BARBARA A. REIMER

Ms. Barbara Reimer, of Hwy H in Little Kohler, passed away unexpectedly at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls late Monday evening, December 13, 2004. She was 51 years old. Barbara was born on September 4, 1953 in Port Washington, daughter of Hilbert and Evelyn Kertscher Reimer. After graduating from Random Lake High School, she took a job with Amity Leather in West Bend. She had worked there as an inspector for twenty-five years. Ms. Reimer was an avid collector of Elvis memorabilia and a big fan of his music. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was especially fond of time spent with her great-niece. She is survived by two brothers: Dennis (Roberts) Reimer Sr. of Little Kohler and Wayne (Dawn) Reimer of Phoenix, AZ, 1 niece, Angela Reimer of Cedarburg, 1 nephew, Dennis Reimer of Thiensville, 1 great-niece, Brooklynn Hill of Cedarburg, 1 uncle, Earl Kertscher of Silver Creek, 3 aunts: Dorothy Breit, Florence Pietchmann of West Bend and Marcella (Rudy) Stadler of Saukville. She is further survived by her cousin and best friend Mary Neumann of Fredonia, other cousins, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Funeral Service will be held Friday, 7PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W, Grand Ave. in Port Washington. Rev. Mark Voll will officiate. Burial will take place the next day at St. Martin’s cemetery in Fillmore. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home Friday from 4-7PM. Memorials to the family are suggested.

Craig J. Enders

Mr. Craig Enders, currently of West Allis, formerly of Belgium passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2004 in Germantown. He was 36 years old. Craig was born on July 2, 1968 in Milwaukee, son of Neal and Joyce Kort Enders. Mr. Elders was a machinist at Marlow & Sons Machining in Germantown. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching football and was a big fan of NASCAR and Rusty Wallace. He is survived by his 3 daughters: Rabecca (James) Anzia of Belgium, Trista Raddatz of Pewaukee and Hannah Enders of Butler, 2 granddaughters: Zoe and Anabelle Anzia of Belgium, his parents Neal Enders of Oconomowoc and Joyce Kort Enders of West Allis, 2 brothers: Chris (Tammy Marshall) Enders of Oconomowoc and Eric (Kelli Butler) Enders of St. Paul, MN and 1 sister Heather Enders of Waukesha. He is further survived by his grandparents Jerome and Mary Enders of Laona, aunts and uncles: Deanna (Myron “Mike”) Loberger of Appleton, Jim (Joanie) Kort of Germantown, Joe (Karen) Kort of Grafton, and Dick (Marleen) Kort of Deerfield, 2 nieces: Kristen Enders and Breanne Dunn, both of Waukesha, 2 nephews: Noah Dunn of Waukesha and Travis Enders of New York, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 15th at 4 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave. (Hwy LL & Park St.) in Belgium. Father James Vojtik will officiate. Interment will take place the following day at St. Mary cemetery, Lake Church. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3-4PM. Memorials to the family are suggested.

THOMAS R. FUNKE

Mr. Tom Funke, of Holden St. in Port Washington passed away at Columbia-St. Mary’s Ozaukee Campus in Mequon late Saturday evening, December 11, 2004. He was 70 years old. Tom was born in Plymouth on October 9, 1934, son of Robert E. and Lura L. Amundson Funke. He attended New Holstein Public Schools until he graduated in 1952. After serving in the US Army, Tom attended meat-cutting school. He was united in marriage with Beatrice Torke on June 10, 1961 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church. Mr. Funke was a meat cutter and worked at Port Foods and Merrill’s Food Store before working at Sentry Foods for 19 years, retiring in 1991. Tom was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington, the American Legion Post 82 and a former Jaycee’s member. He enjoyed playing cribbage, golf and going to the family cottage in Rock Dam. He especially liked watching sports and attending Packer home games. Tom was well known for his great sense of humor. He was a hard worker, a very affectionate, caring and warm person. He spent time during his retirement visiting his grandchildren and his father on a weekly basis. Tom is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beatrice, their three children: Lara (Jeffrey) Nothem of Mayville, Michael Funke of Las Vegas, NV and Martha (Marcus) Carter of Minneapolis, MN, five grandchildren: Steffen Clavette of Oshkosh, Marissa, Andrew, Julia and Hannah Nothem of Mayville. He is further survived by 1 sister, Nancy (Edward) Snyder of Anaheim, CA, 1 aunt, Ruth Feuerstein of Sturgeon Bay, brother- and sisters-in-law: John (Arleen) Torke of Port Washington, June Torke Domoe of Milwaukee, Beata Schueller of Belgium and Joseph Torke of Los Angeles, CA, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 15, 7PM going from the Funeral Home to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Mass at 7:30PM. Father Allen Sommer will officiate. Inurnment will take place at New Holstein City cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington, on Wednesday from 4-7PM. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or to Port Catholic Schools.

JOSEPH J. HANSEN

Mr. Joseph Hansen, of the Country Harbor Apartments in Random Lake, passed away after a brief stay at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center in Sheboygan on Friday evening, December 10, 2004. He was 83 years old. Joseph was born on April 1, 1921 in Random Lake, the son of John and Susan Rassel Hansen. He entered the US Army in October of 1942 and left the service in January of 1946. He was united in marriage with Joyce Berth in September of 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Random Lake. Mr. Hansen most recently had worked in the Iron Foundry at Kohler, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, a former member of the American Legion and enjoyed playing cards, working puzzles, woodworking and building small crafts. He is survived by his 5 children: Robert, Mary, Roger and Dale Hansen, all of Random Lake, and Ronald (Wendy) Hansen of Park Falls. He is further survived by 2 grandchildren, Kelly Rusch of Random Lake and Mandy Hansen of Park Falls, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by 1 son, William, 1 daughter, Shelley (presumed deceased), 1 grandson, Travis Johnson, 1 brother, William and 3 sisters: Martha Thomas, Clara Glander and Katherine Hansen. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, 3PM at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Dacada. Father Richard Cerpich will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the parish cemetery with full Military Rites. The family will receive visitors at the church Thursday from 1-3PM. Lawrence Emmer

Mr. Larry Emmer, of Martin Ave. in Fredonia, passed away unexpectedly at Columbia – St. Mary’s Ozaukee Campus in Mequon early Thursday morning, December 9, 2004. He was 87 years old. Larry was born in Port Washington on July 26, 1917, son of Paul and Anna Buser Emmer. He was united in marriage with Bernice Straus at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake Church on September 28, 1940. The couple moved to the Fredonia area in 1946. Larry was a tool and die maker and had worked at Luitink Mfg. in Menomonee Falls until he retired in the mid 1980’s. Larry was a member of Holy Rosary Parish, St. Rose Chapel, Fredonia, the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters, Court #479. He was a past member of the Fredonia Village Board and was very involved with the Northern Ozaukee Clinic. He enjoyed woodworking, flower- gardening and playing sheepshead. He is survived by his wife, Bernice of Fredonia, 2 daughters: Connie Kriewaldt of Fredonia and Penny Hartwig of Random Lake, 7 grandchildren: Jesse, Janine, Mary, Larry, Paul, Amy and Katy, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by 1 daughter, Mary Ann, 1 son, Paul ( the late Marie), 2 brothers: George and Eugene Emmer and 2 sisters: Francis Schueller and Cecelia Emmer. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Sunday, December 12, 2004 7PM at Holy Rosary Parish, St. Rose Chapel, Fredonia. Father Dick Fleischmann will officiate. Inurnment will take place in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church Sunday from 4-7PM. Mrs. Cecilia Bares

Cecilia Bares, age 92 years of 333 W. Walters St., Port Washington, formerly of Belgium passed away Tuesday evening, December 7, 2004 at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center where she was a patient for the past six days. She was born May 9, 1912 in Belgium, daughter of Nicholas and Anna Strauss Krick. On May 9, 1936 she married George Bares at St. Mary Church, Lake Church. The couple was part owner and founder of the Belgium Community Center in 1962. He preceded her in death in 1978. Mrs. Bares was part of the staff that prepared meals and banquets for events at the Center. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church, the Christian Women, Catholic Order of Foresters and enjoyed quilting, gardening and baking. Survivors include four children Philip (Paquita) Bares of Arlington Heights, IL, Thomas (Suzanne) Bares of Franklin, Mary Ann (James) Stehlik of Belgium and Peter (Renee) Bares of Saukville, eight grandchildren Roger Bares, Michelle Hill, Angelica Ward, Melissa Bares, Robert Bares, Megan Bares, Julie Teunissen and Jenny Stehlik, four great grandchildren Cameron and Olivia Hill, Brittany and Dylan Teunissen, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers John and William Krick. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 11, 10:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Lake Church, preceded by family rites at 10 AM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., Belgium. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Friday from 4-8 PM and Saturday from 9-10 AM. A parish rosary service will be held at the Funeral Home Friday eve at 7:30 PM. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association appreciated.

Peter May

Peter May, 43, of Nashua, IA died Saturday, December 4, 2004, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Peter Robert May was born September 25, 1961, in Belgium, WI, the son of Dick and Regina (Ries) May. He graduated from Cedar Grove High School, Cedar Grove, WI. On November 23, 1991, he was united in marriage to Sandra Knapp of Mequon, WI in Cedarburg, WI. In 1992 Peter and Sandy moved to Charles City where Peter was employed by Cambrex Chemical in Charles City. Peter enjoyed golfing, traveling and above all was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Peter will be sadly missed by his wife, Sandy of Nashua; two stepsons, Tony Knapp of Charles City, and Bruce Knapp of Grafton, WI; brothers and sisters, Bill (Diane) May and Mike May (Phil Grasty) all of Cedar Grove, WI, Noreen (Ken) Wall of Owosso, MI, Marge (Terry) Steinert of Charles City; a sister-in- law, Debbie (Jim) Hill of Mayville, WI, a brother-in-law, John (Patti) Liss of Grafton, WI; mother-in-law, Theresa Cyra of Germantown, WI; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Badger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles and Max.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 North Royal Avenue, Belgium, WI., with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Parish cemetery, Lake Church, WI.

Jack Moser

Mr. Jack Moser, of Church Street in Sheboygan Falls, passed away on December 3, 2004 at Sunnyridge Nursing Home in Sheboygan. He was 80 years old. Jack was born on January 12, 1924, in Erie, PA, son of Carl and Gertrude Bartlet Moser. On August 12, 1944 he married Lucille Arndt in Milwaukee. He is surived by his wife, their 4 children: Connie Umgelter of West Bend, Pat (Dirk) Houtkamp of Wauwatosa, Jim (Cindy) Moser of Wisconsin Rapids, and Terri Moser of Oostburg, 4 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers: William and Robert. Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004 at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium.

ESTHER E. FRANZKE

Mrs. Esther Franzke, a resident of Luther Manor in Milwaukee, formerly of Port Washington, passed away at Luther Manor Tuesday morning, November 23, 2004. She was 87 years old. Esther was born in the Town of Port Washington on June 17, 1917, daughter of Henry and Anna Rick Meins. She was united in marriage with Lloyd Frankze on June 19, 1937 in Port Washington. Esther was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in Port Washington. She was a former volunteer at St. Alphonsus Hospital, and a former member of EMBA. Esther took a lot of pride in always having a clean house. She also enjoyed water aerobics, traveling, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Denny (Virginia) of Port Washington, 2 grandchildren, Brian (Anita) Franzke of Saukville and Kris (Michael Kellogg) Franzke of Milwaukee and, 6 great-grandchildren: Elaine, Evelle, Emily and Elizabeth Franzke and Maggie and Liam Kellogg. She is further survived by 1 sister, Florence (the late Henry) Rau of Sheboygan Falls, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd and 2 brothers, Lester and Erwin Meins. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 29, 2004 7PM at Grand Ave. United Methodist Church, 505 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. Pastor David Guse will officiate. Burial will take place at Union cemetery, Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at THE CHURCH Monday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family.

JOHN A. SCHMIT “Jack”

Mr. Jack Schmit of Butler St. in Random Lake, passed away unexpectedly at Froedert Lutheran Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee late Sunday evening, November 21, 2004. He was 69 years old. Jack was born in the Town of Fredonia on May 9, 1935, son of John J. and Leona Huiras Schmit. After graduating from Port Washington High School, Jack entered the US Army. On September 5, 1964 he was united in marriage with JoAnn Wester at St. Mary Catholic Church, Lake Church. Mr. Schmit worked at Gehl Company in West Bend for 38 years, retiring in 1997. He also was a bartender at The Five Pillars Supper Club in Random Lake for 25 years. Jack was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Mary’s Chapel, Random Lake. He was a member of the AFL-CIO union, and had served as a union steward for many years. He enjoyed playing sheepshead, waxing cars, waterskiing, and going to baseball games. He was a former member of the Random Lake Fire Department. He loved spending time on the lake, taking long rides in his convertibles and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, of Random Lake and their 3 children: 1 daughter, Kim Lopez of Port Washington and 2 sons, Todd and Chris Schmit, both of Grafton. He is further survived by 1 grandson, Evan Lopez of Port Washington, 3 sisters: Doris Mueller of Random Lake, Bernice Wiskerchen of Fredonia and Virginia Bittner of Belgium, 3 sister-in-laws: Mary Margaret Schmitz of Dacada, Clarice Wester of Gaylord, MI, and Celine (Ron) Krizek of Lake Church, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, November 24, 7:30PM at Our Lady of The Lakes Parish, St. Mary’s Chapel. Father Kevin Wester will officiate. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday at the CHURCH from 5:30 -7:30 PM. Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium is assisting the family.

DONALD J. STEPHAN Sr.

Mr. Don Stephan, Sr., of Riverside Drive in Saukville, passed away at Cedar Springs Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg on Thursday morning, November 18, 2004. He was 80 years old. Don was born in the Town of Sherman on July 24, 1924, son of Edmond and Erma Manderle Stephan. Mr. Stephan entered the US Navy on December 14, 1943, serving overseas during World War II. On August 29, 1945 he was united in marriage with Constance Miske in West Bend. Don worked as a Supervisor in the Trim Shop at American Motors Corporation in Milwaukee for thirty years, retiring in 1978. He was a very active member of the American Legion Post 470 and handled all of the event bookings for the Legion Hall for fifteen years. He loved fishing, hunting and eating the game and fish that he brought back home. He was well known for his pickling and smoking of fish and frequently helped others with their catch as well. He also liked polka music, gardening and just being outdoors. He made Christmas wreaths for many years, starting in the mid sixties and was preparing for yet another season of creating them. He is survived by his wife, Connie, of Saukville, 2 daughters: Donna (Bill) Ubbink and Diane (Larry) Block, both of Random Lake, 2 sons: Donald (Barb) Stephan, Jr., of Saukville and Darryl “Buck” Stephan of Port Washington, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by 1 son-in-law, David Faust of Florida, 1 sister, Doris (Bepo) Passini of Fond du Lac, 1 sister-in-law, Joan Stephan of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by 1 daughter, Darlene Schmit-Faust, 1 grandson, Donald J. Stephan III, and 2 brothers: Roy and Alois Stephan. Funeral Services will be held Monday evening, November 22, at 6:30 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. Reverend Earl Kruse will officiate. Military Rites will follow. Burial will take place in Union cemetery, Saukville at a later date. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home Monday from 1:30 PM until the services at 6:30 PM.

Joseph J. Kultgen

Mr. Joe Kultgen, of Middle Road in Belgium, passed away at Belgium Gardens Tuesday afternoon, November 16, 2004. He was 83 years old. Joe was born in the Town of Belgium on June 24, 1921, the son of Joseph and Anna Rock Kultgen. He served in the US Army during World War II, and on May 8th, 1948, he was united in marriage with Viola Grabinger at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Dacada. The couple farmed in the Town of Belgium, and Joe also worked at the Gilt Edge Foundry in Cedar Grove from 1967 until 1981. Viola preceded him in death in 1985. On December 17, 1993, Joe was united in marriage with Dolores Gonwa at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church. Mr. Kultgen was a lifetime member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Dacada and belonged to the Belgium American Legion Post 412. He enjoyed woodworking, walking, going to antique tractor shows and auctions, and eating good home-cooked food. He liked to watch wrestling and enjoyed socializing with friends, family and people in the community. Joe is survived by his wife Dolores of Belgium, a daughter, Patricia (Glenn) Koeser of Oostburg, 2 sons: Donald (Ann) Kultgen and Steven (Debbie) Kultgen, both of Random Lake, 6 grandchildren: Karla, Janell, Abby and Kyle Kultgen, Susie (Adam) Osypowski and Nick Koeser, 1 great-grandson, Ian Osypowski and 1 brother Alfred (Angie) Kultgen of Port Washington. He is further survived by 2 stepchildren: Leon (Diane) Anzia of Belgium and Doris (Tom) Schwebel of Sheboygan, 8 step-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife Viola, his son Joseph, a sister, Marcella Kultgen, and 2 brothers, Ray and Ervin Kultgen. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 19, 2004 at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Dacada starting at 7PM. Fr. Richard Cerpich will officiate. Joe will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday at the Church from 3-7PM . Memorials are suggested to Belgium Gardens or the Alzheimer’s Association. Rev. Dr. George O. Jorenby

Rev. George Jorenby of Babalee Lane in West Bend, formerly of Saukville, passed away suddenly at his residence early Friday morning. November 19, 2004. He was 57 years old. George was born in Madison on December 17, 1946, the son of Orville and Olive Spaulding Jorenby. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from UW Platteville in 1969, he attended United Theological Seminary in New Brighton, MN, becoming ordained in The United Church of Christ in 1972. He received his Doctorate of Ministry from McCormick Theological Seminary in 1986. He was united in marriage with Judy Rodman in Fond du Lac on July 17, 1976. Rev. Jorenby served as pastor at many churches before coming to the Saukville area to become pastor at St. Peter’s UCC in 1993. He was currently an interim pastor at St. Paul’s UCC in Waubeka and St. Martin’s UCC in Fillmore. Rev. Jorenby was a member of Salem UCC in Wayne, served on the Church and Ministry Team of Southeastern Wisconsin Assoc. of UCC and was an active participant of the West Bend District Clergy. He was an avid reader and enjoyed sports, especially golf. He enjoyed building things and regularly helped with Habitat For Humanity projects. Rev. Jorenby is survived by his wife Judy of West Bend, their children Bethany of Oshkosh and Joshua of the Chicago area. He is further survived by 3 sisters: Corinne McVey of Madison, Gail (Arnold) Widofsky of Newbury Park CA and Emily Jorenby of Madison, his mother-in-law, Rosalia Rodman of Oconomowoc, sisters-and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant twin sister, Georgia. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, November 23, 2004, 7PM at The Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. Rev. Dr. Thomas Bentz will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home Tuesday from 4-7PM. Memorials are suggested to Cedar Lake Home in West Bend.

Albert A. “Sonny” Perez

Mr. Albert Perez, of Main Street in Belgium, passed away unexpectedly at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan Monday morning, November 15, 2004. He was 56 years old. “Sonny” was born in Round Rock, TX, on March 16, 1948, son of Bicente and Cruz Amaro Perez. He moved into the Belgium area in 1965. Sonny worked as a machine maintenance man at Lakeside Foods in Belgium for more than 30 years, retiring in 2001. Mr. Perez was a member at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church. Sonny was well known for his out-going personality, his ability to make friends quickly and his great sense of humor. He enjoyed watching movies, working with his hands, fishing and taking his children fishing. He is survived by his 3 children: Albert C. Perez Jr. of Minneapolis, MN, Sophia Perez and Paul E.C. Perez, both of Sheboygan, and his former wife, Florinda C. Perez ( nee Castro) of Sheboygan. He is further survived by 3 sisters: Herminia (Joe) Ojeda of Georgetown, TX, Mary (Scott) Hartwig of Saukville and Margaret (Hans) Bruhn of Martinez, CA, 7 brothers: Vincent (Janie) of Saukville, Gonzalo (Lupe) of Round Rock, TX, Manuel (Velma) of Belgium, John (Martha) of Port Washington, Willie (Jackie) of Belgium and Daniel Perez of Saukville, numerous nieces & nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 18th, 10: 30 AM from the Funeral Home going to St. Mary Lake Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Father Jim Vojtik will officiate, Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal St. (Hwy LL and Park St.) in Belgium Wednesday, Nov. 17 from 4-8PM and again Thursday Nov. 18 from 9-10:30 AM. There will be a rosary service held Wed. evening at 7:30 PM.

Evelyn N. Lanser

Mrs. Evelyn Lanser, formerly of Cedar Grove, passed away Saturday evening, November 6, 2004, at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington. She was 88 years old. Evelyn was born in the Town of Hingham on May 24, 1916, daughter of Ruben and Jennie Simmilink DeSmith. On June 27, 1936 she was united in marriage with Sylan Lanser at St. Peter Clavor Catholic Church in Sheboygan. The couple lived in Port Washington and moved to Cedar Grove in 1938. Evelyn worked at the Cedarburg Shoe Factory until she and her husband took ownership of the Sportsman Bar & Grill in Cedar Grove. They ran the establishment for 28 years, selling in 1971. Mrs. Lanser was a member at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church, the Christian Womens Guild, and the Tavern League. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards, especially sheepshead, and was a member of a card club for 28 years. She also liked to travel with her friends, enjoyed going to plays and did fancy needlework. Evelyn is survived by her 2 daughters: Mary Jane “Janie” (LaMont) Lukens of Cedar Grove and Nancy (Steve) Behringer of Aurora, CO., 7 grandchildren: Brian (Debby) Lukens, Bruce (Barb) Lukens, Brent (Deb) Lukens, Barbara Lukens, Teri (the late Bradley Lukens) (Frank) Schmitz, Lisa (Kenny) Blair and Cristal Behringer, 15 great-grandchildren: Bambi (Fred), Brianne (Jack), Bobbi Jo, Betsy, Shawn (Julie), Carrie, Samantha, Becky, Brian, Katie, Brandon, Anna (Mike), Angie, Sara (Chris) and Melissa and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by 3 brothers: Edwin (Dorothy) De Smith of Hobert, IN, Rodney (Erica) De Smith of North Hills, CA, Arthur (Maria) De Smith of Tempe, AZ, 1 sister Elsie (the late Alfonse) Uselding of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Syl, and 1 grandson, Bradley Lukens. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, 10 AM from the Funeral Home going to St. Mary Lake Church for Mass at 10:30 AM. Fr. James Ernster will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave. (Hwy LL & Park St.) in Belgium, Tuesday from 4-8PM and Wednesday from 9-10 AM. Memorials to St. Mary Lake Church are suggested.

SUZANNE M. “Toots” MILLER

Miss Suzanne Miller, age 55 years of Gables On The Pond, Random Lake, died Friday, November 5, 2004 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. She was born March 19, 1949 in Sheboygan, daughter of Lawrence Miller and the late Lois Nowack Miller. Suzanne worked at West Bend Co. for many years prior to retiring in the mid 1990’s. She was a member of Our Lady Of The Lakes Parish in Random Lake and enjoyed crocheting and flower arranging. Survivors include her father Lawrence of Random Lake, three brothers Tom Miller and Steven (Cheri) Miller of Random Lake, Richard Miller of Stuart, FL, two uncles, one aunt, nieces, nephews, five great nieces, one great nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday evening, November 8, 7 PM at Our Lady Of The Lakes, St. Mary’s Chapel, Random Lake. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation at the CHURCH Monday from 4-7 PM. Memorials to the Random Lake Fire Department appreciated. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Belgium is assisting the family with arrangements.
