JOHN F. NATOLLY
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - John Francis Natolly, 69, of Ridgeley, died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Jan. 24, 1929, in Mount Savage, he was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Lowery) Natolly. He also was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Edward, Samuel and William Natolly; and two sisters, Rose Garlitz and Marie Thompson. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Natolly was a retired truck driver for the Kelly Springfield Tire Co., Cumberland, Md. He was Episcopalian by faith.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Natolly; two sons, John Francis Natolly II and wife Dorothy, Valley Road, Cumberland, and Steve L. Natolly, Ridgeley; one daughter, Lois A. D'Atri and husband Stephen, Ridgeley; and two grandchildren, John Francis Natolly III and Anthony Joseph Natolly.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The Requiem Eucharist will be conducted at St. George's Episcopal Church, Mount Savage, Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Alice D. Babin officiating.
Interment will be in St. George's Episcopal Church cemetery, Mount Savage.
EDGAR NELSON
CABINS, W.Va. - Edgar Nelson, age 95, of HC 59, Box 732, Cabins, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at Heartland of Keyser, Keyser, W.Va.
Born Oct. 18, 1902, at Royal Glen, he was the son of the late Jonathan Nelson and Myrtle (Deadrick) Nelson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Infant Robert Nelson, and Harry Nelson; four sisters, Ruth Nelson, Janie Carter, Virginia Ketterman and Susan Bowers.
Mr. Nelson was parts manager for Ours Chevrolet in Petersburg for several years, and then he and his wife, Viola, managed Smoke Hole Caverns at Cabins. He was Methodist by faith.
On Nov. 8, 1937, he married
Viola C. Harman Nelson.
Surviving besides his wife are, three sons, Edgar H. Nelson and wife, Dolores, Cross Junction, Va., the Rev. Donald R. "Duke" Nelson and wife, Janet, Bloomington, Md., and Ernest W. Nelson and wife, Sandy, Cabins; one daughter, Karen N. Keplinger and husband, Vernon, Maysville; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, Petersburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stanley Kile, the Rev. French Smith and the Rev. Donald "Duke" Nelson officiating.

RUTH V. NELSON
SLANESVILLE, W.Va. - Ruth V. Nelson, 84, of Slanesville, died Friday, May 15, 1998, at Hampshire Memorial Hospital, Romney.
Born July 23, 1913, in Spring Gap, she was the daughter of the late Anthony P. Bohrer and the late Mary J. (Shanholtz) Bohrer. She also was preceded in death by two children; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker. She was a member of Capon Chapel Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are her husband, Happ O. Nelson; six sons, Kenneth R. Nelson, Houston, Texas, Alvin C. Nelson, Chambersburg, Pa., Herman O. Nelson, Great Cacapon, Jennings O. Nelson, Slanesville, Claude D. Nelson, Martinsburg, and Dwight L. Nelson, Salem, Ohio; three daughters, Wanda Ebersole, Chambersburg, Helen E. Cowgill, Annapolis, Md., and Linda L. Lambert, Capon Bridge; 33 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, May 18, 1998, at 2 p.m. with Brother Edward Weaver, Brother Danny Combs and Frank Lambert officiating.
Burial will be in the Salem cemetery, Points. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
HARRY E. NESBIT JR.
KEYSER, W.Va. - Harry E. Nesbit Jr., 75, of 195 Keys St., Keyser, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at his residence.
Born Dec. 9, 1922, at Keyser, he was a son of the late Harry E. Nesbit Sr. and Maude I. (Graham) Nesbit. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen V. (Shears) Nesbit on April 3, 1993; one stepson, Gary L. Zais; and two brothers.
Mr. Nesbit was a retired tower operator for the B&O; Railroad with more than 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; a graduate of Keyser High School; and member of Queens Point Memorial Post 6775 VFW, McCoole, Md., and Victory Post 155, American Legion, Westernport, Md.
Surviving are one son, Brian E. Nesbit, Keyser; four stepsons, William L. Zais Jr., Bloomington, Md., Terry L. Zais, Keyser, Danny J. Zais, New Creek, Jerry Metz, Titusville, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Patricia A. McDonald, Keyser; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m. with The Reverend Matthew Riegel officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
VIRGINIA J. NEWMAN
KEYSER, W.Va. - Virginia Jenkins Newman, 90, a resident of the Shenandoah Home, Ranson, and formerly of Cumberland, Md., died on Saturday, March 28, 1998, at the Shenandoah Home.
Born July 7, 1907, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Elliott and Sadie R. (Smith) Jenkins.
Mrs. Newman was a retired school teacher after 42 years of teaching. She was a graduate of Shepherd College with a B.A. degree, and Columbia University with a M.A. degree in Education. She taught school in Mineral County, at Allegany High School (Cumberland), in Baltimore County and in Garrett County.
She was a United Methodist by faith.
Services will be held at the Markwood McKenzie Funeral Home, Keyser, on Sunday, March 29, 1998, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Conelly officiating. Interment will be in Queens Point cemetery, Keyser.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday one hour prior to services.
FRANCIS L. NICKLIN
LEWISBURG, W.Va. - Francis Louise Nicklin, 83, of Cumberland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998.
At the time of her death she was with her children at their home in Lewisburg.
Born Nov. 14, 1914, at Keyser, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Dr. Lloyd H. Gaston, Sr., and Edna Mae (Davis) Gaston. She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Nicklin, on April 28, 1992; a brother, Dr. Lloyd H. Gaston, Jr., in 1962; and her nephew, Robert H. Mann, Jr., in 1974.
A lifelong resident of Cumberland, she was a charter member of the Cumberland Bible Church, taught Sunday School throughout her life, lead numerous Bible studies, and was an active member in Christian Women's Club. Mrs. Nicklin was active in various volunteer capacities for over 25 years. These included the American Red Cross, Memorial Hospital, Allegany County Home, Allegany Historical Society, and the Western Maryland Railroad Museum.
Survivors include two daughters, Margery Ashbeck and husband, Robert, Jane Bruce and husband, Barry, all of Lewisburg; a sister, Geraldine H. Mann, Rockville, Md.; four grandchildren, Kimberly Lambert and husband, David, Huntington, W.Va., Aaron Bruce and wife, Gina, Lynchburg, Va., Adam Bruce and Sarah Bruce, Lynchburg, Va.; six great-grandchildren; three nieces; one nephew; and many friends and loved ones.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, Md., on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ken L. Korns officiating.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Queen's Point cemetery, Keyser.
Pallbearers will be Robert Ashbeck, Barry Bruce, Aaron Bruce, Adam Bruce, Charles Amos and Kenneth Keefauver. Honorary pallbearers will be David Lambert, Coyle Moreland, Ralph Franz, Paul Rice, Aaron Mowbray and Jack Kreiling.
