) Ostenson, both of Barron, WI, and Helen (the late Ted) Hamilton of Eagle, WI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Gordon Taft. Funeral services were held at the Eernisse Funeral Home Saturday October 26, 2002 with the Rev. Colson Leach of Faith Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Union cemetery Saukville. A memorial fund has been established by the family in his name at The Port Washington State Bank in Saukville. Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is assisting the family.

Rosemary Riordan

Rosemary Riordan, age 87 years formerly of Chicago died Monday, December 16, 2002 at the home of her son in Belgium, WI. She was born May 13, 1915 in Chicago, daughter of Bartholomew and Rose Schuetz Murphy. On September 16, 1939 she married William Riordan at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Riordan was a member of St. Mary Lake Church, Belgium. Where she belonged to the Spirit Group and helped with the monthly preparation of food for St. Ben’s in Milwaukee. She was also a member of the Beach Wine and Cheese Club. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, baking and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by 3 children William B. (Kathleen) Riordan of Chicago, John P. Riordan of Belgium, WI and Rosemary (Leonard) Palicki of Niles, IL, 5 grandchildren Katie Megan, John, Annie and Martin, and 2 great-grandchildren Kyle and Sarah. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers. Visitation for Mrs. Riordan will be at St. Mary Church Lake Church Wednesday from 4-6 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday December 19, 11 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 2324 W. Chase Ave. Chicago, preceded by a 1 hour visitation. Burial will be in All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines, IL. Memorials to St. Mary Lake Church appreciated. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Belgium is assisting the family.

Jean E. Rismeyer

Jean Rismeyer 73 years, of Lasata Care Center, Cedarburg, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 2, 2003 surrounded by her family. She was born in Milwaukee on June 7, 1929 daughter of the late Walter and Frieda Heberer Oppermann. On December 17, 1949 she married Raymond “Ziggy” Rismeyer in Milwaukee. Jean worked as a clerk at the Ben Franklin store in Port Washington for 17 years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Washington for over 50 years, and was also a member of the St. John’s Women’s Guild and the Altar Guild. Jean’s other joys in life included volunteering for InterFaith Caregivers, being a foster mother, baking cakes; she baked and decorated all of her children’s wedding cakes and also taught cake decorating classes. Jean was a former member of the Lakeland Jolly Campers and the Square Benders Square Dance Club. Her other hobbies included crocheting and playing bingo and dice games. She will also be missed by the Sunday morning coffee klatch gang that she attended for many years. Jean is survived by 5 children; sons Kenneth (Theresa) of Medford, Keith (Christine) of Port Washington, Daniel (Anne) of Port Washington, and Paul (Kathy) of Port Washington, and her daughter Bonnie (David) Miller of Port Washington. She is further survived by 9 grandchildren; Autumn, Ryan (Wendy), Michelle, Eric, Christopher, Sarah, Raymond, and Tommy Rismeyer and Brian (Alicia) Miller, 1 great-granddaughter Hailey Lynn Rismeyer, 2 brothers Walter (Joyce) Oppermann of Neenah and Harold (Kathy) Oppermann of Cedarburg, her identical twin sister June (Clifford) Rathke of Grafton, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Ziggy and special friend Willard Egerer, brothers and sisters-in-law. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2003, 2 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 403 W. Foster St., Port Washington with Rev. John Klieve officiating. Interment Union cemetery, Port Washington. Visitation at the church Saturday, 11 AM until time of services. Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is assisting the family.

SYLVESTER J. RIES

Syl Ries, age 80 years, of 6776 Kay K Road, Belgium, passed away Thursday morning, January 2, 2003, at the Valley View Medical Center in Plymouth. He was born in the Town of Belgium on September 17, 1922, son of Jacob and Catherine Knaff Ries. Syl entered the US Army during WWII and served with the 12th Armored Division in Germany. More recently, he had worked as a driver for Schmitz Ready Mix in Port Washington. Mr. Ries was a lifelong member of Our Lady of teh Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Dacada, a member of the Holy Name Society, and belonged to the Hamm-Miller American Legion Post 145 and VFW post 5373.
He is survived by 1 brother, Nicholas Ries, of the Town of Belgium, 1 sister-in-law, Grace Ries, of Bellingham, WA, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Dennis Sukup

Mr. Dennis J. Sukup, age 60 years of 57 Stark Road Random Lake passed away peacefully March 4, 2003 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Benson MN on October 16, 1942 son of the late John and Marie Langsdorf Sukup. On July 22, 1961 he married Rose Holmes in Milwaukee. Dennis worked in the printing profession for over 30 years, including the last 5 years as a proof reader for the Mandel Corporation in Milwaukee. Mr. Sukup enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family at their house on Random Lake. He is survived by his wife Rose of Random Lake, son Dennis R. (Christy) Sukup of Batavia, daughter Cheryl (Leon) Bahr of Port Washington, 4 grandchildren; Michael and Michaela Arvelo, and Samantha and Devon Sukup, 3 brothers Ronald (Debra) of Milwaukee, Jerry (Loralee) Mosser of Clintonville, and Thomas Sukup, 1 sister Donna (Michael) Berrenson of Westminster, MD, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, and his beloved dog Oscar. Private family services were held. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family suggested. The family would like to thank the VNA of Sheboygan for their loving care and support of Denis. Eernisse Funeral Home, Belgium is assisting the family.

Ervin Peiffer

Mr. Ervin J. Peiffer, of Montgomery Street in Port Washington, died at St. Joseph's Community Hospital in West Bend Sunday morning, February 9, 2003. He was 94 years old. Erv was born March 31, 1908 in Holy Cross, son of John and Rose Wester Peiffer. He attended Holy Cross Grade School and graduated from Random Lake High School in 1926. Mr. Peiffer went to work as an accountant for Rockwell Mfg. Co. in Milwaukee from 1926 until 1935. On November 14, 1936 he was united in marriage to Ruth Marie Starry in Barnevelde, WI. During their marriage, Erv worked at the former Kultgen Chevrolet as both an accountant and a sales manager. In 1964 he opened Ozaukee Oil Co., which he remained active in until 1972.
Mr. Peiffer was well known in Ozaukee County government and charity circles. He served as an Ozaukee County Supervisor from 1958-2002, helped create and served as chairman for the Commission on Aging, was a 50 year member and past president of the Kiwanis Club, a 50 year member of the Catholic Knights, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well.
Mrs. Ruth Marie Peiffer preceded her husband in death on June 25, 1965. On May 18, 1968 Ervin married Ann Burczek in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on June 13, 1998.
Mr. Peiffer is survived by 2 daughters, Judy Peiffer and Mary (Dave) Perren, both of Port Washington, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 3 step-children, 2 brothers, Clarenc and Al Peiffer, both of Port Washington, and 3 sister, Sally Lehman of Fort Atkinson, Hildegard Bremser of Cedarburg and Evelyn (Alex) Goedde of Port Washington, He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many dear friends. He is preceded in death by 2 wives, his son, Charles, and 4 brothers, Norbert, Roman, Harry and Milton.

BENNETT, KATHERINE E.

THIENSVILLE, March 16, 2003, age 83 years. Beloved wife of Arvin, loving mother of Arlene (Charles Jr.) Heeren and Arthur Bennett, dear grandmother of Merri Kay, Charles III, Kirk and Matthew. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services Wed., March 19, 2 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment in Immanuel cemetery. Visitation Tues., 4-7 PM and Wed. 12-2 PM at the Funeral Home.

Linda Lee Stoller

Linda Lee Stoller, age 31 years, of 3711 S. 84th St., Milwaukee Formerly of Saukville

Died at her residence Tuesday morning, November 19, 2002.

Linda was born on July 23, 1971 in Port Washington, daughter of William G. and Lyla J. Kelly Stoller. She attended Port Washington High School.

Survived by 1 daughter, Demoni Stoller of Milwaukee, 1 son, Jordan Stoller of Milwaukee, 1 sister, Wendy Schowalter of Saukville, 2 brothers, Steven Stoller of Saukville and Brian Stoller of Saukville. Special Friend of Robert Sampson of Milwaukee. Further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 22, 3 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington, Visitation will be Friday from 12-3 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Union cemetery in Port Washington. Pastor Mark Voll will officiate.

William Jones

Mr. William M. Jones, Jr. age 53 years, dies unexpectedly in Black River Falls on Wednesday, November 27, 2002. After highschool, Bill joined the US Marine Corp, serving overseas during the Vietnam War. More recently, Mr. Jones was the owner of The Eagles Nest, a tatoo parlor in Port Wawshington. Bill is survived by his mother, Mary, of Grafton, his 5 children: Michael, Justin, Misty, Jessica and Mandy, 1 sister, Karen Neuy, special friends Nancy Guenthner and Ralph Torrigan, 2 special nieces, Cheryl and Deanna, 2 nephews, other relatives and many friends. His love for the art of tatooing was well known to those who knew him. He enjoyed Harley Davidson Motorcycles and spending time with his sons. Bill was a goop person who would do anything to help, and never expected anything in return, He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Virgil "Jake" Demge

Virgil T. "Jake" Demge, age 83 years, of Port Washington, died Wednesday, December 18, 2002 in Mequon. He was born September 6, 1919 in Belgium, WI, the son of John and Mabel Anderson Demge. He married Ethel Godersky on May 12, 1956 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. Mr. Demge was a carpenter who worked for Schmidt Household and Electric, Lueptow's Furniture and Appliance and Biever's Appliance, all in Port Washington. Jake was a US Army veteran of World War II, a member of St. Mary's Church, the American Legion Post 82 and the Antique Motorcycle Club of America.

He is survived by his wife Ethel of Port Washington, their children: Christine (Brian) Coakley of West Bend, John of Memphis, TN, Gary (Michelle) of Port Washington, Charles (Lori)of Menomonee Falls, DuWayne (Judy Lemke) of Grafton, and Barbara Demge of Port Washington, 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by 1 son, Brian, 1 brother and 1 sister.

An American Legion walk thru will take place at the Funeral Home at 6PM, followed by family rites, before procession to the church for Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Memorials to St. Mary's Parish are suggested by the family.

Pamela Jean Polgar

Pamela Jean Polgar, of 2856 Northwood Rd, Port Washington, died after a valiant struggle with cancer Sunday evening, February 2, 2003. She was 37 years old.

Pam was born November 5, 1965 in Port Washington, daughter of Roland “Phil” and Judean Wicke Phillips. She attended and graduated from Port Washington High School in 1984. For the last 5 years she worked as an assembler at Hayes Brake in Mequon. She collected Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls, as well as “Salty and Peppy” shaker sets. She loved plants and animals of all sorts. She enjoyed cooking, especially Mexican food from scratch. She was well known for her love of rummage sales, was very family oriented and a loving & caring person.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Michael Polgar and Jeffrey Phillips, both of Port Washington, her parents, Phil and Judean Phillips of Port Washington, 1 grandmother, Lucille Wicke of Suring, 3 brothers, Kelly (Rochelle), Kenneth (Kelly) and Kevin (Alicia), all of Port Washington, . She was a special aunt to Tyler, Julia, Madisyn and Makenzie, special niece of Karen O’Brien, special friend of Sarah (Shane) Keefe- Schigar of Oostburg and Angie of West Bend. She is further survived by aunts, uncle, cousins other relatives, many friends and her animals.

Funeral services Wednesday, February 5, 2003, 7 PM at Christ The King Lutheran Church Port Washington with Rev. Alice Horton officiating. Visitation at the church from 5-7 PM. A memorial fund has been established for her sons at the Port Washington State Bank.

The family would like to thank Sarah and Shane for opening their hearts and their home to Pam in her last days, a special thank you to the caregivers at St. Nicholas Home Health and Hospice, and many thanks to all of the wonderful people at Hayes Brakes for their kindness, support and generosity.
