WILLIAM “Bill” KULT

Bill Kult, age 68 years of Oconomowoc, formerly of Rhinelander died Saturday, September 4, 2004 at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 13, 1936 in Kenosha, son of Winard and Irene Nodolf Kult. On September 16, 2000 he married Joi Sauer in Dousman, WI. Bill worked as the bakery manager for McAdams Pick and Save Store in Oconomowoc for the past eleven years. He enjoyed music, boating, traveling, and was an avid circus fan.. Bill was loved throughout the circus community and was known for sharing his time and generosity. Survivors include his five children Valerie (Randy) Erickson of MN., Carrie (Kevin) Clairmont of LaCrescent, WI, Katie (William) Gooder of Duluth, MN., Mary (Dave) Chacon of Racine, WI and William (Shelli) Kult of Onalaska, WI, his stepchildren Andy Schultz of Oconomowoc, WI and Michelle (Shawn) Stangel of Delafield, WI, nine grandchildren, his mother in law Dolores Sauer of Port Washington and sisters in law Sandy (Gary) Rollinger of Brookfield and Annette Zamora of Port Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Rogell. Funeral Wednesday eve. September 8, 6:30 PM at Schmidt & Bartelt Notbohm-Kreutzmann Funeral Home, 121 Cross St. in Oconomowoc with Father William Burkert, friend of the family, officiating. Memorials to Oconomowoc Regional Cancer Center appreciated. Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is assisiting the family with arrangements.

Marie K. Emmer

Mrs. Marie Emmer, of Cedar Valley Road in the Town of Fredonia, passed away at Ruth Hospice in Milwaukee early Thursday morning, Sept. 2, 2004 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was 59 years old. Marie was born on February 15, 1945 in Port Washington, daughter of Lawrence and Lucille Ternes Wellenstein. After graduating from high school, Marie went on to attend and graduate from St. Norbert’s College in De Pere. On June 21, 1969 she was united in marriage with Paul Emmer at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1993. Mrs. Emmer was a Special Education Job Coach at Ozaukee High School in Fredonia from 1994 until 2003. She was a member of Holy Rosary Parish, St. Rose Chapel in Fredonia where she taught special needs religion classes and was formerly on the church council. She enjoyed weaving and helping out at Portal Industries. Marie was very involved in the special needs community and spent a lot of her time helping others to help themselves. She is survived by her 2 daughters: Amy (Scott) Jaeger of Tallahassee, FL and Katy Sue Emmer of Port Washington. She is further survived by her mother, Lucille Wellenstein of Port Washington, parents-in-law Lawrence and Bernice Emmer of Fredonia, 1 sister, Gail (Nick) de Chadenedes of Everett, WA, 1 brother, Larry (Mary Jo) Wellenstein of Glendale, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, 1 infant daughter, Ruth, and her father, Lawrence Wellenstein. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 4, 7PM leaving from the Funeral Home and going to Holy Rosary Parish, St. Rose Chapel, Fredonia for Mass of Christian Burial at 7:30 PM. Father James Ernster will officiate. Marie will be placed next to her husband in St. Rose cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave. (Hwy LL & Park St.) in Belgium Saturday, Sept. 4 from 4-7PM. The family suggests memorials to Portal Industries or The Special Olympics.

RYAN R. TESCH

Mr. Ryan Tesch, of Main Street in Saukville, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, August 30, 2004 as the result of injuries received in a car accident. He was 23 years old. Ryan was born in Port Washington on May 28, 1981, He was a 1999 graduate of Port Washington High School and had attended MATC for additional classes. Ryan had worked at Neuens Lumber Store in Fredonia, but had taken a job with Super Sky Inc., located in Theinsville, about a month ago. Ryan was passionate about hunting, fishing and church. He had recently started attending Northbrook Church in Richfield with his fiancée. He enjoyed playing “Madden” on his Playstation and “Texas Hold’em” poker. He loved spending time with his fiancée, Jessie Lemke, also of Saukville, and spent much time with his younger brother, Walter. Ryan is survived by his parents Lindalee (nee Nelson) and Kurt Keller, 1 sister, Amanda Keller, 1 brother, Walter Keller, and his fiancee Jessie Lemke, all of Saukville. He is further survived by his grandparents: Martha (the late Raymond) Keller of Sheboygan Falls, Nancy (James) Risch of Belgium and Elmer Nelson of Hudson, FL, his future parents-in-law: Debbie & Mike Towler of West Bend and John Lemke of Saukville, aunts and uncles: Bob (Diane) Nelson of West Bend, Debbie (Jay) Ralston of Belgium, Sheryl (Rick) Wienrich of Fredonia, Doreen (Jeff) Bransted of Reedsburg, Tim (Donna) Nelson of Plymouth, Dan (Sue) Keller of Grafton, Sue (Tom) Yonke of Rosendale, Raymond “Sam” (Lynn) Keller of Random Lake, Gini Rabitoy of Belgium, Kathleen Huston of Fredonia and Ken Keller of Port Washington, cousins, other relatives and many, many dear friends. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2004 at Northbrook Church, 4014 Hwy 167 (Holy Hill Road) in Richfield at 11AM. Rev. Robert Boerner will officiate. The family will receive visitors on Friday, 3:30-8PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington and on Saturday from 10-11AM at the Church. There will be a prayer service 7PM Friday evening at the Funeral Home. Memorials to the family are suggested.

Hardus "Hardee" Veen

Hardus J. Veen “Hardee”
Mr. Hardee Veen, a long time Port Washington resident, passed away early Wednesday afternoon, August 25, 2004 at Sunny Springs Care Center in Port Washington. He was 87 years old. Hardee was born on January 22, 1917 in Menno, South Dakota, son of Ben and Dorothy Winter Veen. He was united in marriage with Leona Ott. She preceded him in death on October 9, 1970. On October 5, 1974 he was united in marriage with Jean Mallory Webb at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Washington. She preceded him in death on October 5, 2003. Hardee was a machinist at Bolens in Port Washington, retireing in1982. Mr. Veen loved gardening. He enjoyed woodworking and shooting pool at the Port Washington Senior Center. Hardee was also a long-time member of the Port Washington Fire Department and the Van Ellis American Legion Post. Hardee is survived by 1 daughter-in-law, Lois Veen of South Bend, IN, 1 step-son, Richard (Edie) Webb of Port Washington, 7 grandchildren: Hardus (Laurie) Veen, Paul (Rebecca) Veen, Beene (Eva) Veen, Karen (Andrew) Green, Tara (Scott) Pressel, Dirk Veen and Amy (Michael) Ciocarelli. He is further survived by 17 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Angeline Halla of Yankton, South Dakota, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his wives and 1 son, Charles Veen.

LOIS M. KOCZKA

Lois Koczka, recently of Chiswell St. in Saukville, formerly of Port Washington, Belgium and Sheboygan, passed away at Columbia-St. Mary’s Ozaukee Campus in Mequon on Tuesday afternoon, August 24, 2004, just one week shy of her 79th birthday.
Lois was born in Aurora, IL on August 31, 1925, the daughter of Leonard and Mary Conrad Schoeberlein. On August 31, 1942 she was united in marriage to William Koczka in Atlanta, GA. The couple moved to the Port Washington area in the early sixties and eventually into the Belgium area. William preceded her in death on April 20, 1985. Mrs. Koczka moved to Sheboygan for a few years before moving into the Saukville area in February of this year. Lois enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. She could often be seen walking the town for exercise. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being with her family. She is survived by her 2 sons, William (Judith) Koczka of Rhinelander and Allen (Judith) Koczka of Belgium, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by 1 brother, Alan (Donna) Schoeberlein of Aurora, IL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, William, 1 grandson, Michael Koczka and 1 sister, Leona Schoeberlein. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 30, 2004 at 1PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave. (Hwy LL & Park St.), Belgium. Rev. Sid Litke will officiate. Lois will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Mary’s cemetery, Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Monday from 12 noon to 1PM. Dale Schultz

Mr. Dale Schultz, of Sunset Road in Port Washington, passed away at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison early Tuesday morning. He was 53 years old. Dale was born on May 27, 1951 in Milwaukee, son of Donald and Ardith Merten Schultz. On Nov. 20, 1983 he married Jacqueline Alexander in Port Washington. She preceded him in death on November 26, 1990. He was united in marriage with D’Ann Gahlman on Dec. 6, 1991 in Port Washington. Dale most recently had worked as a stocker at Walmart in Saukville. He enjoyed meeting and talking with people, going for walks and watching the Packers. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife and their cats. He is survived by his wife, D’Ann of Port Washington, 3 brothers: Daniel (Diane) Shultz of Oregon, WI, Nick (Tina) Yurske, Jr., of Port Washington, and Kenneth (Robin) Yurske of Hartford, 2 stepchildren, Kevin and Dawn Anderson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by a wife, Jackie, his parents and his stepfather, Nick Yurske. Funeral Services were held Friday, August 13 at Eernisse Funeral Home. Interment took place in Union cemetery.

of PORT WASHINGTON formerly of WAUKESHA August 16, 2004 age 66 years, dear father of Steve (Kris) Ziehm and Jill Ziehm, loving grandpa of Nicole, also survived by two sisters Francine (John) Lorts and Jackie (Gordon) Ewart, other relatives and friends. NICKLAS, CLARA H.

(nee Henze) CEDARBURG, WI, formerly of New Haven, CT. August 16, 2004, age 101 years. Beloved wife of the late Stanley, dear mother of Stanley F. Nicklas Jr. and Carol (C. Ross) Campbell. Also survived by 6 granddaughters, 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. preceded in death by her husband, her parents Rudolph C. and Clara Henze and 1 sister, Mae Henze Voos. Clara was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church in New Haven, CT, an 82 year member of Alice Chapter #76 OES in Hamden, CT and The Maine Society. A memorial service will be held at 3PM on Saturday, August 28, 2004, at St. Simon the Fisherman Episcopal Church, 3448 N. Green Bay Road, Port Washington, WI. The Rev. Julian V. Hills and The Rev. Dr. D. Scott Stoner will officiate. Inurnment will take place in Evergreen cemetery, New Haven, CT at the convenience of the family. Earl F. Abramowski

Mr. Earl Abramowski, of Oak Court in Port Washington passed away Monday morning, August 16, 2004 at Columbia St. Mary’s Campus in Mequon. He was 77 years old. Earl was born in Milwaukee on March 16, 1927, son of Emil E. and Emma A. Druminski Abramowski. He entered the United States Army in 1945 and served until 1947. He moved to the Port Washington area in 1965 and worked as a laborer at Bolens. Earl was an avid Packer’s fan and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing Cribbage at the Port Washington Senior Center. He was a member of the American Legion Gen. William Mitchell Post 388. He is survived by his 5 children: David Abramowski of Haslet, TX, Daniel (Mary) Buffalo, MN Debra (Jim) Rieck of Grafton, Denise (Ron) Larson of Tomahawk and Dale (Lina) Abramowski of Palintine, IL, 11 grandchildren, 1 sister, Joyce (Allen) Bierle of Milwaukee, former wife Rose Marie Doyle, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by 1 sister, Gladys (the late Edward) Bauer, 1 granddaughter, Megan Lee Abramowski, and his long time friend and companion Marilyn Howard. MONICA ROSE SHININGER

Monica Shininger, age 3 years of 121 Hill St., Fredonia died Friday, August 6, 2004 at Children’s Hospital in Wauwatosa. She was born April 24, 2001 in Mequon, daughter of Timothy and Anne Kopp Shininger. Survivors include her parents, three brothers Justin, Mark and Nicholas, grandparents Robert and Stella Shininger of Defiance, OH, Fritz and Barbara Kopp of Monroe, WI, great grandparents Agnes Singer of Ney, OH and John and Elsie Nussbaum of Monroe, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Tuesday, August 10, 10 AM at Holy Rosary Parish, Holy Cross Chapel in Belgium with Father Anthony Kopp and Father Richard Fleischmann officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation at Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington Monday from 4-8 PM and at CHURCH Tuesday from 9-10 AM.

Laura Louise Christensen

Mrs. Laura Christensen, formerly of Fredonia, passed away peacefully at Harbor Club in Port Washington on Tuesday morning, August 3, 2004. She was 86 years old. Laura was born on August 5, 1917 in the Town of Port Washington, daughter of Fred and Louisa Fischer Paape. She was united in marriage to Alois Biever in 1939, he preceded her in death in early 1943. In September of 1943 she married Roland Christensen. He preceded her in death in June of 1972. Laura often worked outside of the home at various jobs, but mainly worked in housekeeping and laundry at the old St. Alphonses Hospital in Port Washington. She was a member of St. Paul’s Community Church in Waubeka, and enjoyed embroidery work, gardening, and working around her home. She was an avid reader and could frequently be seen walking around town, often with one of the family pets. If you had to choose one word to sum up Laura it was independent. She is survived by her 3 daughters: Judy (Henry) Gloede of Fredonia, Betty (Harold) Strohmeyer of Kewaskum and Barbara (Erhard) Jobs of the Town of Saukville, 8 grandchildren: Randal, Mark and David Gloede, James, Jennifer and Steven Strohmeyer, Joseph and Jason Jobs. She is further survived by 5 great-grandchildren: Ryan, Angela, Aaron, Joshua and Jacob, sister-in-law Geraldine Paape of Adell, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, 1 infant son, Alois Jr., 1 son-in-law, Ira Laubenstein, 1 infant granddaughter, Deborah, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 6th at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Community Church in Waubeka. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s cemetery, Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington on Thursday from 4-9PM.

ADOLPH E. WITTE

Adolph Witte, age 86 years of Port Washington died Thursday morning, July 29, 2004 at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington where he had been a resident for the past several months. He was born August 15, 1917 in Grafton, son of William and Alma Hahn Witte. On June 28, 1952 he married Marcella Plier at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. The couple farmed in the Town of Port Washington until retiring. She preceded him in death in 1995. Adolph also drove a milk truck and worked in the shipping department at Trak Intermational in Port Washington. He was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington, the Port Washington Senior Citizens and Local 1430 IAM. Survivors include five children Nancy (Norbert) Ansay of Port Washington, Merlin (Effie) Plier of Fond du Lac, Donald (Adrianne) Plier, Franklin “Joe” (Catherine) Plier and Sylvester (Lynn) Plier all of Port Washington, 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren. two sisters Elnore Wilde and Caroline Wilde of Port Washington, one brother Erwin (Marion) Witte of West Bend, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sunday evening, August 1, 6 PM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington with Father Michael Dineen officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery, Port Washington. Visitation will be at the CHURCH Sunday from 4-6 PM.

PAUL B. WATRY

Paul Watry, age 17 years of Spinnaker Dr., Port Washington died Thursday afternoon, August 16, 2007 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa as the result of a traffic accident. Because of his giving nature, Paul chose to be a tissue and organ donor. He was born August 22, 1989 in Milwaukee, son of Larry and Agnes Thomas Watry. Paul was a Senior at Port Washington High School where he participated in the Jazz Band, forensics, DECA and was involved with lighting and staging for high school and local productions. He enjoyed playing his guitars and organized a local band named “Ubiquitous Scab” ( meaning: “EVERYWHERE HEALING”). The band performed and participated in Relay for Life, Lions Fest, Fish Day and other local benefits. Paul was a high honors student, member of the National Honor Society, and planned on attending UW Whitewater to pursue a degree in business. He is survived by his parents Larry and Aggie Watry of Port Washington, his grandmother Lorraine (the late Harold) Watry of Port Washington, his aunts and uncles Mike and Charlene Watry, Jim and Evie Watry, Dan and Cheryl Watry, Bob and Rhonda Watry, Bill and Missy Watry and John Thomas, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Sylvester and Dorothy Thomas, his paternal grandfather Harold Watry and his uncle John Watry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday evening, August 21, 7:30 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Port Washington, preceded by family rites at 7 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation at the Funeral Home Tuesday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Paul Watry Memorial Fund, c/o Port Washington State Bank, 206 N. Franklin St., Port Washington appreciated.

Jerry E. Condon

Mr. Jerry Condon, of Spring Street in Port Washington, passed away unexpectedly at Columbia-St. Mary's Ozaukee Campus in Mequon on Monday, May 15th, 2006. He was 48 years old. Jerry was born in Milwaukee on December 6, 1957, son of Forest and Margaret Kelly Condon. He was united in marriage with Gail Becker on September 26, 1992 in Fox Point. The couple have lived in the Port Washington area for the last 12 years. Mr. Condon was employed at Circle B Recreation Center in Grafton. He loved spending time outdoors, having a good time and doing glass paintings. He enjoyed cooking, was a fan of music of all sorts and collected imported beer. Jerry is survived by his wife, Gail, of Port Washington and their four children: A.J. Bobby, and Jason Scibby, all of Port Washington, and Branden Condon of Newburg. He was the fun-loving Grandpa of Elexia and "all of his little ones." He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Condon of Alma Center and his twin sister Terry (Bobby) Spaulding of Hixton, WI. Jerry is further survived by 2 brothers, 2 sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his father and 1 brother. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on Saturday, May 27th at 1PM. It will be held at The Studio, 1034 S. Spring Street in Port Washington.

Henry S. Hoffman

Henry Hoffman, age 62 of Menomonee Falls died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Ruth Hospice in Milwaukee. He was born May 18, 1942 in Milwaukee, son of the late Sidney and Mary Louise Gonyon Hoffman. He was a 1962 graduate of Washington High School in Milwaukee. On April 27, 1968 he married Janet Barelmann at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Henry worked in the Milwaukee area for twenty years as a meat cutter and later at Kelch Corp. in Mequon. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa. Henry enjoyed working in his yard, helping neighbors and friends, watching his sons in sports activities and collecting.
Survivors include his wife Janet, two sons Hank Hoffman II of Milwaukee and Capt.Greg Hoffman, USAF of Colorado Springs, CO. He is the brother of Joe (Pat) Hoffman of Salem, OR, Sharon (Jack) Gigl of Dallas, TX, Marsha, Lee and Carol Kuligowski. He is further survived by sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9, 7 PM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church 10025 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa with Rev. Gene Henke officiating. Burial will be in Zur Ruhe cemetery, Cedarburg. Visitation at the CHURCH Monday from 4:30 – 7 PM. FREDRICK B. PHILIPPS “FRITZ”

Mr. Fred Philipps, a longtime resident of Port Washington and currently a resident at Harbor Club, passed away Tuesday afternoon surrounded by his family. He was 92 years old. Fredrick was born on January 18, 1913.
After school and a stint on a Great Lakes ship, Fritz was united in marriage with Henrietta Erlwig on June 27, 1936 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. The couple settled down to raise a family and in 1945 Fritz took a job as a mechanic at the Columbia Garage, most recently J.L. Schmidt Garage. He stayed until retirement and work part-time for many years after. Mr. Philipps’ passion was working on and restoring cars and anything with a combustion engine. He worked on the Midget race cars that were run through Schmidt Garage, was a former member of the Buick Riviera Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening while he was able. He is survived by his wife, Henrietta of Port Washington and their nine children: Norman (Carol) Philipps of Peshtigo, Lloyd (Marilyn) Philipps of California, LeRoy “Butch” (the late Darleen) Philipps of Bloomer, Fredrick “Fritz” (Gale) Philipps of Port Washington, Deanne (Paul) Gallun of Newberg, Judy Johnson of Port Washington, the late Jill Smith, Marilyn Barsch of Port Washington and Kenneth Philipps of Colorado. He is further survived by 29 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 1 sister Sylvia Bley of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his faithful companion Baron. He is preceded in death by 1 daughter, Jill Smith, 4 grandchildren: Jeffrey, Stevie, Peter and Chris, 1 brother, Arnold and 1 sister Elizabeth. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 7th, at 2PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave. (Hwy 33 & LL) in Port Washington. Pastor Don Zahurance will officiate. A Gathering of Remembrance will be held from 12-2PM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family.
