WILLARD L. CORBIN
FOUR STATES, W.Va. - Willard L. "Cork" Corbin, 84, of Four States, died at 5:10 p.m., Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born at Hubbard, W.Va., March 19, 1914, a son of the late Claude E. and Gladys Davis Corbin.
Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Lillian F. Wilson Corbin, whom he married
Dec. 24, 1937. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dennis L. Corbin, Fairmont, and Randall Corbin and his wife Karon, Four States; two daughters, Kathryn J. Salisbury, Fairmont, Betty Corbin, at home; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; five brothers, Cleadus Corbin, Gormaine, Jack Corbin, Fairmont, Delmonte Corbin, Deer Park, Md., Milner Corbin, Horseshoe Run, and Bradley Corbin, Kempton, Md.; three sisters, Wanda Corbin, Maxine Repetsky, both of Kempton, Carol Pace, Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Corbin was a coal miner having retired from Consolidation Coal Co., Four States Mine 20, with 48 years of service. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Friends may call at the Dorsey Funeral Home, Shinnston, Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. and after 2 p.m. Monday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Sherman V. Goodwin officiating.
Interment will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Fairmont.
SUSAN E. CAMERON
PETERSBURG, W.Va. - Susan Elizabeth Cameron, 38, of Petersburg, passed away Monday morning, June 8, 1998, at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Born May 2, 1960, in Illinois, she was the daughter of Dorothy Lloyd from Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Cameron was an active member of the Moorefield Church of Christ, Pack 60 and Troop 60 Boy Scouts of America, and was an 1980-84 Veteran of Navy Core.
Surviving are her husband, Dale Cameron; two sons, Dale Cameron II and Kevin Andrew Cameron, Petersburg. Also surviving are three sisters, Michelle Rutledge, Monk's Corner, S.C., Shelia Thomas, Jackie Thomas, Belleville; and one brother, Keith Thomas, Belleville.
Friends may call anytime after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Elmore-Chambers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Elmore-Chambers Funeral Home, with Larry Redman, Minister of the Church of Christ, officiating.
WILLIAM P. ADAMS JR.
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - William Paul Adams Jr., 75, of Fort Ashby, died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, at the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg.
Born Sept. 23, 1922, in Fort Ashby, he was the son of the late William Paul Adams Sr. and Mary Viola (Fisher) Adams. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Donald R. Adams; and one sister, Dorothy Margaret Perry.
He served six months in the C.C. Camp, Petersburg. Mr. Adams was a veteran of World War II. He was a corporal and was the lead half track driver in Patton's 3rd. Army 4th. Armor Division. He served in the Normandy Invasion, Northern France, England, and was wounded during the battle at Rhineland. Mr. Adams received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star; the European, African, Middle Eastern Service Ribbon; and the Combat Infantry Expert Rifleman badge.
Mr. Adams had been self-employed as a salesman. Previously, he was the Assistant of Maintenance for Multi-family Management, Martinsburg.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Patterson Creek; life member and one of the original founding members of VFW Post 6667, Fort Ashby; life member DAV - WV Chapter 9; and past commander, DAV WV Chapter 2, Martinsburg.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Rose Mary (Matacia) Adams; two sons, Michael Adams, Brandywine, W.Va., and Patrick Adams, Cumberland; two daughters, Glenna Koontz, Brandywine, and Sondra Mongold, Fort Ashby; four brothers, James Adams, Fort Ashby, John Adams, Falling Waters, Benny Blake Adams, Fort Ashby, and Vernon Timothy Adams, Virginia; four sisters, Rose Marie King, Fort Ashby, Shirley L. Elkins, Short Gap, Nancy Gentzler, Fort Ashby, and Peggy Seeders, Dan's Run Road; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; an uncle "Red" Fisher, Patterson Creek; and an aunt, Ruth Barthalow, Chaneysville, Pa.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Delbert Poling officiating.
Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by the local Combined Veterans Honor Guard.

SANDRA K. COSGROVE
KEYSER, W.Va. - Sandra K. Cosgrove, age 51, of Route 2, Keyser, died at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md., on Saturday, June 20, 1998.
She was born in Keyser on April 17, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Robert L. Jones Sr. and Madeline C. (Hayes) Jones.
Mrs. Cosgrove was Protestant by faith. She was a member of the American Jersey Cattle Association. She was a graduate of Keyser High School Class of 1965.
She is survived by her husband, F. Joseph Cosgrove; and one brother, Robert L. Jones, Keyser.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 22, at Biser cemetery, Knobley Road, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Weaver officiating.
The family request that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are being handled by the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont.
ROBERTA E. BRANDT
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Roberta Ellen Brandt, 79, formally of Cumberland, Md., died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at the Washington Home Hospice in Washington, D.C.
Born Oct. 21, 1918, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Owen Clay Smith Sr. and the late Cindrilla F. (Smith) Smith. She also was preceded death by her husband, Alfred E. Brandt.
Mrs. Brandt was a telephone operator for Auburn Towers Hotel and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Surviving are four sons, Owen Brandt and wife Susan, Brookville, Md., Robert Brandt, Wheaton, Md., Warren Michael Brandt, Elkridge, Md., and James Brandt, Aspenhill, Md.; two brothers, Owen C. Smith Jr., Baltimore, and Allen R. Smith, Cumberland; a sister, Thelma Valentine, Cumberland; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bernard Yost officiating.
Interment will be in the Fairview Christian cemetery, Inglesmith, Pa.
CHARLES C. COSNER
MOUNT STORM, W.Va. - Charles C. Cosner, 64, of Cherry Ridge Road, Mount Storm, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, at his home.
Born Nov. 3, 1933, in Bismarck, he was the son of the late Burza M. and Agnes L. (Moreland) Cosner. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold Cosner.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Buffalo Coal Company, Bayard, and was a member of the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren.
An Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of Kelly Mansfield Post #52, American Legion, Piedmont, and was a life member of Abraham Lincoln Post #6735, V.F.W., Mount Storm.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda M. (Berg) Cosner; one daughter, Barbara M. Cosner, Chambersburg, Pa.; three sons, Charles B. Cosner Sr., and wife, Cheryl, Mount Storm, John C. Cosner and wife, Michelle, Waynesboro, Pa., and Sgt. Daniel R. Cosner, U.S. Air Force, and wife, Stacy, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Evelyn Streets and husband, Lawrence, and Darlene Bonner, both of Mount Storm; one sister-in-law, Mary Cosner, Bayard; one aunt, Mildred Moreland, Gormania; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Services will be held at the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1998, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Walker officiating.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by members of the various veterans organizations in southern Garrett County, the American Legion, Piedmont and the V.F.W., Mount Storm.
