MARY L. SMITHERS

Mrs. Mary Smithers, of 1st St. in Cedar Grove, passed away at her home early Wednesday afternoon, November 4, 2004, after a 2 year battle with cancer. She was 64 years old. Mary was born on November 1, 1940 in Antigo, daughter of Lester and Imogene Tatro Waldvogel. On June 3, 1967 she was united in marriage with James Smithers at St. Philips Catholic Church in Green Bay. The couple moved to Cedar Grove and Mary started her own beauty salon, Mary Smither’s Salon, operating first in Port Washington and then from her residence in Cedar Grove. Mary was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Dacada. She enjoyed traveling, doing various crafts and needlepoint. She is survived by her husband Jim of Cedar Grove, 2 daughters, Kim Smithers of Port Washington and Sally (Jeffrey) Prahl of Cedar Grove, her mother, Imogene Waldvogel of Phlox, WI and 2 brothers: Richard (Rosie) Waldvogel of Markesan and Philip (Debbie) Waldvogel of Beaver Dam. She is further survived by 2 sisters-in-law: Bonnie (Fred) Chris of Fond du Lac and Catherine (Mervin "Dee") Bowden of Topeka, KS, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, November 9th, at 6PM at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Dacada. Father Richard Cerpich will officiate. Inurnment will take place in St. Nicholas cemetery at a later date. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH Tuesday from 4-6PM. Eernisse Funeral Home, Belgium, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials to the family are suggested.

Elsie S. Wolterstorff

Mrs. Elsie Wolterstorff, of Keshena, WI, passed away at her granddaughter's house in Wauwatosa early Sunday morning, October 31, 2004. She was 84 years old. Elsie was born July 20, 1920 in Clear Lake, Iowa, daughter of James and Sorine Bendtsen Sorensen. On May 27, 1938 she was united in marriage with Raymond Wolterstorff in Racine. The couple lived in Racine and the Brown Deer area before moving up north in the 1970's. Her husband preceded her in death in August of 1979. Elsie had worked as an editor for WA Krueger Co. and the Cuneo Press, both in Milwaukee. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed sewing, gardening and walking. When her children were young, she had also been a girl scout leader. Elsie is survived by 1 son, Larry (Brooke) Wolterstorff of Prescott, AZ, 1 daughter-in-law, Sharon (the late Robert) Wolterstorff, 5 grandchildren: Shelly (John) Peterson of Wauwatosa, Kristi (Raymond) deBruijn of Saukville, Jason Wolterstorff of San Francisco, Aron Wolterstorff of Denver, CO and Tai Wolterstorff of Sacramento, CA. She is further survived by 3 great grandchildren, 1 brother James (Kathy) Sorensen, 2 sisters: Anna Draper and Ellen (Ward) Hinz, all of Racine, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, 1 daughter Patricia Tamburrino, and 1 son, Robert Wolterstorff. Private services were held. Elsie was placed to rest next to her husband at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI.

Trevor H. Mingaye

Mr. Trevor Mingaye, a resident at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington for the last several years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, October 27, 2004. He was 82 years old. Mr. Mingaye was born in St. Paul, MN on February 23, 1922, son of Robert and Winifred Davies Mingaye. He had worked for Augsburg Publishing House in Minneapolis, MN for more than 20 years and moved to Port Washington in May of 1998. Trevor was a member of the Teamsters and a member of the Minneapolis Institute of Art. He enjoyed working with ceramics, sketching and listening to sacred and classical music. He attended Friedens Ev. Church in Port Washington. Mr. Mingaye is survived by 1 niece, Winifred (John) Ansay of Belgium, 1 nephew, Bruce (Debra) Dumann of Oshkosh, 2 great-nieces Elizabeth (Tom) Wilson of Langhorne, PA and Amanda (Bryan) Wolf of Oshkosh, 2 great-nephews John J. and David Ansay, both of Port Washington. He is further survived by 2 great-great-nieces, 1 step-brother, Ray (Myrtle) Rustong, 1 step-sister, Eunice Williams, both of Rice Lake, other relatives and friends. A memorial services will be held at 7PM on Saturday, October 30th, 2004 at Friedens Evangelical Church, 454 N. Milwaukee St., in Port Washington. Pastor Mark Voll will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church from 6:30PM until services at 7PM. Mr. Mingaye will be placed in the family lot in the Woodlawn cemetery in Birchwood, WI. Memorials are suggested to Friedens Church.

MICHAEL R. MIILU “RAY”

Mike Miilu, age 77 years, of Montgomery Street in Port Washington passed away at Columbia – St. Mary’s Ozaukee Campus in Mequon early Tuesday morning, October 26, 2004. Mike was born one of 13 children to Michael and Irene Nickels Miilu in Mass, Michigan on May 8, 1927. He entered the US Navy during World War II. After he left the service, he moved to Wisconsin where he met and married Marie Zausch at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington on July 18, 1953. Mike had worked at Simplicity in Port Washington for 32 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion, was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, yard work and being outside. He liked hunting and fishing, trips home to the UP, playing cards and playing jokes on his friends. He enjoyed his family and grandkids, and once taught his 4 yr old grandson how to play poker. Mike is survived by his wife, Marie, of Port Washington, 2 daughters: Cindy (Brian) Draper of Cedarburg and Lori (Curt) Wiskirchen of Liberty, MO and 2 grandsons: Michael and Elliott Wiskirchen. He is further survived by 3 sisters: Dorothy (Gari) Schalte, Myrtle (Rick) Johnson and Lillian Miilu, 6 brothers: Eino (Kris), Don (Carol), Carl (Carol), Roy (Cis), Howard (Judy) and Norman Miilu, all of Michigan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by 3 sisters. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 28, 2004, 7PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave, Port Washington. Fr. Allan Sommer will officiate. Entombment will take place the following day. The family will receive visitors Thursday evening at the Funeral Home from 4-7PM. Memorials are suggested.

Ann Marie Jacobson “Anna”

Anna Jacobson, formerly of Jefferson, passed away peacefully at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend on Monday morning, October 25, 2004. She was 91 years old. Anna was born on August 17, 1913 in Milwaukee, daughter of John and Meta Wamser. She was united in marriage with Earl W. Jacobson Sr. on November 25, 1935 in Rockford, IL. He preceded her in death in 1987. Anna worked as a meat packer at Jefferson Meats for over 25 years. She also enjoyed gardening, doing anything outdoors, walking and spending time with her family. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, and supported and followed the local high school athletic teams. Mrs. Jacobson is survived by 1 son, Earl (Jo Anne) Jacobson of Port Washington, 3 grandchildren, Robert Jacobson, Lisa (Doug) Didier, both of Port Washington, and John Jacobson of Washington DC and 1 great-grandson, Alon Didier of Port Washington. She is further survived by 1 brother-in-law, Robert Purnell, 4 sisters-in-law, Geraldine Jacobson, Jean Stricker, Joan Lyke and Evelyn Ellefson, all of Edgerton, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, 1 daughter-in-law, Kathryn L. Jacobson (nee Harnden), 1 sister, Lillian Dobbratz and 1 brother, Clarence Wamser. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 30, 11:30 AM at the Albrecht Funeral Home in Edgerton. Rev. Jim Johnson will officiate. She will be placed to rest next to her husband in Jenson cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Albrecht Funeral Home Saturday from 10-11:30 AM. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and the Alzheimer’s Association.

MARGARET J. LEMBCKE

Mrs. Margaret Lembcke, age 92 years, formerly of Mequon died Sunday, October 24, 2004 at Wisconsin Lutheran Care Center in Milwaukee where she was a resident. She was born August 16, 1912 in Kaukauna, daughter of August and Margaret Hanna Weirauch. She taught school in the former Glendale-River Hills School District, now the MPS system until retiring in 1977 after 46 years. On June 21, 1938 she married Robert N. Lembcke in Kaukauna. He preceded her in death in March, 2000. Mrs. Lembcke was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Milwaukee. Survivors include her son Robert A. Lembcke (wife Eloise) of Saukville, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death b y one sister. Funeral Wednesday, Oct. 27, 11 AM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington with Pastor Mark Voll officiating. Entombment will be in Graceland cemetery, Milwaukee. Visitation Wednesday from 9-11 AM. Memorials to Alzheimers Research or Breast Cancer Research appreciated.

LEONA G. USELDING

Mrs. Leona Uselding, age 90 years, formerly of Belgium died Sunday morning, October 17, 2004 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center where she has resided for the past seven years. She was born November 27, 1913 in Waubeka, WI, daughter of John and Anna Thill Krell. On June 5, 1937 she married Raymond Uselding at St. Michael’s Church in St. Michaels, Washington County. The couple farmed on the Uselding homestead in the Town of Belgium until retiring. He preceded her in death in 1978. Mrs. Uselding was a member of Holy Rosary Parish and the Christian Women. She is survived by four children Mary Ann Baer of Madison, Richard A. (Patricia) Uselding of Belgium, Roger Uselding of Oshkosh and Gary (Ellen) Uselding of Belgium, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday evening, October 19, 7 PM at Holy Rosary Parish, Holy Cross Chapel, Hwy B, Town of Belgium. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the CHURCH Tuesday from 4-7 PM. A memorial fund has been established in her name.

STUART E. PEARSON

Stuart Pearson, age 75 years of 720 N. Holden St., Port Washington died Thursday morning October 14, 2004 at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington. He was born March 17, 1929 in Detroit, MI, son of the lage Sigfreid and Bertha Hoglund Pearson. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during the Korean conflict and owned and operated Midwest Roller Die Company in Germantown for the past thirty years. On April 30, 1983 he married Donna Lenning in Grand Rapids, MI. Mr. Pearson was a member of First Congregational Church in Port Washington and the Great Lakes Sports Fishermen. Survivors include his wife Donna, children Rev. Scott (Beth) Pearson of Eldridge, Iowa, Barbara (Carlos) Sanchez of Columbia, MO, Donna McCure of Brookfield, WI, Linda Newbloom of Milwaukie, OR, Virginia (Michael) Wagner of Waukesha, WI and Amy Pearson of Chicago, IL, 1 brother Richard Pearson and 18 grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 16, 11 AM at First Congregational Church, 131 N. Webster St, Port Washington with Rev. Jeff Suddendorf officiating. Burial in Union cemetery, Port Washington. Visitation at the CHURCH Saturday from 10 – 11 AM. Memorials to First Congregational Church apreciated. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington assisted the family with arrangements.

Frank James Brophy

Frank J. Brophy age 87 years, passed away quietly on Saturday October 9, 2004 at Scandia Village Health Care Center, Sister Bay, WI., following a long illness. Frank was born on August 5, 1917 in Saukville, son of the late Frank and LuLu Bell Brophy. He graduated from Port Washington High School in 1936. Frank married Lenore Marsdorf while in the military. He served in the Army from 1942 until 1943 in the armored tank division. Frank worked for many years as a sales representative for Testor’s Paint in Philadelphia, PA. After his retirement he and Lenore resided in Lehiegh Acres, Fl. Frank returned to Port Washington in 1991. He married Marion Hasse on February 1, 1992 and resided in Port Washington, WI, and Ellison Bay, WI. until his death. He was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington and former member of the Port Washington Rotary Club. Frank enjoyed traveling with his wife, golfing, and was an avid Green Bay Packer’s fan. Frank is survived by his wife Marion Brophy and two brothers Delwin (Colleen) Brophy of Fredonia, WI, Patrick (Joan) Brophy of Baraboo, WI. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and LuLu Brophy, his first wife Lenore Brophy, two sisters Pearl Ziegler, Ethel Bauschelt, and one infant brother, LeRoy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 14, 5:30 PM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin Avenue, Port Washington, with Father Michael Dineen officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s cemetery in Port Washington. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested. Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is assisting the family.

Irene M. Mueller

Mrs. Irene Mueller, formerly of Random Lake, passed away Tuesday morning, October 5, 2004, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center in Plymouth. She was 92 years old. Irene was born in the Town of Fredonia on June 24, 1912, daughter of Michael and Annie Kultgen Schneider. On July 6, 1935 she was united in marriage with Harry Mueller at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Dacada. He preceded her in death in 1998. Irene was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel in Dacada, where she was involved with the Christian Women, Good Samaritan Guild and the Apostolate of Suffering. She enjoyed taking care of her family and grandchildren, sewing, gardening and visiting with friends. She is survived by her children: Joyce (Joseph) Grundle of Milwaukee, Robert Mueller of Random Lake, James (Chris) Mueller of Plymouth, Arnold (Pattie) Mueller of Prarie du Chien, Charles (Janet) Mueller of Detroit, MI, Donald (Cheryl) Mueller of Fond du Lac, and Leon Mueller of Walton, KY, 20 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by 1 brother, Michael (La Verne) Schneider of Random Lake, 2 sisters: Mildred (the late John) Jacoby of Belgium and Alice (the late Peter) Jacoby of Random Lake, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, 1 son, John, 1 brother, Joseph Schneider and 1 infant sister, Lillian. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 8, 7PM at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Dacada. Father Richard Cerpich will officiate. Irene will be placed to rest next to her husband in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday at the CHURCH from 4-7PM. In memory of Irene, memorials to the church are suggested by the family.

Margaret Ubbink

Margaret Ubbink, age 98 years of Harford, formerly of Port Washington, passed away Friday evening, September 24, 2004 at Hartford Care Center where she had been a resident. Marge was born on July 20, 1906, in Port Washington, daughter of the late Frank and Rose Thill Hoff. On August 23, 1928 she married Arnold Ubbink at St. Mary’s Church in Port Washington. He preceded her in death in 1974. Mrs. Ubbink worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Styron for 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington, and was very active both her church and the community. Marge is survived by her son William (Donna) Ubbink of Random Lake and her daughter Andrea (Donald) Meyer of Tacoma, WA. She is further survived by 3 grandchildren, Jodi Ubbink, and Nikki and Bobby Meyer, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, and two sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 27, 2004 6:30 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. Interment will be in St. Mary’s cemetery, Port Washington. Visitation at the Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, Monday from 3-6 PM . Memorials suggested to the Food Pantry. Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is assisting the family.

Shelley A. Dickmann

Ms. Shelley Dickmann, of Green Bay Ave. in Saukville, was found at her residence late Thursday afternoon. She was 51 years old. Shelley was born September 12, 1953 in port Washington, daughter of William and Dolores Streff Dickmann. Ms. Dickmann had worked for many years as a lead cook at Lasata Nursing Home in Cedarburg. She was a member at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville, was an avid Packer fan and Nascar fan, enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed knitting baby blankets, many of which she gave away to friends and family. Shelley is survived by her sister, Nancy (Jim) Friedrich of Smyrna, TN, 3 brothers: William Jr. (Cheryl), Jon and Jay (Lisa) Dickmann, all of Saukville. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews: Jared, Kasey, Alyssa, Taylor, Brandon, Shannon, Clinton and Aaron, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents. Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, Sept. 20, 2004 7PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s cemetery, Saukville. The family will receive visitors Monday at the CHURCH from 4-7 PM. Memorial to American Diabetes Association are suggested.

Erna A. Beimborn

Erna A. Beimborn, age 84 years of Port Washington, passed away Wednesday September 8, 2004 at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee Hospital in Mequon. She was born December 7, 1919 in the Town of Cedarburg, daughter of the late George P. and Louisa Krohn Anschuetz. On August 31, 1940 she married Alex Beimborn. He preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Beimborn is a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton, and a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Washington. While at St. John’s, Erna was very active in the Altar Guild and Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and baking. Erna is survived by her three children, Richard and James both of Port Washington and Delores (Dennis) Rickard of Cedarburg. She is further survived by 4 grandchildren Alex, Zachary, Erin and Will Rickard, two sisters Annie Hardt of Jackson and Lucille Matter of Cedarburg, sisters-in-law Renota (Cyril) Luedtke, Elsa Egerer and Rosie Westphal, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband and 1 infant brother. Funeral services will be held on Sunday September 12, 2004, 2PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church 701 Washington St. in Grafton with Rev. Kenton Wendorf officiating. Burial will take place in Zur Ruhe cemetery in Cedarburg. A visitation is scheduled for Saturday September 11, 2004, 5-8 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington and on Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church 1-2 PM. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
